For the third time I have contacted them about billing, but this time I requested to cancel my service. The response is shown in the photo below.... My bill is still not correct and I am currently on hold trying to cancel my account. it's been 16 minutes so far. Terrible customer service. Every option to discuss an issue is only resulted in AI or automated sotuation. You cant talk to a human being anymore. They only respond in email.Since they've taken over 3 trash bins have been crushed at our property alone. Scheduled a pickup of 1 of 2 of our bins they couldn't open a gate or call to have it opened for removal. Then they request by EMAIL it be unsecured by said date and 4 days past that it's not picked up yet. I really don't recommend this company as they have shifted to less service oriented. read more

Sadly, expensive and difficult to deal with. Please read the entire contract carefully. You'll be charged an additional $200+ if your trash exceeds the 3-inch limit. Trying to cancel the service is extremely difficult, you have to mail a letter and the sales team will repeatedly try to persuade you not to cancel. When our service contract ended, we were also charged an additional $325 just for them to pick up the trash can. Be sure to understand all fees and cancellation terms before signing. read more

Absolutely ZERO rating! They missed our pickup last week, and did not contact us as to why. We paid for that pickup and need to be reimbursed for lack of service. Cannot find a phone number, which is horrible customer service. Did a robot chat on website, said we need to cancel all service. Then it gave a number to call to cancel and was on hold for 20 minutes, and then they disconnected me. We will not accept this avoidance tactic, and we will not pay any further bills. We will also not pay $75 fee for them to come pick up the dumpster - their own equipment- their disgusting pathetic piece of junk! By all the similar comments here, it seems like a good class action lawsuit. What kind of business owner does this? Raking in profits at everyone's grief and expense! If I could place -5 stars I would. I signed up for auto pay years ago and they've been pulling the money out every three months suddenly they didn't pull it out. It's not my fault. It's not their fault is no one's fault but now they're not picking up my trash and so I quickly paid the same day. They didn't pick up my trash because I didn't know I had to pay an extra late fee and an extra two dollars to pay it online and they're not gonna pick up my trash until next week. Just another ridiculous customer service from waste management. If you have a choice run from this place! I don't have a choice because I live in an HOA. read more

These people refuse to answer their phones. Twice I called for service, and the wait was 30 min, and then 20 min, and no phone service. They skipped a trash pickup for our whole local community and never gave us a refund for their lack of service. Don't use them. They are terrible. read more

I have never actually seen a 1.1 rating on Yelp before. I signed up with Waste Management in Prescott Valley over a week ago. Service was to begin today, 6/3/25. I thought they may offer the courtesy of dropping off cans before the service starts as a convenience but they did not. Today though, the service was to begin and no cans were delivered. This is not the way to get started so I would like to cancel my service before it begins. I looked at Yelp to find other waste management companies. I do not have the time or patience to call so I may just call the credit card company and inform then not to accept charges from WM. I am not going to play this game that apparently everyone else on Yelp has with WM. Very sad a company treats their clients like this. As an edit: I sent an email to WMCares as requested. I have not heard anything back. After a couple hours I was finally able to speak to a human who cancelled and refunded my account. If you live in the PV area, there are other companies available, for less. I'm not sure I am allowed to list the other companies, but a bit of research should find them. They both had a human answer the phone, both have better reviews, and both were significantly less expensive than WM. Please save yourself and do not sign up with WM. read more

This is the second time they didn't pick up my trash. I live on a property with two houses, and we each have our own bin. I have a blue patriot bin I've used since they bought out patriot and my neighbor has a green WM bin. I was never given a replacement green WM bin. Today customer service told me that they only service WM bins and that's why they only took one. Customer service informed that my neighbor hasn't been paying her bill but they still took her trash since it was the green WM one. Customer service told me to keep her bin since she hasn't paid and for them to pick up the blue patriot bin it will need to be empty (but it's still full since they didn't pick up my trash today). I asked for them to bill her for the service and come back and pick up mine since I'm still paying for service. They took the wrong trash and tell me the blue bin needs to be empty for it be taken away. I'm left with another week of not getting my trash taken? I just checked my WM profile and now the reason they didn't take my trash is stated "Excess Weight" which is a complete lie. The video clearly shows them only taking the green bin and not even attempting to lift mine. If it was "excess weight" why did customer service tell me they only took one because my neighbor hasn't paid her bill and not the second bin was overweight? The only solution customer service gave me was to empty my bin into the green one and they'll pick it up next week. WM could care less about you. See If United Disposal services your area instead. read more

On April 4, '25 I called WM to notify them that April 30,'25 would be my last day of service. I was told that my container would be picked up on May 1, '25. My container has been out on the street, in front of my house for 44 days now. I have called WM 4 times and today tried to do the live chat. I typed too slow and was disconnected. What a surprise! WM told me in one of my phone calls that the container was unavailable for pick-up. THE CONTAINER IS OUT ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I'm beyond irritated!!! Do not, do not use WM. Unbelievable service. They can find me when my money is due, but they can't find their container? read more

If I could give a zero star, I would. They give you the runaround if you want to cancel. To save the next person the trauma, please note that you can send an email to csarizona@wm.com. This is nowhere to be found as a contact unless you actually look for an Arizona contact. Send a cancellation request along with your account number and effective date so you have proof. You cannot cancel online, as it always refers to contacting a customer service agent. They put you on hold forever; it takes over 30 minutes for them even to answer the phone following the prompts. Save yourself the suffering and go with someone local that cares about their customers. read more

Service ok, billing is a disaster. Moved from credit card billing to bank debit billing to avoid a charge they were implementing on-monthly payments and set up auto pay but kept getting account noticed of no payment. Took over two weeks to get fixed after chats, phone calls and finally had to drive to their office. Oh, try to-lookup there office address for PV, good luck, nowhere to be found. Before I posted this, I responded to a WM survey request for a rating on my visit and asked for a way to respond to WM management and not rate one person and never received a response. Horrible service all around. Last week I put the can out in our regular pickup day, it didn't get picked up, so I put it out the next day as well. Still no service. I called for a missed pickup, and after getting transferred a bunch of times (I called the local number, but it gets sent to headquarters out of state) , i get told that they'll be there in the next 48 business hours. By my math, that would be after my next pickup anyway. This week I put the can out in the regular day, just to get an email around noon that they wouldn't be picking up today because of the 2 inches of snow that we got. So I put the can our the next day (today). Still no pickup at 6pm. I miss patriot disposal, it's time to find another company, bigger is usually not better. Yelp should have ZERO stars to accurately reflect these reviews. Waste management took over Patriot in Prescott this summer. They sent a letter to sign up with them. I DID NOT respond because I planned to sign with another service. I placed an 8x10 notice on my (2) containers to pick them up and signed up with United in Chino Valley. The containers sat in front of my house for over (2) months. In the mean time WM is continuing to send me bills - now going to collection they say. BTW - I was unable to find a phone number that responded with a real person. All automated with no way to speak to someone. Just the way WM wants it. I was finally able to reach someone that repairs containers and consented to pick up my containers. These guys are the worst I've run into. A company of this size and no way to speak to a live person. Well, no obvious way. Probably buried in their BS web site to get them legally off the hook. You can see by the reviews - nothing higher than one star. I recommend canceling WM service and finding someone that wants to provide the customer a satisfactory experience. read more

I did not receive a refund, Waste Management stole money for services that were never used. Waste Management is no better than a common thief. One star, what a surprise!!! We at the Mountain Club had Patriot as our trash service. They were bought out by Waste Management and now we are stuck with them. The customer service department is very nice on the phone and tells you what you wanna hear, but they are all in all pretty useless. I've been stuck using Waste Management's trash services for a while now, and honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. The service has been consistently unreliable, with frequent missed pickups and a lack of communication about changes to the schedule. When I try to reach customer service, it often feels like I'm being passed around with no resolution in sight. Additionally, the pricing structure seems steep, especially considering the level of service provided. It's frustrating to pay a premium only to have to deal with overflowing trash bins because the service didn't show up as scheduled. Overall, I'd say Waste Management needs to step up their game. Regular, reliable service and better customer support should be the bare minimum, but unfortunately, that's not what I've experienced. Waste Management has not picked up our trash in for 2 Tuesdays. We live in an HOA and are only to have our can out on day of pickup. We keep it in the garage the rest of the time. Waste Management kept saying on there site they would pick it up the next day and it NEVER happened. So our garbage has been out in 100 degree temps for 7 plus days. You can imagine how it is starting to smell. We have contacted them several times and they truly DGAS. They are Scum. We are cancelling our service this morning. Zero stars!!! When they took over Patriot services, we got an email that we would get a postcard with all of the info. Weeks later a postcard, but no info on it. We got a bill that says "by paying this you are signing a contract with us". Nope. Then in small print, a list of fees like $75 to remove your cans if you cancel. Plus TAXES and FEES. Then the small print on the website, $5 charge for an overweight can, but no actual weight is listed. And if course "plus taxes and fees". After reading all that I called Taylor Waste and signed up, they are great, excellent communication and they delivered their new cans by 7 am of the day scheduled. Well WM took several hoops to find a way to communicate with an actual person, he stated they would pick up the Patriot cans in 2 weeks (August 2nd). And I would get a revised bill for the one month service. Guess what, cans are still in the driveway, when I contacted customer service (took awhile), they said " oh it was Scheduled for the 2nd, but we have 1-5 BUSINESS DAYS to pick it up. This was not what the first rep said. Going online I saw that some people have been waiting 6 weeks for pickup. I have a long driveway with a narrow entrance. So now I have 2 cans blocking the way, and will have 4 cans on trash day. The BBB and whatever regulatory system covers them need to be informed. This is horrible. Go with a local family owned business and don't use these corporate pigs that spend more money on golf tournament sponsorship then customer service. read more

WM is a ~$21B company and doing quite well so an individual's business is insignificant, I get that. Despite attempts that spanned several days and being reassured that they'd pick up our trash, they have not. They cited that my trash barrel wasn't out on the day of the pickup which is a lie as I actually put it out the day before (no, the pickup days didn't change). Their voice recognition software is atrocious and their outsourced customer service offered no solutions. When waste management took over patriot it became a disaster. It is an ongoing problem with them skipping on picking up our trash. It snowed last Friday and the Roads were completely clear and they didn't pick up our trash. I had to put a call into corporate and finally something was done. Missed my trash, submitted a missed pickup and they canceled the missed pickup and sent me a video of them only picking up my neighbor's trash. I tried to explain that there are two houses on the property and we both have a trash bin and pay for our own service. I have a blue patriot disposal bin (WM bought out last year) and my neighbor has a green WM bin. They only took the WM bin??? When I was able to speak with customer service I was told having a patriot disposal bin wouldn't be an issue. Customer service was rude on the phone not helping at all and the online chat person ended the chat before any resolution. Submitted a second missed pickup and the canceled that one as well and sent me the same video of my neighbor's bin being emptied. You can see in the pictures my bin was sitting a few feet to the left of my neighbor's bin... it has been sitting out on the street all week. They bought Patriot which had been my garbage pick up service. Sent me the bill. I wanted to set up "Auto-Pay". After 20 minutes of trying to get it Auto-Pay set up I clicked on Support which told me to call on phone. My call was answered by Mike, very unfriendly, and abruptly told me to click on "Register" I asked his name, he hesitantly said mike, I doubt that is his name. SO back to the web site and did not find "Register" to click started clicking everything that had to do with Bill Pay and stumbled on to it. On July 30th, we canceled our service due to a significant service increase and lack of customer service. It's August 23rd, and we're still waiting for the two 96-gal receptacles to be picked up. We were told to leave them out for pick-up on 8/6, then 8/13, then 8/15... no shows. I called again on 8/15 to be told they would pick up the receptacles on 8/20, which was pushed back to 8/23. Today, I called again since no one showed up, and the response was laughable; "we need 15 days from August 15th; your receptacles will be picked up by August 30th. I used WM for years and have never received such poor service. It's such a shame! read more

Horrible company. I have been trying to get my trash bin removed for close to 3 weeks. Waste Management has scheduled 3 different times to retrieve it and have yet to do so. Company is extremely hard to contact. Phone wait times are usually 20-30 minutes when I call. Website requests go unanswered. WASTE is an appropriate name for this company. Finally got to speak to someone from Waste Management today 8/2/24 and was told that I was on the schedule to have my trash bin picked up today. it is now after business hours and my bin is still outside on the curb. Costumer service/billing is a joke. I ordered a 30 yard dumpster for $956.09 and I paid in full. Three weeks after the service was finalized, I went online to order another roll off dumpster and could not proceed until I paid a balance of $3.09 I the paid the $3.09 online and was charged an additional $9.99 for the transaction for a total of $13.08 Now I go to order a dumpster and I now have an outstanding bill of $6.08 I call customer service, they tell me the original $3.09 was a account credit, not a bill, which it did not state on the bill and I could not proceed online until it was paid. I asked for a refund and was told they cant refund the $9.99 transaction fee and can give me a $6.08 credit for future service. When I asked how I ended up with a $3.09 credit to begin with, I got the sound of crickets chirping....I will take my business elsewhere. read more
