Made an appointment about a month ago. Currently they are booked a month in advance. But staff is still efficient and providing great service. The waiting room is closed during COVID. You wait in your car and they call you on your cell phone when they are ready to see your pet. We did wait an hour - but it was soooo well worth it. I have two senior Chihuahuas And I bring them in for their mail grooming about every four weeks. This costs me $30.00 I can bring them in anytime without making an appointment. Of course there is some wait time for this and I am fine about that. But every time I call to have the vet check my sick pet, to me this is an emergency. This business only take appointments Which I had to wait 3 weeks just to have the vet take care of infections. To me, that timeline is like waiting for my pet to die. This makes me sad. Great affordable place to take your dog for ALL NEEDS, staffs friendly, even because they work so hard they do try to make you feel important to them as well as your dog needs too! The vet he is very careful to instruct what to give your fur baby an how many if medication is needed, and give X-rays if needed an will go over everything you need concerning your pet. But trying to make an appointment to be seen day of is very very hard some days more then others ! They take walk ins, even if you planned to go in early in the morning it's usually booked an they'll tell you to come back before 3 pm. There's usually a line in front of door but just because your waiting in your car for a hour till they open up again people will wait in front of the office crowd an say you weren't there when you were there waiting before they got in a make shift line, if your waiting to be seen as a WALK IN be careful of that issue with other pet owners, they will say you weren't there an would have drove down for nothing an not to be seen till the next day even if it's a EMERGENCY! Other then that great people really inexpensive but watch out for other dog owners not noticing you there before the 3pm break ends !! Thanks to one of the dog or cat owner women with the backpack who was waiting a lil before 2pm after I got there an NOTICED me and told other pet owners I was there so I wasn't turned away from service I really appreciate , wait time wasn't too bad since it was busy, it was about a hour and half wait time to be seen been here since 2:15 pm barely got a call to go in to be seen at 3:34 pm ! that date is 5/2/22 read more

I will always recommend this vet. I drive from Bakersfield and the extra time it takes is worth it. I have even met other pet owners that drive 4-5 hours to come to Wasco Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Edick is extremely professional and kind. If I have an appointment then I never wait long. Obviously the times I have been a walk-in my wait was a couple hours. The office is small, old and probably could be updated but my animals have always received such a great level of care that the aesthetics don't matter to me. The reasonable prices help too! Between my pets and extended family members pets we have had a few need to be put to sleep at Wasco Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Edick makes the whole process as easy as possible. He never rushes us and gives us as much time as we need, before and after the euthanasia. read more

We take our doggies here for almost 3 years and we love it! Yes the wait can be a wait, but it's so worth it. We had a issue with our young Cat and called them on a holiday and they told us to go in right away we only had a short wait and was able to be seen right away. I found a lost dog and called Wasco clinic to check him out. I explained the situation about him not being our dog, we being a new client, and the dog having puffy eyes and a cough. They told me the office can't make an appt but I can show up for a walk-in tomorrow morning, so I do. I'm then told, at the counter, after waiting outside for an hour, they will not offer this dog help because we are a new customer. Her only words were "sorry you were misinformed" (by us). Even though the vets in our area have high prices for fixing cats. Really disappointing. She would not even help me when she found out where I was from. Where do I start? I've lived in Bakersfield for two years now and I have been bringing all my furbabies to see Dr.'s Edwick & Edwick. They are the most compassionate and kind veternarian doctors I have ever encountered. As a profound animal lover, I have several and it can be expensive but they make it possible for me to be able to afford to treat all of my animals. Kern County and the surrounding communities are fortunate to have this father and son partnership. And available for walkins if you're a current patient otherwise you do have to make an appointment and it does take 2 to 3 weeks but it is well worth it, it is so worth it! read more

Let me just start by saying that they were able to take me in as a walk-in even though my pet had never been seen by them. Wait time was not bad AT ALL. Most we waited was maybe 15 mins? Meanwhile, I've waited hours elsewhere (with appointment). The vet was very informative and made sure our concerns were not only voiced but also answered. Pricing is also overall great! We for sure thought we'd get charged 200 or more but for a consultation, medication and two milk formula cans price came out to less than 100 dollars. Came in as a walk in. I did previously read the reviews so I anticipated a wait. It wasn't that bad. I told them that there was a lot of small dogs in the lobby and my dog doesn't like small dogs. They had me go thru the back. The vet examined my dog and it was a quick and easy examination. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. He talked me through what he was doing. I saw him looking thru the microscope, doing his doctor business. I did give him a heads up about some other things, but he wanted to try the antibiotics and other meds first. He was totally nice and so was the assistant. Like in other reviews, I do see where people have issues with the receptionist. There is the one girl with the bangs. She just doesn't look or sound happy. I think the other staff make up for it. Oh and the prices....so reasonable. I would definitely make the 20 minute drive to see the doc again. read more

I will try to make this review as easy to understand as possible... I have a 7-year old dog. My dogs left ear began to balloon up randomly last week. I called the Wasco Clinic and they told me the next available appointment they had was the next week. I decided to take him to the Four Paws emergency hospital here in Bakersfield just as a precaution to make sure that it wasn't life-threatening. He was diagnosed with an ear hematoma and Four Paws offered to do the surgery the next day... for $2000 total. That seemed a little high to me, so I called the Wasco Clinic back just to confirm they did not have any appointments, and they did not, so I decided to go in as a walk-in. I did have to wait 3 hours to see the vet, however, he looked at my dogs ear, confirmed that it was an ear hematoma, and that he could do the surgery that same day and I could come back and pick up the dog later that evening. I said sure no problem, gave my dog some hugs and kisses and headed home and waited for their callback. They called me back at 4:30 and said he was ready to go so I drove back to pick him up and got there about 5, they told me his surgery went well and he did great and when she told me the total... It was only $175 plus the prescription so in total about $210. I was able to save over $1,800 by driving an extra 15 minutes each way, 30 minutes round trip. As long as this place is open this is the only vet I will pay money to for my animal's care. For those of you that read this that think it might not be worth the wait, don't kid yourself... It is absolutely worth the wait. This is the only vet I've been to that treats the established in the best benefit for the animals, instead of a business only for making money. My vet in Delano closed so I needed to find a new one. This one was recommended by a friend. I took my new "male" kitten to get neutered. Seemed pretty basic. BUT, I was given a call a few hours later. "Mr.Cargle?" I said "yes. " "You brought your kitten Brian in to be neutered"? I said "yes" "Well, she's a female and we will have to spay her is that okay?" Well, the point of this is that as embarrassed as I was for not knowing the sex of my kitten, they never made me feel stupid and SHE is a healthy, spayed pretty kitty. :) read more
