This is our favorite date-night spot in Lowell. We love to come and hear the live music, and the food is so good. My husband and I are both vegetarian, and we have no trouble eating off this menu. The Brussels sprout salad is amazing, and we always leave room for the Pot de Creme for dessert at the end. The atmosphere is great, as well! Good selection of beer. The atmosphere was pleasant and our server was lovely. We chose dinner entree over sandwiches/burgers. I had the Vegetable Curry and was VERY surprised about the super small portion. The bed of rice was fine, although the included red quinoa would have been better if it was cooked. The amount of cauliflower, green pepper, peas, and tofu on top was that of a side dish. Veggies are cheap--this meal could have used many more of them & left me hungry. The husband's Chicken Saltimbocca was a better portion with the ravioli. If we go back it will be for burgers and beer. Never really go to Lowell but was super hungry and needed some food! We wanted to support a local business instead of a fast food joint and found this place on yelp decided to give it a try simply for the avocado fries! They were delicious by the way! I also had the fig and prosciutto flatbread with goat cheese and it was good! It had mixed greens on top and I think arugula would of been better and maybe a drizzle of balsamic reduction but still very good! The boyfriend got the turkey burger and he enjoyed it! He LOVED the onion rings and I quote said "these may be the best onion rings I've ever had" they held their crunch, were soft at the same time and the onion stayed in place while eating! Love this place! I love going to their music nights! They have local musicians come and play. They have great music and tasty food. They have a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. They could use more vegan options. I love how they label what is allergy friendly! The service was great! They easily modified a dish to make it vegan for me. Tried to keep telling myself it was just a bad night or bad day for some of these people, but it's been the same thing on multiple occasions. Finally made it to W&W after an evening in town last week. Beautiful locale and beautiful intimate atmosphere (we decided that it's a prime romantic date spot in the area) with ample bar seating. The place is a treat to be in with its warm copper accents and muraled walls by local artist Frank Casazza. The staff was very welcoming and the owner came to speak with us as well. You can tell they're getting their sea legs still as far as getting things going, since they seemed to have a lot of new staff orienting and they asked a lot of our opinions on the food/menu, but none of this is said in a negative way. They were all really wonderful staff and the food was out quickly and was really impeccable for only having been officially open for two weeks. It's definitely highbrow style food and the price point for the apps we got is about what I would expect. We got fried pork spring rolls with a tasty chili sauce, fried chicken livers, and a shockingly good Brussels sprouts salad that had this amazing ginger dressing and marinated beets and crunchy little peppers... it was one of my more memorable salads and I could have eaten two more plates of it. Happy to see another new little business make it in our city, hope they stick around and make good use of their space with some local music once they get really established. read more

Great local beer selection. Very centrally located. Cool, even hip vibe. Live music. This is really a place to come have drinks with friends. The food is to accompany the drinks, rathet than the other way around. Having said that, the sandwich we split for lunch was excellent. A small stage in the window makes it look like they get live music there. I can't say much more than that from my visit. This is an excellent part of Lowell, with lots of charm to it. Our particular waitress must have been new. She fumbled a little bit with things, such as not really knowing the beer list, which, by the way was full of small brewery local selectioins, including a brew from the Trappist monks in nearby Spencer Mass. This looks like it would be a nice place to visit for dinner, or just for drinks. I would come back next time I go to Lowell. read more

I had not heard of this place until a coworker asked if I wanted half of a sandwich he was going to get rid of. I had to ask him where it was from. It was a chicken pesto, and I have to say it was one of the best iv ever had , even though it was cold. Not sure why this place has such great reviews. Was going to give one star but the cocktails were good so it got 2. Food was incredibly bland and unimaginative. Amazingly, the bad service overshadowed the food experience. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't even that busy, I was finished with my cocktail by the time my main course arrived (brought by someone who was from the kitchen, not our server). Over the course of the next 10 minutes or so I attempted to get our server's attention while she repeatedly walked right by our table with her head turned in the other direction. Finally I had to call out (somewhat loudly as there was some background chatter in the bar) to get her attention just to order a second drink. Warp and Weft is everything you hope a bar would be. It's got wood everywhere, which makes it both warm and quiet when it needs to be quiet. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the place seems committed to live music with a rigorous four-day-a-week schedule. One wonders whether the establishment is secretly an excuse to grant a venue to up-and-coming musicians; if it be a velleity, it's a kind one. The food! Whatever can be local is, and it's both consistent and quality. All too often one is expected to appreciate local food simply because it's grown or created nearby; they've done an outstanding job of bringing out the best of local tastes. Speaking of local tastes, the Warp Rigger is a cocktail with Moxie in it. The drinks are varied and the beers on tap are both interesting and appealing to a casual beer enthusiast; you'll find no forbidding double IPAs here, and the beer types are helpfully listed along with the ABV so you don't accidentally wander into unfamiliar territory or deeper waters than you'd care to swim in. This is absolutely my new favorite restaurant in Lowell, MA. The menu offers healthy eating options, and ones for those who are not into this. The craft beer options rival choices I have seen at places with the best of the best, and any place that has Maine Brewing Company "Lunch" on tap gets a perfect 10 from me! Very cool design vibe, with exposed bricks and high wooden ceiling, and they generally have live music every night. The pricing for food and beverages is also very wallet friendly. Went to dinner here with some hipster friends, Evelyn & Phillip. It's in the longtime Dubliner space on Market Street. Spent alot of my youth there. Looks pretty much the same, but has a bigger bar. Nice duo played dinner music while we ate. PRO - The food was really good. I had the chicken saltimbocca, which was a half boneless breast wrapped in cheese & prosciutto. Came over five wild mushroom ravioli. It was very good, so was the ravioli. Ward got the chicken stir fry, which came over white rice. Portion was a tad small, but it was good he said. Evey got the grilled salmon. A very small piece of fish, served over some noodles & greens. She liked it. Phillip had the pork tenderloin, 2 nice pieces served over a heaping helping of mashed potatoes. THAT looked really good. Great selection of beers, kept the gentlemen busy deciding what to get. Evey's martini looked great. The flourless chocolate cake we split between the two of us for dessert was fabulous. CON - I got wine. Really TINY pour in a giant glass. I thought, "who drank half my wine" when our nice young server brought it. For $9 - BOO! The dinner menu is limited I felt. No garden or Cesar salads (always a fav of mine) but plenty of burger options-eh. No specials, just seven or eight main courses to choose from. And they don't have decaf coffee. Really? It's after dinnertime, who wants real coffee (except Ward, he can drink coffee & go right to sleep)? Not me. It was our first time there and found parking in the garage across the street convenient. The ambience is great, fitting in with the mill history of Lowell. We went mostly to hear the band that was playing and have dinner and drinks as well. The place was packed and they only had two servers. The servers did a great job keeping up with everything,. running around like crazy but didn't let it show or faze them. They didn't have the empanadas that we wanted to try but the fried pickles and avocado fries were great. The turkey sandwich and the meatloaf sandwich were delicious and came out quickly. The only complaint would be that the mixed drinks were weak so I switched to beer. As the place thinned out they took out some tables to make a dance floor and we took advantage of that Had a wonderful night and will definitely be back to try the burger! read more

Stopped by around 5:30 on a Saturday for an early dinner and had a great time! Small place and the hostess asked if we had a reservation then hesitated when we said we didn't (party of 3) but we were seated immediately. Maybe get a reservation if you want to stop by during a busy time! Food came out EXTREMELY quickly. I tried the apple pie cocktail and it was delicious!! Tasted exactly like apple pie. Waitress was very nice. We asked about the dollar bills on the ceiling and she told us every month they raise money for a non profit, so customers can throw a dollar on the ceiling which was super cool so of course we did it!! Some live music began at 6 pm but it wasn't too loud or anything in fact it added to the great experience. The entire atmosphere of the place was perfect and would definitely come back!! read more

Warm but hip decor, great service. Both the menu and beer/wine selection were limited (for a brew pub) but extremely well chosen. There was one hard cider on the menu which was unique and delicious. The house salad was fresh, varied and was not overly dressed and they did not skimp on the bacon or housemade cornbread croutons. The pastami sandwich was as delicious as I've had anywhere, and better than many "authentic" delis. But my favorite was the dessert - a maple topped pot de creme that could be one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. I will return just for this dessert, and will definitely not share it next time. Parking in downtown Lowell can be dicey but the restaurant is just a block from a town garage. I'm puzzled by the negative reviews I've read -- I love this place (and didn't even get to hear the live music slated for later). I suspect that they had a few bumps as they started up. The only caveat to my very positive review is that the food is super high quality and delicious however the servings are sufficient, not bountiful. That said, I'd rather have a good meal of fabulous food than an overabundance of mediocre. Will definitely return...next time with friends in tow. read more

I had been to W&W before and had a better experience than the recent trip. I had ordered the cheese board in visits before and it was very satisfying and had a decent amount of cheese on the board for a party of three to share. This recent time I ordered it, was a joke. Three morsels of cheese with barely any pairings. The carrots didn't even get peeled or pickled. Just a joke of a board that cost $17.... that was egregious for the amount we received. I told the server I had expected more for the price I was paying. Took forever to get our bill or even order anything because they only had one server for the whole place.
