Exceptionally clean, friendly staff. I stayed for two nights while visiting family in Tiburon and learned not to judge a hotel by first impressions. The outside of the hotel raised my eyebrows, but once I got into the room, I was shocked at how clean it was. Not a single stain, hair, or grubby fingerprint was in sight. This is literally how I want every room in every hotel to be. The staff were friendly at check-in. The hotel offers breakfast, coffee, and a small fridge with beverages (beer) and frozen meals. Note: the local town seems to shut down at 9:00 p.m. every night, which is good for quietness but bad if you want a late-night bite. Cons: the building didn't seem well secured. It felt like anyone from the streets could access the outdoor stairs to guests' rooms. Definitely double-bolt your door and don't open it to strangers here. That being said the town itself seems very safe and well policed. The shower lacked water pressure, and the pillow / bed wasn't the most comfortable, tbh. I'd recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Tiburon for a couple of nights (cleanliness is my most heavily weighted hotel criterion, personally). It's not luxury, but it's clean and much more affordable than other spots in the immediate area. I will say though, for maybe a net 50-100 more per night, I stayed at the St. Regis SF (Forbes 5-star), so if you have the ability to stay in the city, you may get more bang for the buck. read more

I've stayed here once before and loved it. Finally got back with my husband for three days. The location is exquisite. Once you park, you never have to get in your car again. But if you want to (we did!), the spectacular Muir Woods is a half hour away. The cute little town is a block away with lots of restaurants. And right on the bay. Plus the hotel is just kind of old-time quaint. They have lots of rooms with patios and balconies, which is a must for me. Plus, there's a great restaurant attached. It's really got everything! And the pool, which is very important to me because I love to swim, was so warm. You swimmers know that a cold pool is not easy. Five stars for this quaint, relaxed lodge! read more

Quiet, well located. Clean but a little run down, but I didn't come here to stare at the cracked grout all day. It's next to a CVS, across from a market, bike trails and marina. We spent the day out of the room and came back at the end of the day. If you need a decent place to hang out in the morning with your coffee before getting on w your vacay in Marin or Sausalito, this place is perfect. I just needed a quiet place with a comfy bed and easy parking. If you have no need for white robes, swim-up bars or Himalayan salt rubs to rest from a day of activity, then this play will meet your needs. read more

I would like to express some concerns regarding my stay from October 11th to October 12th, 2025. My girlfriend, Megan, and I checked into unit 102 without any problems; however, we found it unusual that the front desk did not provide us with a property map or a brief overview of the location of various areas. That night, as we prepared for bed, Megan discovered blood stains on the sheets, which was quite disturbing. Since it was too late to contact the front desk, we decided to address it the following morning. The next morning at 6:00 AM, I called the front desk, and they informed me that someone would be available at 7:00 AM. Instead of waiting for a callback, I chose to walk to the front desk. The same representative, Josh, who checked us in was there, and I informed him about the blood stains on the sheets. He requested that I take pictures and mentioned that he could offer a $200 discount due to the inconvenience. Later that day, I called the front desk again to request a late checkout. I spoke with Josh, who indicated that he needed to discuss something with me at my convenience. Megan and I went to the front desk to find out what Josh wanted to talk about. He stated that he could only provide a $100 discount because we had received multiple noise complaints. He claimed that someone had spoken directly to me about keeping the noise down, which I denied. I also questioned Josh's honesty regarding the noise complaints, as it seemed odd that he did not address it until the next morning or when we initially reported the stains on the sheets. Errm, host your conferences here, just don't make the guests stay at the hotel overnight. Nice conference rooms, beautiful location, good catered food and friendly employees. Looks good on the outside too. Gulp, the room smelled like it hadn't been refreshed since 1970. And looked like it too. (You see what I did there. I took a 1970's putdown and incorporated it into my review.) I mean the old carpet and smell were so bad, I was going to quit the conference on the first night and drive 300 miles home, except the conference was shockingly worthwhile. This is a good option if you're looking for a nice place in Tiburon. The rooms are dated and a little rough, but we found it to be very clean and comfortable. The check in lady was friendly and the process was quick. My two favorite parts of this hotel would be the firepit and the pool. The pool was heated perfectly! We stayed here 3 nights for a staycation for Spring Break. Yes, even pre-schoolers get Spring Break, LOL! Overall a family friendly, clean, and comfortable stay. The Lodge is a 3-level motel-style facility with lots of big rooms and covered walkways on each level. It is located on the main road in Tiburon so super convenient walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Things we liked most: 1. Two comfy queen beds - everyone slept well for 3 nights. 2. Great breakfast restaurant attached to the lodge - Tiburon Tavern (separate Yelp review pending) 3. Attentive service - my 3yo son accidentally knocked my phone behind the heavy TV stand, which seems to be bolted to the carpet. They sent someone to our room with a metal rod which helped fish my phone back. They also fixed the elevator lighting after a day - before it was flickering and scary like in a horror movie. 4. Plentiful parking in the lot and free (no need to enter/leave with ticket through the gate). Areas for Improvement (most minor): 1. The gym is super tiny with just 3 ellipticals I think. a bench and set of dumbbells would have been nice! 2. I don't recall any free coffee in the lobby, but I did see hot water dispensers for tea. 3. The Lodge is a bit dated but everything is functional. Maybe future updates could be a room thermostat and maybe updated carpeting. 4. Our shampoo dispenser also didn't work well so we had to twist the nozzle and squeeze hard. read more

Booked this stay through hotel tonight. $230 for 1 night during 4th of July. Service is good in the front desk, we were greeted promptly. We had happy hour at Tiburon tavern. The calamari and the sangria were awesome! We decided to swim in the afternoon. Small pool but it does the job, cute cabanas and the pool goes to 8 ft deep. Our room was a king size bedroom room 226. We didn't have a view but we didn't mind. My only input is that we could hear people walking upstairs! We could hear it very clearly. Even at night. We were disturbed during our sleep at 8:30am. Also they don't have black out curtains, they only had blinds. So the sun is beaming during the summer and we woke up early. Overall we would stay here again although we would probably request a room in the 3rd floor so we don't get bothered. Service was good, free coffee, and also plenty of parking. read more

First time staying here as I frequent Tiburon quite often. The room was clean and I opted to get one with a balcony which overlooked their own little garden. I liked that they had a restaurant attached and the pumpkin ravioli was actually really yummy! The fire pit was a nice touch and the pool is heated! There is also a hot tub which is a plus at any place. They allow dogs and even though I didn't bring mine I did enjoy seeing everyone with their pets. Cozy and quiet so would definitely recommend. read more

I wanted to commend the staff at the Tiburon Lodge for making our weekend stay so enjoyable. Even during a busy Easter weekend , we felt genuinely welcomed . Josh at the front desk was amiable and helpful in everyway . Later his replacement Rolando did not miss a step in accomdating us as well . I traveled with my 82 year old mother who can challenge most wait staff bar none . Geron, our waiter for Easter Brunch in the dining room was patient beyond measure . We were a big party for Brunch but it seemed as if everyone on the floor kept their cool at a busy time . Maddie the hostess, seemed to manage the busy dining room as if she owned the place . We changed our seating by an hour at the peak time for brunch and she still found a way to squeeze us in. The hostess continued to check in on us us as we enjoyed a cocktail or two on the front patio . The idea of having a Ramos Fizz seemed so appropriate until they arrived . None of our party thought they were an accurate interpretation so we had to send them back . Other then minor inconveniences, everything got corrected durring our stay, I felt the staff all played a big part of our positive experiance at the Lodge . I'm reminded often when traveling how important these first impressions from hospitality staff can be in making a good trip memorable. The hotel is in an enviable location steps from the waterfront and downtown Tiburon shops . Small suggestion...The lounge used to stay open until at least 10pm or 11pm , but now typically closes exactly at 8 or 9:00pm sharp. It seemed Locals and people staying in the hotel enjoyed sharing the space. Please consider keeping the bar and lounge open a little longer for wine and snacks . See you next visit ! read more

Beware! The hotel is not what it used to be. This used to be one of our favorite places to stay but not anymore and will not be back. We recently stayed there again for the first time in a few years. It previous needed updating but it was in pretty good shape. But now: Positives: - location is perfect. The town is quiet and great and a short ferry ride to SF or Angel Island. - exterior looks great (still). - bar/restaurants is great for drinks (didn't try the food). - price is very reasonable (but see negatives for why it's cheap now) - plenty of places to eat at and walk to within 1-5 minute walk including the beautiful view of the bay, Angel Island and SF. Negatives: - room interiors were clearly repainted but not by a high quality company. Lots of cracks in the paint in the corners that gives you that dirty cheap feeling - the bed was fairly comfortable but the newer furniture is cheaply made and clearly they cut corners to save money - the AC unit is one you'd find in a rental apt at best - the bathroom was ok but a few hairs left behind by previous person showed the cleaning crew isn't up to par. The shower curtain (the type you put in your guest bathroom at home) fell apart and we had to fix it to be able to shower. The water flow was great (like a fire hydrant) but too much for the drain to keep up so standing in 3-4 inches of water was not a clean feeling - noisy! Yes, it's "pet friendly" but the walls are so thin you can hear dogs barking in other rooms and people walking around. We were really disappointed to find this once amazing hotel to be such a low budget operation. In such an amazing town as Tiburon, you'd think they'd spent a few more bucks to keep it in line with the town vibes. I'd equate it to staying at a Motel 6 in Beverly Hills. It's unfortunate but wanted others to beware of what you're getting now. read more

Cute little lodge with a very comfy bed. It has close proximity to stores like CVS, restaurants, and to look out at the water. There's a restaurant next door that has good food. Main gripe is parking, it gets a little confusing because most of the parking is behind the hotel which you have to make a u turn to get to. read more

We stayed here for two nights during the Christmas holidays. We enjoyed the proximity to everything in Marin County and San Francisco by ferry. I enjoyed the pool and the hot tub because I didn't like staying in the room for long. The front desk and housekeeping bent over backward to make our stay comfortable. Unfortunately, this is where it felt tremendously short. On the website, it advertised a hotel that was comparable to a brand name Hilton or Marriott. Instead, we got a room with a cramped shower, walls so thin that you could hear everything, a broken television, and the world's most uncomfortable bed. It was a very expensive Motel 6 and I'd rather stay at a Motel 6 than this place. The location wasn't too bad, and you were paying for the top-notch service and location. Surprise stay when we were supposed to go to Point Reyes, but the unexpected torrential rainfall stopped our trip at Stinson beach. The lodge is perfectly located walking distance to Tiburon downtown and Sam's Anchor Cafe. We had our reservation booked and confirmed for August for 6 months. We made plans with other families to stay at the same hotel and with others to meet us for a trip to angel island during our stay. The day of check in all of us who were booked at the hotel were called and notified our reservations had been cancelled due to a "group that is higher priority". We were already in the area with little kids... left with no where to stay. They offered us a room 15 min away which defeated the purpose of staying close to downtown. They expected us to stay at a different hotel one night then move to their hotel the second night. Not feasible with little kids and my mother who has a broken arm. They made no other attempt to make it right except refunding the cost of our ferry tickets. We ended up driving back home and cancelling our vacation because of the poor business decisions made by The Lodge at Tiburon. Waste of PTO and pulling kids out of school. Little consideration for guests especially considering we had this booked for 6 MONTHS. We have previously stayed at (and loved) the Lodge at Tiburon but now lack trust in their ability to operate business with integrity and commitment to the guest. Beware if you book here, work on a contingency plan in case they rug you too. read more

This lodge is a quaint three-level hotel but it needs updating. We reserved a two bedroom, one bath/vanity. The beds were way too soft and the pillows as well. There's a side air conditioning unit in the bay window that we needed to use the majority of the night even with a nice chill that evening. No fire in the nice pit area and the fountain was not working. Parking spots small and limited. Since we stayed just one night, I gave it a three out of five. read more

Reserved a room 4 months ago. I drove 3 hours with my family, went to check in and was told that they had canceled my reservation for "maintenance issues." No phone call from them. No assistance offered to find another hotel to stay at. No apologies offered. They had no problem accepting a $450 payment for this room (syill no reimbursement on this by the way) but couldn't even call me when they found out about this "maintenance issue." So I'm getting married and we needed a hotel in the area. My fiancé called and left several voicemails to talk to one of the TWO employees that do this at this hotel. He never got a call back so I left several voicemails. Eventually, we went to the hotel IN PERSON but the people who we needed to talk to were not there...shocking. The person at the front desk told us to email them. We EACH did, we didn't get a response. Eventually we realized we needed a different hotel. We booked another one. This was at least 3 months ago and no one ever got back to us. This is literally these people only job. If they're not calling people to book the hotel, why do they work there? If I owned this place, they would be fired. I guess they didn't want their hotel almost fully booked in the middle of the week during their slow season. That's fine, other hotels do. read more

I am a local who lived in Tiburon for 2 years. I tried using this place for putting up friends and relatives because of the great location and walking distance to everything great in Tiburon - my favorite town! Sorry to say that the quality is below par. Bad experiences twice now. Especially for the Lux prices being charged. The rooms are 1970s totally dated. Heaters that go on or off - no thermostat. Refrigerators not turned on so boxed prime left-overs from Bungalow Kitchen rot. Food has gotten better since Luna kitchen took over the kitchen. Ok to sit with local snooty Oldtimers at the bar to watch a game. But for your International guests you'd do better at the local 2 Marriotts! Too bad, so sad because like to support local businesses, but not when they don't cut it! read more

The Lodge at Tiburon wasn't anything fancy, but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. The lobby had complimentary coffee and tea, and even complimentary wine after 5PM, which was a nice touch. They did seem a bit understaffed and we waited for about 15 minutes at the front desk before someone came to check us in. The hallways of the hotel were basically outside, which I'm sure is usually fine, but there was a strong musty smell due to the constant rain that week. However, the room itself was smell-free and clean with two comfortable beds and a nice enough bathroom. The wifi worked very well and all the basic necessities were provided - blowdryer, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, etc. The location was convenient too, with downtown Tiburon in walking distance, plenty of parking, and a restaurant next door (literally connected to the hotel). Realistically this is an older building by the water. It has a particular smell, and the building shows signs of age. I was here for a work meeting and my days were so packed I did not get to experience the pool or hot tub. The shower has no water pressure and that was the most disappointing apart from wishing they had usb charging on the night stands. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. What I did enjoy was all the meeting space with direct sunlight. The meals we had while working were so good from perfectly boiled eggs at breakfast to yummy sandwiches and salad at lunch. The coffee was also on point for me! The staff was very courteous and helpful, overall great service. Definitely would stay again. read more

This is a motel style hotel. It was recently renovated. The renovation is a bit iffy. The door to our room was painted and as a consequence it was close to impossible to open and close the door. Poor craftsmanship. The room are good sized with modern amenities. Great beds. The restaurant connected to the place is convenient for breakfast and dinner. The service is VERY slow. You have to go hunt for waiters to get any service. The food is good. read more

We love the Lodge at Tiburon, but more than that we love Jeff!! We have stayed here several times and each time he has really gone above and beyond for us! Aside from Jeff and the great staff here, the rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable and the restaurant and bar are excellent! We always meet really great people outside at the fireplace and always enjoy coming here, it feels like a home away from home and many locals tend to come and even stay here. I was delighted and very happy with my stay. When booking I was a little concerned with previous reviews. So I called the front desk. Jeff assured me my stay would be pleasant. I wasn't let down. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the jacuzzi and the elevator was out of order. Those two items I would of liked to use. Yes, it was a cold chilly night. But after a day of lots of walking I would have liked to get in the jacuzzi to relax. As I arrived I was greeted and checked in right away. The gentleman was a great help with directions and answered all my questions. The room was clean and a really nice size. I had no problems at all with the room. The hotel is located in a nice location. Near shops, the water, Great for views of San Francisco. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel. My son and I had a wonderful dinner and drinks. I'm glad I didn't let the reviews stop me from getting the chance to experience this for myself. read more

Overall we had a fantastic experience and the staff and service was excellent. Our view from the room was beautiful. Only things are the bed could use more cushion/softness and the walls in the room could use some decor. Looks like they have been and are still in the mist of renovating-- new windows, carpet, pool area, landscaping, etc... We love the location-- being able to walk to the waterfront, restaurants, tasting rooms and ferry. We had dinner both nights at two different restaurants by the water-- both were very good. Plus use of hotel bicycles with the bike path being right outside leading to the path along the water was unexpected and perfect! We didn't bring our motorcycles this time, but still great. The restaurant, Tiburon Tavern (next to the restaurant) was incredibly good for breakfast. Service, food and presentation was outstanding. We look forward to returning! read more

We had a quick overnight stay while attending a wedding reception. The hotel had a nice front patio, a spacious fire pit with 2 separate fires going. A pool and jacuzzi were also on the premises. The room was on the second floor. The room was very spacious and had a comfy bed. No noise was heard, Tiburon was really quiet when the sun set, and we liked that. I checked in on a pre paid reservation at 1pm, was told my room would take 30 min to be ready and stored my luggage, returned back around 9pm and was told that they were overbooked and they coordinated a room for me at a hotel 15 minutes away. My Partner and I decided to take a nice lil weekend vacation to Sausalito this past weekend. After some hotel searching we found The Lodge at Tiburon... One thing I liked was the hotel is it's pet friendly, so we were able to take our dogs for a $75 flat fee. The outside of the hotel is actually quiet nice. They have a nice restaurant with a full bar, and a complimentary wine hour at 5pm. The downfall was the rooms...so basic. The beds were hard and the room had absolutely nothing new to it...there's was really nothing special at all....and to top it all off we paid $558 for a 1 night stay (this includes the the dog fee).Vegas prices without the Vegas glamour. I suppose I shouldn't have expected it to be glamorous, but if you're going to charge such a high fee then your hotel should match what we're paying...inside, and out. On a positive note, check out is at 12 and the hotel is walking distance to the small shopping area, but that's it. read more
