I wish I would have read a review specifically from a few years ago! Didn't tell us we were not in network anymore and charged over $300 for a consultation. September 2025: when I called they did inform me that they were not in network; however I let it be known I had worn a partial tooth for over 3 decades and I had lost it. I specifically asked for a consultation on how much that would cost with my insurance being out of network. BEFORE making appt i reiterated i wanted a consultation only and asked if there would be any fee to me being out of network. 'No, your consultation is covered.' CONSULTATIONS ARE NOT FREE apparently , they billed my insurance subsequently for a $91.00 visit out of network. They got paid $46.00 and I received a prompt text that I needed to pay an additional $45.00! I don't really care they got paid the $46.00 but to harass me for $45.00 for 6 minutes of being with the 'Doctor' to tell me it would be $1000 out of pocked for tooth #7 flipper is outrageous. NO X-RAYS: nothing but a few minutes of 'consultation'. SO I GUESS SHE WANTS TO MAKE $910/hr if you extrapolate that math????? before hardware??????? I am so happy that I chose to go to Dr. Qureshi! I had to have a crown replaced and she took exceptional care of me. Dr. Qureshi is very gentle, skilled and knowledgeable. My new tooth feels even better than my old one. Also big shout out to the staff, the treatment coordinator gave me an accurate and fair quote before the treatment over the phone (many I called would not do this) and was very pleasant. I also really appreciated Dasia the dental assistant, she has a lot of experience and her calming and pleasant demeanor definitely helped ease my nerves (I am a very nervous patient lol). We loved Watauga Family Dentistry and had been going for 10 plus years. However, they have changed dentists and business practice. We have had the same insurance for 10 plus years. In January when we booked our appointments for teeth cleaning and dental work for all of the family members and were told there was a change I asked if there was any changes that would affect us. We were assured, no there were no changes, just the dentist and a few staff. Front staff is amazing by the way. Paid everything they asked for at the time of a service. They added in extra upcharges to my kids without telling them there is an extra cost, they are young adults and didn't know better to ask if there were extra fees, but that isn't the issue. 25.00 is not a bank break. Since our last visit in 2023, and while they said NO changes were made, they have OPTED OUT of network of all insurances. Which means, after the allowed amount of the insurance they can bill you the difference as they are out of network. I have spent almost 3k out of pocket and they state that I still owe 1500. It was turned over to collections and the agency response was that I am responsible for knowing my insurance. I do know my insurance and they always took my insurance. Why would I check after 10 years if they still accepted my insurance when they assured me nothing changed? It hasn't been 30 days yet and I have disputed. The collection agency assures me that they have the signed agreements and it's my fault. They didn't send me them, just told me they have them. And now have reported to all three credit agencies and advised I can dispute with them. So in the past WFD was amazing and cared. Currently, it's about the money. So beware. Doesn't matter that you have insurance. You will pay out of your teeth. And the amount of work now that they find for each person... wow.. read more

Came in today with excruciating tooth pain, that ended up being my wisdom tooth becoming infected. Within 2 hours, they had my tooth extracted, meds called in, and a care plan created for me all as a first time client upon a walk-in. I am astounded by that alone. Everybody was so friendly and compassionate, the music was fantastic, and the actual service was impressive. I didn't feel any of the numbing injections, and really felt listened to talking with the staff. I have slight anxiety dealing with dentists, but they helped so much with that today. Thank you for everything this morning, y'all! Update: Anxiety got the best of me, and they have let me come in twice now just for checkups and some peace of mind. I love this office all the staff is so friendly very informative just got my wisdom teeth out all 4 and i cannot express enough how great the team was that took my wisdom teeth out. They were so gentle with my procedure i never felt any sort of discomfort or pain if you are looking for a new dentist like i was when i was experiencing tooth pain they are the place to be. They made payment very easy so i understood what i needed to cover and made this whole process which can be pretty scary and lengthy to some easy and quick. I got my appointment booked as well very fast which is a huge plus compared to other places that either have to refer you out or just are booked out for months for any kind of procedure like that. Horrible experience! First off, the front desk, lady that did x rays and hygienist were nice. No issues with them. Then the Dr came in and said I needed a deep cleaning cause of gum disease and how sever it was. Which I know wasn't true from my last 6 months dental appointment with another Dr. So I stopped all treatment. She then told us that my daughters fake tooth was real and needed a crown. She also stated that all the crowns my daughter received last year were needing to be replaced. We stopped all treatment for her also. Went to another dentist who stayed with was incorrect info. Wfd is now wanting $75 each for our medical records and are saying we have a $150 and $200 balance. We did not authorize anything except out normal 6 months - annual exam which is covered 100%.
