I visited this spa on Valentine's Day Weekend and spent some extra money to get pampered! The massage was wonderful, and very relaxing. I also had the full body salt scrub, which I would definitely recommend. The ambiance is very tranquil, and I appreciated that everything was very clean. There's a place to relax in between treatments and steam/sauna for those who enjoy that as well. This is the perfect place to get away. There's great food and shopping just minutes away too. Soothing, clean environment, with friendly staff (even though I was coming in shortly before they closed, they still were pleasant and gracious). I've been getting my hair done at Waterstone Salon with Amanda for about a year now. When I started going there my hair was dry, frizzy, and the generally lacking luster. Amanda has a really good eye for color and has given me a cut that looks good and takes very little of my time to fix. Since I have been using products from the Salon my hair has never looked healthier. I would highly recommend Amanda at the Waterstone Salon. I've never had a better cut and style. read more

Unfortunately, today, the steam generator wasn't working properly. I was encouraged to turn the switch on and off multiple times, try to get it to work, and it didn't solve the problem. I decided to leave, as I wasn't really having the relaxing experience I was seeking. They didn't charge me for my visit and said they're going to work on it next week. I will try it again after January 22nd when they said it'll be fixed. read more

Decided on a whim to get a soak & massage. On short notice we were able to find appointments for my friend & I and I am so glad they did! The tub for the soak was large & comfortable with a good selection bath salts to select from. The massage that followed was fabulous! Hit all of the right spots with enough pressure & touch to work out the knots. After the massage, I enjoyed the sauna and followed that with a shower in the lovely locker room. This was the best facial I have ever had!!! Jody was the best! I have very sensitive skin and my face usually burns half way through a facial, but not with their extra mild organic products. After it felt clean and ready to apply my make-up, not oily or greasy. I would come back for another facial With that said, their website has "Spa Etiquette" to show up 15 min early. They don't open until 10:00, the same time as my appointment. So I was left standing to wait. Once the doors opened, I was then sent back to quickly change and straight to the room. After, I was encouraged to leave. I was never shown the solarium or sauna. I would have like to relax a bit more. Maybe it was because I was by myself and not in a group. But I left wanting more. I didn't feel pressured to purchase their products, but did purchase one (I should have looked at the price first). Expensive treat, but for once in a while it was great. read more

We were looking so forward to our day. After a delicious breakfast, at Lithia Springs Resort, we awaited our appointments in the MOST LOVELY area. Elizabeth, my facialist and Dominique, my husband's massage therapist, both came out to greet us and visit a bit. It was so special. We each felt as if they REALLY cared. We were so thrilled with our wonderfully professional and luxurious services. Wish we would have had an extra day because I know where we would have been! Each service was such a treat - we will absolutely go back and highly recommend Waterstone Spa to any visitor - or Ashland local! I have had my hair done by Lezlie in the Salon many times and she is great. Very friendly, experienced and an excellent judge of what is realistic for someone's hair vs. what could only be obtained with a true magic wand and a fairy godmother. The salon uses Kevin Murphy products and is green. Ernestine in the salon has done a manicure and pedicure for me. She was very friendly, professional and did a complete job. Way more than I have every had done at other salons. My polish has held up well and she also educated me about things I can do at home to prolong my mani and pedi. From what I understand this salon is under new managment and they have unified the staff under a team banner to ensure the quality of care is uniform. read more

I had a wonderful experience with a 75-minute massage at this location. The facility was welcoming, clean, and professional.

A very fancy place with steam room and sauna and lemon water and robes and things. However, the massage was the worst I've ever received. Despite it being a "deep tissue" massage, and despite requesting the firmest massage therapist, and asking the therapist several times to use more pressure, it was a feather touch massage, gently moving over the surface of my skin. 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Then, while paying with the gift certificate for a "90 minute deep tissue massage" the person checking me out told me that in her computer system, it was listed as a different kind of massage for less value, and that she wanted me to pay the balance of $15. After a brief exchange she agreed that was ridiculous and let me leave without paying the balance. Never again. Don't waste your money. read more

While recently in Ashland, I went to the Waterstone Mineral Springs Spa located on E. Main Street (Adjacent to the Ashland Springs Hotel). I had a wonderful swedish massage in a very relaxing atmosphere - my masseuse, Jamila, was very friendly and checked-in regularly with me to make sure the pressure was alright and that I was comfortable. Everything about the spa was clean - great showers with products, lockers, everything I could have ever wanted. The only glitch - I arrived a half hour early to use the steam shower. The receptionist showed me where it was, she stated, "There's someone in there now, just use a towel to wrap yourself." I assumed from her comment that the steam room was meant to be shared. I went to the locker room and changed into a robe. I then went out to the public area where the steam room and towels were located. The only way to wrap myself in a towel, was to completely disrobe. While doing this, I thought "I guess the men have a separate steam room?" Then I opened the door - and not only did the men not have a separate steam room, but there was a totally naked man sitting in the one right there. I didn't want to appear alarmed, so I took a seat in the room (which could have seated about 8 people) and wondered if the place was meant for sharing. After an appropriate amount of time so as not to offend me (perhaps), the naked man got up and left (without so much as a towel to wrap around himself), and presumably went out and put on his robe. I then had the steam room to myself, which was great, and included a cold shower for cooling off (I had, of course, prevented this man from enjoying his cold shower). When I emerged from the steam room, I noticed that there was a small sign hanging on the towel rack that said "In Use. Do not Disturb". This sign was not, however, hanging on the door when I arrived. I came to the conclusion that I was not supposed to have shared that steam room with the naked man. But, he never put the sign up. And when the receptionist showed me the steam room, knowing that there was someone else in there, she didn't put the sign up for him either. She didn't tell me to wait until he was done and she would let me know I could use it. She didn't say anything to suggest that it wasn't a shared steam room - so how was I to know? I do recommend Waterstone for their entire set up, but this was the one odd thing - so just know if you are planning to use the steam room - it may or may not be with others. And, if you aren't comfortable changing from your robe to a towel, or walking around in a towel, in an area where there are both men and women, then you should probably avoid the steam room altogether. And hopefully, the good folks at Waterstone will come up with a clearer way to explain to their guests how properly to use the steam room. read more

I am visiting Ashland for a week and wanted a day of pampering so I booked a massage at Waterstone. I give the place 4 stars because the massage was wonderful- I had Anna- and the staff were all very pleasant. Prices were pretty standard for a spa- not overly expensive. I enjoyed the steam room after my treatment and overall, I left feeling very relaxed and happy. What's keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the actual building & facilities... not that they were bad or unclean in any way, it's just that when I go to a spa, I like to feel as though I'm in a relaxing oasis of amenities...couches, hot tubs, sun decks, etc etc. This felt more like a remodeled doctor's office with a sauna & steam room. Don't get me wrong, it was still nice, and I really don't mean to sound snooty, but I was expecting the spa itself to be a bit more than what it was. Still LOVED my massage though and would definitely come back. read more
