Can't believe this place has been around all this time and we had no idea. It was a bit harder to spot when I pulled in the first time too. The dishes are so big and look daunting at first, but they're just flatter and the potion is pretty standard American. Of the three dishes we tried, the appetizer was the best--would do the jalapeño hamachi any day of the week. Both the tenderloin and the pork bulgogi entrees were good but we'd try something different next time for entree. Lots of options to choose from! Will return.

But, service is quick and they are straight to the point. There is katsu- both pork and chicken- and there is even sushi. We got their chicken katsu- so good! Not dry at all and the mountain of cabbage went great with the entree and side dishes. We also got their curry and it was so good! I heard a girl say, "this is my comfort food." And I thought she was over exaggerating, but I 100% agree with her. It was delicious! I would eat that once a week if I could. Don't skip out on their shrimp tempura either. Phenomenal! This place is amazing and I can't wait to come back!!
This little hole in the wall is a good place to get curry Katsu in Utah. There's a variety of Katsu dishes. Service was great. Dish sizes are huge and I feel you get more for your money. One dish is enough to share. We had the tomahawk katsu which was a big thick hunk of meat. The cabbage salad dressing is so tasty I should've gotten an extra side salad. The tempura has Katsu breading on the shrimp. Definitely going back.
This place is definitely a hole in a wall, Japanese style katsu chicken. The chicken itself is pretty thin and not super flavorful. I got the katsu chicken with the curry and with the curry it was pretty good! Very large portion for a decent price. The service was ok, just one person considering it was 6 tables total that's fair, but more of a 'let me know if you need anything, I'll be in the back' situation. Overall- not bad, not great
Katsu City had some of the crispiest Katsu ever!! The curry was so good and the prices aren't bad at all. Below is the King Katsu, big enough for two people. The service was quick, small restaurant but my boyfriend and I were sat fairly quickly! The ambiance is small and intimate, but perfect to enjoy good food.

We had 3 different types of katsu, tenderloin, cheese and tomahawk katsu (pork chops with the bone still on). They're crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. The cheese katsu are thinly sliced pork acts like a spoon and gently hold the gooey delicate cheese in the center. Perfect balance. Tenderloin is just like the name suggested: tender. I would like to try the king! It's as big as the plate!!

Welcoming and friendly service. There are maybe about a dozen tables in the dining area. The menu is fairly basic, the food was unbelievably delicious. I feel so lucky to live close to Katsu City. Katsu Curry is my current obsession. I ordered the King Katsu and my husband ordered the Spicy Pork Bulgogi. I like the Bulgogi generally when I have had Bulgogi, it has been beef the pork made for an interesting change. I'm pretty sensitive, but it was not too spicy for me. The King Katsu lives up to its name. The portion was huge I was super excited and hungry so I thought I could eat it all but I could not. I ended up having to take leftovers. The miso soup had fantastic flavor. The rice was cooked perfectly and was also super yummy. A fresh and crunchy cabbage salad accompanied the Katsu and the rice. The cabbage had a sesame dressing that I really enjoyed the entrées. Also comes with 2 sides of Banchan that I liked and appreciated. The food was ready fast and the price is respectable. Thank you for the delicious food!
AMAZING!! Best Katsu I have ever had!! We showed up at noon on a Saturday and it was empty. By the time we left nearly every table had filled! I was very impressed with the wide range of their katsu menu! Each dish comes with miso soup, kimchi, and pickled veggies. I really enjoyed the tenderloin, the meat was nice and juicy and the panko breading was incredibly crispy! The fries were fresh and hot! Great appetizer to snack on while they freshly fry your katsu :)
A very cozy restaurant that serves the BEST Katsu I have ever had. The Katsu is perfectly crisp and every crunch made me wanna dive more into this mammoth of a pork cutlet. I had ordered the King Katsu with the sauce on the side and the sauce added a delicious thick, tangy, and sweet sauce that elevates the dish. I came out of here full considering I ordered the Katsu and sushi roll and ate it all by myself for a total of about $40. I am a little bit of a big back so I would definitely recommend bringing another person with you as one meal can easily satisfy two people. I will definitely be back again to try the other delicious Katsu's they have to offer ‼ read more
Came in wanting some Katsu. Miss the Katsu shops in So Korea. The restaurant was cozy and quaint. The restaurant had a 4 seat capacity sushi bar seating area. We sat in the restaurant table and chairs. Started with a small cup of Miso. Was reduced with enough level of savory deep rich miso. Ordered Baja Roll. Katsu Curry and King Katsu. Portion and size haha wouldn't fit on our 4 top table. People use their fist as reference and they are not joking. Thoughts. The king katsu was pounded too thin. My opinion. Super crunch with lots of panko. Sauce is good. Balance of some sweet and savory. Sesame dressing on the finely chopped slaw was good. Asian sweet mayo like dressing. Curry was ok. Nothing specially. Like the cutlet on the curry katsu more than the king katsu. Baja roll was the only thing I didn't like. The herbaceous cilantro in the roll didn't work for me. Also could have more fish to rice ratio. read more
What an amazing friendly little restaurant located in a small strip mall. Only 6 tables but they leave cups & a pitcher of water on your table! With only 6 tables service is limited to one server which works. They just started their sushi menu and currently has selected sushi that are discounted for Tuesday - Thursday lunch and happy hour Friday - Saturday 830p - 930p on selected sushi for dine in only. Best to check w/ the restaurant as this may be limited time special. They have a great lunch combo box for lunch Tuesday - Thursday so we each got Don Kats box perfect for lunch. Food took a while to make it to our table but the flavor and crunch is there, so delicious! I would come back again and get the tenderloin katsu, it's just so good. Portion is quite big for me so I would order 1.5 dishes to share next time instead of 2 entrees. read more

Came to get lunch on a rainy day and it did not disappoint. The katsu was cooked to perfection and had an amazing crisp on every bite. I've been on the hunt for good ttekbokki here in Utah and this one is by far my favorite! The sauce was spicy and sweet. It was thick enough to cover each rice cake and came with sausage + fish cakes. read more
I was so sad when this place closed in Provo, and am now so happy to see it back open in West Jordan. Absolutely, hands down, the BEST katsu you can get in the entire state, bar none. I always get the King katsu, a giant pork cutlet with a delicious sauce. The cabbage, rice and sides are all good too. Prices are a little steep, but you can't get this anywhere else, so it's nothing to be upset about. Service is always quick and nice. It's a small place so if you bring a big group, I'd call ahead or something, and the hours are a little unusual, open for dinner only most days and only a few hours for lunch on Friday and Saturday with regular dinner hours those days as well. I come here as often as I can, you should too. read more

I loved this place! Food was great and the server was kind! I order the Tenderloin Katsu, Curry Katsu, and the Cheese Katsu! My favorite was the Tenderloin Katsu! It is more tender and came in a good portion size! The Cheese Katsu was so good and the cheese was really really stretchy! Keep in mind it was a smaller portion compared to the rest. The Curry Katsu is more Korean-style curry, so do not except it to be Japanese-style curry. Overall, definitely would recommend this place. Each dish was roughly about $17. The hours are a bit difficult to keep track of, but it's understandable because it seems to be a family owned restaurant, I believe. read more

Well buckle up! I am about to tell you about a place that I would prefer to keep to myself. We were looking for a place to have lunch & found Katsu City. This little local place had pretty good reviews & I love chicken Katsu. We arrived right as they opened. I was surprised how tiny the dining area was. 5 tables. Not much decor but nice music playing. There were only 9 items on the menu. Katsu in many delicious looking forms! They started us off with some miso soup. It was okay. The weak link of the meal. I ordered the chicken Katsu & my lunch date ordered the Katsu curry. Both orders came with so much food! The breading on the meat was perfectly crispy and delicious. The cabbage salad on the side had a very tasty peanut sauce like dressing. The kimchi & onion side were also yummy. Everything tasted freshly made & wonderful.The curry was also fantastic. We will definitely go back! The service was great & the food was great. It is kind of hard to find and there is A LOT of construction going on on 90th south so a bit of a pain to get there but absolutely worth the trouble. read more

Excellent Korean Katsu joint and definitely a new hidden gem in the strip area on 9000 S. I stumbled upon this place, looked very authentic so decided to give it a shot tonight. We got the curry and king katsu and holy moly, both were excellent. Ginormous portions of delicious katsu fried to sheer perfection. Crispy, crunchy, absolutely ideal outer crisp and lovely perfect chicken on the inner. Curry was seasoned perfectly in addition to the king katsu sauce which was an ideal compliment with the kimchi sides giving it a perfect balance of sweet, sour, crispy, with the cabbage side and white rice and miso. We were very very satisfied and had to take leftovers because the king katsu was 2xs the size of my hand. I was so full and so extremely happy. It's always such a breath of fresh air to find authentic places that truly have good food especially when it's homemade and fresh. This is a mom and pop shop, you come in and the style is very much so you're eating at someone's house in a fast dining casual environment. The katsu is hand made and fresh from when you order it and it comes out on a giant plate. Service was on point, fast and friendly. They also have spicy bulgogi and udon options which I look forward to trying, will absolutely be back- this place will easily become a katsu staple for us. Absolutely some of the best katsu I've had and definitely the only Korean katsu I've had in SLC at this quality and level!! read more
