Today, I found the original receipt and they sold me 1131 sf of flooring with a note that there is 5% for waste. The problem is, the new contractor who measured says there is only 800sf downstairs. That's 331 sf extra that I never got. It's almost $1000 over what I should have been charged! This whole thing was a scam from the start!

David came out, looked at my shower, (seriously, just looked at the shower and threw out a number and said he could do it the next week for xxx amount) and he was done. I asked for a written estimate detailing what steps would be taken since he couldn't tell me when he was at my home. He obviously was just the salesman and didn't know anything about this project. Other bids I received said that it would take a good week to repair and he said two days, which I found odd. Anyway, he called me the next day asking me if he could put me down for the next week to get his guys scheduled. Told him I was waiting for the detailed estimate-not detailed with $$, detailed as in the steps taken to repair. I never heard from him again. Ghosted. He wasted my time and made the company look really bad. He over promised and under delivered. It is a real shame as I have a lot of high profile clientele that I was going to give referral to had the project come out well. Now it will be the opposite. All he had to do is be honest and tell me he was incorrect and it couldn't be done. I felt as if I was being pushed into signing on the dotted line without knowing what I was signing. Once he knew he couldn't pull a fast one over me, he ghosted me. Not a good look for their business.

After issues were addressed and a balance adjustment was agreed upon, Cy contacted my wife directly requesting additional personal payment through Zelle/Venmo. This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Payment matters should go through proper company channels -- not personal payment apps. Overall, we did not feel that the level of care, professionalism, or customer consideration matched what we paid for. We expect contractors to communicate clearly, honor scheduling commitments, stand behind their work properly, and handle disputes professionally. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

We found ourselves in a bit of a conundrum recently. We had two short, non-load-bearing walls…read moreremoved in a room that had engineered wood flooring glued onto a concrete slab. Issue # 1: Remove old floor and replace with new strips in a pattern that smoothly fills in the spaces where the old floor was removed Issue # 2: Match the size, color, and grain of the old flooring with new replacement strips A representative (Clayton) came to our home to measure and give us an estimate. He invited us to visit the store to look at samples. The number of samples we found in the store were a bit daunting at first. But a helpful sales representative there guided us through a selection process (limited by the few samples that might fit and match in color.) She gave us several samples to bring home. Finally deciding on a match, we returned to the store to place our order. Unfortunately, we had to order an entire box, even though we'd be using less than a quarter of that amount. When the installers came, they tore out the old floor, then discovered that the wood that was sent did not match our color! Arrrgggh. (But thank goodness they suggested we return to the store to straighten it out. Which we did.) The floor was installed in about half a day and we were extremely pleased with the efficiency and courtesy of the installation crew. Eric, Project Manager came to do a final inspection, repaired one or two minor glue gaps...and we were done. Overall, we were very pleased with the service (save for the initial mistaken wood color). And, as you can see by the photos I've posted, they did a great job interlacing (weaving) in the new with the old.

When our materials were delivered, they forgot to deliver the shoe molding. It ended up not being a huge deal as we decided to also use Mike, the person delivering the materials, to do the install. Unfortunately, the day of the install our vapor pad had not arrived. For me, it wasn't a big deal, but it could have been a big deal for someone who took an entire day off of work to accommodate the install. Mike arrived mid-day the next day to do the install. He is very friendly, talkative, and works alone. He also seems passionate about flooring. Unfortunately, working alone really made the project a rather long one. To install 289 square feet took 3 days of working off and on. Also, on day three, Mike realized that he had the wrong shoe molding so it delayed his start and he also had to leave just before our job was complete to work on another job - as our delay had caused a scheduling overlap. When he finally made it back to our project, he didn't have the tools needed to complete the job...so he had to leave and come back again. These minor issues made the project drag on. There were other minor issues as well, but you get the picture. In the end, I think they did a good job. Though not perfect, they were good communicators, enthusiastic, and eager to please. The quality of work was good and Mike didn't make a mess, one extra star for cleanliness!
