As a guest here of 7 nights, I'm truly amazed by this hotel. While I didn't get the chance to visit the Library or the Landmark, there is something special about this hotel that makes me feel very relaxed and indulged. You definitely need to order their room service. Their food is surprisingly very good like ordering at a top tier Vegas hotel. I must have ordered like 4-5 times during my stay. Lol! For a 100+ year old hotel, the experience definitely exceeded my expectations. I think the only small complaint I have is the front desk; I think the 2 gentlemen there need to be less stiff and smile more imo. Other than that, they did provide good customer service. The building deserves five stars all by itself. The Warwick Melrose is a 1924 grande dame at the edge of Oak Lawn and Turtle Creek, and a century of Dallas history shows in the best ways. Our corner suite was spacious, elegant, and full of character. If a hotel were only its walls, this review would read very differently. But hotels are people, and that is where this stay fell flat. Nobody was rude to us, and nobody was welcoming either. Check-in, the hallways, every touchpoint felt like a transaction to get through. Vanilla is the kindest word I have. A property with this much soul deserves a staff that matches it, and we kept waiting for that to show up. The saving grace was the Library Bar off the lobby. Dark, cozy, wingback chairs, a real step back into the Jazz Age. One honest heads-up: we were told there would be live jazz, and it turned out to be one gentleman at a piano. He played well, but know that this is a piano bar, not a jazz club, and set your expectations there. Three stars. If we find ourselves in the neighborhood we would happily duck into the Library for a nightcap, but for our next Dallas stay we will be trying somewhere new. read more

The Warwick Melrose hotel is located centrally just outside Downtown Dallas in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, which is the local LGBTQ gayborhood. In an old apartment building and recently renovated in 2021, the rooms are super spacious and decorated in a traditional yet elegant way with modern touches. While there's no free guest parking, they do offer valet for a fee ($45/night) and one can easily find free street parking nearby as well. The staff is friendly, check-in easy, and overall it was a fantastic stay. In fact, I'd love to give it 5 stars... here's why I didn't: There's a $20 nightly amenity fee - but (according to their website) it's for the fitness center, internet, and a bottle of water - which it appears the front desk team forgot to offer when I checked in (and I wasn't aware of), so I never received any. If you've registered your stay with Warwick Journeys, they will also send you several emails selling you on spa experiences, room upgrades, and the hotel bar and restaurant offerings which tend to feel more like a cash grab than a relaxed stay. They do have a well-appointed fitness center in the basement, one floor below the lobby. A keycard is required both for the elevator - for all guest room floors as well as for the basement - and for the fitness center entry. There is also a beautiful pool which, unfortunately, I did not have the time to check out. That said, the hotel is walking distance to all of the Oak Lawn nightlife "the strip," as well as local coffeeshop favorite La La Land Kind Café. Uptown Dallas is a short 5 minute ride away. I would absolutely return - with a great location, relaxed, clean, and well-maintained guest rooms, and helpful staff, the Warwick Melrose Dallas has it all. read more

We try to make it to Dallas every year during the holiday seasons to do a little shopping and revisit the old town I used to live in. There are a couple of hotels that we stay at and this is one of our go-to's as it's in a nice area with great restaurants that are easy to get to and since it's an older hotel, they have nice size rooms with updated bathrooms and showers which are very cool. But the best part for me and my wife is the Library Bar downstairs which has rotating entertainment that cover the music spectrum which keeps the bar patrons, lively and dancing. You'll find everybody pretty well represented in the crowd from seniors like myself to young kids on the first dates and everyone in between. It's truly a spectacle and fun to be a part of occasionally. Great drinks, great staff, good looking bar in a good location but also serves a pretty good food their bar menu. read more

I so want to give Warwick Melrose 5 stars, but just a few things keep it at a 3. First, we were in room 425, and it is beautiful, but if you want to sleep, forget it; you are on the corner of what has to be the loudest part of the city. You hear everything outside (planes, fire trucks, drunks arguing), and your neighbors next to you pretty well, too. The noise was a bummer. Second, as clean as the hotel is and as nice as your room is, the same "blood testing strip" was on the carpet by our room from Thursday to Sunday. Fairly gross. Lastly, the Landmark for dinner was a total disappointment. The prime rib was just awful for a prime rib restaurant, and I will do a separate review on that. The only good part of the whole experience was Dovie, the fantastic hostess. The highlights were breakfast at the Landmark, the Library for snacks and drinks, and the walkability to great coffee shops and restaurants from the hotel. read more

BEWARE -- Horrible customer service and serious concerns about integrity. I stayed at this hotel in Dallas and accidentally left behind a very expensive designer bag. The staff initially told me they found it and would ship it back to me. I paid for the shipping label immediately and expected a simple process. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. I have had to call more than a dozen times with almost no response. The representative, Ana, repeatedly failed to return calls or emails. After they supposedly "shipped" the package, I was told FedEx could not provide any information because the hotel created the shipment on my behalf -- meaning I have zero visibility into the tracking or status. As of today, I still do not know where my bag is, and the hotel has been completely unresponsive. At this point, I'm genuinely concerned that the item may have never been shipped and could have been mishandled or taken. For a branded hotel, this level of communication, accountability, and transparency is completely unacceptable. If you value your belongings or customer service, avoid this property. read more

We stayed at the property over the weekend and booked our room through Booking.com. Upon arrival, the front desk informed us that our reserved room had been overbooked. Consequently, we were downgraded from a corner room to a deluxe king, which was smaller and not the room type we had paid for. No suitable solution was offered, and as we were too tired to dispute the matter further, we accepted the room. Instead, we were provided with an expired 15% discount voucher for a restaurant in the lobby, which added to our disappointment. Furthermore, the downgraded room was listed at a lower price on the website, yet no refund or adjustment was issued. At no point did any staff member offer an apology or acknowledge the inconvenience. We raised the matter with Booking.com, who informed us that the hotel had refused to provide any resolution, which reflects very poorly on the property's standard of service. read more

I've stayed here numerous times and it's always been good. This last visit, not so much! Ate dinner in the bar, the margherita pizza was good but very soggy. Ordered room service the next night. A simple burger and fries. Fries were stale and cold. And the burger buns were very soggy on both sides. The food has gone down. Oh, and the "full length terry cloth robe" is actually a short thin waffle polyester robe. Good grief! Check-in with Madison was lovely and the fellas in valet are so welcoming, kind and efficient. Needed to stay somewhere nearby the Lovefield airport and this hotel is only 8 minutes away. Now I know you can stay somewhere else that's a closer proximity to the airport but seriously why would you not want to stay at a beautiful historical landmark?! The architecture inside the lobby is just exquisite. The rooms are clean and especially the bathroom, it's gorgeous!! I stayed on the 8th floor and the views exude such a nostalgic feeling. Yes can you hear the noise of sirens sometimes but I don't care. I am there to be a part of the landmark and I appreciate it. They have a great bar selection in the fridge with wine glasses ready to be poured along with great goodies to snack on!! You definitely have to try the Prime Rib Landmark restaurant! Request for Dustin to be your server, he is seriously "above the bar" on providing excellent service! When you are done with dinner go to their highly rated Library Bar!! They have live music and it was such a blast! I'm from California and I will be back soon in Dallas to stay at The Warwick Melrose again. read more

We stayed at this hotel for free using our points at Hotel.com and we loved every minute of it! We nabbed the Deluxe suite and it was everything we needed for our stay. There was a separate sitting and dining area and even a small kitchenette in the space. The room offered a desk as well which allowed my husband to work while I was still resting quietly in bed in the other room. From the moment we got there everyone was really friendly and helpful, and having valet in the back was super convenient. This is a beautiful, well-kept hotel with plenty of amenities close by, like a Walgreens, and a great location downtown. My husband and I will definitely return for another visit! read more

I am beyond upset, if you book a room with two beds the basic expectation is that is what you will get. Yet we get here after a 6 hour drive and they give us a King bed for 4 people! Super confused because that is not what we booked so you now expect us to cram 2 adults and 2 kids into 1 bed because yall fucked up. Ridiculous for the amount of money being charged here they cant seem to get and honor what the customer books. Avoid at all costs, its not worth the headache you will encounter here especially when there are way more places that know how to honor and understand something as simple as a reservation you paid for. Fuck this place, now we have to cram ourselves and our kids after a long trip in a room with 1 bed that we didnt book nor wanted. Stay away people, wish we would have listened more to the negative reviews. Do better! read more

Great location for PRIDE. The hotel is located in the uptown area of Dallas. There are restaurants, bars, and shops in a two block radius. Parking is valet only but quick. The have a great mobile site to request your car. Inside the lobby is updated but period appropriate. The bar of the lobby is cozy and full service. Open till 11 PM with live music every day except Sunday. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Most importantly the room, with mini bar was well appointed. The bed was firm but not hard or worn out. There is plenty of room for two to get ready for the evening after a day at the pool and massage at Le Spa. Go, relax, and recharge! read more

I am very disappointed with my stay here July 5th to the 8th. We were in Room 813. The phone did not work so they moved us to 816. That phone also didn't work. Needless to say, we had to move all our stuff and when checking out of our stay, I realized that I was missing my blue checked bonavi sneakers. They were never found. Someone must have taken them. I was told by management that I would receive an email and text from them which I never did. They are ignoring my phone calls. I am very upset that they employ people that would steal from their patrons. Be careful if you decide to stay here! read more

I stayed here Christmas Eve 2024. I ate at the new Landmark Prime Rib Restaurant and stayed in Room 610. The Prime Rib was horrible- so tough and was overcooked. I ordered a Prosecco and it was hot I had the ask my waiter to get me another one. I forgot my Navy Blazer and Brown & Navy striped blouse in the closet and have left numerous voicemails for the general manager Chris and housekeeping and never received a return call. Of cource Housekeeping never located my items- Merry Christmas to whomever got those. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here nor eat here-The new renovations are beautiful however, not enough to make up for the absolutely unacceptable customer service and lack of hospitality it takes to run a Uptown Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Oh golly, I almost made a huge mistake. I flew into Dallas for a national exam I had paid thousands of dollars for..all to back up an education I'd paid thousands upon thousands upon..well you get the idea. So I fly in for this incredibly important and expensive exam and foolishly decide to go cheap by getting an air bnb..only to seriously regret my decision the second I stepped into it. My friend saw where I was staying and immediately grabbed my bag and said we're getting you into Warwick..and I am incredibly grateful for the result of his impulsiveness. The Warwick had a group discount for those taking the exam, but of course I had missed it. The gentleman at the front desk took pity on my poor planning and worked his magic to get me a room in an already booked hotel at the discount, it was incredible hospitality. I still remember walking into the immaculate and elegantly decorated room and breathing a sigh of relief, here I would be able to spend the final days studying and preparing in a relaxing environment. The decorations and furnishings in both the rooms and throughout the hotel are luxurious. The bed was incredibly comfortable with soft linen and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was spacious and I enjoyed the smell of the provided toiletries. The room was very comfortable and quiet and it made it pleasant for studying and preparing for such an important day. While there I visited the dining room downstairs for most of my meals and was equally impressed with both the food and the excellent and friendly service. Each meal was delicious and both the hostess and servers made my stay enjoyable. It was so nice to not have to worry about finding meals while studying. On the exam day it was a cinch to walk downstairs and be picked up by the shuttle for my exam. Had I stayed elsewhere, I would have had to worry about getting there for pick up that morning. I'm pleased to say that with a restful and quiet location I was able to spend the last couple days preparing, received a good night's rest prior to the exam, and passed it with ease. I have often thought of my good fortune in changing hotels and how important the peaceful environment was in facilitating my readiness for that big day. I know the Warwick plays host to many exam candidates for a variety of fields, I can only encourage you to make your test day as stress free as possible. read more

This was a great hotel for the price and the location! We really enjoyed how easy it was to walk or ride scooters everywhere. The hotel is a little dated but decorated very nicely. The service was also outstanding no matter where we were in the hotel, that was great. The pool was nice but it could use a few more umbrellas for sunny days and maybe a couple of more chairs--we saw people sitting on the ground by a wall because there was nowhere else to sit. This place is so LOUD! The pool seems to have a lot of events that go late into the night, and people's voices/screams seem to echo off the buildings. They randomly had an event at the pool Sunday afternoon that had insanely loud music (and lots of people screaming) that didn't end until later that night. It was so loud my windows were vibrating from the bass. The night before there seemed to be a marching band in the parking lot with people screaming at midnight. read more

Located on the corner of Oak Lawn and Cedar Springs, it is convenient to all things in the gayborhood. Dubbed a historical landmark, the hotel's architecture is charming. Although, I think my only real complaint about the hotel is that my room was facing Cedar Springs on the 2nd floor. This location was super noisy and woke me up on a couple of occasions. I should have insisted on a higher floor and away from the street facing sides. There is only valet parking which is a whopping $27 bucks plus tax. I didn't get a chance to dine at the hotel's restaurant or bar, but there are some options for food and drinks in the hotel, including room service. If you are taking an Uber/Lyft/Taxi, there is a front and a back side to the hotel. Pay attention to what side you've summoned your car. read more

You wouldn't expect holes in sheets at these prices. I always love staying here however lately the experience has been less than satisfactory. On the other hand their valet, Landmark waitstaff and front desk staff are amazing. Wish I could say the same for the waitress in the bar... just rude! We stayed for 5 days over Thanksgiving and while we enjoyed our stay, there is definite room for improvement. The front desk staff was very nice and professional throughout our stay, but when we entered our room, I noticed that one of the luggage racks was broken and it took 3 phone calls and an hour long wait before it was finally replaced. The walls are very thin, so I strongly suggest bringing a sound machine or using an app. We were also confused about how to connect to wi-fi and after directions from the front desk, we thought all was well, until we checked out and noticed we had been charged daily for wi-fi. Of course, the charges were refunded. They also charge a daily facility fee of $20 which is equivalent to a resort fee. For this extra fee, one would expect bottles of water to be stocked in your room, which they are not. I had no idea about this charge prior to my stay and because I am in Dallas often, I will definitely compare prices of other hotels. While I do love the nostalgia and service that is synonymous with older hotels, I do not like surprise charges and I do not want to belong to a club just to avoid fees. All in all, we did enjoy our stay, and I liked that I could order my car via a text link, although, once, they did not get my text and I had to wait longer than I intended. read more
