We chose this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and booked the romance package, which included a dozen roses, bottle of champagne and chocolates. Our room had a small balcony with two chairs and a table - plenty of room to enjoy the view of the bay. I wasn't sure when we booked the view king if we would spend time on the deck but we used it to enjoy coffee, to sip champagne and to watch dolphins and seals frolic in the water below. It was definitely worth booking and we would do it again. Nancy and Lupita at the front desk were so helpful and kind from the moment we arrived to the time we said goodbye. Nancy made the best recommendations - and we took her up on her suggestion to try out Servino Ristorante, which was some of the best Italian food we have ever had. Nancy bent over backward to help us with whatever we needed. She's so kind and very driven to help. What a gem! The evenings of wine on the deck by the fire pits and the breakfast delivered to our door each morning were such lovely aspects of this hotel. We also loved how close it was to the ferry and took advantage of the chance to visit nearby Angel Island. This was such a special experience. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our time at Waters Edge Hotel! The location was fantastic. Walking distance to just about everywhere in Tiburon. Parking was off-site, but in close proximity to the hotel. Once we arrived it wasn't like we needed the car anyway. Rooms were clean, comfy and pet friendly. The staff were fantastic and were never late with the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (big smiles on that one for sure)! The included breakfast was an awesome touch as well. And did I mention the view from the back deck.....you need to experience it for yourself!

I celebrated my birthday weekend with my family and couldn't have picked a better hotel than Waters Edge - we got the double queen room on the first floor and it was so spacious and homey, with easy access to the outside. The hotel itself is right on the water and their deck on the second floor is every bit as heavenly as we had read - a perfect setting for wine and cheese hour, which is a must-do. It was so relaxing, watching the boats come in - and there's lots of comfortable seating. When we were up there, there was only a couple of other people so it wasn't crowded and we felt like we had our own little area to ourselves. Warm cookies after 8 pm were so sweet and special! Breakfast was super easy - we ordered through their form and hung it outside the door. The food arrived right on time on a big tray - everything was delicious. Coffee was perfect (I think it was Peets) and the lox and cream cheese for the bagels were a nice tough. A toaster was in our room so we could toast our own bagels just the way we wanted it. The staff were so kind and helpful - and the hotel was super clean. Overall, we felt well taken care of. It's not an impersonal hotel, but a really comfortable place to spend a long weekend. 5 stars for sure!

The Waters Edge Hotel is a lovely hotel on Main Street. It's beautiful and conveniently located, with serene vistas. Pros: -The room/bed was comfortable. We opened our windows each morning to a beautiful ocean view, which made the trip. -The breakfast was good. They had gluten free options and it arrived on time. -They offered wine and cheese in the lobby. We took our snacks to our room to enjoy. Cons: -There's no designated parking so it was a tad difficult dealing with luggage. There is a drop off space across the street. Parking is located down the street at the PlayHouse.

    Peaceful morning view...

This is such a beautiful location with a wonderful view and a great cafe next door... I can say that the staff goes way above and beyond to provide excellent comfort and kindness... Truly you will receive the best stay ...

What a fantastic experience we had for my moms 70th bday! We got upgraded to the room closest to the water our view was better than expected! All the staff we so friendly and accommodating and the wine and cheese reception was a huge bonus! We will for sure be back.

This is a three-star hotel with a five-star deck overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The pros: The deck at the back of the hotel has a gorgeous view of the Bay, San Francisco, and Angel Island. You can happily spend the evening out there watching the sun set, or reading outside all afternoon. There is a generous happy hour from 5pm to 7pm with decent wine and tasty cheese and crackers. Breakfast is delivered to your room, and you have many options. I had smoked salmon, oatmeal, a bagel, and coffee. The bed is quite comfortable. Room 213 was very quiet. The decor is Coastal Grandma. The cons: This place is very overpriced. The room itself is dated, with old carpet. The heating and cooling unit did not work, so I was either hot or cold the whole time. The toilet wobbled every time I sat on it. There were two flies in my room when I woke up, even though my windows were closed the whole time. I originally booked this hotel early in the summer but needed to postpone it. But I did not find out until I checked in that I was being charged another $90 a night. I would have appreciated being told that in advance. If you enjoy hanging out on a deck with a beautiful view, then you'll love this hotel. But if you're looking for a luxurious room, this hotel does not deliver.

This is our second time staying at this boutique hotel and once again they exceed our expectations. The minute you walk in the door you are welcomed. They have a complimentary breakfast delivered to your door in the morning and a wine and cheese event every night for you to enjoy as you relax on their large patio looking at Angel's Island and the skyline of San Francisco. They always have hot coffee and water offered all day and night and even chocolates and brownies are available in the lobby. This is in our "must stays" when we are in The Bay Area

Exceptionally clean, friendly staff…read more I stayed for two nights while visiting family in Tiburon and learned not to judge a hotel by first impressions. The outside of the hotel raised my eyebrows, but once I got into the room, I was shocked at how clean it was. Not a single stain, hair, or grubby fingerprint was in sight. This is literally how I want every room in every hotel to be. The staff were friendly at check-in. The hotel offers breakfast, coffee, and a small fridge with beverages (beer) and frozen meals. Note: the local town seems to shut down at 9:00 p.m. every night, which is good for quietness but bad if you want a late-night bite. Cons: the building didn't seem well secured. It felt like anyone from the streets could access the outdoor stairs to guests' rooms. Definitely double-bolt your door and don't open it to strangers here. That being said the town itself seems very safe and well policed. The shower lacked water pressure, and the pillow / bed wasn't the most comfortable, tbh. I'd recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Tiburon for a couple of nights (cleanliness is my most heavily weighted hotel criterion, personally). It's not luxury, but it's clean and much more affordable than other spots in the immediate area. I will say though, for maybe a net 50-100 more per night, I stayed at the St. Regis SF (Forbes 5-star), so if you have the ability to stay in the city, you may get more bang for the buck.

We come to Sausalito at least once a year and always stay at the Inn Above Tide. It's located on the waterfront and each room has the perfect view of the ocean, looking out towards the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Bridge. All the rooms have their own private deck where you can relax with a glass of wine or champagne and take in the beautiful views of the city of San Francisco. All the shops and restaurants on Bridgeway St. are within walking distance of the Inn. It is also right next to the Ferry where you can purchase tickets for a ride into San Francisco. When you arrive, you are greeted at the gate of their private parking lot, where your car is safely stored during your stay. Check-in is always easy and all the staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. They offer a Continental breakfast that is served buffet-style in their Drawing Room or you can have your breakfast delivered to your room for a $5 fee. Every evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. they have wine, cheeses, crackers, and fresh fruit for all guests in their Drawing Room. You can also arrange to have this delivered to your room as well. When we arrived to our suite, they had a lovely anniversary surprise waiting for us inside. They had a silver tray on our table, with a white rose, a bottle of champagne, a box of Napa Valley chocolates, and a lovely card to welcome us. When we booked our stay, for this trip, we chose the City Lights Suite. The inside of the suite is beautiful, luxurious, immaculate, and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. I have an allergy to feathers. They made sure our pillows and bedding did not contain any down feathers. They had fresh, gorgeous orchids in the main part of the suite as well as the en suite bathroom. If you want to watch a movie, they have a huge catalog of DVDs, you can pick from, to watch in your room. They really go above and beyond to make your stay an unforgettable experience. That's why we always come back. I want to especially thank all the staff for making us feel welcome and making our stay extra special.

I asked the agent if there was another room above mine and was told no. I was also told the room was very quiet. These were both lies. The room was promoted and booked as a cottage, and that implies several things, starting with an understanding that it's a small free-standing building with a modicum of privacy. That was not the case. Our "cottage" was in-fact a ground-floor unit in a fourplex, with people upstairs and artificial turf in front. We shared patio space with our neighbor. He was cleaning his feet as we arrived and immediately asked if he could borrow our outdoor furniture as he was planning to entertain family, which he later did. But the biggest problem--other than the lies at the time of the booking--was upstairs. There was a toddler who spent hours doing wind sprints up and down the uncarpeted floor, and soundproofing was minimal. So, between the garden party next door and Junior Jetrod overhead, we did not have a restful late afternoon and early evening. After 9 pm or so, things quieted down enough to eventually fall asleep. Hotel staff did its best to make things better, and I was permitted to cancel a second night without penalty. But we never should have been there in the first place. Had the reservations agent told the truth, I would have looked elsewhere.

Before you make a reservation you need to ask yourself "am I looking for a place to sleep and shower right by the beautiful bay or am I looking for a luxurious hotel experience?" if it's the latter then this hotel is definitely not for you. I originally booked this hotel for two nights but ended up departing after one night due to the noise level of other guests. I don't think they were particularly loud however due to how the rooms are designed (they are designed more like a hostel, the rooms are literally so close to one another because they tried to fit in as many rooms as they possibly could in such an enclosed space) It was impossible to get a good night's rest. As someone who is very sleep sensitive it's imperative that I get my good hours of sleep in to properly function throughout the day. Robin who works in the front however is very warm and welcoming and will take the time to properly explain how to best utilize your room and the location of the hotel. She will also let you know the best place to park so that you do not end up getting a ticket, the hotel gets a pass from the city to park there for a fee, the fee depends on how busy It is. If I could write a review just based on my interactions with Robin - I would give this place 5 stars but the hotel itself and the room just did not live up to an ideal stay.

It's located in the boutique style hotel which has been there for ages. It's small, yet nicely appointed. The staff were great, rooms were quiet. I enjoyed the outdoor lounge area. The rest of the place isn't much to see. There was one loud group of guys making noise/laughing loudly for a while down the steps from the lounges. Not sure if they were employees of the hotel or guests but it stopped after 10 minutes or so. With tight quarters you can't do much about that. The men's locker room was meh, clean, but small and kind of rank smelling like a local YMCA or something. Think that's due to it being so small and having a steam room, there's not great ventilation. Also thought it wasn't good that the urinals were so close to the sinks. Shower pressure not great. Parking is a bit tricky being downtown Sausalito.
