I was looking to get a Brazilian and took to Yelp to find a good place that wasn't too pricey and I came across Wax It All. I noticed that it had such great reviews and taking in all the information and tips I decided to give it a try. I booked my appointment through Style Seat which was easy and convenient and there was a first time visit option which was $21 for a Brazilian, you can't beat that. It is conveniently located on Camden right off the freeway in the cute Head To Toe Salon. Walking in was pleasant the place was very nice, staff was very welcoming. Sokie was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable and right at home. Her waxing room was so cute, nice decor, very clean and had a home-y feel (if that's even a word lol). Sokie made the experience very pleasant, she was very professional and very thorough which is a huge plus especially when you are laying there letting it all hang out. I have had a Brazilian once before but it was nothing like what I experienced here. She uses hard wax which does not require a strip and is a lot easier on the skin, it was a lot less painful then expected. She made sure everything was completely bare, not one hair in sight!! I will absolutely be coming back to Sokie for future waxes and recommend here to all. read more

Ok, so I'm gonna take a beating for this review...a dude writing a review for a waxing place - ouch! Yes, it's true, I don't like hair on my back. I decided to give Wax it ALL! a try since it's minutes from my office (great lunchtime activity!) Sokie is a very nice young lady who is a real pro. I watched in amazement as she spread the wax around and gently removed it. I was surprised that it did not hurt as badly as past wax jobs I've experienced. Picked up a Groupon. Sokie gets the job done, I'm very pleased with her work. How it goes down, you walk into the salon and let the person behind the desk know who you are there to see. Sokie calls you into the room, while she prepares the wax, you undress behind her. Kind of awkward, because others will step out and give you something to cover yourself with, re-entering when you are ready. Here, you need to be ready to bare it all. LOL. I have read both the good and bad experiences on here and I bought two Brazilian waxes on groupon anyway... I'm glad that I did... Others may not be too happy with customer service because Sokie is very different from other salon owners. Sokie gets straight to it. She doesn't welcome you with a fake smile or ask you how's your day going.. She gets you in and out fast with no b.s. And I don't necessarily see that as bad customer service at all, unless you get your feelings hurt easily. She waxes super quickly which can be both painful but actually less painful because it's over so fast! It all depends really on what you want.. If you want to talk about how your life is going through a 30 min Brazilian wax, then Sokie is not for you. If you want to get seamlessly waxed in 15 mins, while listening to whatever jam is on the radio and not have to talk (like an antisocial introvert like myself)- then Sokie is for you. read more

I saw Sokie for a manzilian and body wax (as a cyclist I've found getting rid of underarm, chest and abdominal hair makes cold and hot weather clothes fit and breathe much better) for the first time today. To be honest, when I saw how young she was I almost walked out. I'm very glad I stayed. She was friendly and professional. Took great care of me. I have been coming here about 6 times now, and love it. I was recommended this waxing parlor by a close friend, and I'm so happy that I found them. Laura is so wonderful, and very good about managing pain, it was a pleasure to see her and I'm going back soon! Sokie is extremely knowledgeable and experienced as well, with great personality and no nonsense attitude about her. Her makeup line that she sells as well is well worth it too, a truly great product that I plan to buy more of now that I tried her Lipsense long lasting lip stick. Came here for the 1st and got a Brazilian wax done by Laura and she's honestly the best! I haven't gotten a Brazilian wax done in a while, but she made the process very quick easy. The location of the building is pretty tricky to get to, it's near a residential area by a busy street so I would suggest to keep a look out because it's kinda hard to find. Overall, I had a great experience and I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a last minute wax just make sure you call in advance to see what appointments are available that day! read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service experience. Extremely unprofessional, rude, and honestly does not know what they are talking about. I went to another spa after this and I had an AMAZING (and very much painless) experience. Don't bother coming here. There are PLENTY of great places that offers great Groupon deals in the area. A lot of other places also offer complimentary touch ups! I booked an appointment here to get a Brazilian wax. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a very cold receptionist whom I believe is Sokie. People weren't kidding when they say she doesn't greet you with a fake smile or ask how your day is going. She is just plain rude. She asked me when was my last shave or wax to which I replied about a week or two ago. She said it is too short of a time to get a wax and the growth needs to be at least 3-4 weeks. I said actually my hair is not short at all. I double checked my calendar and realized that I actually shaved it more than 2.5 weeks ago (19 days to be exact). Pretty close to 3 weeks and my hair grows quite fast. She said that if I do get it waxed, the hair will grow back within a day or two and then I would need to shave again (which actually I SHOULDN'T do as recommended by another esthetician and my friends because it would grow back thick again). I said well that's okay because it will still grow more scarce than what I have to deal with right now. She said no, majority of it will grow back in a day and that I would have to shave again. She told me there is no point in doing it. A DAY?! Is this really how waxing works?!?!? She also didn't even bother checking how long my hair was. By this time, I no longer wanted to convince her to wax me. I felt extremely uncomfortable with her and definitely had no intention to strip down in front of her. In the end, I said well, okay, perhaps, it would be nice if you put a disclaimer before your clients make an appointment so I don't come all the way out here to just be disappointed. She LIED and said well I do have something on the website about this. I double checked when I got home. There ISN'T. She said well if you called, I'm sure one of us would have told you. WELL, I called SEVERAL TIMES and no one picked up so I had to make my appointment online. In any case, I booked an appointment somewhere else after and the esthetician there said my hair is definitely long enough. She go by length (quarter of an inch or longer instead of number of weeks which makes so much more sense considering different speed of hair growth on different people). I told her my entire experience at Wax it All and she was flabbergasted. In summary, Wax it All was 1. Rude 2. Unprofessional 3. Gave me wrong information and unsound advice without obtaining all information 4. Lied about having information on their website when there isn't. Or if it is, this very important informationis in some remote place that is in tiny print where the majority of the clients won't even look. Oh, and they didn't even apologize. No thanks. read more

SOKIE IS THE BEST!! Trust. I was seeing Sokie back in 2012-2013 at EWC. She literally is the best esthetician I have everrrr experienced! I've seen over a dozen different waxers after Sokie left that location, and seriously NO ONE has the waxing technique like Sokie's. I had to stay at EWC because I bought the wax passes, but even the many highest rated estheticians on Yelp I experienced can't even compare to Sokie. What makes her the best is that her Brazilian waxes are sooo fast and pain-free. Before starting, she'll clean up the area and apply baby powder. She uses the hard wax, so it's less painful than the strips. She always makes sure the temperature of the wax is ok after the first application, which I really appreciate (ain't no one trying to get a wax burn down there!!). In areas that are sensitive, she instructs you when to breathe in/out at the perfect time, and applies pressure so you don't feel that stinging after effect. When she's done waxing everything, she'll go in after with tweezers to get EVERY. SINGLE. HAIR! She makes sure when we're all done to clean off any leftover hard wax. When I was seeing her, I was in and out of the salon in 15 minutes or less. I actually timed it one visit, and the fastest I was done was in 7 minutes! I just saw Sokie recently after 4 years since she left EWC, and I'm sooo happy I finally found her again! Same technique, and same happy Trisha walking out of the salon since 2013. I'm now mad at myself for not finding her sooner lol! The location is a bit far from where I live, but she's worth the commute. She also offers Groupon deals and wax passes. I have had a very tough time finding a place to wax the inside of my nose to get all those horrible nose hairs out. They need to have a special kind of wax and this place has it. Sorry. Nope. Can't do it. I've been doing the Brazilian thing for yeeeeeaaarrrrrs, and I've never, ever been so sore for days after a wax. She does giant, enormous strips. Takes about 5 minutes. Leaves too many strays. Also says "Take a deep breathe in..........breathe out" before ripping. Lol, I'm grown, don't need anyone telling me when to breathe! But I guess people like it, she's got good reviews otherwise :-) Is there any good, thorough waxer in SJ that can allot a good 20-25 mins for a good Brazilian? I'll literally pay anything!! Update: one month later and still dealing with the resulting ingrown hairs, which previously have not been a problem for me. By far my WORST wax experience in 15 years. read more

I went to Laura because my normal girl that I go to was gone on a long vacation. I have had some horrendous experiences waxing, so once I find someone, I stick with them until they no longer wax or I move etc. so I was a little reluctant to go to a different salon and "cheat" on my normal girl. Absolutely loved Sokie's customer service. She was sweet, straight forward, chill, and fun to talk to. The experience, however, wasn't my cup of tea. I went in for a Brazilian wax a few weeks ago, expecting to have a smooth experience like I have in the past (it wasn't my first time getting one). I have dry and sensitive skin because of my eczema; Sokie called it out and I knew. She used hard wax (which I've never used before during a Brazilian) and after she finished, she applied her peppermint oil to hydrate the freshly waxed area. She said that it wouldn't irritate my skin because it was all natural and should be okay with my eczema. However, when I got to my car, it stung like crazy! I got red bumps and everything was irritated for a couple of weeks. The smell of the oil stuck with me and man, it's hella strong. I admire how she tried to take care of me by giving me advice on how to take care of myself after the wax, but I'm a bit traumatized. Sokie, that oil isn't compatible with everyone like you think it is.. But if you guys don't have sensitive skin like I do, please give her a chance. She's super sweet and down to earth. PS- if you read this before going there, don't accidentally walk into the nail salon like I have. She has a room inside the hair salon (on the opposite side of the nail salon). So if you're standing in front of the building, it's on the left side. She has her own private room. Trust me, I got lost lol read more

Sokie is amazing!! Best Brazilian of my life, she is super chill, professional and friendly. I don't know how she does it but she manages to make you feel comfortable while your laying on a table spread eagle. The salon is clean and she is very hygienic (no double dipping). She is very efficient, wax's you up and pulls out the tweezers to get any strays. I have to say I was disappointed in how my eyebrows came out. I bought a Groupon for a Brazillian - and it was awesome. My usual person ended up closing her business, so I ventured to Sokie's waxing studio for a last minute wax. She was super quick (only about 15 minutes), and very detail-oriented. She even got any stragglers with tweezers, and took care of an ingrown. Only thing was that she didn't introduce herself - I told her I was there for "wax it all", and she just lead me to the waxing room without even saying that she was the one who would be performing the service nor introducing herself. 2nd time coming here! This is definitely my new waxing place. Felt comfortable, no BS conversation. Very straightforward and gives me the info/tips that was very helpful. I love the kit that she sells, it's more expensive than other washes I've used, but it has definitely helped with the ingrown hairs while exfoliating the rest of my body. I don't know what the other bad reviewers are talking about, but she doesn't use big strips, even busted out her tweezers to clean up what the wax strip missed. Love how she tosses the stick into the trash and makes it every single time. Took me 20 minutes to get in and out of this place. I walked in with a single Groupon deal for Brazilian and ended up getting a six session deal!! The experience with Sokie has been very pleasant till now. She is a thorough professional and knows what she does. As other people have already posted she is the silent type but I'm cool with it because I want my Brazilian done as quickly as possible. I'm in and out in exact 20 mins and I have been happy with the results. The place is quite and cozy and her room has a calming vibe. The hard wax she uses is really good and she always checks on me to know if the wax temperature was okay. The breathe in breathe out advice she gives while working on tough spots during Brazilian actually works for me. I live pretty far from her place but I prefer coming back to her once my six session Deal is done!!! I have still not tried eye brow waxing or any other body part waxing with Sokie but would definitely love to try in the future!! read more
