I haven't been to this dentist for almost a year. Their billing system is so messed up. I was gone for at least 6 months and they started billing me for past services that were so long ago I can't validate them. They would send a bill and tell me it was 90days overdue but I had just received it. I called their office and the office manager told me they were having trouble with their system. I continue to get bills that I don't think are valid. Seems like a real scam to me! Avoid this dentist or you could be in for a monumental hassle. read more

I had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with Waterside Dental on Venice Island. With the billing, not with the dentist. I paid for my appointment in-full on 11/25/25. I later discovered that Waterside Dental is in-network with my insurance (Aetna). So, I should have paid only what Aetna's contract with Waterside allows. I have been trying since then to get the refund due to me. After repeated attempts, I filed a grievance through Aetna, who said I should receive a refund of $226 from Waterside according to their contract. Jodie, Office Manager at Waterside, informed Aetna refund would be forthcoming in January, but to date no refund. After numerous phone calls and promises, no refund has been received and it's been nearly 3 months. I cannot recommend doing business with this unscrupulous enterprise. read more

From the minute I checked in until checkout, they treated me with the utmost compassion and care. 3.) Care team: My hygienist was absolutely amazing. Plus, she had a really good sense of humor. I like the dental hygentist but that's about it. I was told that I needed a new crown. The tooth has not bothered me and my prior dentist who I only changed a little over a year ago (I loved them but they no longer take my insurance) They never said my crown had issues. Then 3 other people I know also needed crowns who also just saw this dental office needed. That's a bit too coincidental! Also one of those people I know is my husband and I had his xrays transferred to this office and the prior dentist had the same xrays of his teeth and did not say there was anything wrong with his crown. I decided to post this because I have a feeling this office is very "crown" happy. Cha-ching! I am very disappointed and think I may have to find another dental office. read more

Was a patient when Dr. Strickland oversaw the office. Since Dr. Williams has taken over, my experience with insurance, billing and office manager has been frustrating and stressful. I've been dealing with a billing issue for over 2 months. Just got a bill that has fees because it's 90 days old. Billing is handled by someone else so they won't stop sending bill even though this is a problem on their end. Terrible customer service. Can anyone recommend a different dentist please! read more

The worst dental office I have been to in my whole life. The dentist came in my room with dirty gloves on. Also the office was dirty. It took 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment to been seen. The front office could not explain any insurance information to me. I was mortified to see on the dental chair was blood from prior patients. I informed Dr.Williams of the problems and he replied ooh well this is my office and a little blood never hurt anyone. Terrible dentist I don't recommend this office at all. I will be calling the Health department. FYI I can't post my review without choosing a start rating. This office does deserve a 1 star. read more

While the staff is very friendly, I find this office pushy about future dental work that I don't feel I need at this time. It is all about $$$$ with this office.Just had $874 of periodontal cleaning and was told I had to come back in four weeks and pay for another cleaning!!! First question I was asked on my first appt. was if my crooked lower teeth bothered me!!! I am elderly, I don't need cosmetic dentistry, I went in for a cleaning. Also, it is almost impossible to get through by phone some days. on Called six times in the last two days to reschedule an appointment and recording each time with no callback. I think I will be cancelling rather than rescheduling. My husband is literally driving there to cancel the appt. because I know this office will charge us. read more

I went there for an exam and a cleaning that my insurance would cover. I ended up being billed $153.00 for x-rays my insurance did not cover, an exam and an estimate for nearly $10,000 for future dental work. Being on fixed income this was $153.00 I could ill afford. I have been going to Waterside Dental-Venice for a number of years and always found them to be thorough, polite and accomodating, however, today I went for a cleaning and the receptionist, Dawn, told me I could not have a cleaning without xrays. When I told her I did not want x-rays today, she told me either I would have them or I could not have the cleaning. So, I opted to leave. When I called back and asked for the Dentist to call me back, she said that the dentist was on leave and she did not know when she would return. I am frustrated and angry and will never go back to that Dentist again. read more

Phone calls routinely not answered & allowed to go to voicemail. They are poor at returning calls. I always have a different hygienest, who is not familiar with my history. Ancillary help are cool & indifferent, particularly Dawn. read more

Finally went into the back looking for someone and was rudely told "you haven't been there long I'll be with you in a minute." I left immediately. Been a patient for 2 yrs usually satisfied with the thorough deep cleaning. This time got a terrible cleaning that was little more then a flossing and brushing. This after I was told I needed a more deep periodontal cleaning - that my insurance didn't cover. I am new to the area. I had tooth pain and found Waterside Dental through my insurance company. The staff and the Doctor were friendly yet professional. I was nervous as I always have been at a Dentist office, however they put me at ease more than I ever have been in the past. Both the Doctor and Assistant (and Cammie at the front desk) listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. They spent a lot of time with me and gave me all my options in order to make an informed decision. read more
