I came here with a friend last night and our experience was okay. The food tasted great- I was happy with the B 52 sushi roll that I ordered and the fried rice. My friend was happy with their sushi too. Unfortunately, the place was pretty packed since it's still Christmas break for a lot of people and the restaurant was super understaffed. Looked like our waiter was responsible for literally 10 tables at the same time. Felt sorry for the guy. We didn't get a check-in while eating until the woman who I'm assuming was the manager at the time came around asking each of the tables if they needed anything. It also took a while for us to get a box and pay. But I will say that our waiter and the manager (?) we're both very courteous and clearly working hard. They just deserve more help. I made sure the tip I gave reflected that, so I gave a normal one of course. Ambiance could also use a little work. Seems slightly outdated. Not super important though. Absolutely terrible. If I could give negative stars I would. They gave our table away after we called and made reservations, then our waiter stuck the ENTIRE straw, plastic wrapper and all INSIDE our drinks when he brought them out. Next, my husband found plastic clear pieces of plastic (looked to be from from the straws) in his soup! He brought the attention to the manager and she wanted to argue with him about it. The service was terrible, never got refills and our waiter also got the order wrong when he sent it to the cook. This place used to be our favorite and now it clearly has DECLINED. We thought we'd give it another try as the last time we came in, we sat at the bar. We were never greeted so we waited a few minutes and left. This time we sat at the bar and were greeted and given menus promptly with water. Eventually my drink came and we ordered. Our bartender then disappeared and we saw him waiting tables. A lady who we believe to be a manager was behind the bar doing dishes, never acknowledged us. My husband asked if she could check on our food, she then comes back and asks what we needed. My husband asks again. She says it's in the way. Eventually we get our food. The rice and chicken were cold, shrimp and scallops warm at best. The bartender finally came back and we let him know. We ate because we were hungry and no one checked on us. Apparently the manager comped my husbands meal. She never talked to us or apologized. This is a huge mistake. This was a total disappointment! The Volcano in Hiram is great and we typically go there but we decided to try the Acworth store this time. The portion was half the size of Hiram's, all of the food was over cooked and the shrimp were the smallest I have ever seen. Even the salad dressing was different and didn't taste right.I won't be going to the Acworth store ever again. Amazing experience. We sat at the bar, in front of the sushi makers. Our waitress Natalie was amazing! She checked on us a lot and made sure we got exactly what we wanted(were needy lol) . We ordered edamame and salmon nigiri, The fish was so fresh and delicious. The saki was nice &hot! We ordered hibachi with chicken, shrimp, salmon, and lobster. I loved the mochi balls, was perfect. Hennessy shot was a bit over priced for the area. Whoever the sushi makers were needs a raise! They were very sweet and made sure we liked everything that was brought to us, even reminded me how to use my chopsticks! Definitely coming back. I eat here a lot. I love their Pork Gyoza and Bagel Roll. However the last two visits I'm upset I never got to use my 50% off coupon. The five stars thing at the front lets you put in your number towards future rewards. The last time I went since I got the special 2 rolls, soup, and salad I was not able to use it. He told me next time I come in to use it. So I go in today get one roll, a salad and my gyoza. Not only did it say "already redeemed" on my coupon from the guy trying to mess with it last time they charged me 10 dollars for 1 bags roll and full price for the salad when I could have gotten the soup, salad, roll, and soup for 4 dollars cheaper. Then to top it off when I told my waiter not to worry about it his response was "okay." I'm just amazed at with how expensive this place is not working with the customer for the customer service. I mean for a place that charges 4 dollars for a fountain drink you could certainly give me 50% off my roll. Also not to mention I saved money for the company by only getting one roll and a salad and it was more expensive than if I would have gotten two rolls, a soup, and salad. Really good. Hit or miss depending on the weekday as far as service. The have one of those tech bots who bring you sushi when you order it. Perfect for date night. For families if you enjoy hibachi it's definitely the way to go read more

We usually eat here on the "regular" restaurant side (see my earlier review for that) but today did Hibachi side for special occasion. They really put on a good show over there with the typical hibachi chef show - very flamboyant, fancy & funny. The food - of course cooked in front of you - is especially fresh, hot & good. I have enjoyed our visits to Volcano off Mars hill rd The manager is very friendly to all patrons that visit this beautiful oriental decor. We love the California rolls and spider roll and AK47 roll. Eight years after I posted that, among other problems, the owner of Volcano on Mars Hill asked me for proof for my post that they charge double sales tax to on their so-called half priced Monday night. Of course, I posted a photo of the ticket originally, which he failed to check. I just went back to the original Yelp review, copied the photo of the ticket and pasted into this updated review. To be clear, they leave out at least one item on the half priced offer, so it is not really half price, then charge double the 6% sales tax, then ask for proof of this dishonest practice, which the owner could easily check on any ticket on any half priced night as well as in the original review. Eight years later, they apparently are still charging their customers double, and hoping that no one notices. Otherwise, the owner would admit their error, apologize and treat their customers right. Shame. Last, but.not least, they continue to have multiple violations discovered in their inspection scores. The latest is posted. Do people really want to eat sushi which is hand made by restaurant workers who do not have clean hands and do not have access to adequate hand washing facilities. That is risky. I never eat at any of this owner's restaurants. I only eat sushi at restaurants with an A inspection score. Thankfully, there are more and more sushi restaurants to choose from in West Cobb these days. read more

I was excited to try the sushi here because just moved to the area and need a new spot. We ordered 5 different rolls and 3 were okay and the other 2 were not good and had a smell of fish. I know it's fish but sushi should smell fresh and not fishy. I will also add I Ordered online and had a pick up time of 530 but due to traffic in the area I didn't get there till 545 and the food was sitting behind the hostess stand and not refrigerated something that should never happen in my opinion. read more

Acworth Location I made reservations for my son's birthday for a party of 12 including family traveling from out of town. The reservations were accepted, however hours before our reservation, I received a call from the restaurant stating they would be unable to honor our reservation due to staffing issues. My son doesn't really like to eat out, but this is where he really want to go on his birthday. I was very disappointed, but willing to change the reservation time or reduce party if they could accommodate us for his special day. The restaurant was very rude and stated they could not accept any reservation at any time. Food was good but service from Steven was really bad overall. We had to ask several other workers for things several times. All our food was brought out and we didn't have little dipping bowls for soy sauce or plates or chopsticks. We waited over 30 minutes for our food due to "system malfunction" but we watched several others food be brought out. He was at the bar most of the time and we saw him on his phone several times when we were trying to flag him down. It was very upsetting as we ordered quickly and were ready to eat. Other employees were very helpful and quick with all requests. We don't expect fine dining service but he did not check on our table once until he was flagged down and when he asked for our order a second time because of the "system". 1.) Our server, Ben, was AWESOME! Most other staff was super friendly. Sad that was almost the only part that we enjoyed. 2.) The chef's food tray wasn't correct when he got to the table. Didn't have any oil, any sauce, no seasoning, and two of the steaks that were ordered weren't there. Continuously had to send other employees to the back to retrieve things he was missing. During that time, while he was trying to get that fixed, my wife's steak, and another guest's steak, were overcooked, and not good. My food was ok, but it took a lot longer to get, because my meal was one that wasn't originally brought to the table. 3.) The only reason we came to the restaurant, tonight, was because on the back of our Kroger receipt, there was a coupon for 1/2 off our meals on Tuesday (picture attached). When we got our bill, only one of the meals was marked down. I approached our server, and let him know of the mistake. After a few minutes, either the manager, or owner, came over to explain that the Kroger coupon was made in error, and that promotion was over, and she could only honor one meal at half price. I told her that this coupon was the only reason we came in tonight, and we would've not eaten there had we known the promotion would not be given. After a little back and forth, she rudely said, "Fine! I'll do it!," dropped the coupon on the table and walked away. So, I did finally get the coupon deal that prompted us to come in, but it came at a cost. We won't be back to this restaurant...ever. This is a shame. We would like to have a nice hibachi style restaurant, close to the house, but when the person in charge treats you like this, I'm sorry, but you won't get another penny out of me, for dinners for two, family get togethers, business meetings, or larger birthday parties. With the competition that is nearby (Tokyo, Atami, Okinawa, etc.), I'd drive out of my way to avoid dealing with being treated rudely. On the way out, I complimented Ben, our server, told him what a great job he did, and left a nice tip for him. read more

Oh No, I really hate that I'm not a fan of this place. Its only 7 miles away from my house, but I don't foresee a return visit. I have visited many great hibachi restaurants in GA and I must say that this one did not make the list. Not only was I served wine out of a dirty glass, I don't recall an apology, just someone saying they will take care of it. Secondly, the chef put on one of the weakest shows Ive ever seen. No interaction with the guests, no funnies, of course he made the Volcano ( which was the only thing really worth posting -so I did). The food was not the best, my biggest issue was the yum yum sauce, it had to have been their own special blend because it tasted like mayo and seem somewhat thick, as it sat for a while it look like it thicken up a little bit more. The soup they served with the dinner combos could have been a bowl of water, flavorless and for some reason I had 1 noodle floating around in there-lol. Last but not least, I checked in through Yelp and a Yelp offer popped up, so I asked if I could redeem it and was told that I couldn't ..... ( had to get 2 meals to get a kids meal free), sooooo because my friend and I paid separately we couldn't redeem it, which was weird because they received the same amount of money from my party of 2 regardless of who and how the tab was paid, we came there together. All & All, the salmon, chicken & veggies were prepared well, and our server was a sweetheart....but when you have had a better experience elsewhere....
