I had one of the worst experiences with a takeout order from Wasabi Sushi & Steak. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, but they added an extra charge for fried rice that I never requested or wanted. Even worse, no rice of any kind was provided with the meal. When I called the restaurant to fix this mess, they flat-out refused to help with a refund. A $2 refund would have gone a long way with me, but instead their brilliant solution was to tell me to drive 15 minutes to come pick up the missing rice I was wrongly charged for in the first place. The food was mediocre at best, but the sneaky charges and terrible customer service made it completely unacceptable. I will never go back and strongly recommend you avoid this place. read more

Seriously some of the best hibachi chicken around. It makes it near impossible to eat it from anywhere else. The dining area is just standard booths and tables along with a sushi bar. They do not do hibachi grills where they cook in front of you. The food as a whole is absolutely delicious. We often stop in to eat here or order takeout, either way is delicious. The chili paste is a nice touch to order if you like spice. The staff is always friendly and accommodating as well. Love having this option for dinner usually about once a week. Welp! I think I'll need to take this off my list of places to go in the Bridgemill area. As I was eating my house fried rice I bit into a fingernail. If the cooks wear gloves I'm not sure how that would happen, but it did. I called the store and while the manager was nice about it and assured me it had to be an egg shell, she let me know that there's nothing she can do for me except make another fried rice for me. I had to decline as I'm now turned off from eating there. I've bitten into an egg shell before. I also know what it feels like on your teeth if biting your own nails. Not even close. I've been to Wasabi about times now. Ate in once and take out 4 more. Possibly the best sushi in the area. I'd like to focus on the eat in: Restaurant is nice. Vibe is a little stale and the decor could use some updating. Past that, the food is awesome. Presentation of sushi was amazing and their rolls are very creative. My two favorite at the Bonsai Tree roll and Sky track roll. Both are delicious and extremely cool looking. See the pictures. They even have a creative vegan roll with spicy tofu topping. See picture. It's a local sushi place with a variety of interesting house rolls that are normally very good. It meets all expectations and is satisfying. Food is well-presented and portions are sufficient. Not a fan of the ginger dressing on the house salad, but it's a minor complaint. Not much of a "sushi bar" atmosphere and is arranged for table service. Servers are friendly and helpful, but occasionally distracted -- I've had on multiple occasions orders served incorrectly or incomplete, but they are quick to make corrections. I will return to this restaurant, but there are others that I prefer if I have the time. read more

When I am in town visiting my sister, we would go to Rainbow Asia for lunch. That restaurant has since closed, and is now Wasabi Sushi and Steak Japanese Restaurant. On my recent visit with family for the Easter holiday, I met up with my sister and she wanted to come here. With the pandemic, she has not gone out to any restaurants. But getting her vaccination shot, this was one new restaurant that she wanted to try. And knowing I like sushi, she suggested we go here for lunch. Upon entering, we noticed the difference in the dining room having more natural light enter, which gave the dining room a much more relaxed feel to it. Unlike the darker interior of the previous restaurant. The dining room is comfortable, with the wood interior throughout. Nothing fancy, but comfortable. Our waitress brought out our menus and answered any questions about the the restaurant and any items on the menu. I wish I got her name so I could give her a shout out. She was really friendly and pleasant. I thought about ordering sushi. But my attention turned to the fried rice after my sister commented on getting the shrimp with fried rice. Not having fried rice since what feels like forever, I decided on the chicken fried rice. Both came with a bowl of chicken broth and a small salad with beverage. The chicken fried rice was good. And filling. My sister was pleased with her shrimp fried rice. The chicken fried rice ($8.00) and the shrimp fried rice ($10.00) made for a really affordable lunch. My sister really enjoyed coming here, and we will likely come here again the next time I visit. Maybe then, I will try the sushi. read more

I knew the chef from Kani house. I heard he opened up his own restaurant so I had to come check it out. I don't know what other people are saying (the people that give less than 3 stars) but this place is so good. Small pieces? No. I saw some fat fish in all the rolls and sushi I got. Kani house changed their yum-yum sauce to be gluten free so I stopped going. It changed the taste up so much that I couldn't enjoy my food. "Can't go to a restaurant cause of the sauce? Stop overreacting." As a big sauce guy I like to enjoy my fried rice with the yum-yum sauce. I think the sauce lifts the taste of the fried rice. If the sauce is bad, then what's the point? I say all this because the yum-yum sauce here is on point. It's a bit more peppery (black pepper) but dang that made the sauce even better. I can't say enough good things about it. I had some fried rice, sushi, and rolls. Everything was flawless. Glad to see their family doing well. Will always be coming back here instead of Kani house. read more

Excellent food with awesome service. The chef is very experienced and knows what he is doing. For appetizers we had Crab Rangoon and bam bam. Both were so good, specially Bam Bam. There was a dance in my mouth. We ordered California roll, cowboy roll, Manhattan roll, Mexican roll and two types of chef's special sushi. Oh everything was so fresh, taste was on point. Godzilla is supposed to be topped with avocado (we got 2 SMALL thin slices on the whole roll) and tempura flakes were nonexistent. Also would appreciate separate containers for all rolls. The chefs selection sushi appetizer was so fresh and presented beautifully. We ordered the chicken noodle dish with an extra side of vegetables (not pictured) and it was outstanding! The noodles came with miso soup and a salad. My server was helpful and attentive, she made sure my toddler and I were well taken care of and checked on us often. We love this restaurant! Being from Hawaii, we've really been missing quality sushi. When this place opened, we were skeptical but gave it a shot. We were so pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of everything that we quickly became regulars. The owners are so friendly and whenever we come in are quick to tell us our order before we can say a word. We also chose to dine here for Father's Day and got to speaking with them. We were excited to learn that the owner and main chef actually studied in Japan for several years before coming back to the states and opening this place. Mom loves the miso soup. The place is very capable, well run, good food. They focus mostly on sushi. The menu is very limited for people like me that like a robust AmericanOriental menu with all the classics like General Tsos, Cashew Chicken, Snow Pea Pods. I am a teriyaki stir fry guy and we would get takeout there a lot more if their menu accommodated that style. I am hoping they add more variety to meals because my mom wants miso soup and I want the age-old common ameri-asian dishes they do not offer. I highly recommend the place for what is on the menu. Had an indoor date night with my husband so we ordered for pick up. We're from California and the sushi is a tad different out there from what we've tried out here so far. The sushi was very good. Very fair priced compared to other sushi restaurants we've looked at. One small complaint is the side salad (which is only two dollars) only came with enough lettuce to fit in my palm. The ginger dressing was absolutely delicious but I definitely would've enjoyed more salad to go with it. Overall I would recommend this place to others! read more

Today we discovered this gem in our neighborhood via social media of course for #SushiWednesday. We ordered online and the process was rather smooth w/ the exception of the overall makeup of the website itself anyway. Parking: it's a dedicated lot so there's plenty of parking regardless of the time or day when visiting. Food: We ordered the $13 tuna & avocado salad that came with our choice of soup and salad. We added asparagus for $2 more although it seemed to add nothing to this roll for our taste buds; the $6 squid salad was very fresh but it needed some seasoning in our opinion; the $12 lady bug roll was also very fresh and tasty but again needed more flavor; the $11 cowboy roll was delicious although not very pretty to look at and overcooked despite we requesting medium cook; my absolute favorite roll was the $14 spider roll which I ordered fried for $2 more and it was SO good -- it included fried soft shell crab, avocado, and cucumber topped with masago and sweet eel sauce; lastly we ordered the $22 spicy maki combo which included the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy yellowtail rolls and I must say the seasoning on these were spot on (finally) and it allegedly came with a soup and salad but we did NOT receive one although we made selections for these items on the sight. We also did not enjoy the way they crammed a lot of the differently types of sushi in containers together. I understand it's covid and things are hard for all of us but this could have potentially been bad as I have an aversion for some seafood. Side note: although this place is called wasabi house the wasabi served here needs more spice!! Servers: Upon entering I wasn't greeted but they were attentive and our food was ready at the time we were given online which we appreciated. We go there a lot and have noticed the last four or so times it keeps going downhill. Order the filet fried Rice which used to be good. Have noticed a decline in quality but passed it off as a bad night. Tonight I am pretty sure I ate alpo dog meat steak tips. There is absolutely no way it was even steak much less filet. On the first visit the sushi was undersized on all 3 rolls, even ones that are priced in the $12-14 range. Tonight was our second, and last visit. Placed an online order at noon for a 5:30pm pickup. Received an email confirmation verifying the items ordered and pickup time. Arrived at 5:30 and no order was ready. When asked why the reply was "we didn't get it". Waited there 15 minutes while they made our order.....pointless to use their online ordering. There are too many well-managed restaurants in the Canton/Woodstock area to patronize this business. read more

This rating is an average. I would give the sushi 4.5 or even 5 stars, but the service 1 star. My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times and the service isn't always bad, but last night it was really quite terrible. The restaurant was not very busy judging by the amount of people dining in (though they clearly did have some takeout orders). Long story short, our food took at least 20 minutes longer than it should've to arrive. The table next to us, who arrived 15 minutes after us, got their food well before we got ours. I inquired politely and was told that they were a bit behind, but when a different server finally brought our food, he made up some dumb excuse about a printer problem. It was pretty clear to us that the original server didn't put our order in when he should've. And hey, things happen, I get it, I've been a waiter, but what is unacceptable is neither he, nor any member of management, ever came by to address the problem and offer any sort of apology or consolation. They just let us sit there and wonder and get annoyed. Again, the food is good, but it'll be hard to justify eating here again when there are other places with good food who also know what good customer service is. read more

Went to Wasabi yesterday at 4:30 for a snack as it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. Sat at the Sushi bar and had several different type of Sashimi and the Chef/Owner made us a special sampler plate. All was very good. Decor is nice and servers are prompt and friendly. Just wish they wouldn't stop lunch at 2PM during the week AND be open for lunch on Sat/Sun because around here weekend lunch can be the busiest time! read more

Second time dining here tonight. First time, our server forgot about us after dropping off menus for about 20 minutes. Another server jumped in and took over. Food was good. On our second visit, a young man waited on us and he was very attentive from the minute we walked in. I ordered vegetable tempura with miso soup and ginger salad and my wife ordered chicken tempura with friend brown rice, which she loves there. The soup cups were both less than half full, so that was disappointing. When I got my entree, I found a huge hair in a piece of broccoli halfway through the meal. Server took it to the manager and they offered a 6% discount, which I refused and asked to speak to the manager. I know the kid they sent out wasn't the manager because I saw an older Indian man walking around behind the bar who clearly looked like he ran the place. The person sent to talk to me took my meal off the ticket after I asked him how he would feel if served the same. My wife stopped eating hers because the hair grossed her out. Doubt we'll return which is too bad since we live so close and my wife loves their fried brown rice. Very disappointing, not so much because of the hair because while gross, I get that it can happen anywhere. It was more the lack of willingness to make it right without having to ask. I'm not a person who asks for free meals. I tipped the server as if I paid for the full dinner. read more

The Kanikama & Avocado Salad (with soft shell crab served on a bed of mixed greens with cucumbers, and thin slices of avocado) was amazing. However, the rest of the order (multiple sushi rolls & crab rangoon) was a huge disappointment; rice made up the roll more than 50%; drowning in sauces. I spent $85 for basically rice with soy sauce & spicy mayo. I'm still searching for a worthy Chinese / Sushi fix in the Sixes area! Help! read more

We love Wasabi, but lately a lot of sloppy mistakes have been going on. Two months ago was when we ordered last, prior to this evening. Two months ago we ordered the chicken and shrimp fried rice, our receipt showed it, and we paid for it. No shrimp on the fried rice. My partner ordered chicken friend rice and the chicken was over cooked. Tonight, we ordered chicken fried rice with an order of veggies on the chicken fried rice. And we ordered veggie fried rice with extra veggie. Both of which we paid extra for, and we received no add on of veggies. And the chicken fried rice barely had chicken on it. We also ordered two orders of edamame and it was unseasoned. I hope they can double check orders before sending out. We really enjoy wasabi and love supporting non-chain restaurants but it's a disappoint the lack of care and respect goes into their customers, especially loyal, long time ones. read more
