Drove 45 minutes from Northern Westchester to my closest Warby Parker in Greenwich, CT. Brought my 19 year old for us both to pick out new glasses. We walked in and no one acknowledged us. Others walked in after us and they were greeted, attended too, and still we were left unnoticed. We tried on a few different pairs. A woman working there made eye contact with me, but still, said NOTHING. I brought a pair I liked to the register and still no acknowledgment. Even my son asked if we could just leave. VERY disappointing experience. I worked for Luxottica for 18 years and know this industry. Everyone that walks in to your store is a customer! I know it's a busty time of year with benefits ending for many on 12/31(not the case for us), just needed new glasses. We left. I don't know what all these bad reviews are about. The store is really nice! Extremely clean and had all the glasses you could imagine. Very Friendly and attentive staff. I walked right in and within seconds someone asked if I needed help. I had come in to get my glasses I had just purchased on the website adjusted because they were too large on my face and hurting my left ear. They were able to adjust them very quickly and free of charge. Everyone inside the store seemed to be getting helped and there was not a line for anything. I was not really familiar with Warby until a coworker told me about them. I wasn't sure about ordering glasses online so when I found out there was a physical store an hour away I decided to make a field trip one Saturday afternoon. The place was not surprisingly quite busy. But they had plenty of people working so it was easy to get help. The selection is pretty good and I like being able to try them all on to find the glasses that are perfect. Or at least decent. The price is very good. Most glasses are $95 all-in including lenses, tax, shipping and everything else. Some are $145 but most are $95. The price is not as good if you need progressive lenses. Then you add $200 to the price." So you're at $295 or $345. That's still cheaper than most places but not as good of a deal. We've only had them a couple weeks but we are happy and the frames seem of decent quality. They tell you two weeks for delivery to your home and we had them both delivered on time, though the non-progressives came a few days before the progressives. So overall if you need regular glasses this place is a no-brainer over LensCrafters or a local place. If you need progressives it's not a lot cheaper but still worth it. I went to have the lenses on my Rx eyeglasses serviced bc they were scratched. I was told that WP would replace the eyeglass at no cost. These would be shipped so I would not have to return to shop. I was very pleasantly surprised. I went on the purchased an extra pR of Rx eyeglasses and a new set of sunglasses. At what point is the pain not worth the money you save? I'll tell you my tale after ordering at the new Greenwich, CT store. I had a new prescription and wanted a new pair of glasses. I didn't want to spend $1000 like I did on my last pair so I decided to give Warby Parker a try. Went to the store on Aug 20th, picked a frame, handed over my prescription and the order was written up. The Optician, after seeing my prescription recommended high index lenses so I agreed, it was added to the order and then I paid for it. No sooner did I walk out of the store and saw the salesperson chasing me because the Optician hadn't taken my measurements with his gizmo. Came back, he did his measurements and done. Received an email that the glasses would be ready in 12 business days. The countdown started. A couple of days before the glasses were supposed to be ready I checked online to see if everything was OK. The site said my order had been cancelled on August 31st and re-ordered. Huh? I called customer service and was told there was "a problem at the lab" but they'll rush the order. They took $10 off of the order because they could sense I was annoyed. Received an email on Friday Sept 7th that my glasses were in. Couldn't go down to Greenwich until Sunday (I live 25 miles away). I called customer service asking if they'd check with the store to make sure the specs were there before I shlepped down. First she checked the online status...I insisted she contact the actual store..she needed to call me back...that was 4PM the store closed at 6. At 5:55 I called again...the rep who answered said she'd message the store...she confirmed the glass were there....I asked for the hours and was told 12-6 on Sundays. The IVR said the store hours were 10AM-6PM all week, the website said 10-6 and the store was open 5 days per week. I wanted to get there before they opened on Sunday. I arrived in Greenwich at 11:55 that Sunday...the store was full of customers. They opened at 10AM. Asked for my glasses. The Optician (different from the initial one) put them on me adjusted them quickly and was done. I had a receipt printed and noticed that the price did not include high index lenses. So after they cancelled my original order the re-order did not include the correct lenses. The Optician swore up and down that I didn't need them. I left....it keeps getting more painful The glasses did not fit correctly. The eyeglass temples were too tight against my head, the nose pads were too tight creating big red marks on my nose. The pain just keeps increasing. I finally went to my local Pearle Vision who took the time to fit them correctly and was courteous enough to not charge me. True the cost of my glasses with progressive lenses was equal to the cost of the lenses alone at Pearle Vision but, honestly, this wasn't an impressive experience. To me the bottom line is that here's a business that's trying to bridge the gap between online and brick-and-mortar and isn't there yet. The right hand doesn't quite know what the left is doing and the customer is caught in the middle. read more

On the one hand, the company are industry disrupters (in a good way). The styles are great and I was able to find a pair of glasses for my child that was $95 total (frames and lenses) with no up-selling, meaning it already included scratch resistance, anti-reflective, yada yada yada. Sweet! The staff was very professional to work with. The pain point is that they don't make the glasses on site. The order gets sent out, and then needs to be shipped to the store, with an extra level of quality control making sure the glasses are correct (a good measure to be sure, but adding to the time). Bottom line, the glasses that we ordered on October 26th are still not available on November 4th. That's a long time to wait when it comes TO YOUR EYE SIGHT. The time-lag is the main issue here. They need to figure out a way to tighten the window of time, especially when you can go elsewhere and get them the same day. One other gripe. You cannot call the store directly, if you look up the Greenwich store phone number you get a recording with store hours, and transferred to their national sales rep line. They will then email the store with your specific query. So, not 1 star - not 5 stars, just a middle of the road MEH. read more

The customer experience here was awful. They are covid crazy... oppressively so. I was wearing a face covering (over my nose and mouth) but they didn't think it was good enough. The mask nazi's at the door insisted I wear one of their provided ones. This is not ok. Some really screwed up people at this store. Ok, disclaimer - I've had some very good experiences here, I've had some so-so experiences here, it can be a little scattered. Let's start with the good: Eve, one of the salespeople (dark hair, great style, lots of jewelry #hermes) is absolutely fabulous. She has such a fun demeanor and truly wants to get you into a frame that works. What I like best about her is that if it doesn't work, she isn't going to sell you on it. She'll tell you so, tell you why and then get you into something better. That approach in sales is truly appreciated on a street where every other store will just ply you long enough to close the deal -- and then stop caring. Somebody frank but knowledgable goes a long way with a pair of glasses that can totally skew or make your look. She also helped out a friend of mine who loves her new frames and is on a quest for more. Any time I've gone in, whether I'm looking to buy or not, she's always on the ball, takes notice, makes great suggestions -- she's a huge asset. Christine, I believe, the sales manager is also great. I was in recently for a new pair and there seemed to be some miscommunication with their lab vis-a-vis fulfillment. She was able to locate my color choice and will swap the lenses once they get the finished pair. It was a huge help as I chose something outside of my normal style and if she couldn't get this done, I would have ended up with something nearly identical to what I've already got or left empty-handed. She turned an odyssey with customer service into good news so, kudos to her for stepping in to make it right. Lastly, there is an optician here, I don't know his name but he's an older gentleman with gray hair and I believe he's been there since they opened. He's great at making structural adjustments to the frames - always quick and friendly, exceptional knowledge about fit and finish and knows how to manipulate acetate so that it works perfectly. ***Note*** If you go there and buy a frame, it's better to have it shipped to the store so you can have it fit precisely to your face. Out of the lab, it will likely be close to perfect but every new pair should be properly fitted like the above. Think of it like buying a suit "off the rack" versus having one tailored - there's really no question as to what option will yield the better result. Finally, there's price. For most single vision corrections, the price is exactly what they say it will be. Of course, if you have progressives or an unusual correction that requires additional work, you can expect the cost to rise. However, as a high-grade astigmatic with a significant cylinder correction, I still walked out of there paying the $95. Frames can fluctuate depending on how they're made and how much work is involved in their design -- but this is Greenwich Avenue, there are places up and down the street who would be delighted to sell you a frame in excess of 1K. Parker is hands-down the best deal in town pricewise. I have two other frames with them and I like them both better than my ProDesign Denmark and Alain Mikli that I have at home - both of which were profoundly more expensive. A good pair of glasses is not always measured in cost. I know that for some, affordable is a four letter word, but the truth is in optical there is massive mark-up on designer frames and what they're actually purchased at cost is astonishingly less than the sticker price. Don't let the frugality fool you, Parker's frames are quite decent. My only complaint is that outside of the staff mentioned above, there are a few salespeople there who come across as standoffish. There is a young lady with an alternative style who works the floor. She seems like she's unfriendly or not that into what she's doing. I worked for a large ophthalmic practice for five years and I know, to a large degree, what I'm asking for - as I tried to explain it to her she seemed irritated and/or half-listening. I didn't work with her directly, so maybe that wasn't intended but that's how it felt. Customers shouldn't feel backhanded for asking a question or explaining an issue - this is why you're standing there. I would hate to use a cliche, but as the first people encountered when somebody walks in, that approach does not work anywhere -- and it certainly won't work in Greenwich where a certain standard of service is expected. At the end of the day, Greenwich Avenue is built on relationships with the people who work in the boutiques and the customers who shop them. It is important if you work in that area to cultivate that and use it to your advantage. In a wealthy area, people will return back again and again, if they truly appreciate what you do, they will seek out your abilities. I could get WP in New York, I could go to the one that just opened in Norwalk - I choose to go to Greenwich not because it's particularly convenient (traffic, parking, rude people) but because of the staff that I outlined above. read more

This store has a very large selection of good looking reasonably priced frames. They will do an eye exam and create the lenses as well. They will also repair your glasses at no cost should you damage your frame. Several weeks ago I damaged the frame and the glasses no longer fit. I stopped in to the shop on Greenwich Avenue where within minutes my glasses were fixed by a wonderfully skilled young woman. I asked the equally helpful sales woman what I owed because the glasses had to be taken apart and put back together. "Nothing" was the reply! What I commend this store for is not that the service was free, but because the help was prompt, skilled and cheerfully given. A fine place! read more

We went here to get my daughter's glasses because they were covered by my insurance. I'm glad I decided to try it despite the bad reviews. From the second we got there Sawyer made sure we had the best experience possible! She showed my daughter exactly what she was looking for and explained everything. Great selection and the prices were so good I would've gone there even if it wasn't covered. We were told that the glasses would arrive to our home in 7 to 10 business days, they arrived in 6! Despite the negative reviews that I read both on Yelp and Google, I decided to go into the store last night since I am in the market for a new pair of glasses. I walked in about 5:10pm, they close at 6pm and there were 5 associates two of them were helping customers, one customer had 3 employees giving their opinion on how the glasses looked and the 5th employee was behind the register. I was perused the store for a period of about 10 minutes along with my daughter and no one asked if they could assist us. Further more, I did make eye contact with 3 of the employees and was not asked if I needed help. At this point, I was dishearten because I felt as if I was intruding by being there and decided to just leave, as I was walking out I thought maybe someone will ask me something, anything but I walked out and that was the end of it. read more

When WP opened this morning it was a madhouse. The manager Eve kept calm and did the best she could to make people feel welcomed. I ended up getting her as a salesperson and she helped me pick out amazing frames which were 1/5 of the cost of the frames at the place I usually go. It was a great experience. I totally disagree with the negative reviews -- you just have to be extra patient due to COVID. The store is trying to keep everyone safe and it slows down everything. The only qualified person I encountered was an optician (older gentleman) who couldn't have been more helpful. The staff report to a woman who's favorite answer is sorry we cannot fill your prescription. After making 2 trips to this store and having the prescription altered by my ophthalmologist, I am done with this company. I ordered glasses on the 7th, and paid for expedited shipping to ensure getting them by the 14th. By the 13th they hadn't shipped, and I was told I would get them a day late. On the 15th when they didn't arrive, I called again, and was told there was a problem at the lab, and they didn't have the lenses. Customer service wouldn't hear back from the lab for another 24-48 hours - that is the 17th before I would hear the status. I was going away on the 19th for an extended period. I had hoped to get used to the new prescription before going away - but now it looks like I won't even get them before I go - at least 5 days later than promised. Eyeglasses are a necessary prescription - it is inexcusable that they would not be delivered when promised, or even a day or two later. read more

I actually had a very positive experience coming in here. I was looking to get an upgraded pair of glasses. I began trying some on when I walked in. There weren't really any other customers in the store at the time. I was asked if I needed help but said I was just looking. As I made my way Down the wall, a female sales associate asked if I needed help and I was deciding with my mom which style I liked best. She gave me her honest input and grabbed some others for me to try on that she thought might look good on my face. When I decided on a pair she was there to help me purchase them and immediately got one of her colleagues to come over to take measurements so that I could be on my way. I already had an account so that made it quick and painless, she uploaded my script information into the iPad, I swiped my card and I was on my way! I got my glasses about a week later and was very pleased! Parking is indeed a pain but it's Greenwich so not much you can do. It's better than driving all the way to Manhattan for me. read more

When Warby Parker first came to New York, we would go to their outposts on the Upper East Side, in Brooklyn, and in Grand Central. Each had their benefits. And they were worth the trip even though we lived in the Rivertowns of Southern Westchester. But then someone tipped us off to the Greenwich store. I adore it! The staff is amazingly friendly and supportive. They are great with everyone in my family from the tween to the grandma. The town of Greenwich (although quite chi chi) is worth the trip. You can visit a bookstore, an art gallery, clothing stores, grab some lunch or coffee, as well as have your eyes examined, pick out some great frames, and order your glasses (which can then be delivered to your home or back to the Warby Parker store where you can have them fitted). As for Warby Parker in general: for my family the prescriptions have worked out well and when our frame choice or prescription has required a return they have always respected our wishes and taken back or exchanged items. read more

I tried to go pick up my boyfriends glasses, tried calling the store multiple times before 6, no answer, I was calling to let them know I was going to be there at 6:10 and they wouldn't open the door for me to pick up already payed for glasses. I went to Warby Parker at around 4pm on a Friday in early November. My goal was purchase a pair of regular sunglasses and a pair of prescription glasses. I noticed about 5 people working the floor. As soon as i walked in a young woman named Kassandra offered me help. She worked with me for about 30 minutes suggesting frames and helping me decide which looked best on me. Another young man was not busy and also helped until he was needed for another customer. She rang me up and had the optician measure my eyes. The whole thing took about 45 minutes. She was extremely friendly and helpful. It is the best experience I have ever had in choosing glasses. They did not have the sunglasses in stock in the store so within a few days I received them in the mail. They were packaged so beautifully and I just love them. I expect the glasses to come soon. I would rate both the product and the customer service as top notch. read more
