They are closed now but served Kennewick and surrounding area for over 100 years. It's sad to see this type of family run businesses disappear for the NO HELP BOX STORES. I like this store. I have been here twice, and the people seem like they have been running it for decades. They get ya as soon as you come in, to see what you need, but just don't come across as pushy. As soon as they find it, they leave you alone. I like that type service. Also their prices are better than Ace. And most that work at Ace look like they are waiting for their break, except a few of the older folk who are much more helpful. But yeah, I will be going to this Tru Value ahead of Ace from now on. read more

Unfortunately I am changing my positive review to a negative. I have always tried to support family owned businesses and this is one. Today after spending $4,500.00 on furniture I was pleasantly surprised by the Owner... the Owners comment of using Credit. I use my credit card on all major purchases for points. Your comment was so displeasing, I would have canceled on the spot if you were not the only supplier in the state... last time doing business... such a shame. I am giving them the last star for the kind heart the owner have. It was so slippery today and I was certain I will not be able to cross the street without falling on my face. I was sweating even in the cold weather as I am trying to balance and walk at the same time. I was almost crying when I heard the voice of the owner telling me he will .help me. It's all about the service. Perhaps no other place in town has it like them. They also know their stuff. once I came before they opened like 30 minutes,and walked up to the door just to see the hour sign. The owner saw me and came over, even with the lights still off and opened to sell me an item. Try that at a big store....... Or any store for that manner. Best place to get help, at the you know where store....... Is to stand by the break room entrance and stop them as they come out. Not this crew. Thanks guys!!! read more

I thought I had found the perfect chair and foot stool for my new home. However as I was busy moving in and shopping for other needed items I did not spend much time in the chair, I had about eight days and was having difficulity with the fabric rubbing my arms sore. I called the store and Barbara who runs the furniture section said she could only talk to manager about problem. Long and short of it they did nothing for me, basically said tough luck lady. I had paid for this item in full and would have gladly exchanged it for something else but no they said it was not used furniture and they had no return policy. Watch out folks if you shop in this store, I will never grace their doors again. read more

Their "customer service" borders on badgering, stalking and generally hovering over the customer, you are watched, confronted multiple times with the same questions... dont get me wrong customer service is always nice, But this is hounding, masquerading as customer service.. they really need a sign that says, "browsing is only allowed with a store clerk" You can forget browsing on your own, Dont stop and show interest in anything, or you get pounced on with questions and pushed to buy.. you will be inundated with hired help constantly following you, asking you if they can help you.. For some reason, everyone feels the need to take a turn asking you the same questions.. even when they are in earshot of one another.. It's a cool store to be sure, think ranch and home on a smaller scale, But i just cant get past the badgering.. I live downtown, and I go out of my way to NOT shop there, Just because of their pushy pressure. I know they have been in business for a long time, and they are an Icon in the tricities, But This is the 21st century... people like to browse, and want to enjoy their shopping experience without the constant hounding. read more

Best customer service, hands down. Great selection, great prices. Lots of wierd little unexpected goodies. They have never failed me. I love LOVE LOVE this store. Shopping here for not only your hardware needs but also gardening, kitchen and even furniture and BBQs is a great way to support our local economy. I like them, I actually go out of my way to come and shop there, because they are local and staff is friendly. They are very knowledgeable and very very very helpful. I exaggerated the "very" part because the help is really that big, I promise you will be helped as soon as you step through the door. Yes could be annoying but at the same time could save you some time if you are looking for something specific. read more

The store itself is nice and nice people work there. However, don't try buying a mattress from them. Long story short we were screwed out of $400.00 over a defective mattress. Won't be buying any kind of furniture from them-EVER. read more

They carry Flexsteel and Bassett furniture and we were surprised at how competitive they were in price compared to the less expensive but much poorer quality brands. Most of the furniture stores carry the Ashley brand. We purchased an Ashley set a few years ago and it's already broken down. A Bassett couch we bought in the 80's has cushions that are still firm - there is a huge difference in quality folks! The salesperson said that they have hundreds of fabrics to choose from so if you find a couch you like you can special order exactly what you need. I've learned my lesson when it comes to buying furniture - spend just a little more and get a brand that will last for generations. Their hardware department is small but really well stocked. We have always found what we needed - especially since they have a very attentive staff and the owners are always there. It's worth a visit and while you are there, check out some of the cute shops in Downtown Kennewick. read more

What great service! I was greeted immediately and helped through the item I needed (gloves), was assisted in a couple other things I decided I needed. Everyone was very friendly and more than willing to help! After my purchase, I realized I forgot to get a receipt or lost it on the way back to work. I called and spoke to the owner (who wrang my purchase up) and asked if I could swing back by and get a copy as I needed it for work reimbursement, of course I was told yes, I let him know would be either yesterday (day of purchase) or today to come by as our work hours are the same. Before I knew it, within 10 minutes, he had someone drive down and bring it to my work directly and showed up with the receipt! This was such great and unexpected service, even for a small purchase, was above and beyond!
