Delicious! My husband and I came through town while on vacation and saw this place. The pizza is enough for probably 2-3 people and the burger and fries were perfect. Had dinner at Heroes when Jeremy's on the Hill was a full house for Valentine's Day weekend. I was bummed, but heroes saved the day! We got their Godfather pizza and Buffalo wings. Something to note is that they do not have apple cider which isn't updated on their menu! I do wish they did though or could source it another way. I liked their pizza, though my preference of crust is softer. Theirs is harder and crispier like a pretzel. We added garlic butter on the crust but didn't end up eating much of it because of it. Overall, there is a lot of seating throughout the restaurant, and you can sit outside as well. Service time does take a bit, especially because the pizza is wood-fired and it can get busy. Very nice place, the food was delicious in particular we loved the salad the "chopped mix salad" and the gluten free pizza, we appreciate that it was in the right term, the place is huge, they have a big staff and the food don't take that much to be served, their selection of beer is really good, they also have a huge menu of food, the only 2 things that I probably didn't not like was that everything is a little too pricey and that my chicken wings were undercooked which is also not so safe since chicken can carry many diseases. Oceania gave the best customer service today. My son got sick on the car ride and we stopped outside to get cleaned up. I went in to see if these "Heroes" sold shirts. Unfortunately they do not but the nice workers gave us things to help get cleaned up. Oceania lived nearby and ran home and brought a shirt back! Had we been hungry we definitely would have given them all our money in tips! The food looked and smelled good. We definitely are stopping by the next time we are in town! Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and it was about an hour wait in line to order! Staff also gave a heads up that if you order pizza, it'll be another hour before it's ready. We grudgingly went with our second pick of the menu: the burgers. We were really looking forward to the pizza but my oh my... We surprisingly enjoyed the burgers! I got the Shroom Burger and hubby got the Bangin burger. Both delicious. The best part? Burgers and app came out to our table within 15 minutes of ordering!! As opposed to pizzas which would've been an extra hour wait. ALSO, the lady that took our order at the front was so kind and sweet!! The cheeseburger was tasty and very filling for an adult appetite. They have the standard fountain drinks. There is a lot of outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating that is past the bathrooms. For vets they provided me a discount on the food. On busy days, the staff lets people know how long it will take. On weekends it does get busy here for lunch and dinner so get here early or take your patient pill. We have been going to Romano's Restaurant pizza for years, and I'll still go but you have to get there before the crowds. Came here for late lunch on a weekend in fall. The main part of Julian was absolutely crazy so we're glad we decided to come to this place! Big parking lot, good food, live music, and nice atmosphere on the patio. The only downside is that the line to order was pretty long. It took us 45 mins to get to the front of the line, but once we ordered the food was relatively quick! We saw lots of folks grabbing drinks from the drink barn first so they have something to drink while standing in line. We got 2 pizzas, a small salad, and appetizer to share among 3 people. It was slightly too much food and think we would have been okay skipping the app. The godfather pizza was tasty, especially with the garlic butter crust (extra $1). I liked the bianca pizza as well. Mozzarella sticks come with 8 and are normal/what you would expect. The chicken salad was VERY GOOD! Think regular chicken salad (walnuts, cranberry raisins, curry mayo, etc.) but with a bed of romaine to make it actual salad. The hand-pressed cider (non-alcoholic) was really fresh and good too. Lots of seating options and easy to find a table once you order. Both outdoor and indoor seating available. Came here on a Saturday evening and the line was out the door. We were starving and decided to wait it out. The line moved at a moderate pace. There was also live entertainment, so we enjoyed the music while we waited. The staff were all so kind. We ordered a salad and 2 pizzas. Keep in mind that the pizzas only come in one size. The salad was ok but the pizzas were delicious! There is plenty of searing throughout the main room, bar area, and outside. It is a bit of a race to get a table outside when there's entertainment since it's self seating. Wish there was some traffic control here considering the cost of the meal. Also, pro tip. No need to stop for a meal in the city center of Julian, battling the herds of tourists and squabbling over parking.. Heroes has PLENTY of parking and TONS of seating. they are even DOG FRIENDLY! There's a bar on the left and a counter-style restaurant on the right (order at the counter, get a number, and they deliver). Theres open-air seating in the middle. If you have more than 1 person in your group, it makes sense to cooperate and graduate, sending one person to either side to order food or drinks. I got the regular burger and a side of Greek pasta salad. the bun is soon tender and the special sauce is incredible. The burger is really juicy so once you pick it up, you may not be able to put it down. It was a great meal and a great location! read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Heroes in SantaIsabel is such a gem. First off, it's spacious--like you can actually breathe, stretch your arms, and still not knock over someone's drink (rare these days ). They have live music, which gives it the perfect cozy barn-style vibe. The food? Out. Of. This. World. Their wood-fired pizzas are seriously to die for--I had the chicken Caesar salad pizza and the smash burger, and let me tell you... I'd come back just for those. Actually, scratch that, I will come back just for those. Every pizza here deserves its own fan club. Bonus points: TONS of parking (hallelujah ), beautiful area right by Julian, and dog friendly!! Came here on a Saturday with a group of ~20 people after apple picking and I was impressed by the amount of space this restaurant has and how they were able to accommodate our entire group in the back of the restaurant! It was crowded and the line took a while around 2pm on a Saturday so be prepared to wait in line before getting your order taken. Ironically this is a pizza place, but everyone in my group that had ordered a pizza and something else agreed that the sandwiches and burgers were better than the pizzas. I personally only tried the hot honey chicken sandwich but it was one of the best hot honey sandwiches I ever had and I def recommend everyone try it. It's a big sandwich and the fries it comes along with are delicious. Do make sure to carry some sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer with you since the sandwich can get your hands VERY messy. This place had all of the bathrooms get shut down while we were there due to people flushing stuff they shouldn't have down the toilet unfortunately. So try to use the bathroom here before everyone else does or don't rely on using the bathroom here and maybe go elsewhere. Overall great food, large space, good customer service, large parking lot, only issue was the lack of restrooms. read more

It took almost an hour from ordering to getting our food. We ordered two pizzas - one cheese pizza with olive and a buffalo chicken pizza. They are 12" each so enough for four of us to share. Service was stellar, love the 70's vibe. We ordered a side salad with blue cheese dressing. It was enough for two. The dressing was delicious. My favorite was the Bianca Pizza. We requested a thin crust well done, sans Balsamic lemon oil. We were in a savory mood. Loved the pizza, the ricotta and sausage complimented the delicious crust. After a fair amount of searching, tasting, experimenting on my own, and leaps of faith, I might have finally found the perfect hamburger. I was heading home from Palm Desert to San Diego and decided I wanted to stop and have lunch and a beer. I pulled over to search on yelp for restaurants along my route. There were what appeared to be some really good choices but the one that' stuck out for me was this restaurant in Wynola called heroes. They offered woodfired pizzas, salads, chicken sandwiches, and hamburgers, amongst other things. I pulled in and was immediately struck by how much space there was both for parking and for outside seating. Restaurant is broken up into three areas, the area to the right is for counter service and inside dining, the building on the left is the bar area, also set up for dining, and in the middle is outside seating. I chose the bar. After pre-viewing the menu and having a discussion with the bartender about her favorites I decided on the Jammin burger and I'm glad I did. The burger built on a fresh brioche bun and generous ground beef patty, accompanied by lettuce, bacon jam and garlic aïoli. I ordered it cooked medium. You also have your choice of sides, fries, coleslaw, or salad. First of all the burger was delivered in a basket with a small soufflé cup of coleslaw, and the burger was huge, took up most of the basket. The burger had me at first bite, juicy to the point where it exploded with flavor and savory juices,. The garlic aïoli works perfectly in harmony with the bacon, jam and savory of the burger. Add the seeet and creamy Cole slaw and you have the perfect combo. I usually will only eat half of a sandwich that large and take the rest home, but I managed to want to keep eating and finish it off. I matched the meal with a local beer from a brewery called nickel, I had the Irish red. I also noticed that the restaurant was pet friendly as one of the patrons there had his dog by his side. That's a big deal for me because I love to bring my dog with me everywhere I go so glad to see this place was open to those conditions. They also appear to be very supportive of first responders and military, and I think might even offer a discount for those folks. The other thing I noticed which I really liked and would be a reason why I would wanna come back is The offering of live music on certain nights, most notably on the weekends, but I think may also offer Thursday and Friday nights. So, all in all I feel like I found my new next favorite spot and although it's a bit of a drive, I resolved to come back to explore the menu further And even going so far as to bring my entire family, including my grandkids. The ambience is chill and the vibe I pick up on was very comfortable. Congratulations to the ownership for building a good model one that should be talked about and shared. So I hope this review does just that. I would love to see a place like this do very well and be around for a long time. A really really bad experienced ! Quite the worst meal my husband and I have had In years. I ordered a chicken club sandwich. Lady taking the order told me there was no avo. My husband ordered a burger and fries. He was told the cook couldn't get the fries to cook right and he had to settle for onion rings. My chicken was so tough I could hardly chew it and only ate half. The burger was 'fair'. Nothing special. On top of if all my husband was automatically charged a 15% service fee.
