I wanted to come on and do an honest review of Waxing The City, off of Stockton Avenue. My first impression of walking into the salon is it looked fresh and new. They have lots of wonderful products displayed on one wall and comfy seating on the other side. The first person I met was the owner of the salon.. she was so nice and welcoming, and I really had a lovely time talking to her, as she also showed me some of her popular products.. I also liked that they had lots of sample bottles so that you can touch smell or check out an item before you make the purchase. Since I worked in retail for almost 30 years, I know how important it is to greet, smile and listen. My first impression of the salon was very very good.. When my waxing artist came out to greet me and bring me to the room for my service. I instantly felt comfortable with her as well.. My artist was Kristy. I mentioned to her how gentle that wax was... I usually would just do my lip and my eyebrows. But I wanted to try something new, so I did my full face and eyebrow tinting... Kristy was amazing. She had such gentle hands that she pretty much finished my whole face without me having to wince or regret coming to do Waxing lol. I used to go to another salon years ago so I really haven't done Waxing in a while, but man I am sold... she did such an amazing job and had such gentle hands that I've already booked my next session with her. My eyebrows are tattooed, but it's been definitely starting to fade so I wanted to try out eyebrow tinting to see if it's something that I could do instead of tattooing them again.. She kept my shape perfect and yes, it's really dark right now, but she warned me that the first day or so that it's the darkest and then it'll lighten up which I don't mind at all.. it just feels good to have nice dark Brows again. Completed my third visit to Waxing the City and my cerologist for my full leg wax was Raine. She was knowledgeable about the services and products but what stood out to me most was her genuine care for her clients. She realizes that these services are not a "one size fits all" and is looking to provide a tailored approach based on client age, skin conditions, lifestyle, etc. She vets any product she recommends so she's able to offer alternative options to meet customer expectations and adjust her procedures as needed. She used soft wax for my legs and knew exactly when to remove it for optimal results with the least discomfort. That can be tricky! The business and rooms are tidy and immaculate. This was my first visit to any Waxing the City location and I had a very good experience. This is a brand new location that's only been open a few weeks; it's incredibly clean and looks great. I booked an eyebrow and lip wax together through their online booking system which was straightforward. Evelyne met me at the front, had me fill out a few forms and then brought me to a treatment room to do my waxing service. The treatment bed was comfortable and able to be adjusted by the waxer. I found the overall vibe to be clean, comfortable and more relaxing than your typical European Wax Center. Evelyne was amazing, very thorough and clearly passionate about her work. Definitely one of the best waxes I've had in a while! They use hard wax and I found the application effective and not too painful. There's street parking and a garage a few doors down, it's a busy area so give yourself a few extra minutes to acquaint yourself. They're doing a 50% your first wax promotion until March 31 as part of their opening. I'll definitely be back! read more

Madie was AMAZING and so accommodating!! I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a near painless wax experience. She went out of her way to constantly reassure me and make me feel super comfortable. I've honestly never had an experience as good as this, and I've gotten waxed multiple times before. Madie was so welcoming, she told me about their membership which sounds great! if you're planning to go every month I highly recommend it, it gives you a little discount. Would definitely not be giving my services to this business. I signed up for a free wax. I arrived at my appointment and they told me I needed a card on file. I didn't have my card so they proceeded to waste my time and wait 10 minutes to tell me that. Super disappointed in this business as it took me 30 minutes to get there. read more
