The customer service is stellar and their cakes and snacks are so tasty and well flavored. My problem is the sign advertises they are originally from Hokkaido which brought memories back of Hakodate and all the other cities I visited in Japan as well as all the utterly amazing desserts. I couldn't eat desserts for months after returning because it didn't compare to the delicious food I ate there. I anticipated amazing desserts. Instead I was very surprised with how sweet everything tasted. I know it says they're straight from Japan but it makes me wonder if it was created sweeter than what they would create for their Japanese customers. For how expensive it was I found only an upset stomach and questioning my financial choices. One of the workers there was super helpful and enthusiastic. She greeted every customer, offered samples, explained menus - she was a bright sun of energy. Another met a solid middle ground giving recommendations and answering questions genuinely. The third did not want to be there and heavily brooded. I'm not sure if he thought he was being quiet or if he just didn't care as he openly talked to himself about going home soon trying to urge time to move just a little faster. It was ok, not great.

There was a small entrance fee for dogs, and they checked that our dog had up to date vaccinations. When we were there were several dogs there including Coby and the owner of the establishment. All the dogs and owners were friendly. There is a sectioned off cafe where you can order from the dog area via app or could cross over and order. They had different coffee and tea drinks, we didn't try their pastries. We did however order the homemade pet treats that our dog liked. The staff were also friendly and helpful, showing first timers how the cafe worked. The dog area is a pretty decent sized space and the tables have some space. We were in town for a visit but next time we're in Seattle we intend to come back.

The ingredients may seem simple, but the execution is top notch. The bun is the star. They bake it fresh. Soft and tasty. And the egg is fluffy and filling by itself. The spam and furikake rounds it out perfectly. The piggy buns are a delight. Tried all 3 and I prefer the custard and taro. The molten custard is good too, but it can be messy. The half-star drop is due to service. It's not bad, but it's just not the warmest. They are busy, so I do recommend researching first before you order. That will eliminate any awkwardness. But the food absolutely makes up for this. And the ambiance is great. It's clean and comfortable to wait. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but that's the case everywhere in Downtown Bellevue. I didn't see a garage that you can park and get validation.

There isn't any dedicated parking for the cafe, but we were able to find street parking around the block. Once you enter inside the building and cafe, it is surprisingly spacious. There isn't that much seating available though. On a nice day, there is outdoor seating available. I ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee and a Mint Mojito Iced Coffee. These were drinks very basic. Nothing extravagant about them, especially the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The Mint Mojito Iced Coffee was a tad bit better and you could taste the mint in it. If I were to return, I definitely would try other drinks or even their food items here. The customer service here was okay. Not very interactive. There wasn't any issues, but it was a bit awkward for whatever reason.

I've seen a few yelp reviews say this place is a little ummmm pretentious or overhyped, well yes they don't do customizations and they really don't want you on your phones when you order but honestly, their drinks are just worth it I always order their Wiener Schokolade in the smallest size and that's only because I do like the strong taste of the coffee when its smaller and don't want to over indulge (it does get sweeter when you order the larger sizes, and remember what I said about no customization) We also had a croissant, it was fine as an accompaniment but nothing amazing.

We came by after happy hour at Anthony's and listened to a live set of great music. The place was packed, but everyone is friendly and was willing to share their table with us. We had a great time and I strongly recommend coming by the Quarterdeck to chill and listen to live music. Can't believe it took me 20 years of living in Seattle to find this place. So, don't repeat my mistake.

Quarterdeck is what I like to call a "come for the vibes, stay for the drinks, eat... somewhere…read moreelse" kind of place. I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone
