We purchased a new vehicle from this location, no problem. That was a painless experience. Unfortunately with less than 100 miles on it, the issues began. I brought it in and was literally ghosted. I was not able to get a straight answer regarding the repairs or when they could/would be done any of the times I called, which were numerous. Almost a month later I finally called the national number. They had similar difficulties with communication but were able to tell me that the "special order parts" I had been waiting on were never ordered. In fact the work order had been closed the day before I called them. Ok, I tried again. This time I was assured not only did they have the parts but that everything would be fixed the day I brought it back in. That was the 5th of August. I got my vehicle back at the end of the day, but only bc I inquired at the end of the day if it was ready. Picked it up.... and.... Nope. Not fixed. I don't understand what the problem is. Communication is not a strong suit for this establishment. I just want my new vehicle to function and operate like a NEW VEHICLE instead of a pick n pull special. 2 strikes.... Come on people.... While towing my travel trailer with my F250 SD Diesel into Moss Landing on a Thursday afternoon, I began experiencing some electrical issues. Made it to our RV spot and began to troubleshoot the problem. I contacted Watsonville Ford Service at 4:00 pm. I spoke with Adolpho (Service Advisor) explained what was happening and what I thought was the problem, a defective alternator. He agreed and transferred me to parts where Ken took over. They did not have a Ford alternator in-stock and the closest was in Fresno. It was a crap shoot if it would arrive and be installed by Friday, Service wasn't open on Saturday. Ken found a local parts house that had a rebuilt alternator that he had delivered or picked up by their team by Friday morning. Back to Adolpho, he told me have it there first thing in the morning and they would have the alternator installed by the end of the day Friday at 4:30. Well, they had it done by 3:30!! Way to go Watsonville Ford Parts and Service, I can't thank you enough....And to top it off, it was delivered with a repair bill that was under their estimate!!!!! The question is how many times does it take WATSONVILLE FORD to correctly repair a transmission ? Sound familiar..... For me it was 2 times so far.......You would think with a master mechanic labor rate of $260 per hour they would be able to fix it correctly the first time right ? I took my 2020 Ford Transit van in to have the transmission rebuilt at 56,104 miles which was covered under the manufactures 60K warranty the problem occurred 4694 miles later when the transmission cooler failed and started leaking oil profusely just after the 60K warranty period. According to WATSONVILLE FORD the additional $1800 repair would NOT be covered under the previous repair or the 3 yr 36K mile warranty that came with the rebuilt transmission or the manufacturer's extended warranty because it was mounted externally on the transmission and not internally. I'm sorry the description on your original service ticket includes the wording removing, inspecting and flushing the transmission cooler before reinstalling it. What am I missing here besides the reason you're trying to rip us off ? This was an obvious oversight on the MASTER MECHANICS part. In the end Michael C the service writer was sympathetic and tried to help but indicated his hands were tied. While Randall L the service manager was worthless and seemed to care less that I was beyond pissed at the way this was handled and turned out. COME ON WATSONVILLE FORD YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. I found the used car I'd wanted at a great value, so I called Watsonville Ford to talk about test driving it and then planned on buying it. I spoke to Alexis Rocha, who I also exchanged emails with, and I told him I could come the same day or the following day. He told me to come the next day and we decided on 3pm. I had to find someone to bring along with me because I don't have a car, and I planned to buy this vehicle and drive it home. I live in Berkeley and we drove a full two hours to Watsonville and made it at 3pm like we'd discussed. However, when I got there and walked inside, the salespeople asked what I was in for and I told them about the car I was supposed to test drive. They told me that they'd just sold it, literally right before I came in. The person I'd spoken to before was there but said nothing. I'd come two hours on my day off intending to buy a car, and also now had to tell the person I bugged to come with me that I couldn't even see the car, so I brought them out for nothing! The employees offered to show me some Ford Broncos but I wasn't interested and left. When I went out, I literally got to watch the car I wanted drive off the lot, and then when I checked my email I saw that I'd received an email at 2:50pm, ten minutes before I was there, telling me that "someone else was test driving the car". They had my phone number and knew I was coming at 3... couldn't they have at least called me? If coming as soon as possible was the problem, then why wouldn't the salesperson have told me that I should come the previous day like I offered? I understand that everyone is just trying to get cars off the lot, but honestly the communication was not there and it really made for a bad experience. This took up much of my day off as I then had to drive two hours back home, and I'm still without a car. I was ready to buy a vehicle, but they refused to remove unnecessary add-ons like StarGuard and SafeCat that I didn't want or need. My key keyless entry plate flew off and broke causing electrical issues. I was told by Adolfo that he would look into it, but didn't hear back from him. I emailed and called twice and still no response. The plate flying off is a pending recall. Pending probably because Ford has no replacement parts. I called Ford directly and was told to have my local service manager call them so they could determine the best course of action. I informed Aldolfo, but don't know what, if anything was done because he never responded to my email or returned phone calls. All I wanted was a status report so I could make a decision on what to do. I've been to so many dealerships trying to buy a car and have been bombarded sleazy salesmen but John was different. He was straight forward with me from the beginning when I ordered my car all the way to driving it off the lot. To get everything organized prior to arrival I worked with Ivan who streamlined the whole process, he was great! Had my 5 day old F150 towed in to them when it was stuck in park and I was getting powertrain error messages. The service manager told me they "fixed" the problem, the problem they determined, was that I was pressing the wrong button (I corrected him, informing him that I'm not an idiot and showing him video of me pressing the correct button with no results). He told me the error messages were nothing to be concerned about, a result of being put into 4 wheel drive. I saw the vehicle I wanted online and called requesting to test drive a vehicle and set an appointment for between 4:15 and 4:30 as I explained I had to secure a ride and that I would be driving an hour to get there. I explained I was fully ready to purchase the vehicle as my current ride just took a crap. Well, just walked in and asked to speak to Ivan about the test drive and another sales person said, "bad news, I just sold your car." Not "how are you," not "I apologize for the confusion." Just that and then got on the phone in search of Ivan. Now, I get it. Cars are hard to come by and they can go quick. Before I start, this is for the service center only. I cannot speak to the sales dept. That being said, the service center is awful. First of all, when you pull up to the service center, there's no one to greet you, and after sitting in my car for about five minutes, I realized maybe I'm just used to Toyota of Santa Cruz' service center, so I walked through the doors to a counter, where a man was sitting there. he didnt' look away from his computer, nor did he greet me. I asked him if this was the service area, and he said yes, and continued looking at his computer. After a few awkward moments of silence I spoke up and told him I had an appt. for my car to be serviced. He looked at his computer and after a few moments said, "did you make the reservation online?" I said I did and have a text to prove it. After a few more seconds of awkward silence, he said, "Do you have someone to pick you up?" I said, "no, I signed up for the complimentary shuttle when I made my appointment." He then tells me that's not going to happen because all of his guys are at lunch and it would take "atleast 2 hours" before I could get a ride. I told him I signed up for the service, and if I would have known I wasn't going to get a ride, I would have picked a different time when the shuttle service was available. He basically gave me the look of, "you're bothering me, and I don't care." He then told me the service would take a few hours to complete. So at that point, I rescheduled my service to 2pm, but as I drove away I thought forget it, I'll gladly drive a little farther to try another dealership because whomever was working the counter clearly does not like his job, or was having a bad day, but his pathetic customer service skills lost atleast one customer and hopefully more if they read this. Don't waste your money here, had a new battery installed and they didn't reset the computer which cost me $200 to have done at North Bay Ford because I didn't have time to take it back to this place or deal with excuses. Also scheduled my 100k tuneup but because my car was at 102k they wouldn't cover it under my service package. At 96k they said nothing about making sure to bring it in before then or it would be voided. Had my car serviced at North Bay Ford and they said that they remind customers all the time as if it's part of their service to customers. Shady shady shady. I had my dad's truck posted on auto-trader and I got a message saying that they would be interested in purchasing it since it was still brand new. I showed them the offers we got and they said they could do $33k. They told us they will give us a check in hand but we had to wait for the pink slip. So we waited a month for the pink slip and sent them all of the paperwork they said they needed. The person who I spoke with did NOT say he was in Watsonville. We were talking about Salinas. So I drove the truck with all paperwork to Salinas Ford and my heart drops when we get there and they say that no one by that name works there. I tried calling the person with no luck. He calls me back and I said they said no one by that name works here. He said he supposedly sent me his business card, I checked auto-trader and text messages and I said nope you never sent me your card and I even said I'm my way to Salinas. He said that the business office isn't open so we couldn't get the check until Monday. I reminded him he told me yesterday they would have the check ready for us. So someone else calls me and tells me we have to transfer the truck to my moms name then bring it in. My dad passed away and the pink slips were in his name. I told him that we already sold 5 vehicles through the dmv and all we have to do is she signs and writes "the widow of....." and thats it. No way in hell we are gonna wait another 6 weeks for a pink slip in my moms name when we sold 5 other vehicles w no issues especially since this place has been nothing but wishy washy and we have turned down other offers because they said they would buy it and I told them weeks ago the whole thing read more

Bottom Line: Watsonville Ford Service - Best of the Best! We brought our 2017 Ford Edge Sport into the Ford dealer we've used since the mid-1990s to have the engine replaced (75K miles), but this experience was a disaster. The service department was backed up, and we were told that it would take about 4 weeks for the repair to be completed, which was OK with us at the time. But after sitting at this dealer from the end of October (2023) until mid-December with no end in sight and with no proactive communication from the service department, we retrieved our car and took it to Watsonville Ford. At Watsonville Ford, the supervising service advisor Adolfo and the service manager Chuck arranged to start the repair the next day! They frequently contacted us regarding the status of the repair. We had fortunately purchased an extended service contract from MPP Co. (highly recommended), and Adolfo and Chuck worked with them to ensure that our claim was expeditiously processed. It was a great pleasure working with them - they represent the highest level of excellence in customer care, and last but not least, our Edge drives like new. read more

I worked with Jorge to purchase my new truck. He was great and very accommodating through the entire purchase. I live far from the dealer, and the vehicle I wanted was in very high demand, so Jorge sent me the link to fill out the credit application from home so I could get priority for purchasing it. I was able to come in to the dealer the next day to sign all of the paperwork. Unfortunately I was not able to pick up the truck the day I signed, because it had not yet been inspected. I wasn't made aware of this in advance, so I had to come back the following day, and make the long drive 2 days in a row. I definitely could have just signed everything the day was truck was ready. However, they were kind and put enough gas in my old car's tank to get there and back because of the inconvenience. Jorge saw the process through, helped me get the FordPass app set up, and even called the day after I brought the truck home to make sure everything was going well.
