M & M skewer appetizer! (Stands for mushroom and meatball)
    Crystal R.

I'm always so hesitant to check out the sushi scene in Fayetteville because I feel so spoiled by the amazing sushi I've had in the Triangle. Honestly, I haven't had "good" sushi in Fayetteville for awhile so I was excited to check out Wasabi. I was able to go to Wasabi with my dad so I have a good idea of their hibachi food and sushi items. I ordered the green tea which came in a decently larger size pot and it was good. We ordered the M & M (mushroom and meatball) appetizer and we will never order that again--or at least I won't. The mushrooms were really greasy and not fried well at all. I could barely eat one and just gave up. The meatballs, however, were good but a bit dry for my taste. Definitely not enough to save the failure of the mushroom though! I ordered the Kansui and Black Dragon roll and wasn't particularly wow-ed. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but the flavors just weren't coming through to me. The presentation of the sushi looked great but it was surprisingly bland considering how unique the Kansui roll is (cucumber instead of seaweed to hold everything together) and the ingredients in the Black Dragon roll (particularly the eel). In terms of other sushi places I've tried in Fayetteville, Wasabi is decent but I don't know if I'll ever venture out there anytime soon. It also didn't help that the prices weren't BOGO--I hate paying full price for so-so sushi. My dad had the hibachi combo with steak and shrimp. He didn't even touch the fried rice... At first, I just thought he was full but when I asked him about it he just said it wasn't good. I tried some and he was definitely right. The fried rice is just not cooked well and bland as well--definitely will not try this ever again from here. Everything else was good he claims though. We ordered two take-out items for my mother and sister which were a California roll, hibachi salmon and udon noodles. They claimed their food was good although my sister said the salmon came with this weird glaze she just kinda scrapped off. The service was good though! I really liked our server who was patient with us as we took awhile to order and even more time to order additional take-out meals (asking tons of questions, of course) and was available if we needed anything with a convenient button on our table. Overall, I will probably not go out of my way to go back to Wasabi. If my dad wants to go again, I'd try it but I don't think I'll be recommending Wasabi to any of my friends or fellow yelpers anytime soon.

I ordered through yelp which I was little skeptical about but it turned out great! I was visiting my boyfriend in the army and we couldn't decide what we wanted to it so I came across this place on yelp. I ordered the food and waited until yelp updated me on when it was ready. The staff was very friendly. I picked up the food quick and easy. They gave us a lot of white sauce (personally I'm not a fan of but it my fault for not putting "no white sauce/ all terriyaki). The food was hot and fresh and fulfilling with a really good flavor to it. I would definitely go back and I know my boyfriend will be eating there.

This place has great deals for yummy sushi. We got 3 rolls, 2 pieces of nigiri and hot sake only for $40... this will probably be the new date night out place for my partner and I. Only slightly weird thing is the location for me but that definitely won't stop me from coming back!

This place has the look and feel of a sushi house. It doesn't seat much, but I never judge taste based off the size of the restaurant. My waitress Jasmine was very gracious and helpful when she noticed I was having trouble with my selection of sushi. She easily went down the list and marked the popular ones and the ones she enjoyed eating herself. I chose one of her favorites, and it was great! Beauty Sushi Roll comes with 8. I did not want to destruct the art, but this dish brings layers of goodness until it goes down your tummy. I am not from North Carolina but was in town for work and happened to stumble across the place because it was close to my hotel. Fate brought us together. If i ever go back, I will for sure visit again!

The food is great and so are the prices for the portions. It's presented beautifully and the interior is nicely designed as well. It's small but perfect for date night. We both ordered sweet tea and it was perfect, meaning not too sweet and not bitter. The servers were so kind they greet you as you enter and thank you as you exit. I'm allergic to seafood but my husband had the sushi rolls and he loved them. 10/10

This is the best Japanese spot in Fayetteville! Every thing is so fresh it's like they have a garden out back or something! Food is sooo flavorful and the staff has awesome customer service!

Seriously good. The yelpers got this so right! We had fabulous service and every item we tried was fantastic. Best pork dumplings we've eaten and loved the sesame sauce. Sushi fresh. Hibachi steak was perfectly done. I'm a native to Fayetteville and still visit frequently from out of state - will make this a must do on our next trip! Ironically, 13 years ago the building was my favorite Chinese restaurant China Chef

Decided on sushi for lunch, but because of nap time for my son, we decided to get it to-go. Upon recommendations from several friends and after reading many, many great reviews, we decided to order from Wasabi. It did not disappoint!!! The rolls were so fresh and flavorful! I kind of wish they were spicier, but because they tasted so good I'm not even going to complain about that! Bottom is yum yum roll, middle is grenade roll, and top is rainbow crunch. This filled up two people nicely for around $35. Definitely a fan and will be going back.... Just wish it didn't take me so long to find it in the first place.

I will say, however, that the batter for the Calamari was too soft...also cut too large. The thing that bothered me was how they did not offer a spoon or a fork (just the chopsticks) when I clearly ordered a rice dish. Did they expect me to eat rice with my chopsticks?!? This is a running pet peeve of mine in restaurants nowadays...as so many have gotten so stingy about offering spoons and/or forks...let alone a complete set of silverware. In fact, they gave me a cheap plastic spoon!!! Just WOW. I just don't get this ...especially from such a nice, little restaurant. I mean, this is not McDonald's! Immediately dropped their class level down a notch. I just don't appreciate how so many restaurants have degenerated like this in recent years (following Covid). Again, this seems to be an issue not just here, but many others I've been. Guess I could have really liked this restaurant, but this plastic spoon thing killed it for me. Still, the foods were good enough to return.

The conveyor belt had a decent selection with plenty to choose from, I enjoyed what I had, nothing that blew me out of the water, but solid for the price. Hot appetizers ordered through their tablet were also enjoyable and worth it for the value. The hibachi entrées, however, were a letdown. My protein was dry, and while I get that most people probably come here for sushi, the other menu items shouldn't feel like an afterthought. Service-wise, we were seated in a corner near the bathroom, a "blind spot" where staff can't see the table directly. Plates started piling up fast, and eventually we had to flag someone at the register to clear them. The manager came over right away, was genuinely apologetic, and took care of it. While I understand that it's the dinne rush, I still want to make the point that we didn't just have a few plates, it got to the point where we barely had room to eat. For tables in blind spots, there needs to be more attention from the staff so things don't get that backed up. The ambiance isn't terrible in other parts of the restaurant, but sitting in a blind spot feels awkward, especially when your view is a shelf stacked with cardboard boxes. Overall, I want to rate it between 3-4 stars, but Yelp doesn't really give that option. The value is there, especially for Fayetteville, but there's room for improvement in both food consistency and service attentiveness.

Having been to several Hibachi-style restaurants, myself, I had an idea as what we could expect. This was not the case, here. In the past, I always enjoyed a more theatrical element during hibachi meal preparation. By current definition, it should be an entertaining event with the chef, making jokes, doing culinary tricks, and showing off remarkable skills. Nope. First, we had to wait a long time for the chef to show up. They seem to have been short handed since it only appeared that there were 3 chefs at work. When our chef finally showed up, he seemed bored and irritated, and had the demeanor of a line cook. He simply prepared the food, cleaned up, and left. Not at all what I was used to. No conversation, no onion volcano, tricks with the egg, no fake ketchup bottle with string... no personality. Also, much of our meal was left out. The waiter forgot our salads, never paid us much attention, never bothered to re-fill our drinks, and seemed just as indifferent as the chef. The vegetable portion of the hibachi meal was also missing broccolli and mushrooms. It was as if the veggi delivery truck didn't showed up that day. I was pretty disappointed having talked-up the experience to my friends, who were just as bored watching some guy listlessly cook their food. The thing that really bothered me was that for the price of the food, you DO pay a little more for the experience. Without that, it just isn't worth the price. I can see why they automatically added the gratuity. We could have just gone to the buffet on Bragg blvd. and saved a lot of money for the same meal. The restaurant was also dark, dingy, greasy, and in desperate need of renovation. With so many other dining options available in Fayetteville, we will not be coming here again.
