Be VERY careful ordering from this restaurant if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. We have been regular customers of Hiro for the past several years but lately, I have noticed an alarming decline in service. Our family is careful to specify allergies and dietary restrictions in every order we place. The restaurant's QR system, which is then checked by a person, even notes them on our ticket! Despite taking all of the necessary precautions on our end, even writing on the order request: "Please cook separately in clean cookware and prep space"-- this is the THIRD TIME in month that I have found meat in my food!!! I have been hesitant to post a negative review since we like the owners, but I cannot in good conscience stay quiet anymore.

This is a fantastic sushi buffet option in the Princeton Plainsboro area. A very expanse menu with lots of great food options. Delicious fresh sushi and special rolls along with tasty short ribs (my favorite). Be sure to go early for lunch or dinner on weekends to miss the long waits to get seated. No reservations are taken.

Great service and sushi! Pricing was a bit high for the all you can eat sushi, but there were tons of choice.

    - Service: Fast and friendly staff. - Ambiance: Nice and clean. They do have tables for 6-8 people but that's their maximum. Would not be so suitable for group having more than 8 people, unless you don't mind sitting separately. - Food: Always come out so fast and fresh. Their salmon is my favorite - thick cut with nice swirls of fat and fresh. Their BBQ squid and BBQ ribs are my go-to as well. Any other dishes and rolls are also decent! Plenty of parking space around the restaurant and they offer 3% off if you pay by cash. Will come back and recommend this to anyone!

To rate this anything other than 5 stars when you're getting amazing quality from an AYCE restaurant is absolutely absurd. My standards for food at all-you-can-eat buffets are pretty low, since I know the restaurant's priority is to get food out of the kitchen as fast as possible. But upon dining at Hiro, I realized that the food was fresh and surprisingly...tasted amazing! Asian Bistro is definitely an appropriate name for this restaurant as they serve a variety of cuisines, ranging from Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai. My group attempted to try food from each and surprisingly, they did a great job in making each of these different dishes and flavor profiles. From the beef short ribs (MUST GET, they were so tender & flavorful!) to the ho fun (so addicting!) they really nailed their recipes. A large reason why we wanted to try Hiro was because of the expansive menu with so much more than just sushi, making this a great place to eat at even if you aren't a raw fish kind of person. Their sushi was great and fresh, but we definitely gravitated more towards the cooked foods during this visit. The service was speedy without feeling rushed, even though we were dining during peak hours and the restaurant was packed. Surprisingly, each time we ordered food none were forgotten and we didn't have to constantly ask for updates on our order, something that often happens at AYCE establishments I've been to in the past. We even mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and was offered a free birthday dessert, enough to share with the entire group! Not every dish from here was a favorite, and that's completely okay, since their menu has 50 other items to choose from that you can order endlessly. I loved Hiro and thought this was such a great find for an all you can eat experience!

    Sashimi - eh
    Kristen H.

Soooooooo disappointed. Ok food, some of it not fresh. We were completely rushed. The waitress literally said we have 2 min to order when we sat down at 9:40pm. I know they said order quickly- but I didn't think it would be that absurd. I stared at her in disbelief then rushed to look at the options. FYI the kitchen closes NO LATER than 9:45 - do not be deceived about the 10:30pm closing time! Unlike most restaurants that will set the closing time earlier so you don't have to rush out in a chaotic fashion, they expect you OUT by 10:30pm and they will make it very clear that you know- getting stared down, impolite service, rushed bill. Felt it was very overpriced for what it was AND they charged me $20 extra for not much food left. Another strange thing is I absolutely could've sworn I ordered yellowtail sashimi and while eating realized it was white tuna. When I asked the waitress about it she brought over the menu to show I ordered white tuna. It didn't look like my handwriting though and there was a marker smudge underneath. She told me to "just leave it on the plate." We asked for a box and the one waitress gave us 3 tiny ones that the food didn't fit into and then it appeared to anger another waitress as she confronted this staff member then told her to go home. No biggy on asking for more boxes, but just found this strange. Like they didn't get to triple check how much food is left on our plate even though they really rushed us. Ambiance is standard - a bunch of booths and sushi bar. It's BYOB. I used to really like it here but this just put a totally bad taste in my mouth. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Not worth it- rather higher quality food and considerate service.

Overall our experience was subpar. The General Tsos Chicken was bland and boring. The Hawaii Dream roll was also very bland... very disappointing! The Sweet Heart roll though was another story...LOVED IT!! Neither the service or ambiance were anything to write home about.

I love that their AYCE menu includes other food options besides sushi. We tried the short rib which were delicious and there are also many noodle dishes that come in smaller portion sizes for the AYCE menu We went on a Saturday afternoon and they were quick to seat us outdoors. Despite being outdoors they were constantly checking in on us to see if we would like to order more.

I've been here several times now and the food has never disappointed. Hiro is certainly a popular spot on Fridays and Saturdays and expect a wait for a table as the place fills up. The service has always been friendly and efficient. They have outdoor seating as well as comfy booths and tables inside. The All You Can Eat sushi menu at around $35 is a huge hit. My husband ordered this the past two times we've been here and he's enjoyed his selections. I'm not a huge eater, so the cost of this would be lost on me. On this visit we ordered Drunken Noodles with vegetables (very flavorful and delicious), Beef Lo Mein, and Thai Basil Chicken. Everything was great! I'm definitely a fan of this place and will certainly be back.

This is probably my favorite all you can eat sushi restaurant. The price is really affordable and it has really good quality delicious sushi. I've been here twice and will likely be back.

Came here when they first opened a few years back and have been back several times since, quality has kept up throughout these years - top notch entrees and sushi. After trying out many local AYCE sushi places including sushi palace, masa, sakura, I'd say Hiro is #1. They have the best quality sashimi and sushi - their sushi rice is warm and soft, and their hot entrees come in small but quality portions so you can try different ones without needing to commit to a larger dish. Space is clean, staff is attentive, and they offer BYOB. No reservations so make sure you come early on weekends and busier days.

Solid service, quick bites, great value. You better come hungry and with many picky eaters because there is something for everyone here.

My family and I love going to Hiro for great value and a wonderful meal. The menu is extremely diverse, with so many wonderful options beyond just seafood and sashimi (there are plenty of alacarte options as well as stirfry dishes!). The staff is nice and the service is fast as well. Would recommend!

Given the place was empty but for one other customer, I enjoyed this deal completely. All servers had a hand in delivering my meal to me, and I felt well attended to. The small bowl of Tom Yum Soup was loaded with veggies (carrot slivers, string beans, mushrooms, onion, baby corn & broccoli), and was heavily spiced with lemongrass. Woke up my lips and gums nicely. Alerted my sinuses to be ready to run. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles - 2.5 on the heat scale) was a full plate of broad noodles in a heavy Thai sauce and all the above vegetables. While the sauce could have been a bit wetter to improve the overall texture of the ingredients, it was still quite good. I finished less than half the dish and took the rest home. This was a generous dinner at luncheon price. The price point was right given the size of the meal and pleasant ambiance of the kitchen, dining room and entire staff. Four Phuket Stars for Phirom.

While the vegetables and shrimp dishes were clearly fused from different cultures to some extent, the fried rice might have had a bit too much salt as diabetes is on the rise these days--so we tend to choose lighter salt in meals. When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!
