Make reservations! There are 2 gals that run this place. Rebekah is the person that I've always gone to - she is really quick (like 15 minutes). I love that she chats with you during your session and tries to make laugh (so you forget about the pain). . However, note that there is only 1 room and they offer a variety of services - so you definitely need to make reservations in advance. The spaces book up fairly quickly, but they have a super easy online booking system - so you can easily update if you have to make last minute changes. Also be sure to write down the pin - you'll need it access the building as they are on the top floor. read more

She can wax my eyebrows like no one else, and she makes getting a brazilian or bikini wax a pleasant experience. She is thorough and takes pride in her work. First, I'd like to thank all you girls for your reviews, it helped me feel alot more comfortable getting my first wax down there and hearing your feedback i felt at ease going to Waxing Moon Spa. i just had my first Brazilian wax which was done by Ileah and it went alot better than I expected! I got my brows done by Ileah and she was fantastic! She was very careful about making sure that my brows were done to my liking and weren't thinner than I wanted. She had such a light hand and made the waxing very painless. I have sensitive skin and typically get tear-y eyed during brow waxing or thread, but not this time! I have seen Ileah every 4-6 weeks for the past year. I have not found a better deal at a waxing salon EVER. I have a lot I like to get rid of and at salons in California (where I moved from) you have to pay extra for every little area. A brazilian quickly doubles in price. At waxing moon, I get a COMPLETE and comprehensive service that is quick, easy and very affordable. There aren't a lot of frills. The building is older, the decor isn't posh....but why should I care when the service is friendly and I am out of there (smooth and clean!) in about 20 minutes? I'd recommend (and have) waxing moon to anyone who isn't stuck on aesthetics. read more

I just went here for the first time and had a great experience with Ileah. I personally found the directions super straightforward, and they send a confirmation email before the appointment just to be extra sure you know where you are. This was my first experience with soft wax for a Brazilian, and while it does twinge a little more it's over a smaller area, so it kinda evens out. I just moved into the area and needed a new waxing place. After reading Yelp reviews, I decided to check this place out! Booking online was quick and easy and there was a wide variety of options available although I was only booking a couple days out. The suite is small and the building is old. Despite this it's clean and cozy-- and it had a/c which was a definite plus since it was hot out! The washroom was a public one down the hall, but it was nice and clean. The services that I received, eyebrow and extended bikini wax, were quick, not unnecessarily painful, and decently priced! I'll be back! read more

I know what you must be thinking: one bad review out of so many 5-star reviews - what gives? So hear me out. I booked my appointment online and followed the detailed instructions I was given to access the spa at their new location. I arrived on time and called the spa's number, as per the instructions in the confirmation email I received. No answer. Within the email, the spa explained their recent difficulties with their front door. Apparently the building's owner had changed the locks and the spa has to manually open the door for customers. The email instructs the following: "If you find I am unable to answer the phone it means I am in the treatment room, which unfortunately means I can't answer the phone. I am in the process of figuring out a solution to a beyond frustrating problem and hope you will understand if you do end up waiting a bit, it most likely be no more than 10 minutes, and feel free to slip in if someone opens the door, you are doing nothing untoward and the door to the spa's studio is always open." So I waited. I called two more times. No answer. I've been to the spa twice before and had a really great experience, so I was patient and waited my turn, figuring it would be worth it. After about 25 minutes of waiting, someone exited the door and I slipped in. I climbed the stairs and entered the spa's studio space. Rebekah greeted me with a puzzled look and asked for my name. She then proceeded to berate me for being late. I explained that I had called three times but she claimed the phone never rang. I showed her the call log from my phone and she confirmed that I was calling the correct number. I was refused service, though offered another appointment on another day. I understand the issues with the front door, but I cannot excuse the aggressive attitude that was directed at me nor the unapologetic nature of Rebekah's handling of the situation. It takes a lot of trust to allow someone to wax the most private parts of your body, and that trust is now completely gone. I will not be a returning customer. read more

Happy as a (naked) clam! I had never been waxed before and decided to bite the bullet. After reading all the rave reviews, I booked an appointment at Waxing Moon. As other reviews state, the place was a bit tricky to find. I pulled up the directions on my phone and had to review them a couple of times before figuring out where the place was. When I arrived, the small lobby was empty, and no one was around. I pulled up a seat and read a trashy magazine, and before long was welcomed by Ileah. I told her it was my first time, expecting a brief tutorial or a "well what I'm gonna do is spread some scalding hot wax on your-" but no. This was a good thing! Instead of walking me through the process and allowing me to dwell on the reality of hot wax on my vuh jay, she had me hop up on the table and just went to work. We talked about Game of Thrones for the next fifteen minutes. That's right: fifteen minutes. That is how long it took for her to do the entire shebang. Not painless, but pretty sure that's not possible in this business. Ileah was clean, efficient, and great at taking my mind off the task at hand. Pleased with the results! I'v recently moved here and have been looking for a place to handle my mustache, this thing had to go! I looked on Yelp for a bit looking for a well rated place, and found this spa. I had pretty average expectations of it, as long as all the hair is gone for around $10, then I am happy really. After I figured out the directions for this place, I entered into a really shabby "waiting room" there was no one at the desk and I stood there awkwardly for around 10 minutes before who I was assuming the woman who was working came out. She did not address me or even look at me. The person who was getting waxed came out, paid, and left, still no recognition from the woman working. Finally I said hello... and she said one minute. Whatever, I just need the hair gone I don't need a hug. Anyways, she brought me into the room, that looked like someones basement salon. sheet on the very hair table and a sheet covered chair. Also horrible lighting, which may be why I had this experience. Again, I just need the lady stash to go away, so I can look past it. She took like 1.5 minutes to wax it, and I thought dang she is good! Came home and there was a bunch of random hairs all over the place, spots totally missed. I pay someone to wax me so its done well, otherwise I would do it. Totally disappointed and I won't go back, I need it done right and hairless.. thats the point. read more

I love Rebekah!!!!! I usually try not to laugh when I have just removed my pants in the presense of someone new, but I couldn't help it! Somehow, she manages to make you completely forget that you have just walked into her "office," removed everything from the waist down and are giving her money to rip hair out of your most private areas. She keeps you laughing and chatting the whole time as if she didn't just ask you to flip onto your stomach and "spread your cheeks." And the work she does is amazing. So I said I would do this and I'm finally getting to it. I have been getting brazilian waxes for a couple years now, when I can afford it. After going through a lull I decided to take a look on Yelp to try to find a waxer that got good reviews and was in Seattle. That's when I found Waxing Moon. Okay, so I think it was a mix between searching on Yelp and Craigslist and when I saw the Happy Hour rates, I was game. My first time at Waxing Moon I had an appointment with Rebekah and it went really well. She made it really easy to endure (I have very thick and coarse hairs that can be a pain, literally, to remove) and it was a super quick appointment. She also was easy to talk with about different parts of my life and we ended up having some things in common. I left that appointment feeling really good and knowing I could go back and be really pleased with the results each time. Unfortunately I came upon bad financial times and couldn't continue going for awhile. Last month I decided it could fit into my budget again and I called to try to get in last minute on a Friday. Well, that didn't work out, which I kinda figured, but I got a call on Saturday morning about going in that day for an appointment. I was fine with that and made the appointment for that day. I knew someone else had made the appointment over the phone, but the last I knew Rebekah was the only one at the shop. To my suprise I came in and saw a cute girl behind the counter who greeted me happily when I came in. Come to find out, she was the one that was doing my appointment for the day. I was a little surprised, but thought - what the heck :). Turns out Jordan has been working at Waxing Moon for a few weeks and has taken over the weekend appointments. Jordan was great :). She took my hair off soo quickly I couldn't believe how little time had gone by. She also was very thorough, making sure all the hair came out and no strays were left behind. She even did a little extra area because she knew that I had thick hair that is difficult to get rid of. She was also a lot of fun to talk with and made the appointment run so smoothly. I have since gone back for my monthly appointment for better upkeep and will be glad to keep that in my budget for as long as I can to help Jordan keep working and stay at the salon. I hope that more clients who are a little apprehensive about going with someone other than Rebekah give Jordan a try. She's super nice and good at what she does. I told her after my first appointment that I would write a glowing review of her so she could be on Yelp too - and I'm glad to do that :). read more

Easy, quick, and affordable. You really can't beat getting a wax by Rebekah. She's super friendly and outgoing and will make you feel very comfortable. The spa is located in the 10th Ave building, which makes it a little difficult to find at first since there's not a big sign screaming "Waxing Moon Spa" outside on the street. As a bonus, Cupcake Royale is just down the street and makes for a great post-wax treat! read more

This review is waaay overdue, but better late than never... I could not agree more with all of the reviews on here!!! I went in for a Brazilian this summer when I was visiting home (I live in smog filled LA now). Rebekah is, hands down, the best esthetician I have been to! Unfortunately, I cannot say that I have found someone who is even 60% as good as she is since (and I've been to several places now)... She was not only fast (I was in and out in about 20min!) but super thorough, super personable and did such a great job that I felt very little pain. I have had a couple of bad experiences now, where I have walked out of a waxing place with pieces of skin missing (painful, let me tell you). After I got waxed by Rebekah, any skin irritation/reddness was gone within a few hours! She does a superb job of only putting on enough wax to get hair (and not chunks of skin). She is simply amazing and I plan on going back every time I'm up in the Seattle area! (ps anyone know of any decent waxing spa's in the LA/Southbay area??) read more

I am totally impressed and very happy with the service I just received. I have a trip coming up and of course I totally spaced planning a wax appt, did a little research and saw Waxing Moon reviews. I was able to book right online and able to get in day of. The location was really close to my bus stop as well. There isn't a parking lot just street parking if you drive. Gina did my wax and she did a great job, super fast and very little pain. I am extremely happy I even rebooked because they have a 10% off deal for rebooking for your next appt, and I really want to get on a proper waxing cycle. I typically go to the Asian nail salons to get my eye brows done. Wax on happened to be close by so I figured I would try them out. I was able to book right away and I don't have anyone getting mad at me for taking so long to get my eye brows waxed. Service: I got a Brazilian and was a little grown out, so she had to cut the hair. The service went pretty smoothly except I had wax on my foot, and knees, so the trimmed hair was stuck to my knees! I still had a patch of hair that extends up to my stomach that is usually just removed or is mentioned for my approval to remove, It was completely ignored. Afterwards, I was given the total at that time I'd asked if it cost extra to remove the small amount of stomach hair, and she said, that she usually includes it in the service, and that she didn't know that I wanted it gone, so then I pointed out to her how silly it was to have a bald virginia area and a patch of hair just above that, ...still wasn't offered. I also shared with her that I had wax on my foot, fixing those things would have made the experience smoother. She just said ok. All and all, no crop tops for me. I don't think is is a bad place, I prefer small business, it just seems that this particular employee is nice, but complacent, who knows she might be well off and doesn't need anymore clients. I would try a different esthetician and be extremely clear about my expectations next time, because I feel uncomfortable not tipping at least 30% for having deal with my hairy ass. So I guess my end emotion is discomfort. Location, ambiance: I would say its good enough, expect a small one to two person waiting room, and a personal feel to the one waxing room and that's good enough for me. There is construction just off the the side of the building so don't expect to find loads of parking. Cleanliness and sanitation: not all that impressed, I laid on a towel that had two wax stains on it. The trash can is without a lid, so every guest can experience the secrets of the guest before him/her. Specific care to keep me clean of my own discarded was not shown. Staff: This business is a one person operation which I don't mind, as she and I spoke about it keeps cost down. I found that she was friendly over all. read more
