The perfect spot!! We love wasabi!! The wait was a bit long and they don't take reservations, but they were so awesome and made up for it with the service and the food. They do a deal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays that you really can't beat. It's a little crowded and loud inside, but nothing too crazy. One of our favorites for sure!! read more

They seem to have a loyal following ... the place was packed on a Tuesday night. It's a nearby Draper establishment. The business is small and the ambiance was a little loud. Edit: They give a free mochi ice cream dessert if you leave a review, so I did so at the table in order for them to honor it. I thought it was weird that in the verification process of my review being published to Yelp, the staff grabbed my phone, took it to the back, and 1) read my full review with another staff member and 2) used their phone to take a picture of my review. I feel that this should not be allowed, and is very deceitful practice for an honest review site like Yelp. They basically pressured me to leave a really positive review since she took my phone (without asking me!!). It definitely pressured me to write a more positive review than it really deserves. My honest opinion now-- it's actually a 4 star experience, rather than the 5 I wrote before, but I took one more star down because of the whole pressure-to-leave-a-good-review circumstance. One of my favorite sushi places in UT! The employees are very friendly and helpful. We were seated immediately after arriving and got our meals shortly after ordering. First time in Utah and I tried this place with my family who had already eaten here a couple of days beforehand. I gotta say I love sushi so I may be a bit biased, but this place really did a great job with it. Fish and rolls in general were fresh and flavorful! They also had gluten free options as well as gluten free soy sauce and were very accommodating with mine and my sisters' allergies! The restaurant is a bit tiny so tables are close together. Plus the hallway to the bathroom is a bit of a squeeze with people coming in and out from the kitchen, but that doesn't take away from the quality from the restaurant at all. This was a solid option for sushi in the Utah area. We got there around 5:30 and were seated immediately. On Tuesday and Wednesdays they have a special menu with discounts so that's what we ordered from. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could do half stars on here. As a whole, the place was good. There were some things I didn't like. As we were going to our seat they have signs up that say something along the lines of "Because we are a small restaurant, please eat fast and leave." This was a common feeling through the night. They tried to clear my friends place after our first order when we wanted to order more and the staff kept hovering around making me feel like we were being rushed through the meal. I understand you want to have more people there to make more money but if you're that busy you should upgrade to a larger restaurant not rush your customers. The rolls came out very fast which was a plus but the portions are very small. We got 5 rolls and on average they were about $10. I expect a larger portion at that price point. Onto the rolls: - tempura volcano. The menu said 4 kinds of fish so it was a bit of a mystery what we were getting. I wish they would set the roll. The flavors of the fish didn't blend well together and all in all it was just okay. - New York Roll. This was really delicious there was a nice balance between the fish and the other parts of the roll and I will definitely order this one again. - Playboy. This was my favorite roll we got. The flavor composition was great and the tuna on top was really fresh. I would highly recommend this roll! We ended up getting two of these. -TNT Roll. This roll has a really fun presentation it comes out with the plate on fire! The roll was really delicious and I would definitely order this again. This was a good place and I would come back here but I don't like being rushed through a meal and I would like the portions to be a little larger for what we are paying. read more

I've been looking for a good sushi restaurant in the Salt Lake valley. Happy to say I've found Wasabi Sushi. Great service, food and greater attention to detail making their food exceptional. They take pride in the quality of their dishes, particularly their sushi rice. People take quality rice for granted but if you have eaten a lot of rice elsewhere, you'll be happy with the difference. I ordered the chicken yakisoba, tempura Philly roll & a kids chicken teriyaki. The chicken yakisoba noodles & sauce were good, the chicken was very rubbery and chewy. I ended up pushing the chicken to the side and not eating it. I'm currently pregnant and unfortunately sushi options are limited, fried/cooked only. I tried the tempura Philly roll and it was good. Decent flavor, fresh tasting, it was as expected. It's a mild roll so I had high hopes for it & wasn't disappointed. The kids chicken teriyaki - I'm not sure what was up with the chicken yesterday, but my son didn't even eat the chicken. It was very tough, gristly, not fresh. I tried pulling apart pieces for him to eat and it was hard to even pull them apart. So. My chicken was rubbery, his was tough. I'm not one to send back dishes but I definitely would have sent the chicken dishes back if we had stayed to eat In restaurant. While the noodles were decent & the sushi was fine, I'm not sure if I'll give this another go or not. read more

We tried the TNT, sunset, vegas, playbill and kill bill (spicy). They were all GREAT!! Our favorite by far was the TNT roll! It was phenomenal! Don't leave here without ordering one. Their sushi was awesome, my only complaint is that we arrived at 2:15pm (they close at 3pm) at 2:40pm they dropped the check off at our table without us asking or saying we're done ordering and then they thought we ordered a second vegas roll, which we didn't, they brought it to the table and we said we didn't order it, they proceeded to give us a box for it and charged us and made sure we were out by 2:50pm.. it was all very strange. The fact they'd charge us for something we didn't order and shewing us out the door so fast when the restaurant is open until 3pm. As I've reviewed before, the Mirage roll is one of my favorites; it's got tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, spicy eel sauce. My daughter often gets the Hollywood. Lately, I think the Mirage Roll could remain on fire more in the tinfoil to get more heat as the shrimp were still a bit cold. It's a small joint, so sometimes there's a wait. Today we felt a bit rushed by the server although there were no people waiting for our table and we still hadn't finished our food and drinks. read more

If you're in the Draper area, you have to try Wasabi. They serve great sushi rolls. Ingredients are fresh and rolls are made clean. The staff is tentative to your needs. During lunch it can get a bit busy. Be mindful of their hours since they close at 2 pm to prepare for the dinner hours. Love coming here when we pass through. read more
