This was SO GOOD after we hiked around in Anza Borrego. We stopped by Julian in hopes of good cider and apple pie, but we were shocked and amazed by the deliciousness of the BBQ at Julian Beer Co. We got a brisket sandwich, a pork belly sandwich, mac and cheese, and two flights. It was all PERFECT together. The mac and cheese is ooey, gooey, and toasty on top. The sandwiches are balanced with smoky eats, pickles, coleslaw, and a self-serve amount of barbeque sauce. It's all so beautiful. I think that they had such a great selection of beer as well, that even the flight was hard to choose because we wanted to try so many. We got two flights for eight different beers to try and it was still hard to pick. I would highly recommend this spot when in Julian.

They have a huge space right in the middle of town with multiple bars and places to sit. The staff at the front were super friendly and helpful. All the food was solid particularly the kielbasa and the macaroni. Definitely a fan of the Japanese lager, Assassin, and their house made cider.

Service was fast, vibes were high. Beer selection is good. Why is this rating so low? This is a BBQ establishment, but the brisket was DRY. It was dry on the pizza, and dry on the brisket sandwich. Do not recommend the bbq pizza.

After a long hike, we were starving and stumbled upon Julian Beer Co and boy did it hit the spot. The BBQ is delicious and they have a station to serve your own sauce, including ranch! As someone who often needs to purchase extra ranch, this was a dream! They were busy when we went with a line out the door but it moved fairly quickly and the food didn't take too long either. The inside was a little noisy as you could assume on a busy weekend day but don't worry, they have patio seating! We sat outside on the patio and were able to soak in even more mountain air as we ate. They also have ciders and seltzers in addition to beer, which were great gluten free options for me.

The pizza is fabulous. Thin crust. We did a "make your own" with artichokes, mushrooms and black olives. The only size available is large and it is HUGE!

I really enjoyed the beef brisket sandwich -- the meat wasn't shredded but served in thick, tender slices that were very flavorful and satisfying. For sides, I tried the elote-style corn and coleslaw. Both were just okay. The corn leaned a bit too moist for my taste, which muted the texture and flavor, but it was still decent. A line formed immediately when they opened, so arriving early was definitely the right move. Fortunately, they offer a QR code at the entrance that lets you order online and skip the line -- a huge plus during busy times. Seating is limited. Inside, there are two large communal benches, plus some bar-style seating on the porch and a single picnic table out front. Be prepared to share space or take your food to go if it's crowded.

Everytime I'm in the area, I have to come here to have the granddaddy pep pizza and their amazing ranch. The line is long sometimes depending when you come here. During the holidays, it's so busy that the lines are out the doors. It feels cozy inside during the winter and it definitely gives cabin vibes. There is limited seating inside and an outdoor patio with more seating. This place is a must stop if you're looking for good food!

My fiancé and I ALWAYS stop by Julian Beer Co. whenever we're camping at William Heise County Park or Laguna Campground. At this point, it's a tradition. The staff is dope and always in a good mood, and they dress dope too! The Grand Daddy Pep pizza is our go-to and the perfect pizza to share after a day outdoors. My fiancé loves the mead, and I'm a big fan of the Pistol Whipped brew. ALWAYS BUY THE KITCHEN A BEER!

Our go to BBQ spot in Julian. Delicious juicy BBQ, hot pizzas, fast and friendly service, great tasting beer selection and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, definitely can accommodate large parties. They do have a parking lot in the back of the restaurant for patrons only. If you do plan on visiting the town of Julian, there is plenty of street parking nearby. Bathrooms on site, which is a plus since a lot of the stores in Julian don't let you use unless you want to wait in a long line for the public restroom. Pet friendly! I do recommend the HUGE Dino rib! We have never been able to finish one and always end up taking leftovers home. Decent price point for food menu items and beer menu rotates every few weeks. Wear stretchy pants, grab a spot to dig in and people watch. You won't be disappointed and your appetite will thank you for it.

Fall is a lovely time to visit Julian.  The leaves are turning lovely colors and it is still shorts weather in the daytime.  Our favorite place to eat in Julian is Julian Beer Co.  Manager Garret greets us warmly as does friendly cashier Maghan who is always happy to see us. Wagyu burger was ordered with lettuce.  Wagyu was smoky and well seasoned.  Pretty good burger but I would like it even more with bacon and tomato. Pork belly had a crispy outer layer while the pork was tender and juicy.  Fat had rendered from hours of smoking and had a delicious flavor.  This is among my favorite pork belly ever. Cheesesteak was overflowing with beef brisket.  Excellent beef to bun ratio.  Loved the smoky flavor of the tender beef.  One of the best cheesesteaks I've tasted. Half chicken has crispy skin and full of delicious smoky flavor. We sit outside and watch the clouds drifting by.  Wind rustles the leaves in the trees.  Each month we look forward to our trip to the top of the world for the scenery, hospitality, and awesome food. Feels like home I should have known From my first breath And I thank you for bringing me here For showing me home, for singing these tears Finally, I've found that I belong here Home - Depeche Mode

Took the family for a 1/2 day trip to Julian. Seems like this is the top restaurant to try in the area. Been seeing rave reviews on the pizza and wish they had individual slices for other flavors and not just limited to cheese or pepperoni. Ordered the large caesar salad, BBQ ribs, wings. Definitely skip the wings, super dry! Large caesar salad tasted amazing (it's the fresh croutons). BBQ ribs were tender and done right.

JBC cheesesteak with tender ribs, cheesy mac n' cheese, jalapeño popper dip, chips, and fresh coleslaw.

Stopped by Julian Beer Co. and ordered a few things to share, and honestly everything hit the spot. The JBC cheesesteak was the star of the table -- super loaded, messy in the best way, and full of flavor. The pork ribs were tender with a nice smoky finish, and the mac n' cheese was hot, cheesy, and comforting. We also got the jalapeño popper dip, which had a good kick and went perfectly with the chips. Even the coleslaw was solid and well balanced. Portions are generous, so it's great for sharing, and the laid-back, rustic vibe fits Julian perfectly. Service was friendly and moved pretty quickly even though it was busy. Overall, a great stop if you're in town and craving hearty comfort food. I'd definitely come back.

We already got our pie fix at Mom's, but made this our last stop before heading out. It was so cold out, a super chilly day, there's nothing more perfect than to grab a hot cup of steaming Apple Cider! It hit the spot! I couldn't stop just standing there sipping my hot cider while waiting for our to go items to be prepared. We got two apple cider donuts, one cinnamon sugar and one chocolate dipped. Long ago, I tried these tiny heart shaped pie crust cookies covered in cinnamon and sugar - Apple Memories! These are crisp tiny bites of love that you want to take home every single time! There are actually two buildings. One where you can grab a bite to eat, the other has all the merchandise, and both have whole frozen pies to grab to go! The building where you can dine has a small inside dining area, it can get cozy in there, but on a chilly day, that is exactly what you want! Just outside there is plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the scenery. In the merchandise building I couldn't help myself... we took home a whole gallon of apple cider, and also bought a jar of Cinnamon Apple Honey Spread and a jar of Apple butter... absolute yum! The hubs also decided to try the apple cinnamon chapstick! Yes, you can grab one of these famous pies at many different establishments throughout San Diego. To make name a few, Iowa Farms, Spring Valley Market, Siesel's and even at Vons! The sandwiches were also very good, though the Ruben could have used a tad more sauerkraut to balance the flavors. The fries on their own are double fried or battered (or something along those lines) and have an incredible crunchy texture! We came on what I would consider a moderately busy day for Julian, I've seen Miner's Diner packed to the brim before. Our server, Kaylin or Kaitlin (I'm sorry about the spelling!) was amazing.
