The quality of care is great. The folks at reception are rude and unwelcoming. They misled me about my insurance and what would be covered. Ended up out of pocket more than expected. I would advise you to look elsewhere. read more

Came to NYC for a wedding and my temporary crown popped out the evening of my arrival. Called around to dentists the following morning to see about having it recemented. The WSDG office was open on a Saturday morning and incredibly helpful and friendly. They picked up before the first ring every time I called! After getting quoted a slightly high out of pocket price we figured out that my insurance would work after all and they got me a slot within an hour. The staff even called me back to let me know the copay once they had figured it out. Everyone was similarly great upon arrival and I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. Obviously this was not a very challenging dental procedure but I can't speak highly enough about this practice's professionalism and helpfulness. Great experience. read more

We came in to the office for our appointment and was told that our insurance was no longer accepted. The receptionist, who was so mean and rude, lying to us that she'd been calling but had no answer. I know she was lying because my phone was with me all time and there was no missed call from the office at all. I even received a text message 2 days before confirming the appointment. They didn't even bother to call. She called to reschedule my previous appointments on the day of the appointments. She lacks professionalism, was mean and nasty. How the management tolerate this kind of behaviors just perplexes me. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Truong for almost a decade now. I have seen her for regular cleanings to emergency visits and everything in between. I always feel at ease when I am in her chair and know that I am in great hands, no matter what service I am there for. Her staff is friendly and thorough. I am always greeted with a smile and rarely have to wait to be seen. I have also met Dr. Darling and felt at ease talking to her. The entire staff at the practice is knowledgeable and professional. They take their time with you and listen to your concerns. The office is VERY convenient, no matter what borough you live in as there are many trains near by. I was referred to Dr. Horowitz by a colleague years ago. A different dentist tried to convince me that I needed a deep cleaning and needed it immediately for thousands of dollars. I take care of my teeth and decided to get a second opinion. Best decision ever. The hygienist at WSDG confirmed that their cleanings are thorough and that I did not need an invasive procedure. A few years after that, they fit me in last minute for an emergency. They are out of network for my major dental insurance. I suggest anyone who needs to have anything done always check with your insurance on cost via a pre-treatment estimate. I've never had an issue with scheduling. They email, call and text reminders. The women at the front desk are lovely and helpful. Appointments book up quickly but they will always attempt to accommodate changes. I recently had a crown replaced with Dr. Truong and she explained what she was doing throughout the procedure and was very gentle. She and the tech were so thorough and spent time matching the crown color to my teeth. They have amazing technology, everyone is pleasant and I trust their expertise read more

My beloved Dr. Berger retired, and good for him. However, I'm not a fan of the changes in office management. Now they require you to have a credit card on file and charge it without prior notification of the dollar amount. I'm uncomfortable with them charging the card without my knowing how much. The hygienist tonight tore up my gums and Dr. Horowitz was just ok. Perhaps it's time to move on. read more

You know what? They care. They really do care. Karen at the front desk is awesome, Mary Ellen cleans your teeth with purpose and without a bunch of idle chatter that makes you feel stupid because you can't answer her with a bunch of tools and suction hoses in your mouth. If you're looking for a good, honest, solid dentist, Dr Berger is great. So is Dr Horowitz that he shares the office with. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. I never feel like they're taking advantage of me or trying to convince I "need" some sort of procedure. If you prefer to g to medi-spas and have your dentist wrap you up in blankets, this is not the place for you. While Dr. Troung is an amazing dentist, the staff at the front desk do a terrible job of communicating crucial information such as the fact that they are out of network with one'a insurance. Had several contacts with the scheduling person and was not told once about that they are out of network. I just had a cleaning and they not only told me I need to floss more (as always), but showed me the best technique to use which was very helpful. I had a minor orthodontic emergency this morning and when I called, Karen was super helpful and got me an appointment for within the hour. I've been going to Dr. Horowitz for a couple of years now, but it only just occurred to me to write a review about him. I feel incredibly lucky to have found him and the rest of the staff at Washington Square Dental Group. He's not only unfailingly pleasant but also, in my experience, a perfectionist in his work. For instance, I had an implant whose crown was created by my last dentist. The crown broke several times. Dr. Horowitz dedicated himself to replacing it and making sure I had no more problems with it, despite its less-than-ideal position. I'm very happy with the results. In many other ways, I feel that he does solid work. And I haven't even mentioned the others on the staff! From the receptionists to the assistants to the hygienists, they're all as pleasant and helpful as Dr. Horowitz. I'm so glad my friend who goes there recommended them to me! read more

Dr. Horowitz is complete monster. I had a damaged tooth and he recommended a bridge. He grinded out 3 of my front teeth - i really did not understand that he was destroying my mouth. Avoid this person like THE PLAGUE. I don't know what his problem is but he destroyed my mouth - I had a problem with 1 tooth. Now I am facing $20k just to make my front teeth OK. I was recommended this dentist by a friend. I called three weeks in advance to make an appointment. I submitted long forms and personal information online I sent in my insurance form. You can imagine my surprise when the day before I received a phone call we think your insurance will only pay 30.00 so we need a credit card on file. Now I can understand wanting a check that day if you are worried. I was insulted and in addition my insurance pays about 40% of the bill. I have never had this experience before I cancelled the appointment. read more

Dr. Truong actually makes going to the dentist a good experience. I had my teeth cleaned, it didn't hurt and she did such a good job that I had thought I needed teeth whitening but after her cleaning my teeth were so clean and white that whitening treatment was no longer needed! She gave me a filling and it didn't hurt and I had a chip fixed and I can't even see where it was now. I didn't even feel the needle she used for freezing. I highly recommend her! read more

I've been going to this dentist for more than 10 years and I never fail to be impressed by how skilled and knowledgeable Dr. Berger is and how truly exceptional his work is. Plus, he has a terrific "chair side manner", addresses all concerns with respect and clarity, has a wonderful hygienist - Sandra - who I see for my periodontal treatments, and a warm, welcoming, and thoroughly efficient staff who are a delight to deal with.
