I dropped off both a snow blower and lawn mower which both needed service. Both got fixed in a reasonable amount of time (1 week when I went), the charges were in line with typical small engine work. They delivered both back to my home for a small fee as well, which was a nice option. Will definitely be taking my items back there for future work. read more

I called ahead to confirm they service my equipment before heading there. When I arrived 30 minutes later I was turned away because they don't service that equipment. Excuse me? No alternatives suggested; just turned away. I will not be returning based on this single interaction. Very odd. As a new business in the metro, I'd suggest engaging the customer about the issue, offering to take a look at it anyway, then up selling me to a new one. I was ready to buy a new one. I took my snowblower in for a tuneup, fix a tire (which they were supposed to fix last year and it didn't hold), and fix a throttle. When I dropped it off I discussed buying a new snowblower from them so they called and told me the repair cost was approximately $250. I have an older snowblower so I just said "no" I'll buy a new one so no work was completed. When I went to pick it up they said it was $45 to look at it and when I questioned the fee the gentleman pointed to a sign on the wall that a minimum labor fee of $45 is charged, so I guess it's his right to determine an estimate =labor. I probably would've had a better feeling of paying $250 for work for than $45 for nothing... as such it will be my choice to spend my $1200 for a new snowblower elsewhere. read more

I stopped in there a couple weeks ago, they told me they were 2 weeks out on servicing my push mower so I had them put me on the list. They called me yesterday and said they were ready for me and would have it done in a day or so. I loaded my mower up took it in and asked them if it will be done tomorrow they then told me no it will be at least a week before we get to it. Completely wasted my time read more

This week I was given the greenlight to purchase a new mower after my wife mowed the lawn and found out our mower did not self-propel any more. I stopped at was Waukee Power Equipment to check out their selection. I met the owner Mike and explained to him my problem, he suggested before I purchase a new mower to try adjusting the self propel cable. I went home and tried adjusting the cable to no avail.. I called Mike back to see if they if they had cables in stock he suggested before ordering parts to bring it in for him to take a look at to see if that's the problem. I loaded up the mower and took it up to Waukee power within 10 minutes. Mike pulled it out took a look determined it was not the cable and thought it might be the transmission or the wheels, he suggested he take it in the back and look at the wheels he came out with two new wheels on the mower for a much cheaper fix than a brand new mower, aside from the self propel issue the mowers in great shape. Mike saved me several hundred dollars with a simple fix, the mower now runs better than ever. I'm confident we'll get another year or two out of the mower however when it does go out I will most definitely be going back to Waukee power to replace it. Mike has won over my business, and that's a difficult thing to do. I wish more businesses followed his example of doing right by the customer! read more
