I haven't been to Blackstone steakhouse in quite a while. On Friday I decided to take a friend for lunch it was 2pm and lunch ends at 3pm. We were greeted with a big smile by Percy ( whom we never met before) we ordered the burger, fries and chicken sandwich. My burger was medium rare juicy and cooked to perfection. My friend raved about her chicken sandwich. We weren't rushed and stayed for over two hours because we practically had the place to ourselves while engaging in great conversations with Percy. We highly recommend Blackstone. We will definitely go back for happy hour. read more

Blackstone Steakhouse has amazing food, good service and a nice upscale ambiance. The main dining area is in the front, and the bar is in the back. You can have a romantic dinner for two, or you can bring a large group. Blackstone can handle both well. The bar has bar stools and high top tables. You can enjoy your meal in the bar if you want. The service, regardless of where you sit, is really good - friendly and attentive. We come to this restaurant at least every other week and it is fabulous. I especially love the bone in ribeye and the burgers can't be beat. The staff are so accommodating and the food is fantastic. Went here for a Christmas Eve dinner and it was great! The dining area when you walk in is kind of on the small side but there's a bar on the opposite of the restaurant with more seating. I really liked the mood lighting. Our server was super nice and gave great recommendations. We started off with drinks, the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the wedge salad. They do charge a $2 fee to share the salad. Both portions were huge but the salad was fresh and tasty. For the entree I got the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I got the filet medium rare but it was kind of dry. My mom got the halibut and really enjoyed it. Overall not bad and I would come again with my family. read more

Chris was our waiter - fantastic guy whom we have known for years in the industry. We started with cocktails - the place looks great, the waiters are all dressed in uniform and are extremely skilled and well-mannered. It was 5 friends meeting after a few years not seeing each other - we were extremely loud but were tolerated. Cocktails and other libations were flowing and precisely poured. If you are a macho man like the late great Randy Savage - this place has got some amazing meat! Get your choppers ready to chew! Porterhouse for 3 but split it only 2 ways? Yes, please! I had the double-bone pork chop with a side of rigatoni. One of our friends had filet butterflied medium. The appetizers were huge, fresh, delicious, and enough to share, which we did. I don't understand the negative reviews on Yelp. Some people can't be pleased. . . But, as for us. . .We made reservations and arrived on time. We were seated immediately. It took a few minutes to get water and menus, but it was New Year's Eve and the place was packed. We ordered a bottle of wine. The wine list is extensive, but it is not cheap, even by the glass. After ordering our food, it came relatively quickly. The steaks were great cuts, without excess fat or grizzle. Cooked to perfection. The sides are big enough to share, and are delicious as well. Came here for my besties birthday dinner. The restaurant is very clean and beautiful. The service was great! We started off with the lemon pepper shrimp - white wine, garlic, and fresh lemon juice. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and it was good. I just wish it had more flavor. We all ordered the filet mignon. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were there! Unfortunately, they mixed up my friend's steaks! We ordered 2 sauces for our steaks, the port wine, and the mushroom. I found them to be very sweet. I didn't want the other sauces because I personally don't think they go well with steak. I wish they had a sauce with some zing, but again, that's my opinion. We ordered garlic mash, asparagus, and sautéed onions for our sides. The potatoes were good, I just didn't prefer the chunks of garlic in them. Came for a late lunch on a weekday, very quiet (took a while to alert someone we had arrived) but they were very accommodating since we were one of only 2 tables. Decent prices on wine- we split a bottle of red. The host saw we were still chatting at the end of the meal with no wine left, and brought us each a complimentary pour of the same bottle, always appreciated! For entrees since there were 2 of us so we each got a salad and split one steak- the 32 oz. rib eye. The salads were fantastic- caesar salad was chopped nicely with plenty of dressing and good flavor. The tri color salad also very good. Steak arrived sizzling and was cooked perfectly, crisp outer shell and perfect temperature (medium rare) on the inside. We got the peppercorn sauce on the side which was a great addition. We visited the Blackstone's Steakhouse for our 14th year wedding anniversary. Wow, I'm glad we did. I walked in with a smile and left with a smile. Upon walking in, the ambiance was serene, friendly and had nice warm lighting. The vibe felt like you knew you were in a steakhouse. Ahhhh the smell of juicy steaks. The appetizers, entrees and the desserts were amazing (see photos and comments), cocktail was a bit weak but the waiter was able to quickly fix the issue. Overall, we had an great experience. The waiter and host were exceptional with delivering the best service to us and for that we're forever grateful. They even remembered and acknowledged our wedding anniversary. Sometimes acknowledging an occasion can be a rarity in restaurants when my wife books and writes a special occasion through the app 'Open Tables'. The only downside we noticed was that the WiFi and/or reception there isn't the best - spotty at best. When trying to get an Uber, I had to physically move around different places to finally connect. A bit of a delayed review! I'm not really a big meat eater but I had heard a lot of good things about Blackstones! Thankfully they have something for everyone! I came in here with two co-workers on a Monday evening (back in the times of normalcy) and we were seated right away. The menu is very extensive and has a lot of great seafood choices in addition to the meat. To start out with, we got the Tuna Tartare, Clams with white wine sauce (special that night), Escargot, and Clams Casino (accidentally given to us but was my favorite!). They definitely put a lot of effort into the presentation but the taste also lives up! For my main course, I got the Branzino. After all those appetizers, I was already pretty full so I had about half of this yummy lemon-y dish and the rest for dinner the next day. I love the lemon and caper sauce, that's always a favorite. This spot is definitely more on the expensive side and has a very upscale vibe. Definitely recommend it for any special occasion! read more

Came in and ordered a tomahawk for 2, it was burned tasted bitter, and most of all I question if they even sprinkled any salt/pepper. Fired calamari was good could have been more crispy, but it was okay. All the side dishes was good, wish their steak could have any form of flavor. read more

Do you want really good steak? Come here. (I think this place is often overlooked. Never seems to be crowded.) This is a traditional steak house... The steak is over the top. Always prepared to the temp you desire. Always perfect! I always get the smallest filet. 10 Oz. And, always have leftovers. The sides are delish and generous. All are good. We love the mushrooms, onions, and spinach. And, all are good! You can't go wrong. The service is beyond compare. Your meal is brought out on a white table cloth covered cart. The appetizers have a great selection. The salads are def large enough to share. They do have fantastic desserts - try to save room. (It's a challenge.) The cheesecake is traditional NY style. Yum! Hubs and I went here during restaurant week and it was a nice experience. It was a week night so it wasn't too busy. Because it was a prefixed menu, we got apps, entree and dessert. We got the mozzarella tomato and the meatball which were both tasty. My steak was a little over cooked so it was a little harder to eat. Not complaining for the price though. Came with a work team (7) to this fine establishment and we all really enjoyed our food. I would say the only thing a bit run of the mill was the calamari on the appetizer selections. We also had oysters, and back bacon for starters. It was all fresh tasting and delicious. For the main meal, I had the chilean sea bass, I got to try the bone in Rib Eye which was an exceptionally well cooked piece of meat. A gigantic cut. The place is really old school decor, and that might be holding it back. It looks like something out of a 1950's movie, but it is very clean and the service we received from Jason I believe was just exceptional. Food was rushed out of the kitchen by a team, and everything seemed of the highest food quality. It's pricey so it needs to be top shelf food and it is. We also ordered some great wines, and this place has an excellent selection of wines. The table ordered a very nice (and yes expensive) Napa Valley Cabernet and the maitre'd decanted the wine for us. A nice touch. Desserts too are quite common offerings and they do offer espresso drinks as well. This is very much a first quality, full service steak house, with good fish selections as well. The service here is excellent, very attentive and efficient. Tonight we had a dinner with a customer. Food was good. Apps were hot, portions were a bit weak, but I attribute that to maybe post-covid pricing may have hit these areas. The calamari were a bit chewy, but good. French onion soup was great. Main course we had some ribeyes, New York and tenderloin. The NY strip was a bit tough. Not tender like it should (compared to recent ones I had a J Gilberts and Capital Grille). The tenderloin was ok. The bone in ribeyes were great. Post dinner coffee was good, but desserts weren't fantastic. Big bill for average food. Maybe it was a slow night and they were off. It's not what's on the outside that counts, it is about what's on the inside. Blackstones on Norwalk's Main street doesn't carry over the ritzy SoNo atmosphere, but when you walk in, you are greeted with a dark classic tone of New England. The dark accent wood, and the dim lighting sets a calm luxurious tone. Once greeted by reception, having a reservation made it a breeze to be seated. We even got to choose our own table. I took my mother out for a mother's day dinner and I was glad that I chose Blackstones Steakhouse. The older gentleman that brought us to our seats was chivalrous offering to take my mothers scarf and place it on the seat backrest for her. Those extra extensions of service made me overly pleased. The menu had a great selection of food, however, we ultimately had intentions for the Steak. For appetizers , we ordered oysters which required minimal work and tasted very fresh. Next was the tuna tar tar which was delicious with capers and shallots pulled together with a drizzle of soy sauce and scallions sauce. For the entree, we ordered the Porterhouse for 2. It came out sizzling and precut with manageable pieces. The server placed 1 cut of NY Strip and 1 cut of Filet for us. Finished with a teaspoon of the rendered fat and butter and a crack of fresh black pepper. The steak was excellent and cooked medium-rare to perfection. The sides we decided on were sautéed mushrooms and spinach which mated perfectly with our steak. The finisher I chose was a Malbec wine which brought the whole plate together. For desert, I had an Italian espresso and shared a delicious tiramisu. Our server Lila was friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant started to become busy. Extremely disappointing... My boyfriend and I have been looking forward to trying out Blackstones for quite some time. We both try to be moderately cost-conscious when dining, especially since many restaurants in Norwalk these days are quite pricey. That being said, we saw Blackstones was offering a prix fix menu for Restaurant Week, so we decided to seize the opportunity and try it out. Unfortunately, the second our waiter got wind of us participating in this promotion, he completely checked out. This was after he handed us a stained paper menu with the restaurant week deal. We are totally aware that restaurant industry workers probably have preconceived notion's around customers that come to restaurants solely for a discount, however we did order other items on the menu in addition to glasses of wine. When it came time for the dessert, I had asked if the waiter would be able to take them to go, as the restaurant was uncomfortably warm and I felt I needed some fresh air, he reluctantly agreed while letting us know "the purpose of restaurant week is to enjoy the food in the restaurant". He had walked away before I could even register that what he had just said was slightly rude. Nevertheless, he gave us our to-go dessert and we left (after paying double what we would have had we stuck to the restaurant week menu). Come home to find this in the doggy bag...used my finger for size reference on the Tiramisu. Unfortunately, this was just not a good experience whatsoever. I had dinner with three friends on a weekday. We sat at a high top table in the bar and Percy waited on us. We had a great dinner. We spent about three hours at the restaurant eating a lot of delicious food, drinking some great wine and just enjoying ourselves. I think my favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We ordered the Burrata Salad (special of the night), the Sizzling Canadian Bacon and the Lemon Pepper Shrimp. The Burrata came on top of a thick sliced red onion and had little cherry tomatoes with basil and oil on top. Very fresh and very seasonal. The Bacon--OMG the bacon. Thick wedges of bacon that were seared until super crispy on the outside and just juicy on the inside. The Lemon Pepper Shrimp--they offered the entree version as an appetizer. Three HUGE pieces of shrimp with this awesome lemon sauce. Lick the plate clean good. Entrees. We ordered the Grilled Veal Chop, the Tenderloin Beef Medallions, the Lemon Pepper Shrimp entree and the Salmon Filet. For sides, we ordered the vegetable of the day (sauteed Brussels sprouts), sauteed spinach, asparagus and the sauteed onions. All were amazing--perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and piping hot, like it should be. Portion wise, I would say that four sides for four people was more than enough. After dinner, none of us could eat anymore food but we could find more room for more drinks! Percy was a great server--I don't think our glasses were ever empty. Empty plates were whisked away immediately. Food was paced out appropriately and we never felt rushed or questioned where our food was. Overall, this was an excellent dinner. It was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with the person across from me at a two person table. Then a huge cart comes around with dirty dishes to clear the table next to us. Salads are exceptional, especially the tomato & onion, roasted red peppers & Roguefort. Clams on the 1/2 shell and crab meet cocktail appetizers were succulent. Not a beef or pork eater, I chose the Blackstones chicken with the velvety Beurre Blanc sauce. It was delicious. Creamed spinach, fried onion strings, & sautéed mushrooms, & Brussels sprouts were the perfect accompaniments to our entrees. The house made chips were heavy & too oily for our palettes. But all of the other side dishes & vegetables were tender, fresh and in fettered. All dishes are presented beautifully. Very stiff drinks. Nice wine list. Genuinely the worst steakhouse I've ever been to. My brother insists on going here for holidays and birthdays. I have never once been to this restaraunt without an issue with my steak. I would give this place 0 stars of it was possible! My husband surprised me with reservations to Blackstone's for Valentine's Day. We had 8pm reservations and we were seated almost immediately with bread and water showing up quickly after. 20 minutes later, the waiter that ran passed our table without as much of a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" finally stopped at our table and asked for our drink order. I asked for a wine list and menus as we were given nothing. Off he went with no apologies. We were given the menu and were left once again. He finally came back to take our drink order and we gave him our food order as well, in fear we weren't going to see him again for awhile. That was 30 min after we sat down. Another 30 minutes goes by and we have not received the soup or salad we ordered as an appetizer. The couple at the table next to us hadn't received drinks or bread after 30 min so I guess we were lucky to have that. It's now been an hour since we sat down. We try to get the waiter's attention, but he keeps running by us so fast, we can't get him. My husband finally gets up to talk to a gentleman that looks like the manager. They both come back to the table. The "manager" says it's really busy and the food will be out shortly. I let him know it's been an hour that we've been there with no food. His reaction was the throw his hands in the air and say, "well what do you want me to say". "I'd like you to say I'm sorry" I said. He mumbled sorry and walked away. Soup and salad finally arrive by the "manager" but now we are so disgusted by the treatment of the staff, we contemplate cutting our losses, ending the bad experience, and going elsewhere. The "manager" offered a free glass of champagne. I told him a glass of champagne was not going to make up for how he treated us. I told him we are business owners ourselves and we chose this place of all places to spend our money and have a good experience on this holiday. To be treated the way we were treated and to have our holiday ruined is appalling. He leaned over to me and whispered an offer of a bottle of wine. I told him we weren't that heavy of drinkers. He asked what I wanted. I asked that he think about it and come back with a solution. He left the table. Another 30 minutes and our steaks finally arrive. We cut into it. Overcooked. I flag the "manager" over to show him. He grabs my knife in disgust and proceeds to angrily cut into the center of my and my husband's steak with such ferocity, his glasses go flying out of his pocket and hit our table. Yes, mine was better when you cut into the middle and he preceeded to snap, "see... red!". My husband's was truly overcooked but the "manager" didn't care. He walked away fast leaving his glasses on our table. I start to eat my steak my husband is just letting his sit on the table untouched. When I ask what's wrong he says, "it's overcooked. I'm so sorry I chose this place and ruined your Valentine's Day." The waiter finally arrives back to the table and asks how everything was. I proceed to tell him about the night and the "manager's" reaction. My husband hands the waiter the "manager's" glasses. The waiter apologizes and said he is taking care of the entire bill. (We left him a tip although we hadn't seen him all night.) The people next to us still had nothing but bread and water at their table. On the way out, the older couple that sat behind us said to us, "I don't blame you for being mad." I stopped and spoke to them and they shared their feelings of disappointment too. The man then said, that's not the manager... that's an owner". I look up and the owner is looking at me talking to this couple. I just shake my head and walk out. Conclusion: They are living off of a reputation of long ago and they don't care about their customers. At least if the food was incredible it would of been worth it, but sadly it was mediocre. There are other great steak places in the area (Washington Prime for example) and I will NEVER return to a place where the owner treats people like that! read more

My wife and I visited Blackstones on Valentine's Day. This is the second time we visit the location. It was very busy as expected. But we had no complaints. The service was very good. My wife and I both had 2 glasses of wine. We also started with the seafood platter for 2. My wife had the filet mignonette and I had the ribeye and what can we say it was all delicious and well prepared. Then we had 2 Sides the garlic mash and the cream of spinach. Both were delicious then we ended with the red velvet cake for 2 and it was amazing. Blackstones is one of the best steak houses in the Northeast and it rivals any steak house in NYC. For the price conscious you probably want to skip this place but if you win a bet or someone else is paying... don't pass it up. Went to Blackstone's on a night when I was solo, and ate at the bar. Bar staff was very attentive and engaging...much better than under the old Del Frisco's ownership. I had a burger with fries, and both were prepared to my liking.
