As a veteran of the Sushi industry my search for well crafted meals in America is never ending. Normally resturants that serve a variety of asian styles suffer in the quality department- fortunately Wasabi is not one of those resturants. We ordered the infamous sushi boat for two, and it was the perfect amount of food for 3 adults. Lots of variety and an impressive presentation. The soup & salad were average, and the staff was very friendly and quick to refill our drinks/bring our food. The atmosphere was lovely for a late afternoon lunch, and the bar area looked decent for happy hour/the evening times. read more

I'm torn about giving this restaurant 4 stars. They have some great dishes, but some that was not so good. I will have to try this restaurant's other items in the future to truly determine. However, just the fact it was a nicer sit down restaurant that isn not the typical American fare is a plus. The sushi is not as good as Miwa, but the other items were good such as the scallop with crab risotto. I could eat that all day. Definately worth a visit if you are in the Pooler area and looking for something a bit different. read more

Two words....Hillbilly Roll. This place is surprisingly amazing. I want expecting such great good sushi from a place in South Georgia. I stopped by as I was really in the mood for sushi and have been hooked on a local Savannah sushi place called TaCa. The Hillbilly roll is by far the best roll they have if you enjoy a spice roll. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone as it is moderately priced and puts out great food. read more

First time here and I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo, and my husband ordered the grilled eel. The chicken and shrimp combo was good, and was a decent sized portion. The grilled eel was fishy tasting, not sure if that's just how eel is or if this was due to freshness. I have had fresh seafood/fish before without the "fishy" taste so like I said, not sure if the eel wasn't fresh or if that's just how eel is. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. I guess you're paying for the nice atmosphere, because the food is a little overpriced. There's other restaurants in Pooler that serve the same cuisine/menu items for a lot less that are just as good. read more

Very good sushi. Wasabi makes great sushi and tastes fresh all the time. The only thing I would complain about is the price. Its a little pricey for 6-7 pieces of sushi but, it is usually not packed which means no wait, everything tastes good there from the California roll to the ramen noodle soup. This is an American-Japanese FUSION restaurant, hence you will be disappointed if looking for authentic Japanese fare. Their quality of fish was actually pretty decent, but oh my their tempura was horrible. If you know your tempura, you will surely want to avoid that here -- it's a Chinese style knock-off, the type you will find at your much cheaper Chinese owned sushi joints. Their prices on their entrée menu items are a tad bit too high for what it is, you're paying for the atmosphere and friendly service here. All in all, this place tries to be the fine dining of Japanese cuisine in the Savannah area, with a fancy wine menu as well, but it just doesn't come close to some of the Japanese-owned sushi restaurants in the area. Avoid if you want legit Japanese food. read more

DO NOT ORDER VIA YELP! I ordered delivery on Saturday night. After I submitted my payment information the confirmation said it would be 90 - 150 minutes for delivery. We were about a mile away. I called the restaurant to cancel. The gentleman who answered said they didn't handle their own delivery and gave me two different phone numbers to call. I called both, the same guy answered each time and told me he had no order for Wasabi. I called Wasabi back and the same gentleman gave me a different number to call. I called it and it was out of order. I called back to Wasabi and the same gentleman said they would cancel the order and I would not be charged. About an hour later someone different from Wasabi called and asked if we were picking up the order. I told him everything that had happened and asked him to confirm we would not be charged. He said we would not. This morning, our card was charged. I have left a message for the restaurant and will be submitting a complaint to Yelp. read more

The food and service were both good. The lobster bisque had great flavor, the tuna tataki was not ny favorite version of the dish, but still tasty. All of the rolls we tried were nice, although the eel in the Rebecca roll didn't really come through. My only real complaint was the pricing was a bit high...the tab was similar to Tangerine and higher than Sushi Zen SS, but everything was just a notch lower in comparison. If you want great sushi without going to Savannah, this is your place. The rolls are always super fresh and there are lots of different choices. You can't go wrong with any one you chose but I do recommend the Cry Baby Roll if you like a little bit of heat. read more

We ate there last week and we were not impressed. It looked much nicer on the inside than I was expecting and the service was really good, however both our meals were bad! My husband got chicken fried rice which was bland and cold, he also got beef Yaki udon which was over cook. I had got three different sushi rolls to try, their sushi menu was nothing special. Found this place on Yelp and gave it a try for lunch on our travels! It was fabulous! Great options and our choices were fresh and tasty! We had the duck appetizer and the shrimp dumplings - both delish! We are sushi eaters and it was nice to have some different creations from our usual fare back home. We went with the Hillbilly Roll and another one that I can't remember the name of but both were wonderful and expertly prepared! Got takeout, only one couple inside so not busy. I had Yakiniku steak (I was told it was sweet and tender) . It was tender but nothing sweet about it, not edible. I also had vegetable fried rice which was dried out and had no vegetables. My SO had Teriyaki Steak which had a good flavor and was tender. His white rice was fluffy and came with a seasoning sauce with he sadly poured over his rice without tasting it as he usually likes any type of seasoning but not this time, lol. Immediately was disappointed from the second we walked in. It was completely dead. Had two tables. Our server didn't care about his job whatsoever. The table cloths are covered in a giant sheet of white paper to cover how disgusting and stained the linens are. With only two other tables in the restaurant it took over 30 minutes to get our food and for the price it was a Pitiful amount. It was like grocery store sushi. Order the lobster bisque! The bowl is about 30oz. and brings joy to my life when I order it. The sushi is awesome. I like the hillbilly roll and the american dream roll. The cooked dishes are great and a better value than the other Japanese restaurants in the area. The dirty geisha martini was awesome. It's small and intimate setting feels like a date even in the middle of the day. Totally worth the time and money. Miss our favorite waitress though. read more
