We celebrated my husband's birthday here on a Sunday around 7pm and it was busy. We waited about 20 minutes which was not bad. It's designed as a Japanese train. The little train cars that bring your food are super fun, and the conveyor belt has food as well and of course the robots that bring you food as well. This is all you can eat so you pay 1 price for everything. I thought Ramen would be more expensive but it's not, it's included! I think only drinks and desserts are extra. This place had a lot of options and way more than sushi so if you are not a sushi person, there's plenty. To be honest, the mozzarella sticks were some of the best I ever had. I also love Kura sushi which is a very similar revolving sushi bar place so I am comparing it to that. This place relies more on the tablet ordering than the conveyor belt while Kura relies on the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt here had some things labeled, most of it was unlabeled which was a little annoying. Everything at Kura is labeled. Kura is pricing per plate while this place is all you can eat - which I do prefer. I think this place has way more selection while Kura has more or less the same items. I still love this place but overall, I do prefer Kura more. Both places definitely have pros and cons though. The service was great as well. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable. I came with a party of 4 and was only allowed to order every 5 minutes, as the iPad will time out and not allow you to order again. Understand this might be due to food waste or over ordering. I hate to say it, but this might be the best AYCE sushi restaurant I've been to in Jersey. It's gimmicky, don't get me wrong, but in the best way. Upon entering, you've entered a high speed Japanese train with lights and signage surrounding you. The little train cars that bring your food are super fun, and the conveyor belt is actually filled with food. The little robots that bring you appetizers are a fun touch too! There's a great mix of both sushi and cooked food here, and each dish has such amazing flavor (which is surprising for an AYCE establishment.) I was fully expecting something to taste off or not hit the mark, but that never came. While the sushi rolls are fun, the cooked food is definitely the star. The fried rice was flavorful, meats had great sear to them and the sauces were tasty. I've never been to an all you can eat that had agedashi tofu, so it was a surprise to me seeing this on the menu! This place quickly became one of my favorite AYCE sushi spots. The staff are extremely kind and attentive. We came on a Friday around 6 and they were getting busy. I joined the waitlist on Google for two people and were seated within 10 minutes. The sushi is fresh and tasty. They have a large selection of cooked/hot food. We enjoyed a lot of it- fries, steak hibachi, fried calamari. The only thing we didnt enjoy is the ramen. The soup was just too watered down. You order the food from the ipad and can also pick items off the conveyor belt. The food you order on the ipad either comes from a person, robot, or a little train. Did you know AYCE revolving sushi exists!?? I didn't until I went here. They opened not too long ago and they are quite innovative. You have 4 ways of receiving your food: 1. On the conveyor belt 2. The food was good but definitely nothing amazing you'd have to go back for. My parents didn't like their sushi, I guess it is typical to not have the best quality food at buffet-style places. Shinjuku Station offers a pretty mediocre revolving sushi experience. For me, the standouts here were the appetizer options. We tried the Cajun fries, shumai, fried calamari, crab rangoons, and chicken skewers. Everything was so yummy and was accompanied by a delicious sauce. However, the sushi options left something to be desired. The nigiri had decent fish quality, but there was an overwhelming amount of rice in proportion to the fish. I quite liked the scallop offered. In terms of rolls, most fell short. While some of the simpler rolls like spicy crab were yummy, all of the special rolls we tried were disappointing. A lot of these rolls are drenched in sauce and have mediocre fish. Despite being different, all of them kinda blended together because they lacked any unique flavor. What really makes this restaurant standout is the interior design. They have a really cool Shinjuku Station theme covering the whole restaurant, including the ceiling. The revolving sushi bar and robot servers offer a fun novelty unlike most restaurants. The table was also pretty spacious for all the food we were grabbing and ordering. The service here is so-so. We visited as a group of five and were automatically charged a 20% gratuity, even though it was lunchtime. One member of our party has an avocado allergy, and we found that there were very few menu options without avocado. In many cases, removing avocado wasn't an option, which made ordering more challenging than expected. My biggest criticism, however, was the military discount policy. As a military family of five, we were surprised to learn that the discount only applied to the individual presenting a military ID rather than the entire check, as many other restaurants do. It was especially frustrating that our child, who is a minor and therefore does not have a military ID, was not included in the discount. We came here for my eldest sister's birthday because she wanted to eat sushi. Ambiance: The restaurant looked interesting with the decor. The tables were clean and there was no garbage on the floors. Service: I cannot believe that there was a 3 hour wait just to get in to eat some sushi. The service here is way too slow with the staff and the tablets that are provided to each table. Even the little train that brings the food is slow including the sushi belt. Food: There were absolutely no salmon rolls or anything on the sushi belt. They had the same three sushi items that no one eats that kept revolving around in circles. This place was so much fun!! It's an all you can eat setup, where you can get food in 2 ways. You can order on the iPad and the food will be delivered by train or by robot. So cool! In summary, its a decent option. Kura sushi is better, although will be more expensive for the same amount of food. We went early around 1130 on a weekday, so we could select a "good" table. Was looking to avoid a table towards the end of the belt, after hearing most of the good food would be gone by the time it gets there. The restaurant had plenty of open tables till around 12ish, and was full by the time we left. So I'd recommend arriving by 12 on a weekday (maybe earlier on a weekend). I can definitely see potential issues with items running out during popular times. However they do allow you to order up to 5 items from the iPad every 5 min or so. These ordered items in general looked higher quality than the belt ones. So I would recommend taking advantage of this even if you do get the belt options. Keep in mind that the ordered food does take a while to come out. Rolls in general were fairly decent. On par with a mid grade sushi joint. No sashimi etc. They did have some entrees... None of the fried stuff was good Staff friendly but check in too frequently In general I thought it was great value for mid quality sushi rolls. My Family and I went here to celebrate our son's birthday. Here's a tip, the birthday person gets their meal free with at least 4 people in the party. We went on a Tuesday evening so we were able to get a table quickly and sat down. Our server took our drink order and also you have to order the sauces with the server as well. Typically its usually two pieces at time on the plates but since its unlimited you can grab as many as you like. Also teriyaki entrees of the same meats are included for you to order. You can order up to 5 items every 5 minutes on the tablet. The orders comes either from the robot servers near the table. This is definitely a unique experience that people should try at least once. The restaurant is decorated like a train station in Japan We will be back in the future if we are in the mood for Sushi. It is ayce and everyone at the table must participate plus there is a 2 hour dining limit, there is literally a countdown on your tablet. There is a tablet where you can place orders but you can only order five items at a time and you can only place an order every five minutes. My husband and I got a table at the end of the belt. Sadly that meant that everything we wanted was gone by the time the belt made it to us and we would have to order on the tablet. Not to mention, all the items on the belt is not labeled! It is a guessing game which I could see being a problem for someone who may have a food allergy. The kitchen was super backed up as they use the little robots to deliver food as well as the trains. At some point during our dining experience the servers started bringing the food out. At one point we were waiting 15 minutes for our sushi order and thankfully our server Jess checked on it and was able to get it to us. Everything we ordered hot from the kitchen especially fried items came out lukewarm or room temperature and not crunchy at all. My guess is they were dying in the window. The only saving grace was the salmon and scallop nigiri which was buttery smooth and just melts in your mouth. When I found out there was a new AYCE conveyor belt sushi location in NJ, I had to come check it out. My family and I came on a weekday night, but it was still packed. Fortunately, we were able to be seated much more quickly than we were originally told. The positives from my experience: our server Gianna was fantastic. She was extremely friendly, checked in on us often, and helped with anything we needed. There is a good variety of both raw and cooked food options. It's nice that you can get food from the conveyor belt and order from the IPad as well (gets delivered by the robot waiters or sushi trains). The negatives and things that could be improved: the nigiri sushi had a lot of rice and relatively thin slices of fish. Anything that came with rice was disproportionately heavy on rice. The orders we placed on the IPad took a very long time to arrive. Some of them didn't come for 30-45 minutes. Given that there is a 100 minute time limit, that really sets you back. It would also be more convenient if you could see which items you ordered had been delivered so far. Once you place several orders, it can be difficult to remember what came and what didn't. Depending on where you are seated, it can also be difficult to get food from the conveyor belt. We were further down the line and often had phases of just empty containers or the same "leftover" items that people didn't want. Overall, I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. I visited this place for the first time on Friday, March 6, 2026. My first impression was very positive. It's advertised as an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, but that's not exactly the case, as we discovered after finishing our meal and asking for the bill. The service was excellent. Staff quickly cleared any empty or dirty dishes from our table and were very attentive throughout the meal. They answered all of our questions about the restaurant, the food, and how everything works. The interior is really cute and feels like you're inside a video game. Robots bring food to the tables and even make sarcastic comments if you're in their way. There's also a conveyor belt that runs continuously with dishes of food, plus a small robot cart that moves around until it has your order and then stops at your table so you can pick it up. The overall ambiance is definitely a 5-star experience. The reason I gave it 3 stars overall is because the "all-you-can-eat" claim is only partially true. When you walk in, you pay about $20-$33, but there's also a per-plate or per-item charge on top of that. Our total came to about $100 including tip for two people who only had six food items and two drinks. For that price, we could have gone to a traditional sit-down restaurant and gotten much more food for less money. Unfortunately, the sushi here is not good. The sushi rice had no vinegar and it was hard. The presentation is sloppy. Like who are making these rolls, 12 year olds? Selection on the rotating belt was the same o same o and were mostly rolls. There was this one coconut cake that I kept seeing and it was dry AF. If that's the only dessert you're going to have on the belt then make it a damn yummy one. For other items, you can only order 5 items every 5 minutes on the pad. It's AYCE and the only one thing I can eat was the tempura udon. It was decent. The next time I stop by Shinjuku Station it will be in Tokyo, Japan and not the one here in South Plainfield, NJ. This place always has long wait times, but I think its worth it for the experience. Placing your name in the queue was reliable and on time in terms of the wait time. The sushi itself is ok as well. I like that there is also ramen and made to order options as well. read more

Not bad not bad. The themeing alone is worth a visit! It's a Japanese train themed restaurant and I'd say it's spot on. The atmosphere is beautiful and I noticed they used forced perspective to make it feel like you're riding on the train from your seat. Such a clever design! It's $32 per person for dinner and the food is on par with other AYCE sushi places. The only downside is you can only order 5 items every 5 minutes which can be annoying if you have a large group that's hungry. But the conveyorbelt had plenty of sushi available at all times. The service wasn't awful...the longest we waited for a dish was 15 minutes, but we came during the dinner rush. I agree with the other reviewers that you'll likely have to wait 30-40mins during peak time, but they have a waitlist system that tells you your place in line and texts you when your table is ready. So, we just shopped in Kohl's nearby to pass the time. If I were to give a rating on the food alone, it'd be 3 stars max. But the ambiance really blew me away, hence why I'm giving 4 stars! read more
