This isn't one star because my money was refunded after I had to return to the store due to emails being ignored, but it was done in a begrudging manner and it was made clear my needs as a customer were not a priority. My husband drew the sketch, I scanned it and emailed it to Barnards. They gave me a cost estimate for the size I wanted and the time frame to pick it up. I believe it was a few days turn around. They also sold me an ink pad and I picked up a little self-inking "lips" stamp out of their glass case upon pick up. I think they make many other things like office name plates. The place is huge and centrally located but you can easily drive past it over and over. When you check out they use a stamp about 3 times and I love that sound. "PAID" "PICKED UP" etc, all over your old school receipt.

I was told by an employee that if I had the order in by the first week of June, then I would get ahead of the summertime rush. All that needed to be done was to build the box and mount the items. I had already designed the layout prior. The ceremony is set for 1 September; however, I also (repeatedly) informed the employee that I would be gone all of August. There was also a finishing touch I needed to add to the shadowbox and on the recommendation of the same employee, I decided to wait until I had the box in hand before proceeding with the final addition. I was told it should take a total of approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete. At the 3 week point I inquired as to how it was coming along and was informed there was no update and to check back in 2 weeks. Two weeks later, same response. The following week, same response. Each time I re-emphasized that I would not be available in August and need the box to take care of the remaining item. Ultimately, I picked up my items today and the box (apparently) hadn't even been started yet and my choices were to have an incomplete box or no box at all and with me being gone all of August, should there be a snag, I would be unable to attend to it. I ultimately chose to cancel the order. During this two month ordeal, I received no phone calls and no updates. I know that on at lease one occasion a short notice order came in and it took priority over my order. I will not presume to tell you how to run your business, but I will say that I wasted two months with nothing to show for it and now I don't have enough time to get a shadowbox made. I would have thought first in, first out would be the overriding business model but apparently it is not. As I asked the employee today, had I ordered the shadowbox 12 months ago, would they not start it until the 11th month?

My husband also got a gun with cerakote through their gunsmith and it was supposed to only take a week and ended up taking 1.5 months and the gunsmith did not even put the gun back together properly. Very poor experience with this business and would go to any other gun store before I went back there.
