I just renewed my membership at WashU. Earlier in the year I canceled my membership figuring that I am retired and have time to wash my own car. It didn't get washed as much as I thought it would, no matter how much I dried it, there was always water spots, the tires were turning brown, I was always wiping the bugs off the windshield. I am back, signed up for the top package. Now I realize how much better the car looks after I run it through the WashU wash. No more water spots, no more dead bug residue on the windshield just a clean shiny car. The car now again feels smooth to the touch, like a fresh waxed car. I guess I learned my lesson. read more

I like this car wash for its convenient location & quick wash to knock the dirt loose and there is free vacuum area. I dislike that it seems to be staffed by teens & young adults that have no personality or customer service skills. I realize that's it's probably an after school job, part time gig for most. The staff aren't rude or anything, don't get me wrong. The customer service skill set just has not been honed. I've experienced this on numerous visits. Yesterday I stopped in for a car wash. After my wash, I went to vacuum the inside of my vehicle. The vacuum system shutdown about a minute in. Not understanding the issue --several customers including self, were looking at the hoses and each other. Being closest to the door, I went inside to ask was there a problem with vacuums? The young man stated "We're closing early it's a holiday." The proper way to serve the customers that were patronizing the business have would have been to an announce to customers --who may not have known closing was within minutes --that everything was shutting down a 'X time' for an early close, (which wasn't posted for customers to immediately see) That's customer service. I mean it's a car wash so u don't expect much, but maybe I do. read more

If you have a membership there's been so many times that I've came in the morning when they should be open and they're closed so much time wasted expecting for them to be open and the combs are blocking the lanes very disappointed by now canceling my membership. read more

I am a monthly member and I've purchased the premium member. Multiple times I've been through the car wash and multiple times. I've received the wrong car wash in error, which is typically a basic car wash not the expensive car wash I paid for. When speaking to the associate and the best they could do was have me wait back in their half hour line to have my car rewashed. Unfortunately that's not valuable option that would take an hour at a car wash to have your car washed the correct way when you pay for premium membership originally. I would not recommend paying for the premium membership, but that's location because you might not get what you pay for. read more

I had the top level membership and was pretty happy with everything. However, I got a crack in my windshield and didn't have the $2000 for repair. So I cancelled my membership, through the online portal. Somehow, half a lear later they are still billing me. Even after they deleted my license plate and barcode from the system. But they still have my card info on file, funny how that works. Complete shady practices. read more

Do not go to this car wash unless you want your vehicle scratched from their equipment. I have a 2025 Silverado, one month old, took it to this car wash based on a few recommendations. Went through on a Friday, thought it did a decent job, so returned on a Saturday and signed up for their monthly pass. Proceeded to go through the wash, drove home (5 minutes away) got out of my vehicle and noticed a scratch on my hood near the center. Immediately returned to WashU where I spoke with Nate, the manager, and filled out a damage claim. Nate told me he would call me the following Tuesday. Nate never called, I called multiple times, left messages and finally went up to see Nate on Wednesday where I received a deer in the headlights look. He disappeared for a minute, then came back and said they were denying the claim because there was no clear evidence. What evidence do you need besides the scratch appearing on a brand-new vehicle immediately after going through your car wash. Nate advised that if multiple people complained on the same day, then maybe they would honor the claim. I Contacted Julia, a regional manager, who after two days told me the same thing. There are plenty of car washes in Plainfield and I would advise everyone to stay away from WashU Car Wash unless you a gambler and want to take the risk of having your vehicle damaged. If you do continue to use this business, I would suggest taking a picture of your vehicle before entering the wash or have plenty of friends around that will say their vehicle was damaged as well. I was at the one on rt 59 and was told I would get a free membership for a month. The guy was standing at the kiosk pushing for it. I was told I would not be charged any fees and it would automatically end in a month. I asked a few times to ensure no auto renewal and no fees. And was reassured no it would not renew and no I would not be charged. Lies. I was charged the monthly fee one month later. I will never use this business again. read more

I went to the WashU car wash and got stuck inside. I saw the attendant that let me through go outside and when it stopped I waited a while, then honked 3 times and no one came. My windshield was full of suds and I could not see at all outside of my car and I am claustrophobic so I wanted to make sure someone knew I was in there. I honked again 5-6 times and hear a man shout "chill out, relax!" I could not see and was afraid the first attendant was the only one there and left so I was trying to get her attention from outside. I stepped inside after to let the one who yelled at me, Devin, know that I did not appreciate his tone or yelling at me to relax. He said he was right there and was coming to fix it and I honked aggressively at him like no one before. He yelled that he didn't say what I incorrectly claimed he said (which was something else similarly rude) and yelled that he knew what he said. I explained I could not see and he proceeded to call me "hon" which I truly do not appreciate after he was already patronizing me. I asked for his name which he did not want to give initially, told him I would do the survey and left. He followed me out and took a picture of my license plate to which I asked him why and he stepped back inside without a word to me and motioning his hand for me to go away. I went to dry my car off and he came out and I asked him why he was recording me, he said I disrespected him and told me again I was aggressively honking and I explained to him again I could not see at all and was trying to get someone's attention, he did not want to listen, he wanted to shout at me in front of other customers. He explained the mechanics of how the car wash worked and why someone had to come start it back up and how it can't just be a button press to restart, I told him my issue was his tone, rude demeanor and lack of accountability for his actions and the way he spoke to me. I've been a manager for over 20 years and was shocked by this manager's idiocy when it comes to handling customer issues. This is their manager, who immediately started yelling at me and his tone and demeanor were erratic and childish, literally running away while I spoke to him telling me about how quick he couldn't be in turning the car wash back on, dramatically running off and running back to me. There would be no issue if he realized his tone and care in the situation was not okay. He proceeded to tell me he was giving me good customer service and he could show me bad customer service, following me around my car as I dried it and yelling at me, only proving more of how incapable he is of handling minor situations. He kept telling me I disrespected him and I kept asking him how, he did not answer because I did not disrespect him, I tried to hold him accountable to his actions, behaviors and words and he did not like that. Their customer service called me and told me their DM would reach out, they both apologized and said that behavior and experience was not okay. I asked that they speak with Devin and to call me back after, as I did not feel comfortable going there with him feeling so comfortable screaming at me and harassing me by following me out to my car twice after I defused the situation with him blowing up at me. I told them I've never had a problem with anyone else at any point with my membership I've held for over two years. I reached back out four times asking if he was talked to and if I could finally go back and get a car wash. They didn't answer and left me on hold for almost 15 minutes without answer, I left a message and they still didn't call back within the timeframe they gave. I called again and they again apologized and said he was off for weeks and they weren't sure why the district manager Carlos hadn't called me yet because they thought he talked to him the day prior. They waited weeks to take action, if ever, after their manager followed me out and harassed me. I canceled my membership after so many attempts to get them to correct the situation. read more

The self service vaccum area was tidy, and there were plenty of clean hand towels at your disposal. The staff, although pretty young, seemed attentive and friendly. Price of a basic wash continues to go up every year, and every time I have a wash code from the gas station I have to wait until someone comes and punches it in for me. The basic wash won't even clean bird sh*t off your hood. Drive 5 minutes south to Clean Image car wash and they towel dry for the same price. read more

I've had a monthly membership since a few weeks after the business was established. In the beginning the car wash was great. I was one level below the top package and it seemed to go well. Recently, there's been a problem with the tire gloss, which is a part of the package. Tire gloss is important to me as it is a line item on the package I purchased. As time moved on, the prices were raised which were reasonable in my opinion, but the tire gloss problem continued. I remember when the area around the vacuums was always clean and the trash bins were serviced more than one a day. I began to notice the inside of the car wash needed a wash down at best, but this rarely happens. I felt really good going thru a car wash that was well maintained and the equipment worked properly. Not related to the wash itself, as much as access, I attempted to use one of their other facilities mid day. When I pulled into the Member Line, the window tag indicating I had a membership didn't work. One the employees told me their car wash reads license plates! Surprise! With several locations, it would've been nice to know the other locations permitted access in this manner. Recently I went thru with my Grand Caravan at the Plainfield location and the tire gloss applied gloss to the right front wheel, passed on the right rear and didn't touch the left side at all. Prior to reaching the tire gloss the tires displayed no evidence of being cleaned at all. True the employees would offer to apply the gloss manually, but not on a dirty tire! This issue has occurred a number of times to the point where each time either a manager or employee said they would look into it. Sadly, nothing has changed. Is it me? I think not. I ran my Toyota RAV4 thru and as you may surmise, the wheels were cleaned, but no tire gloss applied. This car has the same package. As of this writing I'm moving on to another car wash. I'm a fanatic when it comes to clean cars. I go everyday weather permitting and expect to get what I pay for. I don't think it's fair to the ownership to rate this business 1 as I believe this could be a better car wash. In addition, this business is needed in the area where it's located. I recently spoke to Lily who seemed to be sincere in getting the issues attended to. Unfortunately, this takes time and there's other choices in the area that might have issues(?) but I've visited 3 others and each of them did a good job that didn't require going thru again to correct any flaws. I paid $20 for the premium wash service yet my car is still obviously dirty. I feel ripped off. The list of services "includes" an interior vacuum but doesn't disclose that their facility is 100% self-service, which means I was expected to vacuum my vehicle and towel dry it myself. For $20?! Basically, I paid $20 for 90 seconds' worth of "cleaning" (more like a mist) while my car sat on a conveyor belt, only to reach the end and discover that all of the self-service vacuum stalls were occupied and that no towels were provided for me to use. I have been a member since they opened. Top package, 2 cars. The results and execution have fallen significantly and I think I will have to cancel and move on since it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Leadership and management seem to be non existent in making improvements. The tire shine is hit or miss. Drying results are the worst they have been and the heated drying is not even on anymore. They added towels and glass spray but 50% of the time is not even out and available. I tend to go early in the morning and they open with one person and she is working hard but appears to be frustrated herself. I went this morning and had to go thru twice because something was wrong with the rinse. It still left wax all over the glass streaking and of course no towels or spray to clean it off. I drove to a gas station to clean the windows. I'm sorry but my neighbors say the same thing. Use to love the place and now it's very poor. Time to move on. read more

Love the monthly pass - this place is very good for an automatic wash. No rails to scratch the rims, high pressure water, and auto tire gloss - no waiting for someone to shine the tires. The carwash on 84th and Cicero has the newest technology entering the machine. They have a flat conveyer belt that moves the vehicles. The vacuums has high suction and the are narrow to fit between seats and small spaces. This is my go-to carwash, very reasonable prices. There's a young man by the name of Jerry that was super helpful. As I'm middle-aged, he was very attention to my needs. Thank you Jerry for being such a sweet and humble young man. read more

Not sure just yet. I signed up for the monthly pass,and this is a great deal. I have washed my car 4 times in the last 3 weeks at wash u,and each time it hasn't completely removed the dirt. It seems like in the same areas. Now it has been Very cold out,but I don't think it should be not cleaning in the same areas. I do have a Crossover vehicle but this shouldn't matter. One part of the wash the brush is vigorously going across the car. Now I do want it clean,but is this affecting at all my clear coat or making any swirl marks on finish at all. I would of given 4 stars if not for the dirty areas, or 5 if I knew the answer to the affecting of the finish. If anyone knows, I would appreciate any info. So I'm going to decide IF I am going to keep the pass. Time will tell. 3 stars for now. Been going there quite a bit since I still have the monthly pass. Cleans car about 99 percent. Certain corners still come out a little dirty. What I'm not happy about is the drier. Every time I have to pull over and towel dry. I know it doesn't or shouldn't dry All the way,but every time now it's dripping water on one side. When I first started I noticed both of the burners at the end where fired up and did a good job of drying. But about half a dozen times now,just the one side is on. Love this place! I'm extremely picky where I bring my car. The wash is fantastic, I really like that it's eco-friendly. I feel so much better washing my car everyday because it uses so much less water than traditional car washes. The free vacuums are a huge plus. Most car wash places have terrible vacuums, these really suck! (See what I did there ;) ) The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. I would suggest getting the memberships. You are able to go daily for one monthly price, the package pays for itself in 2-3 washes. I definitely recommend this car wash to anyone in the plainfield area. read more

It's a car wash. Not the best one I've ever received, but surely not the worst. Just your average run of the mill car wash facility. Newer building and facility which I like, because typically less damage and scratches to the car. If I'm in the area again, I'd stop in for another one. Quick wash with no major complaints. This wash machine has damaged my vehicle twice!! I have chrome on the front grill of my suv, now there are black marks all over it from their brushes/spinners that will not come off. In addition, it has taken a section of paint off the front bumper. I will never visit this car wash again. They need signs posted that state, "Enter at your own risk!" And why are there attendants helping me select my wash? I hate that, they need to back up and let me do it myself. How about you have those guys help dry the vehicles instead? It's pretty simple to select the wash and slide my card. Also the customers who are done vacuuming need to move their cars and not sit in a vacuum spot talking on their phone. read more

This use to be my favorite car wash. It had the best car wash and vacuums and was a great deal for the money. Lately, not so much. First, why the need to have staff at the entrance to pick the car wash for you? I think most people can figure out how to work a machine for a car wash. Plus, they always rush through it with me and often times pick the incorrect wash. I've also felt most of them tend to be rude and rushed. Second, the last several times I've been here, the vacuums are either broken or not strong enough to clean the inside of my car. My suggestions are to drop the staff at the entrance and just let people work it on their own. It seems like a waste of time and money? Second, work on the vacuums. The strength and quality of them is lacking. I hope this car wash can become the wash I use to love! read more

Went here today for the first time, I have a black car and I think the wash was really good for only $8

so I drive a truck and I have an arrow antenna and In the past I have gone to different car washes and I've had problems and scratches that happen after I get done with the was and most of the time theses places would fix it. so before I get in the actual machine I make sure look to see what scratches are old. As soon as I came out of the wash at the "Wash U Car Wash", I pulled into the free vacuums to clean my carpets when I noticed that by backseat passenger door was scratched up. when I went to the manager of the shift, he took photos of the damage and wrote my name and number down and told me he would call me within the next day. he even told me the scratches looked brand new. Two days passes and I decided I was going to check up on it to see what was going on because I never received a call. when I got there I was talking to one of the managers and he told me the scratches didn't come from his car wash and they were their previously. so they wont fix it. I am absolutely 100% positive that the scratches happened from the machine. All I know is that I'm never going back there and I hope that if you read this you wont either. read more

I purchased their monthly plan about 2 months ago for my 2015 Silverado pick up. I don't know if its the configuration of the machines but it literally leaves the entire tailgate untouched. This wash also utilizes rapidly spinning "brushes" that really are taking a toll on the clear coat on the truck as well. I started seeing heavy swirl marks in the paint not long after starting to use this place. My biggest issue is that it just simply doesn't do a very good job. If I have any amount of dirt on the running boards, it leaves the majority of that dirt right where it sits. Even with the so called "high pressure undercarriage wash" the running boards and brackets continue to go untouched. If you really just want your car rinsed off, this place is OK and cheap, but if you want something closer to truly clean (I'm not saying spotless like a handwash, just not missing major areas) then this place is not for you. I'm cancelling my monthly pass this month and trying another place close by to see if they are any better. read more

The wash all around is okay but the people working there need better training. They put me on the track too close to another car, and the car in front of me couldn't get off the track so i almost rear ended him. Car was still dirty but I definitely wasn't planning on going back in there. Ive been here a few times and it seems like theres never anyone at the pay stations, and theres a guy that looks like he's miserable there. I'm guessing he is the manager because he looks slightly different from other employees. Wouldn't recommend this wash to friends. Not a friendly place to wash your car.
