If I cold leave negative stars I would. Waste Management is hands-down the most dishonest, incompetent, crooked excuse for a company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Buckle up, because this is a horror story of lies, rudeness, and absolute disregard for customers and even the environment. I cancelled my service in February for a home I SOLD. Done deal, right? Wrong. Fast forward to August when I tried to start service at my new home. I logged in, requested a trash can, and was told it would be delivered in 7-10 days. Two weeks later? No can. No service. Nothing. And that's when things really went downhill. I log back into my account only to find a $300 past due bill slapped on the old house I had canceled months before. When I called to straighten it out, the rep was so unbelievably rude he actually hung up on me. Called back, got a different person who admitted she could see the note in my account that I DID in fact cancel when I said I did--and that Waste Management actually owed ME money. Guess what? Still waiting on that refund to this day. But wait--it gets worse. The very day I planned to call about my missing can, I was driving behind a Waste Management truck going through a NATIONAL PARK. And what do I see? Trash literally falling out the back of the truck. A glass bottle flew out, smashed into the road, bounced up, and shattered my windshield. In a national park. I immediately called, and it took them 20 minutes just to track down the driver and tell him to stop spilling garbage all over protected land. I was promised a local team would call me in 24 hours to file a claim. No call. I called back the next day--they said I'd get a call that day. No call. Called again--this time they swore I'd get a call by 3 pm. No call. So I call AGAIN, and now I'm told, "Oh, sorry, no one handles claims on weekends." When I asked for a supervisor, they told me none were available. I pushed harder, and magically--suddenly--a "supervisor" appeared. And what did this person say? That insurance claim calls take four business days. Another lie on top of a pile of lies. At this point, I said just cancel my service and refund me. The rep said she couldn't. CAN'T cancel? CAN'T refund? What exactly CAN this company do besides lie, hang up on customers, steal money, dump trash out the back of their trucks, and make empty promises? Waste Management is a scam. Plain and simple. They are crooks hiding behind corporate policy. They lie to your face, they string you along, they damage your property, and they pollute national parks. And after all that, they still refuse to make things right. Avoid this company at all costs. They will take your money, give you nothing in return, and then laugh in your face when you try to hold them accountable. Waste Management - Bad truck, bad tie down that lead to trash falling out in a National Park! - Recycling Center Near Me

If you have another option for regular trash pickup, you're fortunate. Waste Management trucks seem to empty every other trash bin that's lined up along my street. At least that's the way it works for me when the bins on either side of me are empty at the end of the scheduled pickup day and mine is still full. The first time that happened, WM promised an "extra" pickup on a subsequent day, I pulled my bin down to the pickup location, and found it still full at the end of the day. No "extra" pickup. Now, since my bin was just skipped again on trash day, WM has again promised an "extra" pickup. Am I going to pull my bin out to sit in the sun all day waiting for the "extra" pickup? I have NO confidence they'll show up so I don't see the point. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned that I scheduled a pause on trash pickup while I was out of town for two months and then received a bill showing that WM had picked up my trash while I was gone. What trash? That took more phone calls to resolve. Hopeless! read more

The absolute worst customer service. There is no direct phone number listed on the online account so I had to find a number that was to a location in Mississippi (I'm in Arizona). The guy couldn't help me, transferred me to an AZ location the woman couldn't cancel my service so she transferred me -- whereupon I was on hold for 20 mins (I hung up). I tried twice -- was put on hold. The third time I told the person what was happening, she canceled my service -, even though it wasn't her job. Sure enough, EVEN THOUGH THE BIN HAD BEEN PICKED UP, the 3 month payment was taken out of my bank account EVEN THOUGH I REMOVED THE BANK ACCOUNT INFO FROM MY​ WM ACCOUNT. I called to get a refund -- the guy said it would appear on my account by the following Friday. Of course, it wasn't. I called the next Monday. the guy said it would be in my account by Thursday. nope. Just called again. The woman said "Oh. Refunds are by check and takec6 to 8 weeks." You have Got to be kidding me. I told her that if I were a day late with my AUTOPAYMENT WM would be on my butt looking for their money. I then said that there is no way they are not crediting my bank account as opposed to sending me a check. She transferred me to her supervisor. I told her that if they can take money directly out of my bank account then they can put money back into my bank account. She put a reverse (not a refund) on the auto payment that had been. She said it should take 7 to 10 days. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Save yourself a nightmare. Do not sign up for residential service with Waste Management. read more

OMG they don't pick up my trash, there is no one to call, if you wait to talk to someone, they will tell you that the driver said you did not put your can out. Try reporting it online: The AI chat bot is wonky. They will NEVER refund your money, you have to pay whether they pick up your trash or not. Nice racket! Most of my neighbors have switched. Waist management is the worst. They forged a contract for 3 years which they just wrote my name on and said it's legal but can't produce anything with my signature on. Trying to cancel service. Can't ever get anyone on the phone ever then website goes to a sorry this page isn't working. They say can you hold them hang up. Change price as they feel necessary this is why I'm cancelling. My $140 bill is now $550. They say they can change whatever under there fake contract but I can't cancel after being ripped off and scammed. It unbelievable. They never pick up on time. Talk about a garbage company. If they weren't a monopoly they'd be out of business. 15 years of service at multiple addresses and multiple addresses currently in good standing. I have one credit card expire and auto pay stops. They can't get their 20 bucks and skip the garbage for a week. I correct it day of pickup and they can't get a truck out without charging me 39 bucks or wait till next week. Meanwhile they still got their f'ing 20 bucks for pickup that week. I had started the service back in April and my recycle bin has been picked up only a handful of times. I've either had to request a new pick up, which also wasn't a guarantee or wait till next week hoping it would get picked up. They stated my bin wasn't out for pick up but sometimes it's out there for two weeks in a row! I have no issues with the regular trash being picked up but the recycling service is crap. read more

The drivers are great! Their customer service is awful. It has taken me 13 calls, 7 of which were dropped or disconnected to resolve one issue. Please remove the ineffective answering and routing service that we get when we call in to resolve an issue. It is awful, beyond awful and wastes so much time. Horrible customer service, Marissa completely unwilling to work with me is any way. In July of 2024 the garbage truck crushed and took away my can. I made the mistake of thinking they would be aware of this. Never brought new ones. Long story short, I called to cancel service anyway for I was selling my house. I had just made a 370.00 payment. They said they do not issue refunds ever. So a credit was applied according to the agent I spoke to that day. Today I called to resume service and use my 370.00 credit. Marissa said I used those funds towards nothing for it ran to through the billing cycle. Even though I didn't have any service or even trash cans. I'm not one to complain, but I feel they ripped me off and others should know how bad my situation is with this Company. Absolutely unexcectable. read more

This is the WORST Company EVER!! We have more issues with this company than any other companies combined. Today was the normal trash / recycle pick up. They picked up the trash but not the recycle. I went on their website and it said that the container was not out. This is a crock of crap. The containers (both) were out since last night. Plus mine was not the only one they missed. They DID NOT pick up any of the recycle bins on my side of the street. They missed at least 30 homes. What gets me upset is that they FLAT OUT LIED about the container not being out. This is about the company, not the employees. I am sure (and have met) some great people that work there. If there is an alternative vendor, choose them 10/10. Their fees are atrocious and their business model is offensive. I have been on hold for 90 mins right now, after cancelling them (and waiting on hold for 60 mins that time) because they are sending me another bill even though I was assured they would not when I cancelled. They tried to offer me half off to stay which just shows how much they were price gouging. They charge for curbside valet service but never do it. They could have a callback feature like any business that has long hold times but they want you to hang up and give up. They have you renew your contract just by paying your bill, something they sneakily imbed on your invoice. I have been in tong term relationships that were easier and less painful to end than this . Easy access to phone number no, can only call during banking ours when you finally find the number to call and have to wait on hold forever during work hours. Absolutely horrible company. Signed a 3 year contract but they constantly failed to provide service. They even had the audacity to try and charge me over two hundred dollars because my dumpster became overfull because of their negligence. Due to them violating the contract I told them to terminate services, and now they want to try and charge me for terminating a contract they did not honor. Chino Valley, AZ (northern).. WM just took over from Patriot Disposal and while Patriot was not perfect WM makes 'em look like the best in the world. WM sent everyone the nice 'hello, we're new' and so forth. At that time we had two Patriot residential bins and had them paid for until end of October. So getting close, don't want to be billed another period so trying to contact WM support. Hahahha, good luck... the 'base' Chat is a bot, has not idea. The advanced Chat with a human probably, is always "you're number 15 in the queue" and so forth. The whole idea of stopping this service and going to one BIN should take a few moments on a phone line. After a quick perusal I was unable to find one but THERE SHOULD be a contact number on the website. Nope, they obviously want to cut service to the bone. Remember they are not bad as a service but if you need a change or any kind of support you better be prepared to give them a lot of "your" time because they don't want to waste their own 'on the phone.' read more

They phone customer service has been extremely rude the multiple times I have contacted them over the years. I have even had them get angry and hang up on me even though I was calm and not rude to them. Rates go up, but quality of service does not. Our trash dumpster recently dropped from the collection truck to the ground resulting in a wheel falling off. They gave me a window of 2 weeks leaving the dumpster on the curb for repairs. It never happened. Plus, our HOA says dumpster cannot be outside beyond only the collection day. I called WM again. They claimed the dumpster was not there. They have scheduled us again for repairs to the dumpster and given 3 different dates for which it should be left on the curb for replacement or repairs. We'll see...... read more

After a few years with a competitor that initially enticed me with a lowball rate and then proceeded to decrease service and raise their prices, I switched to the more expensive Waste Management. I had problems with Waste Management during the signup process and again, when a scheduled container delivery never arrived. These were minor. I was only with Waste Management two weeks before the company decided to postpone trash pickup due to weather conditions for an entire week. I can certainly understand a reasonable weather delay of a day, perhaps two days. The imperceptive executive decision to suspend trash collection 7 full days however, is not only unacceptable it's incomprehensible. Fortunately, we were able to jam our extra week's worth of garbage bags trash into our trash container and nearly close the lid. Neighbors throughout our subdivision weren't so lucky. Dozens of bags of trash were left outside of containers, making them susceptible to wind, rain, and animal infestation. Insult to injury, Waste Management never offered a refund for services not rendered; customers had to request a credit. If this is the type of service I can expect from Waste Management I had better begin researching an alternative. read more

I've had them for a couple of years and finally had enough. My trash was not picked up on Tuesday and when I called to let them know I was told someone was coming out later that day to pick it up. Next day comes, trash still there. Once again I call and was told they are a few stops away and trash will be picked up. This went on for the rest of the week. Everyone I talked to had the same lie and said they are a few stops away from picking up my trash. Then I was told my trash was not left out at the curb which was another lie. We always have our trash left out the night before. My husband talked to the regional manager who was rude and unprofessional and I could not understand how she became a manager but dealing with all the lies and inconsistent answers I guess she is the right person for this company. Customer service is horrible and I am so disappointed with how much I was lied to. Another thing is the different charges for billing, everyone's answer was different. WM is running Bagster program. You go to a local store buy a 3000 cubic ft bag and you can stuff it with some household items and/or construction materials. Then you go on line and schedule a pickup and here where all went down to dumps! Reservation said that it would be picked up between Monday and Wednesday. By Wednesday I made a phonecall and I was told that it was scheduled for a pick up that day. Three hours later I got an email saying that not only wasn't going to be picked up but there was no any date to reschedule. Called the customer service again. Spoke to Antoinette who dropped news on me that it is really 5 days and they run out of men hours. I am in HOA and I have two bags sitting in the driveway for 4 days. Antoinette refused to give her managers email, she was not able to give me a rescheduled date and she claimed that she worked unsupervised as her manager Jorge Angull left for the day. She also stated that I can cancel all and look to get a dumpster which will be more money than bugster. Here is some food for thought WM: After paying emergency bills from cutting myself on sharp objects (like broken glass and old ceramic tile) while transferring it to a dumpster, it would be way cheaper to go with a dumpster! How rude! Don't they realize that people spend money, time and lots of effort to place the waste in those bags. I have never seen anything like this. How can company with such poor time management, lying to their customers, and with such incompetent helpless customer service be in the business, is beyond me. Welcome to Phoenix Arizona! PSA for anyone who lives outside of city limits and does not have city trash DO NOT use waste management. They canceled our service and everyone I talked to said it was an error on their end. We came home to our trash cans gone one day after work. Called the next day and was told earliest delivery would be for this past Tuesday and to leave our trash out in bags and the driver would get them....soooooo guess what no trash can and our bags are still sitting there. Called that evening told they have till 6 to drop off the can. Oh but wait still no can. Call the next day. Told they are going to expedite delivery to be delivered on Wednesday that it can take 24-48 hours for delivery (pretty sure 6 days is longer then that but I did go to OOB so I could be wrong)....oh wait no can. Called yesterday spoke to a supervisor named Tiffany. Was told that she would email the delivery driver manager and call me back before she left for the day at 4 either way to give me an update....yup you guessed it never heard back from her either! So I called again on my way home. Said delivery was still pending manager never emailed Tifffany back and they are out delivering until 7. And the manager should contact me back in the morning..... but guess what guys.....no calls and you guessed it no trash can! So I called again just now and am told its still pending delivery and Tiffany still has not heard from them. So over a week later from their screw up I still have bags of trash and I am still waiting for a damn trash can. Looks like I'll be delivering my bags to their office front door this weekend if I do not get my trash cans! Waste Management is a horrible company to deal with! They have auto renewing contracts and when we called in asking about disconnecting our service no one told us that we had to send in a letter to stop the auto renew contract from auto renewing. I dont know how you can confuse the number 1 with any other number. I moved in to Maricopa, not knowing how in the stone ages the services are here. I call WM to have my services started. The prior tenant had 2 trash cans and 1 recycle can. I asked to have on trash can take so i can have just 1 trash and 1 recycle. That was 2 weeks ago. They were suppose to get the can last fri. Lo an behold they came today and grabbed BOTH TRASH CANS? I have service here and you afe gonna charge me for trash service with no cans. Then they tell me i wont get a can until NEXT Fri. WTF?? Make the guy who obviously cant read a work order bring back my can! And they still want to charge me for the days with a can. read more

The Phoenix call center off of 19th and bell is one of the worst in the valley. Management has no idea how to manage and the quality of people who work find a way to roll out of bed and come to work. Exceedingly disappointed in Waste Management Corporation. We signed up for new service after a telephone price quote during which the representative assured us that the monthly total, after delivery/set up fees, would be a certain amount. We were looking to save some money on the service so switched from another waste pick up provider to WM. First bill arrived yesterday and it is 48% higher than quoted! Emailed the rep. who had been helping us and so quick to respond when we were setting this up and have received no response. They delivered the dumpster on the wrong day, 3 days earlier than agreed upon so the old dumpster hadn't yet been removed. That means the new dumpster was put in the wrong location. The bill prorated the charges for the delivery date -- 3 days early! Their error to deliver early then charge us for those days? How can a company pull a bait and switch like this with their pricing. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT - they are not to be trusted. read more

If it were possible I would be giving this company a -1 star. I am recently a first time home owner and as anyone knows getting everything set up for your new home from turning on the electricity to setting up the garbage it can be stressful on top of your everyday life. I first called Parks and Sons which quoted me $77 every three months with an $80 drop off fee. So I decided to give Waste Management a call to see what they could offer. Waste Management quoted $80 every three months with the same drop off fee but said they could price match the three month fee of $77 and cut the drop fee in half to $40 and waive the $80 account setting up fee all together. This sounded great and was so far the easiest account set up that I've had to make with my home purchase. Unfortunately I was sorely mistaken. My first bill as of yesterday is so far sitting at $183 which should only be $117 based off the agreement that was made when the account was created. I was told all of this would be in my notes if for any reason anything went wrong. I have made two calls so far this morning and all I have gotten is the run around. They just kept telling me we will have the call pulled to be audited and give you a call right back to have this resolved. Every time I ask if what was said is in my notes as promised my question has been ignored. I am then told we will call you back. This is absolutely ridiculous and should be able to be easily resolved. If this issue is not fixed today and made to be what I was originally quoted I will continue repost this same post and report this company to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Yes, I'm really writing a review about the garbage company! Lol I've lived in Cobblestone Farms for several years - the only issue I have ever had was one billing error. That is until yesterday. My normal garbage pickup day, the truck came & picked up my garbage as usual, but when I returned home from work - no garbage can. I called in & was told the automated arm on the truck can occasionally lose its grip on the can when dumping the trash in the truck. Oops! They not only picked up my trash, they also picked up my can. (I miss the days before these silly wheeled cans when real people came by!) I called in & the rep was friendly, helpful, explained what most likely happened. They are dispatching a replacement container tomorrow. I would have rated 5 stars if their hold time was shorter. The few times I've needed to call in (set-up, bill error, and missing can) the hold time runs around 5 to 15 minutes to reach an agent. At least the agents are helpful when you finally get to one. Overall, a good company to have. Expensive, but good. read more
