My chicken bento didn't come w the tempura as advertised, the roll that came with it was mostly all rice, the chicken was so over cooked that I didn't eat it, tako taki was so so dried, and tempura.... Dear lord.....My broccoli tempura was RAW. Yes, I know it takes longer to make broccoli tempura, that's why you start frying it before other veggies. I'm always so hesitant to check out the sushi scene in Fayetteville because I feel so spoiled by the amazing sushi I've had in the Triangle. Honestly, I haven't had "good" sushi in Fayetteville for awhile so I was excited to check out Wasabi. I was able to go to Wasabi with my dad so I have a good idea of their hibachi food and sushi items. I ordered the green tea which came in a decently larger size pot and it was good. We ordered the M & M (mushroom and meatball) appetizer and we will never order that again--or at least I won't. The mushrooms were really greasy and not fried well at all. I could barely eat one and just gave up. The meatballs, however, were good but a bit dry for my taste. Definitely not enough to save the failure of the mushroom though! I ordered the Kansui and Black Dragon roll and wasn't particularly wow-ed. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but the flavors just weren't coming through to me. The presentation of the sushi looked great but it was surprisingly bland considering how unique the Kansui roll is (cucumber instead of seaweed to hold everything together) and the ingredients in the Black Dragon roll (particularly the eel). In terms of other sushi places I've tried in Fayetteville, Wasabi is decent but I don't know if I'll ever venture out there anytime soon. It also didn't help that the prices weren't BOGO--I hate paying full price for so-so sushi. My dad had the hibachi combo with steak and shrimp. He didn't even touch the fried rice... At first, I just thought he was full but when I asked him about it he just said it wasn't good. I tried some and he was definitely right. The fried rice is just not cooked well and bland as well--definitely will not try this ever again from here. Everything else was good he claims though. We ordered two take-out items for my mother and sister which were a California roll, hibachi salmon and udon noodles. They claimed their food was good although my sister said the salmon came with this weird glaze she just kinda scrapped off. The service was good though! I really liked our server who was patient with us as we took awhile to order and even more time to order additional take-out meals (asking tons of questions, of course) and was available if we needed anything with a convenient button on our table. Overall, I will probably not go out of my way to go back to Wasabi. If my dad wants to go again, I'd try it but I don't think I'll be recommending Wasabi to any of my friends or fellow yelpers anytime soon. read more

First time at Wasabi, and we are thoroughly pleased. A l little after lunch rush, so it was pretty empty so that was plus. Very small restaurant, but I kind of liked that. The service was top-notch. Our server, Megan, was extremely helpful and super nice. I mentioned a food allergy and she kept that in mind the entire visit and proactively addressed menu items and recommended substitutions based on that. You don't get that many places, especially in Fayetteville. Food was terrific and the fried ice cream was a great finishing touch. Will definitely be back to Wasabi. read more

I ordered through yelp which I was little skeptical about but it turned out great! I was visiting my boyfriend in the army and we couldn't decide what we wanted to it so I came across this place on yelp. I ordered the food and waited until yelp updated me on when it was ready. The staff was very friendly. I picked up the food quick and easy. They gave us a lot of white sauce (personally I'm not a fan of but it my fault for not putting "no white sauce/ all terriyaki). My waitress Jasmine was very gracious and helpful when she noticed I was having trouble with my selection of sushi. She easily went down the list and marked the popular ones and the ones she enjoyed eating herself. I chose one of her favorites, and it was great! Beauty Sushi Roll comes with 8. I did not want to destruct the art, but this dish brings layers of goodness until it goes down your tummy. The cost was $180 dollars, the owner was given a 30 day notice however; did not share this with guests. This is the best sushi I've had since being in Fayetteville. There's other places to try but so far this place has fresh fish that just melts in your mouth. Service was excellent too. Only negative is that the 2 person tables felt really small. We like to try several rolls at a time and it was difficult to get more than a plate on the table so we had to pull another one over. I was in the restuarant at the same time and all customers in the restaurant had received the heads up to move their own cars if they parked in the another parking lot right next to the building. I noticed they were very rude and yelling towards owner and staff in the restaurant even if I was at the corner of the restaurant. They didn't care about other customers' cherised moment. Service was a bit slow. One poor girl (pregnant too!) was covering the whole place by herself at lunch. She was hustling but I still waited almost 10 minutes for water and a menu. After my order was taken things picked up though and I didn't wait long for sushi or the shrimp bento box I ordered. I didn't fault the server. Like I said, she was hustling! The food was outstanding though. This was my third or fourth trip there but I normally get takeout. This time I dined in alone. The shrimp bento was delicious and very filling. The shrimp were a little on the small side but they were any bigger I couldn't have finished the meal ;) it comes with shrimp, a few pieces of tempura (shrimp, sweet potato, onion, etc) with a nice, sweet hot sauce, three pieces of Cali roll and fried rice. The rice alone if worth a trip. Was very flavorful without being salty. I also ordered tuna sushi which was great. Today's special is half off desserts so I got ice cream to go. I didn't have any room for it. $25 total for lunch (with tip) seems a bit much but it was definitely a full meal and delicious. The decore of the restaurant is very modern. The TV they have in the main dinning room is kinda distracting, since the atmosphere doesn't really scream sports bar. The food was above average. We had vegetable tempura, which tasted very fresh. We also ordered 4 different rolls of sushi. They weren't over the top good, they were just ok. The rolls are somewhat small and plain. I would have gave one more start if their waitresses could have done a better job. There were only two of them with about 10 customers tops at one time, but they seemed very frantic and not organized for some reason. It took forever to take order, then took forever to get check. The different waitress came back and forth to the same table asked the same questions while one of them could have attend another table.
