There is not one bad thing to say about Wasabi. I visit weekly, where the staff welcome me kindly. They are all great and very helpful. The food is amazing. Best sushi rolls include TNT and Idaho for savory options or sunset and beach rolls for a fresh flavor. They also offer great options for non sushi lovers, the best being the Beef Donburi. OK, you know that sushi is all about the rice. Well, their rice is nothing to right home about. The fish was a bit on the dry side so didn't seem super fresh. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. They were out of several key items on both the menu and specials board. The service was really good and so was the presentation. I guess I'm just used to better quality sushi. read more

My old co-worker told me about this place 4 years ago and never paid any attention to it. Been back 4x and haven't even wrote a single review. The rolls are amazing, the TNT and Mirage are delightful with a wonderful smokey flavor. The dynamite and sunset rolls are also very delicious. This is my local goto place now for Sushi since it is so close to me. Nothing negative could be said about this place. For sure will return. read more

Weird experience. When I walked in I was created by a waitress that seems less than enthused to be working and made sure that we felt it. Then we were crammed in a shared booth type thing with another group of people even though there where only about two other groups of people dinning. We also noticed there we so many waitress, hostesses and chefs that it well outnumbered the guests which was odd but then when you see the price for the quality of the food you receive you realize you are paying for all the extra employees. It was in general a really weird experience and just wasn't great. My parents love it there so I gave them a three star because I trust their experience was better than mine. read more

Cozy and quaint little sushi place in Draper, with speedy fast service, very attentive waitresses and delicious food. We came on a Friday night and the place was packed. Luckily we were seated at the bar pretty quickly..got our gyoza appetizer first, and the filling was savory and tasty. The sushi was prepared at the speed of light following our gyoza shortly. The TNT roll is a show stopper - I mean they do set it on fire - and it tastes delicious for all the cream cheese lovers out there. Hubby had the samurai dragon rolls and loved them. The line was out the door by the time we're done with dinner..which was at most 30-40 mins. read more

I was passing through town on a Tuesday and ordered takeout from Wasabi. The online process was simple and I selected the option for earliest pickup. My order was promptly ready in 10 minutes despite the restaurant appearing full. This was a modest establishment but obviously was a favorite of many on this Tuesday. Tuesdays they have roll specials which is exactly what I ordered. The TNT roll was almost smoky in flavor and I'm glad I got it. I would recommend the greeting area be updated but overall was a good choice for a quick bite. I would be interested in returning to get a better feel for the restaurant. read more

Our favorite place to go for sushi (whole family kids age 8-16)!!! I love sushi and my husband hates sushi. And because of this place he now eats sushi and loves it (but only if we go here!) First time we visited he ordered the teriyaki chicken and he thought it was really good. I tried a few sushi's and was really impressed, the waitress was super cute and helpful with recommendations. The next visit (which was the following day ) we tried some other rolls and were super pleased. We came back the next day (I know insane lol) and we're basically family now ha ha. Each day was a date with a different one of our kids and they all have loved the sushi as well. One of our kids has Celiac disease and they were great with the gluten free options and handling of her food. Several visits in we saw and tried the TNT! My husband said "okay if this is what we get each time I could totally eat sushi!" He has also really enjoyed the Idaho it's his other go to. He now no longer orders anything but sushi- yay! Claudia has been our waitress most of the times we visit. She is the sweetest, is super helpful and treats us like family- we absolutely adore her! Today we decided to try the cowboy and my husband was floored- most of his favorites have been the creative/less fishy types and this one is made with teriyaki beef . So there's hope for the non- sushi fans who are married to sushi fans lol ‍‍ your marriage can be saved or at least you can both enjoy a visit with fabulous food and amazing service. We recommend our favorites the TNT roll, the Idaho roll and the Cowboy roll! I also get me a Valentine roll each visit . The Draper and 2022 was really good too- seriously have been impressed with everything we've tried so far. read more

We ordered takeout for my birthday and absolutely loved it! The sushi rolls and sashimi were fresh and delicious! I appreciate how they organized their menu. I love to order raw rolls and it specifically lets you know if you're ordering just that. The Valentine Roll, James Roll and Elf were among the family favorites. One night my family and I were craving sushi. So we were trying to see if there was any easy fast places near us. We found this place called wasabi and it sounded good so we went, when we Arrived there was a 15 minute wait. Wasn't to long so we decided to stick around, once we got our table the waitress were quick to get to our orders of drinks. And after 3 minutes we got our drinks. I decided to get the TNT because it looked interesting, when I got my roll I realized that it was served on fire! I thought that was so cool! My friends were raving about this place since I moved to SLC more than 2 years ago. Over the weekend I decided to give them a try. The place is small and cozy. The staff were friendly to seat us and brought our drinks. We tried four rolls and they were tuna, tempura shrimp, Draper, and mirage. We really liked the tuna and Draper a lot. One is simple and the other is full of flavors. Overall, the experience was good but I think it would be better if we had some kind of sushi and sashimi boat to balance everything better. read more

TLDR: Solid sushi spot in Utah! Great variety and flavor with the rolls. I'd recommend getting their fresh wasabi for only an additional $2. Price & portion: 7/10 Very standard pricing for sushi. It was about $13 a roll. No complaints here. Ambience: 7/10 It's a very casual dinner spot. On a Saturday night around 7pm, we had to wait around 30 minutes for a table. We just grabbed a drink next door while waiting. Service: 9/10 Great service. The sushi was really good, but honestly the service was not. We had to flag down servers several times to even order and get water. It is a smaller restaurant so everything felt tight. I almost don't want to give a 5 star review because I don't want the wait to get into this awesome sushi joint to grow even longer! These guys are excellent for a business lunch or a nice dinner date with your SO. The TNT is their most popular roll (comes out on _literally_ on fire) but I also love the Kill Bill and the Sunrise rolls which have thinly sliced citrus on top. I've heard that they're in cahoots with Takashi up in SLC to get their fish imported fresh daily. I can neither confirm nor deny, but my tastebuds definitely vote that this is true. Over priced American sushi? It was okay, probably won't be back unless I'm an unimaginable sushi pinch. This plate represents nearly $65 of sushi. Most rolls are cooked and not topped with raw fish (those that are topped with raw fish are mostly salmon and tuna). even some of specialty rolls are just California roll variations. read more

Ok, this place is bomb!!! I came here off of a friends recommendation and I'm sooo glad I did. It was crowded but we got sat right away. We ordered 4 sushi rolls, appetizers, drinks, Yakisoba and tempura cheesecake. We were shocked and impressed at how quickly the food was brought out. The jasmine hot tea is super good. When you order hot tea, it's per cup and not a tea pot. I loved the smell and the cups they used for that. The vibe is really nice and you can tell it is highly popular. The staff were all nice and prices are pretty decent. However, the sushi was okay at best. Not totally unenjoyable. They had a decent flavor. The rice felt a bit hard and dry. The fish does not taste fresh, but what can you do living in a landlocked state? But, enough people do seem to really enjoy it, so I think maybe others might. I am a sushi foodie and just came from living seaside, so my palette is bias. read more
