3th time was problem. Many items expired and staff is unpolite. You can see the picture. The gold color of cover remove only one side... This side is expire date... but staff remove and sold... STRICTLY for the Polish community, this one. They have some interesting Eastern European products that are hard to find anywhere else, but no one speaks English, and they don't seem to want to try, and they seem to resent the customer who doesn't speak Polish. So fine, right? BUT, NEVER order sandwiches, here. We have tried several times during the past few years, and it ALWAYS comes out wrong. The topping orders are a disaster, and some of the meat looks very questionable! But, the odd/charming/annoying part is the way they wrap your sandwich---on a small paper plate, with loose fitting plastic wrap, and toothpicks stuck in there to hold it together. read more

I've been taking my daughter to this deli since they were at the old location and we love it. The sandwiches are excellent, the salads and cakes are wonderful, and we love stocking up on all our now-familiar treats. I think what people are describing as coldness or rudeness is a language/culture difference. I can assure you the women that work here are very kind, wonderful women that will take there time to make you an amazing sandwich. Sometimes we go there after my daughter's doctors appt. and they seem to know it's been a rough one, because they treat her to a lollipop. Since I don't speak Polish, they are very patient with my limited understanding of their menu and all of my questions, and in turn, I'm patient with them. It's a great place! read more

Very rude staff, high prices and some items on the shelves are expired. Will not return.

The lady workers seem pretty racist and very rude if you ask me. I sometimes come by to get a soda since I live near. And I've always been polite and said hi how are you and they don't say anything or they just look at you. They only put a smile and talk to people that come in that only speak their language. And to anyone who thinks they don't speak English THEY DO. Not well but you can understand them and saying hi or thank you doesnt hurt. I was once buying soda and forgot my card. So the lady said it's $10 minimum to use a card. So I said okay no problem and went to get other stuff and asked her if this reaches the $10 and she said yes. Then she said it wasn't enough so I went to get another drink. Then she took a deep breath and was like "next time bring cash" when she noticed she was wrong AGAIN and it didn't reach $10. she was still able to use my card somehow and made me buy more stuff than I wanted. If you don't speak their language I wouldn't bother coming in unless you can handle their rudeness and ugly stares. Can't wait for Mr.Mango to open. Maybe they will treat others better. read more

Sandwiches were huge, cheap, good quality, super filling, and DAMN those fresh-made, crispy, garlic gherkins were some of the best I have EVER had! Problem is customer service. Four people behind the counter....and it took over 20 minutes for two sandwiches. The one woman who made both sandwiches was so nice I couldn't help but keep on my patience hat as we worked through some small languages barriers, her rather slow pace, and having to repeat myself....a lot. But the younger woman kept asking me if I needed another sandwich, took the sandwich order, then just walked away....like....literally....walked around the store with her hands in her pockets talking to two of the other women! I felt rather bad for the poor woman doing all the work behind the counter! Wasn't a huge fan of most I saw in the store beside the sandwiches (no chips even....which I get....but come on!). But I'd be hard pressed to come again, unless I was actively trying to kill a crap load of time. read more

This is a small Polish deli at the Southern end of town, near the development in the Harbor. There's some of the gruffness you get in Greenpoint, but the woman who sliced our meats was friendly and offered generous tastes. We saw the usual selection of hams and sausages, various types of kielbasi and kabanosy. Purchased some smoked pork ribs, but you won't find the full variety of smoked meats you'd get in one of the larger Brooklyn establishments. What seemed larger than usual was the selection of Polish grocery items, both refrigerated and on the shelves. There were also pastries and cakes but we did not try them. It's certainly competitive with the places in Yonkers and Norwalk. read more

I've been going to this store for years, even before it moved to Polaski Street. I usually buy about four of the Lithuanian breads, the Polish butter and once in a while the ham, # 91 I think? It's difficult asking any questions in English since no one there seems to speak it. The owner, the only man I have seen there, does speak perfect English, but he is not there very often. They are not the fastest, or friendliest people. It would be nice if one could communicate with them, but I'm not about to learn Polish. All in all, I say try the store out. The variety of products are intriguing. I often try something out just for the fun of it. read more

I usually go the the other polish deli on Elm street, but I was around.... my very last visit at this place for one reason only- owners and other worker incredibly rude, they act like they make you huge favor by servicing... guess what customers make you favor by shopping there! Authentic Polish deli. Had lovely Polish layered cakes and wide variety of foods. Overall great.
