It wasn't busy when we went but it had a good atmosphere. There's a jukebox (TouchTunes), a decent beer selection, and they make a good Bloody Mary. It was pretty clean for a bar and the stage setup looked nice - we look forward to going back to see live music at some point!

This place (conjoined with Up the Hill Grill) remains consistently in the top two burger spots of Ramona. One of my favorite things to order here is the Maple Bourbon Bacon Burger. Half pound patty with melted smoked cheddar, crumbled bacon, finished with a maple brown sugar glaze and flamed aged bourbon, topped with "frazzled" red onion and jalapeño. It was the perfect blend of sweet & spicy. Some bites even had a great candied texture. I've never tasted anything like it. A very unique and original burger creation. Way Point Saloon also has the most impressive onion ring tower I've encountered! What stands out for me is how hot & crispy they come out of the kitchen coupled with an outstanding fry sauce. The rings here are beer battered and definitely in the top two of Ramona when it comes to onion rings. 23 draft beers on tap is a pretty good draw too! Best bar spot in Ramona for live music every Friday and Saturday nights. Sound here is top shelf.

Visited 1/25/2018 What a great Happy Hour. All appetizers are half price for happy hour. Crazy bacon stuffed jalapeños poppers are amazing. That Korean chicken wings are also extremely tasty. This place has a full well-stocked bar and Marisa the bartender was fabulous and very friendly. The beer was frosty cold and the appetizers were a great deal at 1/2 price. All the food from Up The Hill Grill is available in the bar. Friday and Saturday nights they have live music. The Burgers are the best in Ramona. I Will Return.

My very first legal drink ever was a "Liquid Marajuana" here made by Danielle who I forever love for that! The new barkeep had never heard of the drink but was very eager to look up the recipe on her nifty bartending app to attempt it for me when I came back again. Of course it wasn't the EXACT same as I remembered the first time (can anything compare to your first magically legal drink?) but I do appreciate the extra effort! I am sure they are now more focused on their revamped drink menu which includes new signature drinks  "Bourbon Blueberry Pie" and "Rayne Peach".  "Way Point Saloon" formerly known as "Molly Malones" (locals continue to pay homage to the OG name) was featured on an episode of Bar Rescue during Season 4, episode 32 "Shamrocks & Shenanigans". This can be found on the Spike TV Website or listed below; https://www.paramountnetwork.com/episodes/dsypwi/bar-rescue-shamrocks-and-shenanigans-season-4-ep-32 SPOILER ALERT: After reviewing the episode I am relieved to know there were no disgusting issues associated with the kitchen. (Makes sense or they'd have Gordon Ramseys "Hells Kitchen" on their asses!) One problem was that their drinks were "Too strong"...which is all I could ever ask for in a bartender. Also, "Too much bacon"...another thing I could only hope for in a chef! They are not skimping on these items either per the advice they received, which I totally agree with of course.  FOOD: The same kitchen connects both "Up the Hill Grill" & "Way Point Saloon" which is an interesting dynamic for depending what time of mood your in. The "Avacado fries" are definitely not made with the same type of love as my friends used to whip up when they were both chefs here. They are now just called "fried avocado" & there's a reason for that...LACK OF FLAVORING! First time I tried them I was shocked at the depth of flavor I had experienced from the batter mix of; Club soda, Tempura powder dipped in crushed Funion chips! PLEASE go back to the preparation method the great Christine & Cameron once used...I can assure you as a customer they are 10 times better! They went from "Best I ever had" to "What a drag" real quick!  My craving for a bloody mary along with a bacon slider has finally been satisfied!  Both were amazing & the sliders come in an order of 3. However, I wish the option for a single order was avaliable to only get 1 slider. If I wanted a larger portion I would have just ordered an entire whole burger instead, make sense?  Similar to an appetizer with 1 slider accompanying the Bloody Mary attached to the kabob of assorted finger foods that comes in the drink on a skewer. I understand if that's not an order that is offered here & I can makeshift my own creation but it would've been nice not to have the excess sliders or effort to do so. This unique & aesthetically pleasing method of presentation may be a bit boujie for the likes of this town...but I'm sure it would be more of a modern HIT! I surely would appreciate not having to drive all the way down to SD to expierence this cool trend.  ATMOSPHERE: Old west gold rush theme is fitting for the town & not TOO much different than the original interior. They play some country songs but mostly throwback music that you would hear featured on the Rock 105.3 radio station. Overall it's a very laidback & homey kind of atmosphere here!   The new color scheme matches the "Stagecoach route" that once came through the Ramona. Roadhouse. Rustic decor has distressed wood & repurposed furniture that compliments the "Waystation" history of Ramona. New lighting inside emits comforting vibes from the dark atmosphere...but now has a less cobweb/dusty feel while still holding onto that old homey feeling that we all love! It is very dark inside but well lit with glowing red & blue lights, naturally very cool calming hues & are my favorite! Along with the outside sitting area that offers a wide variety of games to play (besides your typical pool which to me is not very coo!l) I feel right at home here with my friends house in walking distance being an added bonus from the usual problem I have going to bars "down the hill"! The owner Bob is super down to earth as well & will hold a conversation with you if engaged.   I highly recommend stopping by this new & improved location if you are passing through town to visit Julian which is another popular tourist attraction! This place will warm you right up after exploring the winter snow in the mountains another rarity for California. I know I will be back real soon to check out their Karaoke event hosted on Thursday nights at 8 PM! They also offer free pool on Sunday Evenings if your interested in that sort of thing.

When we saw the Julian Beer Company, we couldn't help but be drawn in for a drink and food! Before ordering, we had used their restroom which is located inside the coffee shop; super cute aesthetic! We went inside, not the first building, but the second building. We had grabbed a menu at the front and looked at what we'd like. We had chosen a few items and waited at the bar area. The man working there wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcomed. He was short with us, stared blankly, and didn't say a lot. There wasn't a greeting nor a nice transaction, since words weren't really exchanged. When we ordered, he didn't respond and there were long pauses. We felt quite judged and confused. We ordered anyway, and took a seat outside. We had ordered their IPA and their Japanese lager. For food, we ordered their cheesesteak, extra rolls, coleslaw, and their sausage. Their sausage was fantastic!! I loved every bite. Th with cheesesteak was also good and had a generous amount of cheese on top. Their beers nicely washed down the food on a warm day. After eating, we decided to waltz into the first building to look at their merchandise. Inside, a different man had greeted us with the biggest smile! He asked if we needed help, and gave us free stickers. He was very kind and made our day! I truly liked the city, beer, place, food, and the service that kind man had given to us. If we didn't have that interaction full of judgement, this place would be beyond five stars! Hoping it will be magnificent next time.

Great view, friendly service and we got entertained by wild turkeys running around the golf course. Both my friend and I went for the grilled swordfish tacos, and they were delicious! I'm usually not an onion fan but the pickled onions were perfect with the jalapeño cream sauce and the crushed peanuts added a nice bit of texture. The menu is kind of a basic all American menu, but there are a lot of things on there. I would definitely try when I return. I was a bit disappointed by the draft beer list. It's all IPA's and lagers, I think one red ale also, none of which is really my bag. It would be nice of them to round it out with a pale ale, wheat beer, or even a stout. Fortunately, they do have Corona in the bottle and that's always a safe bet.

Both the appetizers and entrées took a little longer than expected to come out, and we had trouble finding our waiter to check on the status of our order. When the food did arrive though, everything tasted great. The service was a bit limited during our visit, we were only checked on a few times and ended up going up to the bar ourselves to get drinks. Overall, it's a beautiful spot with a nice view of the golf course, and a good variety of food options for the Ramona area.

My husband and I came to The Spot for the World Cup Final and showed up around 10:45 AM to find a pretty long line already forming. When the doors opened at 11, we were greeted and promptly seated by a lovely woman named Kat. Right away, she kindly explained that because of how busy they were, we would need to continue ordering in order to keep our table. Completely understandable considering it was the WORLD CUP FINAL! We also noticed they had signage throughout the restaurant explaining the same policy, so expectations were very clear from the start. My husband and I own a restaurant ourselves, so we tend to notice the little things when we're out. We were both so impressed watching Kat run around the entire restaurant making sure everyone was taken care of, refilling waters, checking on tables, helping the staff, and jumping in wherever she was needed. And somehow doing all of it in heels! Since there were only two of us and we were seated at a four-top, they occasionally sat other guests in the two empty seats at our table. Kat asked us every single time if we were comfortable sharing before seating anyone, which we really appreciated. It was incredibly busy, so we completely understood them wanting to make use of every available seat. Our server, Ryan, was also wonderful and attentive, especially considering how packed the place was! At one point, we watched Kat have to ask the table next to us to leave after they had closed out their check and apparently planned on staying for the rest of the game without ordering anything else. They were extremely rude to her and even shoved the booth table as they were getting up, which was completely unnecessary. She handled the entire interaction calmly and professionally despite their behavior. As restaurant owners ourselves, we know how difficult situations like that can be, especially during a huge event when you have people waiting outside for a table. And the food!! We had their pizza and it was TO DIE FOR!!! Seriously so good. Between the food, the service, and how well the staff handled such an insanely busy day, we had a fantastic experience. Kat and Ryan were great, and we will absolutely be coming back to The Spot next time we're in town!

Rude server, not enough chairs…read more I went to Pitchers Sports Bar today to meet my son to watch the soccer game. We got there a few minutes early. There were a number of open tables but no chairs. Apparently some people had gotten there early and commandeered all the chairs. When the server came over to our table, I orders a beer and asked him if they had any more chairs. His reaction was one of disbelief, as if I was asking an unreasonable question. He said, "where would I be keeping all these chairs?" I said, "I don't know. Maybe you can tell me." He then walked away without taking my order. I had to chase him down and his attitude worsened. I asked him who he reports to and he said he reports to himself. He then told me I was about to make this day bad for everyone. I said I was just trying to order a beer and asked if you had more chairs and then you started giving me an attitude, and I don't understand why. Finally, he apologized and took my order. But this was really uncalled for. Firstly, they need to have more chairs Secondly, they should not allow people to take chairs from tables so that the rest of their patrons are standing up for three hours. Many of the people just had extra chairs that they were saving for I don't know who, but there were a lot of empty chairs The server could've told me that he was sorry that they were out of chairs, but a lot of people were saving them further could've asked people to give up their chairs that they weren't using. Instead, he tried to make me feel stupid for asking this question. It's my first time here and most likely my last. I'm really disappointed with the way I was treated here. The server was a middle-aged man with gray mohawk looking curly hair.
