Terrible customer service. I tried purchasing my new Ford through them since they had the model I was interested in buying. The sales man and manager were not willing to work with my budget or suggest any other solutions to get me to my budget. When I asked why I was not approved for a lower rate they couldn't explain. After an hour of waiting they told me they would need to wait for the next day to confirm if I'd even qualify to purchase the vehicle. The next day came was told the payment wouldn't be what I wanted. I asked if there was something I could go to get power payment or lower rate and the sales man flat out said no. He was very rude and demeaning. Worst customer service at a dealership I've ever experienced. No thanks to them I was qualified for the same vehicle on the same day I was denied by them when I went to Titus Will Ford in Tacoma. I ended up getting everything I wanted through Titus Will without an problems. I will NEVER go to Way Scarff ever again to buy a vehicle. I just bought a used 2014 Ford Focus from this place today and I was VERY impressed! Cole was the salesperson who helped my fiance and I and he made us feel very relaxed and at ease, NO pressure to buy. Like he would be ok either way but wanted to get me what I wanted. I had been to the Auburn Valley Kia, I'll be writing their review later too, a few days prior and it was SUPER high pressure and a horrible experience and Way Scarff and my guy Cole were a complete 180! They did everything for us they said they would, were honest in telling us we didn't need GAP because of how much we put down so we could save some money there if we wanted. Cole was super sweet trying to interact with our crazy 2yr old who was approaching the expiration date on her patience and the whole staff was sweet and not once did anyone make any comments or say anything rude about her. She wasn't that bad but some people can't handle kids. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return when I'm ready to trade in this vehicle. They got us a low payment and a limited warranty included. We are SUPER happy!! Cole even carried my toddler's heavy car seat from my trade in to the new car and helped me get it in the trunk. He was going to try to help me install it until I told him the trunk was ok because it usually takes a couple hours and SEVERAL tries to get them in :) couldn't be happier. So happy with Way Scarff Ford Service Department. Recently requested that they install a headlight bulb when doing the routine service. Bulb was purchased at local auto parts store and that technician decided he didn't want to install the bulb because he would have to move battery out of the way to do so. Way Scarff Ford Service Department installed the bulb at no cost to me. So nice! Somehow, they are managing to keep my previously loved (rode hard and put away wet) 20-year old Ford Explorer running. I've been to this dealership for maintenance a hand full of times. Each time I've been disrespected and taken for a ride. Being female it's assumed I know nothing about cars, which is hardly the case. The service department neglects to look acknowledge my extended warranty, trying to charge me over $500 to replace my wheel bearings. Today it took almost 2 hours for an oil change, nothing special, just an oil change... They don't even bother to wash your car when you take it in. This is the ONLY dealership I've come across that does that. Next time I'll make the trip to Ford of Kirkland to get good service. read more

I took my newly acquired 2011 Mercury Milan to the service department here because it was having intermittent issues. The wrench light would come on and the car would stop accelerating. My grandfather purchased the car brand new (5 miles on it) and he recently passed away and left me the car in his will. I took the car to Scarff Ford in Auburn and explained in detail what was going on. They did loan me a car to drive which turned out to be a Godsend since they had my car for ONE MONTH. The people at the service department, while mostly nice, were uncommunicative. There was an entire week that went by with no one calling me back as to the status of my car. The part they had to replace was a common one and it boggles my mind that it took 3 weeks to get there. The person I spoke to at the service department gave me attitude when I told her that my work schedule was a bit crazy one week and there was no way I could pick up my car that week, which ended up being OK since they didn't even have the part to fix it. When I was FINALLY called and told my car was ready, I went to pick it up and it was FILTHY!!!! My car is parked in a garage and not outside typically so I was floored that they couldn't even take time to wash the outside. Was there really no slow time in the one month you had my car? It was so filthy I had to PAY for a car wash at Pink Elephant. I am extremely disappointed that a dealership would treat someone this way. For your own safety, stay away! On March 12th, 2016 I brought my Truck into Way Scarf Ford, yet its still not repaired as of 8/7/2016; In fact the electrical systems now has problems it did not have before, and the steering wheel I paid to have installed was not the exp. one they installed. I have been treated rudely/cursed at/hung up on multiple times by Jeff the sales Manager. I have been treated rudely, hung up on multiple times by the lady who manages the phones when I call in. I have left multiple Voice Mails for the Owner, and yet this is still not resolved after MONTHS and thousands of dollars I have paid them to do a service that they have not done. I feel taken advantaged of and lied to as a customer. Every time I call, I get told to call back in a few days. Everybody important that I have to talk to about my trucks repairs (or lack of the repairs I paid for in the case I paid for repairs that we find were not ever done) is either on vacation, or about to retire. Nobody want to do the right thing and everybody wants to hand me off to somebody else. My truck is currently sitting outside of my house on the street where it was parked, illegal to attempt to drive, because the electrical system is STILL broken and the blinkers, lights,etc do no work. I was told by the woman I have as an account manager - Cristine? Cristina? She never says he name clearly and I have no idea what her name is as a result but she is apparently the only female account manager - that they would arrange a tow in to the lot and work on it to repair it again, but that has not happened and the truck sits, unusable, after they took over $2500 from me to effectively do nothing as the truck still is not repaired .. and when I call asking why the tow has not happened, Jeff the Sales Manager says that they don't do tows, and hangs up on me. Its also important to note that they kept my truck for months trying to find the parts, and that we are currently on the 3rd attempt to get this truck fixed for the money. The first long time was something I considered to be reasonable at first and then it dragged out because one of their guys was "on vacation". It still took FAR too long. The second attack to bring it home, it wouldn't start. This was after I paid in full for all the stated repairs only to find that the truck had no electrical power and full electrical system failure AFTER they said they completely replaced the entire electrical system, and AFTER I fully paid for all repairs, since they would NOT allow me to inspect the truck before I paid in full or give me the keys so I could test the lights, etc., They told me they wanted me to come back in later, and said they refunded that money. I got pictures of the interior of the truck, wanting a record. They then call me a few weeks later asking me to come back in and collect the truck, I thank them and then wait a week to come in so the truck has time to die if the issues they complained about still exists, but when I get in they wont give me the key or let me even start the truck to test for electrical or blinker issues until after I pay. I pay, and then they sweep me out the lot and don't allow me to test the trucks systems,. On the way out - literally as I get off the lot - I notice that the blinker doesn't work and I am told to go home and call them back about arranging a tow back to the lot when I park at the intersection and call them on my cell waiting at the intersection. I then notice after I hang up that the steering wheel I paid to have installed is not the same one as was in the truck when I went to pick up my truck before when it would not start, and notice its a smaller one and its been pained entirely black. Its literally not what I paid for, they had me pay for one expensive steering wheel and then reinstalled the steering wheel a third time with one less expensive after I was ready to pay for it. I have a 3d picture I took of the interior showing the one that should be there had silver spokes and a nice ring, but the one they installed this time is painted a sticky black and looks ugly af. wtf? So anyway the tow never came and the truck is still in the same spot; so I call them up AGAIN and ask where the tow truck is. I get Jeff the sales guy on the phone and he tells me to call again on MONDAY AGAIN, several days later, and he hangs up on me and is rude to me, tells me "your trucks not getting fixed, not today" and when I complained about being hung up on he stated "Yes it is OK to hang up on customers when they are being unreasonable" How is asking that my truck be fixed when I already paid them for work that never actually got done not reasonable? I want my truck fixed, I want what I paid for in terms of parts, not the cheapo one they added a third time, and I am sick of waiting, but I am at the point where I am almost ready to give up and call a lawyer so to save myself form doing that I am posting a Yelp Review warning you all away instead. read more

This is based on the Service Department Only I am very disappointed to write this review because I had a good vibe with them at first. First mistake, I bought the 2014 Ford Focus and didn't do the research on the transmission problems. The vehicle started lurching and shuddering I contact them because they are the closest dealer to my home. They reviewed the vehicle and told me it would be safe to drive till they could get the replacement clutch....8 weeks later the clutch comes in and it was another 2 weeks before they could get the work done. Within a week the shutter and lurching was still there and additionally the vehicle started another new trend..... failure to start. Any idea how frustrating it is to stop at the grocery store on the way home from work and then the vehicle doesn't start when you get back in. After my wife bringing jumper cables and a dinner out I thought I would try to start it again without jumping it.. It started right up. I called the service department and was advised to contact road side assistance if it ever did it again. 2 weeks later it did it again in the Lowes parking lot. Once again after an hour or so it decides to start. I have numerous emails with the service team describing the issue. I was able to get the vehicle to them on August 6th, they issued me a lovely 8 year old Fusion with over 100k miles as their loaner car. On September 2nd they notified me that they were ready to hand the vehicle back over. I was in Hawaii and unable to pick up the vehicle till the 8th. They reported that they were unable to verify anything wrong with the vehicle even though one of their correspondence emails with me tells of how the vehicle died during a test drive and according to Ford the shutter in the transmission is acceptable. Today is the 10th of Sept. I have had the car back less then 36 hours and it is failing to start in my office parking garage. I am thankful for this. Way Scarff Ford is too far away from my office to qualify for Fords roadside assistance. After several hours I was able to get the vehicle to Auto Nation Ford in Bellevue, at first the service guy seemed to not understand what I was telling him, but it wouldn't start for him either. Thank you!! I continue to talk with them and explain that the vehicle has been in for the clutch repairs and the non-start issue. He tells me that there was NEVER ANY DOCUMENTED ISSUE REGARDING THIS ISSUE!!! Are you kidding me? I have pages of emails with Way Scarff Ford's service team talking about this particular issue. - Finishing here, the failure of the service teams advisors to do their most basic function of their job has cost me countless hours and mileage on this vehicle. I would like Way Scarff Ford to put in the documentation that this was indeed and issue that if it continues to happen I have some back up documentation. read more

Went in to pay cash for a vehicle for my son, the salesman filled out an online application on me saying he was only taking in my information, then ran my credit without me signing a legal application! I highly recommend Way Scarff, especially if purchasing a used vehicle. I bought a Chevy truck with 60k miles from them. On my first trip (less than 600 miles and 3 weeks after purchase) the transmission developed an issue that would've been nearly impossible for them or I to detect at the time of purchase. It was determined that I would need a new transmission for $6k. After some back and forth the third-party warranty covered most of the repairs, but Way Scarff assured me that no matter what they would see that the cost of repairs wouldn't fall on me. They also provided me with a loaner car (with a full tank of gas) for 3 weeks and paid the deductible beyond what the warranty contract covered. While the situation was a hassle Way Scarff (especially Phil Lampkin) ensured we were taken care of in every way they could. We'll be certain to go there first the next time we're in the market for a vehicle! read more

***This is a service review** We have been loyal customers since we purchased a Ford at another dealership. We have had all of our major mileage services and our oil changes at Scarff. We even have a strange a/c trans combo unit that we have had replaced without incident. However, recently we had our 85,000 mile service done concurrent with brake replacement on both axles since it was time to do that anyhow. 2 days after initial service there is grinding noise. Car is examined and they find that a bolt on one of the calipers was not installed properly. It is reinstalled. 1 week goes by, and new pinging noises are heard from the back of the car. Back to service again. Not enough grease, grease applied and we are sent on our way after car is driven by service advisor Kristen McMillan to make sure noise is gone. About 2 weeks later the noise returns. Still nothing found that is defective about the brakes. More grease is the answer, Kristen drives car again, and we are sent on our way. We get a call from the Service manager- Gordy Nishmoto- he is pleasant and understands why I am flabbergasted that we had a transmission repair in the past the went great, but we are struggling with a brake job- we are refunded the cost of the back axle to our "Ford Advantage" account since we use the dealer so frequently. 2 weeks later and the noise is back again. I thought, time for a new set of eyes, since 3 previous trips to Scarff did not seem to get us anywhere. I went to Les Schwab today- they indicate the rotors are not machinable, that the problem is likely the rotor as there are tell tale shiny spots on our brake pad. I did call Scarff to let them know that we went elsewhere for service, but the person on the phone's response indicates to me that he didn't care that we went elsewhere, or write it down to call me back or anything. Glad they refunded us in a way for the mistake, but rest assured I will NEVER have brakes done here again. I think they have done what they can customer service wise, but I am still really disappointed since the car is still not in complete working order after multiple contacts with their service department. read more

This review is in regards to the service center at Scarff Ford in Auburn. If I could give them negative stars, I would... and you're about to read why. I made an appointment to have the rear end of my car looked at to see why it was vibrating as I went down the road (kinda wagged at certain speeds). I had many "experts" tell me that they thought it could be a wheel bearing without looking at it - so I let them know that I suspected that may be the case. Upon check in, and after signing a paper agreeing to a $118 charge to diagnose the problem, I was asked by Mr. Rick Root "how much time should they spend troubleshooting... it could take 40 hours (yes, he actually said this to me). I was like... um, I just agreed to pay you $118 to diagnose... how long it takes you to do that, isn't really my problem". I should have taken my keys back and gone somewhere else right then, but I didn't. Instead, I asked Rick to call me when they figured out what the problem was and how much they thought it would be to repair. About an hour and a half later I got a call - it was Mr. Root. He informed me that they would not be able to diagnose the problem without first replacing my rear tires, as they were getting wearing unevenly and were threadbare. I asked how much, and he gave me a quote, but then added that the front tires were also in bad shape and should be replaced as well (no my car is not AWD). This sent up a gigantic red flag... as my front tires were BRAND NEW... had about 3k miles on them. I told them to finish the oil change, and put my car back together as I would be back shortly to pick up my car. When I arrived, they handed me their "estimate" which also included a note about having a coolant leak. Right, and I need new front tires. The next day I took my car into another shop, and told them about the problem I was having with the rear end of my car, and that the rear tires may need to be replaced. They went out, took one look at my rear tires and said - "well, I can guarantee you, that those rear tires are precisely what's causing your problem". No "diagnosis" necessary. I asked them to check the front tires... "nope, nothing wrong with them". I had them put on the 2 new tires and do an alignment. Guess what? No more rear end wiggle/vibration... oh, and NO COOLANT LEAK EITHER. My advice: Read the rest of these Yelp reviews. It seems to me that this company has a systemic problem with ripping people off. If I owned this place, I'd do the community a favor and get out of the car business. Honestly, I don't know how these people sleep at night. read more

I needed to buy a truck recently. I had approval from my bank of an amount and a clear budget/payment amount I wanted to adhere to. I contacted a few dealers based on the ads for the particular truck I wanted. Then, I headed out one Saturday in December armed with my blank bank approval check and determination. Although I would have much rather birth my last child (12lbs) naturally again then to buy a car, I had to bite the bullet and do it. First stop was Rairdon in Kirkland. After 15 minutes of being dragged around a car lot looking for a truck that we emailed back and forth about for three days, they said the truck did not exist. Unwilling to pull their own ad up on the computer ("our computers are not hooked up to the internet") I left. Next stop- Harris Ford in Lynnwood. Still searching for three trucks that clearly were not on their lot but rather in Burlington. Seriously? Unwilling to commit to buying a truck I test drove that Kelly Blue Book had at 6000.00 less than sticker, I left, One hour of my life I could not get back. A little defeated, I picked up my daughter from work and headed home. Decided to head out the next day for round two. However, my daughter looked up trucks for me on her phone, crossed referenced the trucks with KBB and came up with ONE in Auburn at Scarff Ford that fir my criteria. Off we went, just to look. We really did not want to stay too long as my son-in-law was in route to meet us/drop off the grand daughter (at the dealer). Bob P.(used trucks) met us at our car. I told Bob what I wanted, he brought up the particular truck in question and found the keys. As Bob was getting the truck, I sent an email to my bank who approved the truck for purchase. Me, Bob, my daughter and grand baby were off on a test drive. We chit-chatted a bit on the test drive. The truck was great, super low miles, three years old and 2000.00 UNDER KBB. Back at the dealership, I pitched an offer, started to pack the baby up when 10 minutes later Bob came back with an offer that was within 500.00 of what I wanted to pay. Oh, and they found a bank (Wells Fargo) who beat my own banks interest rate by 3%. Done! I spent more time talking to the insurance company trying to get coverage on a Saturday night then talking, test driving and negotiating. We were in and out in about an hour. Seriously! Bob even found a quite spot for my daughter to nurse her baby while we waited. Bob was friendly, had a sense of humor, straight forward and fast (might have been the crying baby ;) but seriously, There was no real negotiating, the truck spoke for itself. That is the one and only reason car buying is so difficult, the games being played. I was treated with respect start to finish. No games. Very matter of fact. For a women, going to a car dealership can often feel like a prey entering a lion's den. I never felt that at Scarff Ford. I can respect a dealer who is clear and concise verses any of my past buying experiences. I WILL buy my next truck from Scarff Ford! read more

I received a notice from Ford advising me to bring my car into a dealer to have the power steering issue fixed. brought my car in and they fixed that issue. however right after I started having issues with my driver side door. basically it no longer unlocks remotely and can only be opened from inside. never had that issue before taking it in, but all of a sudden it happens. coincicedence? doubt it. brought it back to the dealer and they are saying they had nothing to do with it and charged me $125 for diagnostic and say that it would cost $300+ for repair. now I see why they say FORD= Fixed Or Repaired Daily. If I could give less stars to the service department. They told me over the phone I would have an "appointment" at 8am. I went in thinking this would mean I'd be first one in. Turns out they just told me the time they would be opening. When I asked for a best guess on when I would know something the tech incredulously pointed to a stack of papers and laughed. Like that means anything to me? Instead of directing me to the waiting area away from the rain, he pointed me to the door out into the elements. I walked around the building to get to the waiting room when there is a door straight from the shop to there! Lastly when I went to ask about a local taxi service they just ignored me. The part needed for my problem is dealership only so I didn't have many options. I'll never come here again and ill tell everyone never to come here. How can it be ok, to fill out a service report stating brakes need to be replace when the brakes are still good. How could the owner of the dealership say their shop is a honest shop, if their techs are writing up false reports to the customer, stating parts are bad and their not, how is that being honest. Way Scarff happen to get one in the color I was interested in, so I went down and saw it, fell in love, and bought it right then. Very easy process with some very nice and professional people. So whenever we take our cars in to have them serviced, there is always a surprise at the end, whether it is with a higher cost, they forgot to service an item we requested or something wasn't fixed as promised. The latest issue actually involved the scheduling of service for a Lincoln. While they tried to work thru the details the service scheduler actually just mumbled something and hung-up. Totally disrespectful and frustrating. I am all for supporting local businesses, but in this case, I think it would be best if you went to another Ford dealer in Kent, Sumner or Puyallup. "Please see my other review as well" I have talked with Cory regarding the wrong part that was put on my car they literally order the wrong part cut it to fit and then zip tied fan shroud to the radiator I called several times left several messages people are full of excuses and being sorry. Few weeks later I start feeling vibrations feels like coming from the back of car, and some hesitation on freeway I pull the dip stick and metal shiny bits on dip stick so I decide to bring car back in after a week I get a call says there looking at my car now they will call the next day and let me know so of course no call so I wait then another week goes by I get a call from Cory he says I need front wheel bearings, new spark plugs, and the shavings are because of the dip stick so Cory wants me to pay 2,200 dollars for these repairs. They sold me a car told me all maintenance was done before I bought it they talk a good game since then they have told me there was accident damage done to the car which broke the fan shroud "they told me nothing about this before I bought this car" I've replaced brakes, learned of accident damage, wrong part put on car with zip ties when questioned Cory has nothing to say shrugs his shoulders, I receive a great post card from them saying my car is only worth 2000.00 trade-in. I purchased this car 10 months ago for 8000.00 cash all I had. Now this, they want to do repairs that is more than what they say the car is worth. When I bought this car the salesman told me everything I wanted to hear. I thought the name WAY SCARFF FORD meant something great. I wholeheartedly believe I was taken advantage of because I am a nice person I tried everything to handle this on my own I've been lied to, wrong parts even tho they had my car for almost 2 months my proof is when I passed my phone over to my husband because I can no longer believe this is a decent company. his first conversation with Cory attitude completely changed and when my husband asked about the things I have been through with this company Cory had nothing to say. My experience w/ Scarff Ford of Auburn goes back many years. My wife had gone in for an oil change for our Taurus and called from the dealership crying saying the tech told her we needed a new transmission for $2000 and our transmission fluid was black. We didn't have $2000 at the time, so I told her to drive it home and I would change the transmission fluid and filter and try to keep it running as long as possible and maybe have more money by then. She drove it home and I got the parts and oil and went to work. When I dropped the transmission pan the transmission fluid was bright red. It had never slipped prior to this. The good: the transmission was probably due for its service (80k). We would have the car for another 50,000 miles and had no issues w/ the transmission. I intended to never go back there. Unfortunately, a couple years later I went to Midas for a routine tune up. When I went in to Midas the Taurus was running well. When I was leaving Midas of Auburn the car was missing and less power. Midas (another bad company) would not fix or own any of the problem. I thought Midas had messed up the timing on the vehicle. I figured I needed someone who really Knew my vehicle (Ford) and called Scarff explaining my prior experience and that I knew enough about cars to know when someone was trying to get over on me and I would expect someone to explain why the car was running the way it was if they said it needed a major repair. They said, "OK, bring it in." I took the car in to Scarff and a couple hours later, they called and said it needed an engine. An engine from a junk yard they would charge me $4300 and a new engine they said would cost $8400 installed. The car was worth about $4000 at the time. I thought about it for a minute as they said it had thrown a rod and showed me a big chart showing low power in the third cylinder. They made a compelling argument. However, I knew the car was running well before I took it into Midas and it probably didn't throw a rod while in the shop at Midas. I also knew the prices for both a new motor (6 cylinder) and one from a junk yard were extremely high. I figured even if I did need a new engine, I could get it cheaper else where. My sister called about something unrelated. At the end, I asked if she knew any honest auto shops. She said yes, she knew the owner of Puyallup Auto Tech and they had done good work on her cars for years. I called and made an appointment there. I took the car in. By the time I got home they had called (1/2 hour). They had the car fixed and it would cost $27. After I explained what happened w/ Midas and the low power band they knew to electrical test (put a volt meter on the #3 plug wire). They found the spark plug was cracked on the #3 cylinder. The careless tech at Midas had dropped it and missed the crack. When I got there I paid the $27 and the car was running great again. They had fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes and it cost them $2 for a new plug. It would run great until I sold it over 30,000 miles later. I went in to complain to Scarff and ask for my $150 back for diagnosing the problem. They still said my car might need a new engine and they would not do anything. I asked to speak to a manager. They said fine to wait in the waiting area. I waited for an hour and a half before giving up. I knew I would never see that manager. I left when a full crowd was in the show room (2 families looking at cars) and yelled about the dishonest service I had received. I knew I would never go back and have told as many people as possible about these experiences and have put it on social media. Fast forward to a few days ago. I meet someone who worked in service there and he talks about the extra money he made upselling. They pay employees more money on a percentage if they upsell something that the customer didn't come in to have fixed. I thought they were dishonest before, but I couldn't figure how they would get employees to sell their souls to lie for the company and make them more money. Well, now it has all come together. The employees get paid more money to find problems that aren't there. I'm sure they will say they hire only honest people who would never do that and that is not what the program is intended to do. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT A DISHONEST COMPANY WOULD SAY! Would a dishonest company say, "Oh there it is, you caught us red handed. We admit it."? There is too much incentive for both the employee and the company to find problems that aren't there. Need more evidence, read the other reviews. In several of the other reviews this practice seems to be evident. Stay away from Scarff Ford. Other dealers may be dishonest as well.... but you can be SURE this one is. read more

The guys at Way Scarff Ford were great. I'd called about a 2003 Mustang GT on a Saturday afternoon and when I arrived about an hour later I found that Adam, who I'd spoken to on the phone, had set it aside for me. He was with another customer by the time I got there but I was handed over to Greg who was ready and waiting for me. The car was in excellent shape, drove like a dream, and had everything on my "need to have" list and 95% of the features on my "nice to have" list. Greg was also knowledgeable about the car, which I greatly appreciated and this differed from the experience I'd had at nearby Ford dealership. I felt everyone I worked with was open and honest with me and provided excellent customer service. Ken in finance was awesome about working with me on payment and made the whole process really easy and pleasant I'm a pretty firm believer that it's impossible to come out ahead when dealing at a dealership, but I honestly believe I came out with a good deal on my car. read more

I took my truck to get fixed at Way Ford in Auburn last Friday. Dave was my service provider and after several days to even look at my truck they decided they just don't wanna fix my truck even though it's covered fully under a warranty! I will never take anything here all they did is waste my time. I purchased a new car here this past Sunday and must say the experience was far better than what I've encountered at most dealerships. No high-pressure, no hoards of salesmen running out the moment I entered the parking lot. My son has purchased four vehicles from this dealership and highly recommended the salesman we worked with. As a result of his referral, he gets a bonus from the dealership AND they donate over 600 pounds of food to the local food bank. I got a good deal, my son got a bonus, and the food bank has more on hand to help those who need assistance. A winning combination in my book. read more

If this had a negative rating this dealership would get that. My son went there to purchase his first car. He got a 2016 ford focus, it was one of their certified used cars. First of all he thought he was buying the car for $13,500 and making a $1000 down payment. Come to find out the dealership charged $15,000 to the financial institution we used to finance his car. Then just months after getting the car, all indicator lights failed and the engine blew. We took the car back to them, since we were told it had a warranty. One of the technicians even said "I can't believe they sold "that" car!" But they said it wasn't under warranty and it would cost us $6,000 to fix it. This is the BIGGEST scam!!!! (Update 19 Feb 2015) I've recently had an inspection by Ford on my car. Though I'm not satisfied with the outcome, Scarff Ford hosted my car in a very professional way. Ford however, is VERY frustrating to deal with. I don't know the politics but I'm happy that Scarff Ford received me very well. Thank you. First I'd like to say that the service department seemed friendly. I had my 2015 Focus serviced there and the transmission reflashed. Great experience. However, I'm currently having an issue with my windshield having a permanent glare or ghosting. I'll try to attach a documented video, not my car, but the exact same issue. The darker it gets outside the more difficult it is to read signs that are digital. In fact, sitting in Scarff Ford's parking lot the lot lights, after dark, you can see the issue. It isn't an intermittent issue, it is permanent. So they said they compared it to other new cars on the lot and saw no difference. But told me in person they saw what I was talking about, but wrote a completely different diagnosis in my paperwork. Was I lied to? Another thing is, I compared it to my wife's 2014 Fiat 500L and her windshield was fine. Also either my car was driven like they stole it or it sat idle because my avg mpg was 24 when I picked it up. Usually I'm close to 32. I also noticed after I got home that there were black marks on my headliner. I'm bringing my car in this week to have that cleaned up. I am not happy and will not likely being my car back to Scarff. It feels like my car was rushed in and out. purchased tires for my ford fusion, spent over 1k on the tires. 20,000 miles later the service department is telling me that my tires need attention and replacement soon. I ask about replacing them under the warranty because I don't think they should be wearing this much after 20k miles. told to bring it back in for measurments. Did so and was told the tires are fine. Something doesn't seem right. Either they are not performing accurate inspections in hope that you will shell out more money, or they just don't want to stand behind the product they sell and replace the tires under warranty. read more

Needed a smart key programmed for my Ford Fusion. Made an appointment for 1:00 and arrived on time. Service writer told me to expect 1 hour and pointed me to the customer lounge. At 1:30 the tech came in and said it was ready, then walked me over to the cashier. The charge was half what I expected (happy face!). Paid the bill, went out to the car and checked the programming. It was done perfectly! I know it's a small chore to ask but since it was done exactly as I wanted, in half the time promised, and for half the cost I expected, I'll go back to them in the future. I recently took my '95 Ford F-150 into Scarff Ford Service in Auburn, Wa. for a lube job, brake and bearing check and to find out why the cruise control (CC) doesn't work. Almost every part of the service was a miserable failure. So bad, in fact, that I am forced to report them to the BBB and Ford Corporate. I would not recommend their service department to my worst enemy. Read on for details... I just bought a 95 f-150. Been looking for a long time to find an F-150 with a 300ci inline six with low miles on it...this one has less than 100k on it. I don't have the time or place to service it myself, so I called Scarff Ford. When making the appointment for my lube and oil, brake, bearings and CC check, I also asked for a price to change out plugs, wires, cap and rotor on my truck...they said they would call me back with a price, but never did. When I dropped the rig off the next day for the appointment, I again asked about a price for plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and was promptly rebuked by the service writer; That doesn't have a distributor! Pardon me...I DO know what a distrubutor is...I have been working on cars since 1975...and this truck has one! So then he sends his tech out to the truck with me to see. OH! It DOES have a distributor. I asked if they have the better quality distributor cap with plated terminals instead of aluminum (which corrodes much faster) and he said they would have to go after-market for that, so I said forget it...I can change out a set of wires and plugs, cap and rotor. When I came back to check on the truck, the tech that looked at the CC said that even though the CC is a Ford system installed at the Ford dealer, they can't fix it. What a load of hogwash! The FORD FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIAN CAN'T FIX A FORD PRODUCT INSTALLED BY A FORD DEALER??? What kind of auto dealer can't or won't fix what they sell?? The tech said he checked the fuse and the pedal switches, and it was a component failure, but basically said I'm on my own with this, because they dis-continued parts for the CC and don't have the tools or tech specs. I am VERY dissapointed by this, and by the level of "service" I was shown at this dealer. What kind of company doesn't keep spares for a commonly used system, and what kind of service shop (open since 1922, no less) loses or throws away tools and tech specs needed to service what they sell and install? This is the first Ford I have owned in about 10 years. I would like to know if it's Fords new official policy to leave their customers hanging out to dry. I don't care if it's factory installed or dealer installed...it's a Ford part installed by Ford. Ford should service what they sell...NO EXCUSES!!! They might have an excuse if the vehicle in question was an Edsel or a Model A, but it isn't...my F-150 is a modern, fuel injected rig...only the best selling vehicle EVER. Ford techs should be trained to repair ALL Ford products and systems. To make matters even worse, I was treated in a patronizing manner, as if I didn't know what I was talking about with this truck, when in reality, I have owned at least 15 Fords (6 of which were F-150 trucks) in my 50 years. I don't like how I was treated there. So, after leaving Scarff, I went to the parts store (not Ford), got the parts to do the plugs, etc... myself. In the middle of doing so, I had to remove some parts from the area of the spark plugs for access, and what do I find...? the whole left side of the engine is covered in dirty oil, from an oil leak in that vicinity. 'Scuse me??! The tech changed the oil filter, which is right there on the left side of the engine in the middle of all the oil...and they didn't notice an oil leak that is coating the whole left side of the engine, and dripping off the bottom of the engine? If I was service manager, I would have a standing order to report any and all leaks to customers...and give a price and timeline for repair. Which I didn't get. Had to find out about it myself...and to make matters worse, the report from the lube tech indicated there were NO LEAKS??!! Also, as mentioned before, I asked them to check the wheel bearings, because it makes a noise when going around corners. There is no mention at all of them checking the bearings. It is still noisy going around corners. Then, there is a is a part of the LOF report that says the battery needs immediate attention, and at the same time on a different part of the report, the battery gets a "good condition" rating. So, with an increasing level of pissed off, I get my battery load tester out and check it myself. A load test shows the battery is in good shape...but the electrolyte level is low. When was checking battery electrolyte taken off the list of things to do on a regular LOF service? There's some nails in the coffin that contains Scarffs service reputation, in my opinion. read more

Went there this morning to check out the new 2018 Mustang GT they have on the lot, and the Focus RS hoping to purchase either one today. No one came out to help me. I'm 20 years of age and just because I look young does not mean I cannot afford either one. I made eye contact with multiple sales people, and they did not do anything while sitting inside. A couple walked inside and they eagerly got up to meet them which really upset me. With that being said, I left and am taking my business elsewhere. It amazes me how many people do not want to make a sale, especially on two cars which aren't hot sellers in the winter time. Very disappointing. read more

Purchased a 2014 focus new there in late May of this year and took it in for a problem with the transmission and a rattle in the right side. First thing they did was give me a handout describing the "characteristics"of the transmission and after the tech looked at it told me this is just the way it works and that Ford is aware of the problem and trying to solve it with software updates. They say it is a dual clutch automatic that is supposed to work like a stick, what a joke people that ride with me laugh and say they can drive a stick far better than this shifts. As far as the rattle goes they couldn't find it even though I told them it does it after it is warmed up at low speeds. I even dropped it off one evening for a strut replacement and told the service guy who checked it in that it was making the noise but he didn't seem interested in checking it out. The strut got replaced and now I have a clicking whenever I turn the steering wheel. What a joy this whole " new car" experience has been. read more

Scarff Ford listed the price of a 2015 vehicle on Cars.com as $34,999 with 17,633 miles on it. We thought that seemed like a good price and went to take a look. When we test drove it, we learned it actually had well over 21,000 miles on it. When we asked for an explanation, the salesperson said it had been lent out to a UW coach, who had driven it (4k miles apparently!?). Scarff didn't offer us a discount on the price, even though the advertised miles listed was fraudulent. It was a real bait and switch. When we complained about this bait and switch tactic (see other reviews below, as this seems like a pattern at Scarff) the salesperson said "don't you ever make mistakes?" and then "why are you being so unkind?". Tries to rip us off, no apologies, no change in price, no offer to fix the problem, and then takes offense at our calling out this problem. Ugh. read more
