Very homey, warm and welcoming. I went here this past weekend with the family to watch not ONE but TWO movies for only $10 dollars per person. This is a great deal especially since movie theaters usually per person cost around $11 -$13 for one movie. In addition, it's a drive thru, not that many in the US anymore so it's something different for the fam to enjoy. The staff is very hospitable, you enter past the booth and then you say which movie you want to watch and they direct you with parking, whether you want to pull in or back in. Funny story, my dad didn't know the difference between the two so he pulled in when he really wanted to back in and the service attendant helped him backed in. The drive thru has a concession stand with comfort food: mozz sticks, pizza, hot dogs, pretzels. However, we just brought our own sandwiches and snacks to save some more money. The one complaint I do have with the place is the quality of the restroom. At least a lock on the stall would help. With a successful drive in, I'm sure they can upgrade the bathroom. The movie starts at around 8:30 and they offer string so that mini vans can lower down the back so that others can see. You tune in your car's radio to the frequency. They have radios as well. At the end of the movies, our car actually gave out and we needed a jump start. There's a technician walking around so he jump started our car. All in all, great service, warm people, and great price for 2 movies, if you're able to stay up, this is a great place to visit! I'll be back here again! read more

Been here a couple of times and this place is well organized and kept up well. Cones and well marked signs to guide you into the entry (line for cash only and another for credit card & cash) and nice staff @ ticket booth. We arrived around 7:30p for the 8:20 Avengers Age of Ultron feature with Cinderella. Great price @$10pp. Many cars were already in spots but there were plenty left with really good views. They are pros at the drive-in biz - attendants walked around with rope to tie down rear van doors so that the guests behind it could enjoy an unobstructed view, they politely ask people who camp out with their chairs in open spots to clear it for others. Cars tune into the movie's audio via their own radio via designated stations marked on flyers handed out with tix. Convenient snack stand in middle with normal choices of popcorn, burgers and fries and beverages - not a ton. Overall: really 4.5 stars (-1/2 for the really cramped two person rest room but so minor). The experience is priceless for families of all ages. Brings family together for an awesome time. Absolutely should visit when in area! TIPS: bug spray, blankets, chairs, flashlight to walk to snack stand and rest rooms (it's really dark for viewing pleasure). read more

The bathrooms aren't for the feint of heart. The women's bathroom by the main concession stand has two stalls, one that will not open completely because of its position in relation to the sink. Suffice it to say, it is cramped and one must have ninja skills to keep from touching any of the surfaces. There are portapotties by the smaller concession stand and they're pretty gross too; if you attempt it, make sure you have a flashlight of some kind or better yet, night vision goggles cause it's practically pitch black out there. All the bathrooms smell horrid so brace yourself! Terrible bathroom conditions aside, there are 3 screens, usually playing double features on each (for some of the longer movies, they may just play one). There is a slide by the biggest screen for kids to play and a nice grassy area to walk your dog or play frisbee! All around great family environment. I've noticed over the past decade, more and more people aren't respecting rules/etiquette, some of which are as follows: -blatantly hogging up two spaces (for screens with poles, there is room for two cars between them) -keeping their lights on and causing a glare on the screen. I understand that some people use their car radios to listen which is fine, just be sure to turn your lights off or better yet, instead of running the risk of your battery dying, bring a portable FM radio. If your battery does die though, they sell jumper packs at the concession stand. -littering; there are garbage cans by the concession stands. -SUVs parked in front rows, blocking the view of those behind them (there are signs indicating that SUVs can not park in the front two rows) -vehicles with hatches that aren't tied down will sufficiently block the view of people behind. You can ask one of the people who work there for string to tie it down. They are usually wearing high visibility vests. Not trying to rant but perhaps help folks be a little more self aware so everyone can enjoy and have a good time! :) read more

Planning on heading out to my old favorite tonight... I've been a patron of the Warwick Drive-In for more than 35 years. Went to the web site to see what was playing and noticed a statement advising customers that a $2/ticket surcharge will be added for credit card payments. This is illegal in the state of New York: "N.Y. General Business Law §518 No seller in any sales transaction may impose a surcharge on a holder who elects to use a credit card in lieu of payment by cash, check, or similar means. Any seller who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 or a term of imprisonment up to one year, or both." I'm really annoyed that they expect customers to just roll over and pony up and additional $8 for a family of 4. On hill so everyone gets to see. Being van if can n sit in trunk makes it fun. Can also sit on your lawn chair you bring. Rentals n snacks reasonable priced. $11 ticket per person n $ 5 radio rental if sit outside. If in car, listen with radio. Very nice experience n fun. This was such a cute experience and definitely not your average movie night. My friend and I bought a Groupon for $19. 2 movie tickets for a double feature and 2 large popcorns. How can you go wrong? Even though I felt like the woman working the ticket booth was rude and then became extra rude when we said we have a Groupon ... I would return again in warmer weather. I've always wanted to go to a drive-in theater! I came here last night (07/31/17) because my boyfriend had bought a groupon a while ago but we never got around to using it. It came with two tickets and two popcorns. They always seemed to have double feature movies, which is such a good deal! Even if you pay for the tickets which is $10, you're still getting a great price. The gates open at 7PM, so come early and get a good spot. They will designate you to what screen you'll have to go to. The first two rows from the screen are only for sedans. The first row is a good distance from the screen, so your eyes and head won't hurt compared to if you were super close to the screen in the movie theaters. I had an SUV, so I went to the third row, which I thought was a perfect view as it wasn't close, but it wasn't too far. If you plan on opening up your trunk, it says you're supposed to have the top tied down. Watching from the driver and passenger seats were completely fine though. You can also bring lawn chairs to sit on if you wanna sit outside. If you have a boombox/radio, I recommend bringing that as I did in case of the slightest chance your car battery dies although the place says it's fine to keep on as long as you're not doing other excessive things such as charging your phone. If your car happens to die, hopefully someone has jumper cables, or you'll have to pay for some from the theater. The concession stand was in the middle of the parking which is convenient. It's cash only though. It's cheaper than regular movie theaters, but doesn't seem completely worth it to buy. Everyone pretty much brought their own food/candy/drinks here. Overall, I thought the drive-in experience was great. If you come here, come prepared with food, blankets, chairs, a radio, and whatever else you can think of. I have been coming to this drive-in for decades. It's always been so much more fun watching a movie while outdoors at night.  A few years ago, I would've given it 5 stars. Not anymore... Now the people who run this place are all about making the most money they can- even if it means ruining it for everyone else. It doesn't matter if you get there nice & early, grab a good spot and have everything set up & settled down- you are constantly told to move your vehicle to make more room for others who are just showing up. Even once the place is full, they just keep letting people in. Even if the movie has already begun, the cars keep coming in. You end up with cars half a foot from you on both sides. Instead of enjoying the movie, you spend most of your time wondering if the kids that are constantly getting in and out of the car next to you, are dinging up the side of your car. Also- I'm not sure if the drive-in ever had an actual rule about turning your car off, or if people are just a**holes these days and have zero consideration for others, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy the outdoors, when people leave their cars running, just so they can sit there with the windows up and a/c blasting. If you want a/c- go watch a movie in a theater! The place is now full of diesel trucks idling away and cars with daytime running lights that can't fully be turned off if the car is left running. You end up breathing in exhaust fumes and watching people around you trying to come up with clever ways of blocking their headlights with lawn chairs and blankets. Simple- JUST TURN YOUR CAR OFF! If you can't listen to your radio unless the car is on, you can rent a portable radio from the drive-in for only 5 bucks! All that is necessary to make the Warwick Drive-In great again, are 2 simple, little things- 1. Spray paint some designated parking lines on the ground. 2. Ticket lady is an a-hole. My husband paid for his car and mine (I was behind him with a car full of kids) first she laughed at him for wanting to pay for my car. And then continued to flag me down yelling that I didn't take the flyer with the radio station that corresponds to the film. After I explained to her that the car in front of me paid for us and we were together and that I have been here 100 times she continued to be nasty by saying well I didn't know that and you're not going to see nothing without knowing what station to put on. I have been wanting to go to an old school drive in for years, and I finally found this place!Just a short drive out of the city, double features for $11 per person, portable bathrooms, a snack bar, and to watch the sun go down. Perfect for a date night, or to plan a trip with the family. I have a jeep and I put my back seats down and covered it in blankets and pillows- I loved it so much that I am going back this weekend! Definitely something to do during the summer, and dogs are welcome so that's a huge plus! Love it here. Tip: bring a portable battery operated radio so you don't have to leave your car on. The experience here is great because it's not the average movie theater you see anymore. However over the years it seems the drive in is getting less and less cared for. The snack stand is great and has a lot of options to choose from. Also, the price for the movie is only $11 per adult which isn't so bad. However, the bathroom needs to be upgraded and thoroughly cleaned. It was absolutely disgusting and was very difficult to use because it was crammed and to small to sit on the toilet. This place is too cute to be true. It's sooo perfect for a date. If you have a truck you can park in reverse and sit in the back. I went last summer and felt like I had just teleported back in time. How often can you say that? In a good way? There's a supermarket next door so you can stock up on snacks. Love, Love, Love the Warwick Drive-In. I used to go as a kid, but then started going more frequently in the last few years. We probably go 5-6 times every summer. It still has an old school feel with old slides that annouce the show and intermission. You use the radio through your car to listen to the movie, but on the handout they let you know that running your radio all night is equivalent to one "start" - so no need to worry about that. You can see two movies for $8 per person, which is absolutely incredible, and be in the comfort of your own car. Before the movie starts, they have a slide (literally from the 1970's) that kids love to play on and run around. (I used to love that slide!) We bring the dog, get some food at the snack bar and have a great night. There are regular bathrooms and a full size snack bar at the Big Screen, with smaller snack bars/portajohns at the two smaller screens. Be sure to patronize the snack bar - most of the money made on tickets is returned to the movie vendors and the way the Drive-In pays for its costs is through the snack bar sales. I have so many memories of going to the drive-in with the parents, going down the slide in front of the main screen, bringing bags of popcorn, sleeping on the way home. Good times. The smell of the food from the concessions, the late-summer/early-fall air, the sound of kids running about and playing... I can't wait for our daughter to be older so we can take her along. We're going sans baby this weekend and I can't wait! A few things: Yes, they charge by the person. Whoopie doo. Movie theatres charge by the person, and it's much more expensive *AND* it's never a double feature. Don't be a dick by "hiding" your pals in the car. If you can't afford the $8, stay the f^%$ home. Asshats. And although they won't crucify you if you bring your own popcorn, be sure to buy some stuff at the snack bar. There's snacky foods available at reasonable prices. Came here for a date with my boyfriend. It was nice because it was very different and we have never been to a drive-in theater before. They play different movies during certain time and they play 3 or 2 movies at a time so you have the option of picking which movie to watch. The snack bar has a wide variety of food and drinks. The theater is right behind a huge shop aide so you have the option of buying your own snacks. At first we got lost in the theater because driving inside the lot is like a maze and it didn't help that it was super dark and raining. You can bring your own food but no alcohol, you can bring blankets, pillows, chairs, heck your dog (I've seen it) but keep in mind once you pay your ten bucks (per person) and you drive in you CANNOT leave the theater, not even on foot, they have a strict policy about this. 4. About two minutes away, there's a chase bank, supermarket, subway, pizza shop, heck liquor store. You can walk there from the theater but just don't pay yet. 5. Seriously would have loved to have given this place five stars... I had to take a star off for the "rent-a-cops" that they have wandering around the place with pistols strapped to their belts. We used to come here all the time as kids, I remember seeing one of my favorite movies of all time (SpaceBalls) on screen 2 when it first opened. Anyway, we wanted to bring our DD and niece to see Toy Story 3 and since DD can get a little crazy (she's 2 1/2) we thought the Drive-In would be perfect because she wouldn't mess up others peoples night at the movies when she loses her mind. We went on a Friday night and it was packed! We got there about 30 min. before the show started and I would say that the place was already 60% full. I'd go super early if you want a prime spot. While planning a weekend trip to the Warwick area, I came across information about the Drive-in theatre. I was so super psyched as I haven't been to one in over 20 years and my boyfriend had never been to one. I can't say that my sedan was the best car to roll up in as many of the regulars looked much more comfortable in their SUVs and pickup trucks in terms of space, comfort and the ability to navigate those not so perfect parking spots on hills. One piece of information you should come equipped with- know how to turn off you rights even if you have daytime running lights. Consistent headlights are frowned upon. The price is ridiculously low and includes a double feature. In our case, we kinda hated the thought of the 2 pictures offered and asked if we could move in between movies. The lady was nice and face a special sticker to allow for this, but I'm pretty certain people made the move without pre-approval. I actually wish we did like the double feature since we had a perfect spot at the 1st screen and the 2nd was a bit challenging to get to based on the traffic flows. They offer a concession stand with lots of options and seemingly unlimited porta potties as well. I pretty much loved this place. The one caveat is we went in the summer, I can't imagine going in the winter (not even sure they're open then). read more

If there is one thing I miss about living in North Jersey, it's the fact that it is home to one of the last drive-in movie theaters in the Northeast. I don't understand people that complain about paying per person rather than per car as some other places do. Maybe that's why those other places went out of business? Screen 1 had a horrible high-pitched feedback screech the entire show, which was 30+ minutes delayed by a total lack of sound for just that screen. The noise was so bad we were left with the choice to either leave 10 minutes in when it became unbearable, or watch the movie at such a low volume that half the dialog was inaudible. Super disappointing experience. We love drive ins and have had great experiences before and even spent $15+ at the consessions stand to show our support but in the end I just felt treated like crap. Sure it was an off day for the theater, but we were still there and still there customers. No one was friendly, there was no sense of urgency repairing the audio, and zero apparent effort to fix the screech. If you are anywhere remortly near upstate ny, I strongly strongly recommend you go to the Hoosick drive in instead. They're amazing up there and, in my experience at least, the experience is 100 times better. read more
