Made a reservation for an 80 min couple massage with 2 hot stones and complimentary beverage (mini water bottles) on groupon. Arrived here and there is a $10 tax fee upfront in cash. FYI: The workers here barely speak English and the massage beds are separated with curtains. We were taken to our section where they had two massage beds. They didn't ask us any questions or how hard/soft we wanted. They also didn't tell us who the masseuses were until we laid down on our front side. I had a male masseuse and my bf had a female masseuse. They focus a lot on the buttocks and lower hips/tail which is fine because I feel like masseuses in general don't touch the buttocks. Tbh I enjoyed the massages under the blanket, but the oil massage was a bit too long because I would get cold as I laid there half naked from the top to my buttocks. Feel like they should cover up some body parts if they are not massaging that area. Lastly, the hot stones wrre a bit too hot for me. However, I very much enjoyed how they massaged our head to toes. Came here with a Groupon for an 80 minute couple's massage. The prices inside appeared to be a lot more fair and in line with what we actually paid ($188) versus the reported value ($438). My husband really enjoyed his massage. I heard the masseuse check in with him, and he said she did a great job. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience. I did not realize the spa had given me a male masseuse until I was told to roll over during the service. I feel that it is completely unacceptable for a spa not to check in with a female client to make sure they're comfortable with an unknown male seeing them in a vulnerable position, let alone providing their service. I have never experienced this before at any massage parlor, ever. I do not understand why the spa did not pair my husband with the male masseuse and I with the female. I do not understand why we were never asked our preferences at any point during booking or prior to the service. Gender aside, my massage was simply not good. There was zero communication at any point. I felt like I was being aggressively rubbed with oil and then aggressively toweled off, but my muscles were not worked. The masseuse intentionally put his fingers in my ears while rubbing my head over a towel at the start of the service. It was one of the most bizarre and unpleasant sensations I've had in recent memory. Not something I'd expect at a spa at all. I have found my new massage place. I got a Groupon deal on here and decided to use it on my birthday. I ended up getting here later than planned but they were nice enough to get me online so I could redeem my deal and texted me so I could let them know where I was on ETA. I had acupressure and definitely felt like a new woman afterwards. This is something I've been missing in life and since I work in a stressful occupation, this is probably something I need to have as long as it's in the budget. There was a bit of a language barrier but we were able to communicate and overall this was a great experience for me and definitely in keeping with the birthday celebration. I will never step foot in this establishment again. While my massage was done correctly, the disrespect to my friend and our overall experience was dreadful and racist. My experience was compromised due to the fact that a white woman lost her purse. This resulted in the silence being broken, my friend accused of "sitting on her bag", having several employees loud running around the space, and on two occasions being physically crawled over. It's disappointing that there was no consideration for us taken but everyone prioritized this one customer over us. I was shown that this is a space where yes you can come and we will take your money, as a black person, but we do not care to make you comfortable and we will sow it with our actions. When your clients are made to feel uncomfortable there should be some sort of compensation no one suggested anything and at no time was an actual apology issued. WARNING: NOT SAFE FOR BLACK PEOPLE. My friend and I went to Water Cube tonight for 60 min foot reflexology. Roughly 20 mins in, our session was rudely interrupted by irate and tragically irrational white people who left a coat and purse at the establishment earlier. I happened to be seated where the older white woman who left her items was positioned. Neither the irate white people nor the Asain workers in the establishment ever paused to include me in the process. My possessions were touched w/o my consent. I was crawled over w/o my consent. And the establishment ALLOWED IT. At my protest, the establishment was MORE concerned with the likelihood that I'd respond violently then protecting my indemnity as a patron. Going so far as to touch me in attempt to "calm me down" and say "No worries ma'am. We have everything on video." The lost purse was in fact in between the massage chairs but I still accused of sitting on the item and intentionally prohibiting its finding. Despite the younger white woman in the party crawling over me to look behind and around my chair. Despite the Asian workers doing the same. The purse wasn't located until they called the woman's phone and it's position between the chairs ascertained. I was gulity by proximity NOT fact, but that didn't matter to the white people and despite the establishment knowing of my innocence in the matter my position as their patron was not protected. They allowed irrate white people to touch me, touch my possessions and falsely accuse me. They didn't offer apology or recompense (in the form of a discount or additional time due to the interruption). Despite this, yes, I paid and tipped. I will never refer or visit this place again. Black people be warned. You will not be protected here. And if white people are involved, the establishment will let them behave at will while worrying more about your likelihood of becoming violent than protecting you from abuse. BE. WARNED. read more
