PLEASE AVOID ZULMA!!! She may be a long-time hairdresser at this salon but she does NOT know how to give a proper haircut. I went in on Sunday to get my daughter's first haircut. I used come here to get my haircut when I was younger, so I thought a familiar hair salon would be the safest bet. I came as a walk-in and was attended by Zulma. She was friendly and seemed confident enough to cut my daughter's hair. Right from the get-go, I got a weird vibe when I saw she didn't even bother to brush my daughter's hair before trying to braid it and snip those first locks I wanted to keep. Although a sense of unease settled in, I pushed forward, trusting in her expertise. Shockingly, in roughly 15 minutes, she said the haircut was done. My initial glance at the result was utter dismay, but I masked my emotions to avoid distressing my sentimental daughter who was feeling sad about losing the length of her hair. I didn't want to complain and upset my daughter further, so I just paid - i didn't tip, I didn't say thank you or goodbye. The next day, after I brushed my daughter's hair, the hack-job was totally noticeable. I called to complain right away and request a refund which was granted immediately after I sent pictures. Initially, I wasn't going to write a review because they were decent enough to return my money. However, after some thought, I think potential customers have the right to be warned against using this lady (especially if you're bringing your kid here). Zulma is going to ruin this salon's reputation and make it lose clients. Even if there are other wonderful and talented hairdressers here, I will never know because Zulma has ruined my opinion of this salon. read more

She always knows what I need and does such a fabulous job getting me there while also keeping my hair healthy. I went in to brighten up my with some partial highlights, and root touch ups to cover up my grays. During the process she gave me the best hair spa treatment! They workers are very judgmental and nosey. Right when you come in they give you stares and looks that feel very judgey. And they are very old school and don't do hair that are popular nowadays. I've only came here to see Yadi which she's a very good hair stylist, but unfortunately she doesn't work there anymore she works at Sola Salon Studios and before I went to her, I kept asking to where she works multiple times and they did not want to give her info to which a lot of the clients went just because of Yadi. read more

I've been to waves twice now and have had a great experience each time! Friendly stylists, quality haircuts, and very time / cost efficient! I went in for a trim today because i had noticed a few split ends on my hair. I had never gotten my hair cut here before but my roommate had. I had gone with her before and liked that she had gotten a nice cut for about $13. I had my hair cut by Irma, idk if there is more than one but this one had curly hair, nice lady. She cut my hair dry, which is usually what i ask for anyway. I liked that she didn't cut more than i asked for and although she was quick, she made sure my layers were even. I was a little surprised when she charged me about $19 for the trim but I thought maybe it was because I have longer hair than my roommate or maybe each stylist charges differently. I'm not sure but overall, I liked the outcome. I will probably be coming back to get my next trim just because any other salon i go to and ask for a trim, they always chop off way too much. read more

This little gem of a salon is fantastic! I've been coming here for years. The stylists are great, the services are affordable, and best of all, it's within walking distance of my apartment! I've had my hair done here on many occasions, most importantly for my wedding in 2011. They did such a beautiful job that I now come back anytime I need a beautiful look for an event. I also get my regular cuts here and also bring my daughter here. My little sister came to get her prom hair done here and they made her look like a princess!! I'm hesitant to say that Rosie is the best one here because I want to keep her for myself! She is so friendly and always does a fantastic job on my hair. If you get a completely botched haircut, prepare to receive NO money back at all. I asked for short layers and to keep the length and I ended up getting the ENTIRE front and sides of my hair chopped off above my shoulders!! The only length was in the back so I ended up with two completely separate hair cuts. The only way it looks decent is if i pull all my hair to the front. I get my hair cut here every 6 months for about 3 years. I always get a different stylist and they have all done a great job! No appointment needed, you just walk in and they either take you right away or you wait a few minutes. Their prices are so low! They don't wash your hair which is why they charge less. Went in for highlights, showed the picture of how I look with fresh highlights. 1st time she rinsed my hair the toner was so thick my hair looked blue, 2 time she washed my hair it looked brown with blue. She told me it will rinse out. Don't get me wrong, Maria was nice but I think when you pay $120 you should be able to show a picture of your own hair and they should be able to do it. Highlights, blonde, not mousy brown. The lady in the front asked me as I paid if I would like to leave the tip on the card... seriously?????? I'm leaving in TEARS and you think I'm going to leave a tip??? I'm from the old school where the salon should never let you leave upset. I went to Waves Hair Salon and I'm not sure of the woman who cut my hair, but she did such an amazing job of fixing what my last hair dresser messed up and not only that - it ONLY cost $15!!!! I ended up giving her double that because I was so amazed that someone with her talent was charging such a low price.
