She is friendly, but not overly-chatty (this is a huge plus for me... being a captive audience, I dread getting into awkward overly-personal conversations while getting beauty services). Shawna is also meticulous about her work. Technician is how I would describe it. By which I mean she obviously well-trained, lazer-focused, and invested in perfecting her service. Since she is basically a one-woman business, she is easiest to coordinate with via text! The location of the shop can be a little tricky to find, it's in a sort of weird shopping mall that looks from the street like a condo park to me. Was just there for a walk in brazilian wax. It took 15 minutes just for someone too come out and greet me. Even then, when Shawna came, she didnt address me.. just gave me a judgmental look and walked off with a customer who was before me. 15 min later the same thing happens. 15 more minutes and she FINALLY asks me if i had an appointment. I explain that i tried but noone answered. She condescendingly explains that i couldnt get waxed if i didn't have an appointment. Her outdated website says nothing about no walk ins. I never even got to see her. I scheduled an appointment days in advance, even though she wasn't very friendly. The night before my appointment, she text at 6:45 to confirm my appointment, only to turn around at 10:45 to cancel because school was canceled the next day. She never even offered to reschedule. When I asked to see if I could, she said there was no other time unless she could get her sister over there, whatever that means. Never offered a different day. She couldn't have been less concerned. I have a moderately high pain tolerance and didn't take any pain relievers beforehand, and I didn't think it was too bad at all, especially with how quick she was about it. It's so easy to schedule appointments and she's always super easy when it comes to cancelation and rescheduling (I've had to do both several times). I made the mistake one time of going to a big wig salon and paid twice as much, it was 3 times more painful, took 3 times as long and I went home and discovered there was still patches of hair.
