Totally inexperienced and unfortunately, it felt like one of my friend's kids was sloppily petting my back, TERRIBLE. So I politely asked her to get the owner and asked if I could stop at 30 minutes. She offered to switch masseuses mid-massage and I was hesitant but agreed. The second masseuse Angela was EXCELLENT! Dare I say probably top 5 best massages I've had period. As I walked out I could even breathe better... she knew exactly where I had tension and made sure to give extra deep pressure on those spots while also applying hot stones to extra tender areas. I've already booked another 60 minute with her for Wednesday. Went from the worst massage ever to the best massage all in one trip, ha! read more

Midway through my "customized "massage, I picked my head up and the curtain was mid way open for anyone in the hall to see. The Masseuse knew it was open because I heard her having a conversation with another employee who was standing there before. It was very intrusive and there was no privacy whatsoever. In addition, I was never asked beforehand what was bothering me or what pressure I wanted. She just started it just like that. The lady barely got kinks out. She really listened to me- I came in for a while body massage and told her to concentrate on shoulders and lower back. She did exactly that and it was exactly what my body needed! She never dug her elbow into my back, by her pressure was still very deep. I would definitely come back and request amy again. The place itself is on the second floor of an apt building. This place is so great! I was in a car accident almost two years ago - an old lady in a Subaru crossed directly in front of me making a left turn (when I was going straight) and slammed right into my car (very rude) which left me with a spine injury. My spine thankfully healed without needing surgery but I have nerve damage, thoracic outlet syndrome and am in so much back, neck, & arm pain every single day. I'm like an 80 year old woman in a 25 year old's body. One of the things I use as pain treatment is getting weekly massages. I first went to Eden about a month ago after really badly pulling a muscle in my back and they took care of it. I usually go every week now. I have been to massage places all over the city and no one treats you like this! They also have a Pulsd deal and a Groupon deal (where I learned about them) which saves you around $30 on an hour long massage. They really seem to care about you & are really sweet ladies! I found NY Eden Spa through Groupon, and I'm very glad I did! The place is no frills, but everyone is very nice and, most importantly, the massages are great. I had LiLi, who gave me a wonderful 90 minute massage-- 60 minutes for full body and 30 minutes for feet. I will say.... If you're modest, tell them ahead of time where you don't want to be massaged. When they say "full body," they truly mean it-- buttocks, inner thighs, chest, belly. I've had similar massages in other countries, so I wasn't too surprised, but I could see this being unsettling or strange if you're not accustomed to it. Overall-- a great experience! read more

This might have been one of the best massage I've had in NYC! While they were very busy on the day /time I arrived, they were all extremely attentive in letting me know we'd be starting soon. I requested a female masseuse and the lovely front desk woman (can't remember her name) did my massage. I have chronic lower back pain on and off and this massage really good the trick at relieving my pain and tension! Plus it was so relaxing and not painful that I fell asleep. I've gotten many massages, including medical massage, and this one is by far the best. Highly recommend if you're looking for a no frills, great deep massage! My boyfriend and I went here with a pulsed voucher. The masseuses kept up a steady conversation with each other throughout the massage, which was odd enough. The strangest part, however, was that the man uncovered both my legs at once when working on my lower body. Not only was I cold, but I also felt very exposed. To top it off, they didn't have us flip or even include our feet in the sixty minute massage--rather, at the end, they offered a foot rub for an additional charge. Stay away from this place. We should've turned around the second we walked in and saw a woman eating ramen in the "waiting area". The rooms were freezing and had no doors or walls (just curtains), the oil had no scent to it, they wipe you down with rough paper towels, and they didn't inform my friend that she'd be with a male masseuse- she only found out halfway through the massage. My coworker and I stumbled upon this place on a Thursday afternoon and had a wonderful experience! We didn't have to wait and got to have our massages next to each other (separated by a curtain). The pressure was perfect and my masseuse hit all the right spots. You can tell that Amy and Anna have had a lot of experience. DO NOT COME HERE. It's a sketchy residential apartment that they converted into a "spa". They made zero attempt to even decorate it look like a spa, it's a bed in a room, that's it. Massage was okay, she didn't speak any English so it was difficult to communicate my problem areas. They even wiped me down with a rough paper towel and a cold wet cloth, yikes. Then when i went to pay, they tried to charge me more than what they told me on the phone. I was being watched by the masseuse as I was given back change, and she tried to reach for the amount of tip she wanted out of my hand! I had already planned on giving her 20% and she literally REFUSED it because it was less than what she expected. Then the front desk lady argued with me saying "it's a tough job, you need to tip more". I told them I was tipping the standard 20% that I always tip anywhere else and they continued to argue that it wasn't enough. I still tipped the girl despite their unprofessional behavior, even as they yelled at me as I tried to exit the place. DO NOT give them your business. read more

I followed her to this relatively new spa from where she used to work downtown (which was much more convenient to my work) because she is the best at getting to the sore spots and knots on my shoulders, back and legs and on making them feel so much better. a new spa has open on 49th st off 2nd ave and even though i prefer my place in astoria i need a good massage asap and my back, feet , shoulders,, and the rest of my cant wait. its location is on the 2nd floor of a two story building and may not look glamorous but as soon as you enter it looks fairly clean and modern. from massages, facials, foot rubs, back rubs which cost about a buck per minute from 35 dollars for 30 minutes to 110 dollars for 120 minutes and you get 10 bucks off for any service over an hour but personally 60 minutes is enough for foot rub and back rub combo. they have private rooms so you don't have to hear someone moan in delight or pain . the gal who tortured me (only kidding but she did have strong hands) was a real pro as she worked on my back and feet till the pain was gone . its a bit more pricey then my usual spot but if i cant make my number one spot then eden spa is a good enough number 2 spot. 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more
