I came here for wedding for one of my good friends. What a beautiful waterfront wedding. There was a beautiful ceremony on the lawn and the reception was the perfect space for less than 200 people. The sunset was also spectacular. We took beautiful pictures after the ceremony. read more

We had our daughter's Quinceanera sweet 15th Birthday celebration at the Waters Edge August 2022. While I can say the venue was gorgeous. We did not receive the exact treatment as others did in the previous reviews. Savannah Venue Director whom was suppose to be our coordinator, did a horrible job and staff! Savannah never showed her face until our party was ending and she was the most absolute rudest person to our guests. There we're ladders left out that we had to move ourselves. Mind you... this venue was by NO means a cheap one. My cater arrived and was treated horrible not only were they given a very small space to work with they had to clean up the kitchen before setting up. The food of course arrived cold to my guest. Savannah Venue Director made no effort to assist. The same person that was suppose to be my coordinator, just sat in her office watching us through the cameras. We were told that the front bar was going to be closed and that we would be able to use the counter space to set up fruit. Well the bar was opened at the last minute. When we approached Savannah, she stated just find a table and set it up somewhere. Savannah's services was useless to us. The one that really infuriates me..... Is the fact that the toilets were backing up and she told my husband that there was a plunger to use it! The toilets were backing up because we had to ask many times for toilet paper. We paid good money for this venue. Might contract was not met to the fullest. Savannah was not professional at all. Her appearance was unprofessional and she was very rude to myself and my guest.Our expectation my Husband and I was to enjoy our daughter 15th Birthday (Quinceanera) instead we were very distressed I also want to add that my husband and I made it possible for my daughter celebrating her Birthday and guest not know what was going on behind the scene for my daughter to remember her dream Quinceanera perfect and our guest too. read more

Water's Edge has a beautiful location on the water and our pre-wedding meetings went very smoothly. This is why I was completely stunned at the behind the scenes chaos that took place the week and day of my daughter's wedding. The vendors were not called with a timeline as promised, so they were all calling the bride on wedding day, not knowing exactly when they could arrive at the venue. There was a post the night before the wedding on facebook asking for help for the event- "no age limit or experience needed". We booked this event on December 27, 2019. There was plenty of time to be prepared. We were adamant that tea and water was to be on every table and refilled so our guests would not have to look for a drink...we were promised this would happen at every pre-wedding meeting, but as we arrived at the reception, we were informed that they had set up water stations. Not only did they not do what I paid them to do and made this decision without my consent, there were no glasses at the water station to use. The caterer was sent away when they arrived with food for 300 people saying they did not need to be there that early. Again, they had not been contacted by Water's Edge after multiple phone calls trying to coordinate. Once the caterers were there to plate food, they were put in a very small, filthy room that was filled with clutter, including food warmers and dishes on the floor. They had trouble getting help from the venue staff with setting up, serving, and cleaning. At one point, the caterer had to send out her own staff to serve tables because guests were coming to the back room asking for food. We paid a hefty up-charge to have food served to the tables. One staff person made the comment that they were hoping only 150 of the 300 expected guests would actually come. They did not have enough dishes to serve the number of guests and were picking them up off the tables and washing them before reusing them for the remaining guests. Obviously, with a system such as this, our guests were kept waiting much longer than they should have. The staff only put half of the bread we paid for on the tables and brought the rest back saying it wasn't needed. The groom's cake was never cut. They tried to tell us this didn't happen, but we saw the uncut cake at the end of the evening. They threw out all the left-over cake!!!! They told guests we were out of tea when there was plenty. And, when it was time to clean up, they all disappeared and the family cleaned up. Our bread boards were brought to us by the hired security guard with butter smeared all over them. We had to wipe them off before we could load them in the car. This is unbelievable considering the amount we paid for this venue. There were tables that were to be broken down for the dance floor and this was never done. The owners (although they kept saying they were "on the floor" with us during the event) were not seen most of the evening. I am the one who met with and paid them and I feel as if they should have checked in with me from time to time, rather than me having to try to find them. One of the most disappointing problems from the night was the fact that several guests, family, and other vendors witnessed Water's Edge staff drinking alcohol at our non-alcohol event. One was even drinking straight out of the whisky bottle. There were little things that were not done such as forgetting to put out pictures on the cake table, napkins folded differently than we had discussed, the cake tables crammed in the corner instead of arranged in the space properly, no one to help with bouquet toss or sparkler lighting...but I would not have posted a negative review regarding those things had it not been for the other, bigger issues of a filthy area for the caterer, guests not served, poor communication wedding week, etc. Even after lengthy, detailed meetings and promises to carry everything out to perfection, I'm sad to say, Water's Edge was a disappointment. read more

I just got engaged and one of the first things I planned on doing was booking a venue for my wedding. I must say finding a place is very difficult. You have to take into so many factors. I had been contacting this particular venue and was luckily invited to scout it out on their grand opening/preview. It was a great chance to look at the space fully filled and decorated. I must say it was a great experience. I will not end up booking my wedding here, just purely on distance from my home. I myself am almost 1 hr away and a lot of my guests are upwards of 2 hrs away. I liked the space being right next to the water. I could definitely see some beautiful photos with the backdrop, but I just had to take into consideration of my friends and family member's driving out. The main room is smaller than I thought, but they said they could sit up to 300 but more like 250 without having to overflow onto the outside area. They plan on potentially having the outside area covered. The weather has delayed some of the construction plans. I look forward to potentially using the space down the line for another event, but it is off my list as a wedding venue. read more

I flew in from California for my cousin's wedding. Having never been to Texas, I was a little weary of the heat, but was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and beauty of this venue. This had to be one of the most beautiful wedding venues I have seen in a long time. The Palm trees were gorgeous, the ceremony was perfect, the bridal party looked stunning, and the guests had a wonderful time. Staff were professional and courteous. The management team was on point and readily available to address any specific requests made by those in attendance. I planned my wedding in five months while simultaneously building a house so that should give you a little foresight as to my life prior to my big day. I don't think I've couldn't pulled it off in that time frame without the help of all the Waters Edge staff, especially Savannah. They all truly love what they do and it shows in the exemplary customer service they provide. Savannah was ALWAYS available to me either by text, email, or phone which is a big weight lifted on a frantic bride with a short time table. The venue is beautiful. It definitely gives you a destination wedding vibe without having the trouble of travel. The Bridal and grooms' suite were very spectacular as some venues only had a basic restroom. They also on top of it with the coordination of your day of. They make sure everything is seamless. I would definitely recommend them hands down. They were a dream to work with. Waters edge is a fabulous venue. It's not huge, but for a small event it is perfect. The deck overlooks the ocean, and also has fire pits that have circulating water as well. There is a small bar to the right when you walk in with a bartender on staff. There is a decent size dance floor, but not big enough to accommodate more than 100 people. The bathrooms are well maintained and nicely laid out. For a small wedding or event this layout is perfect. read more

After the hurricane Harvey wiped out my original venue in Aransas pass, waters edge touched my heart so much to move an already scheduled event so I could keep my date. They also helped me plan a completely brand new wedding in 2 months which i thought was impossible because I work long hours. Very impressive. Wedding planning is not my forte or passion but they made it super easy. The place is exquisite and everyone said it was like a movie. People who saw pictures but didn't attend swore it was a destination wedding and we were in Hawaii or something. It was worth every penny. My friend married her now husband at this venue this past weekend and I had an awesome time! The bride was stunning and gorgeous, the groom was handsome and the venue was breathtaking! Their food selection was chicken, mash potatoes, green beans and pork and it was delicious! There were plenty of appetizers to go around and the servers were great! The cake, lemon and strawberry, was perfection! The staff (servers, management and valet) were very helpful and friendly. Waters Edge came to our rescue at the last minute during the unusual January 2018 rainouts. Both Rachel and Savannah, along with their staff, helped us pull my daughter and son-in-laws "backyard" wedding together. They helped us transition our plans with very little stress and added touches that we had not planned for. We can't wait to see how beautiful the wedding pictures will be. I have hesitated in writing this review, but I thought It only fair to warn all the unexpected brides to be. I would never recommended this venue, or their staff, to ever assist with an important event again. Rachael and Savannah are capable of turning what should have been a beautiful fairy tale experience for the bride to be, into a nightmare. We booked the event one year in advance. We were told the venue would be in great condition, but on the day of the event, the fire and water feature, did not work at all, the a/c wouldn't cool, and the vents were dripping dirty water on our guest, and their dinner plates, as they ate dinner. The grass had not been cut in months, and was 9 in tall. The seating was not arranged as per our wedding planners design, (which we were charged an additional $800 from Waters Edge to set up). We were lied to, and told the City of El Lago, and later after questioning this, the Fire Marshall, required we have mandatory valet service. This was a fee per wedding guest regardless if they drove a car or not. Two thirds of our guest flew in for the wedding. This was a additional $1500. I could go on, and on. Rachael and Savannah would not return phone calls to our vendors, for many days, making the last days difficult to organize. My daughter was crying the entire week, prior to the wedding, for all the stress they caused her. Fortunately the wedding planner we hired was able to work around all of this and pulled off a beautiful wedding. We hired all of our own vendors, thank goodness. The photos were spectacular due to the bride and groom, the wedding party, our professional photography, and the view of Clear Lake was beautiful. Even they couldn't mess that up. Our experience was similar to another review on here from Tri, they didn't do a good job following the itinerary which was very stressful and upsetting to the bride. The bride was also made several promises by the staff that were never upheld. They are now trying to screw the bride out of her deposit and refund. It wasn't ALL bad though, the location and view are both great. I would still attend an event there as a guest but I definitely wouldn't trust this venue with my money. I also feel like the owner threatened me (and others) with a "legal team" for putting negative reviews online. The service at a wedding reception we attended was horrific! I would give no stars, except the setting was beautiful for the wedding. The valet service for parking the car on a stormy night was a nice touch, although we felt compelled to tip. Not the fault of the employees, but it seemed the right thing to do. Thankfully we had the cash to do so. The food was nasty and the food service almost non-existent. Many servers looked as if they were moving without any idea how to cover the entire room. My husband was never offered an appetizer, although the rest of us in the group were. The bride and groom selected mashed potatoes, green beans, chicken and a spicy pork. Unfortunately, I cannot each any of those items without becoming ill. So when I saw a server offer another guest macaroni and cheese (from the children's plate), I asked if I could also partake. I was asked if I ate meat. I do and responded so, but also shared that I did not eat any of the other offerings. Since I answered in the affirmative, she refused to give me any mac and cheese. Since my dinner would have consisted of only a roll, I tried the pork. It was like eating shoe leather, difficult to cut and hard to chew! I could put up with all of that but then the wedding cake was served - well not quite. Half of our table was served cake. The other half was told the server would return with more. He did return, barely glanced at our table, looked around the room and returned the tray of cake to the kitchen. After 5 minutes of no other server arriving with cake, I told the bartender (the only server in sight). She got the manager who asked what kind of cake we wanted. None of us with cake were ever given a choice. I informed her we just needed cake. Another server brought out a piece of cake on the far side of the room, looked like he was lost and returned the slice to the kitchen. Finally when I pantomimed to the bar keep that we still had no cake, she got the manager. She brought out one piece of cake. Then returned later with two more and asked what else we needed. Now understand that NO utensils were provided with the cake. I asked for utensils and indicated that the last two guests at our table might like some cake as well. She did return with their cake and 3 utensils so we could eat. On a positive note, the strawberry cake was good. Sadly the lemon not so much! read more

I don't know if I can put into words how amazing I think Savannah is and how perfect my wedding was because of her! I knew I wanted a venue on the water, and when my fiance and I walked into Water's Edge, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. My wedding was everything I wanted it to be and more, and it was all thanks to Savannah and her staff. From the very first meeting Savannah was so helpful and even though we lived a few cities apart, she would always make the time to call, text, or email with me if I needed something. Everyone at my reception kept telling me over and over again how beautiful the venue was, and I couldn't agree more with them. Savannah and her staff made sure to check with us throughout the night to see if we needed anything and Savannah rushed to get me Advil because I was crying so much throughout the ceremony. She did above and beyond for me and my wedding party and we felt pampered the entire night. The Water's Edge had the complete package including the linen's, DJ, bridal cake, and caterer and they were all amazing vendors and I have nothing bad to say about any of them because they made sure that my wedding went off perfectly. The Water's Edge is such a beautiful venue and I am so happy that we picked this venue, it was an important day and Savannah and her staff made sure that it was perfect for me and my husband. If I have any other event I will make sure that I book The Water's Edge! read more
