I've Never had Heard of WayBack Burger's. Have to say, the Food at this Location... Was Something else in Every GOOD way! Food: Food was Freshly Made (which made it even more enjoyable). Ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger... It was pretty big in size, as the image. I was even able to add grilled mushrooms and Jalapenos. Burger was to die for, but I Couldn't even finish it. I also had a Orea Milkshake and house chips. The house chips were made there, and weren't too greedy or salty. Just perfect. A+ Staff/Workers: Everyone were Welcoming, Nice and Attentive. Got greeted as soon as I walked in. Felt very welcome. Everyone went out of there way, to make my experience enjoyable. A+ Facility: The Facility was clean, and very organize. Staff members would go around cleaning and sanitizing the tables, after customers would leave. Also staff would do table touches, and ask if there was anything else I needed or if I needed a refill. We eat Wayback burgers in the Bay Area locations etc, cause it serves Halal meat! We pass by year after year and always forget that this location does not serve Halal meat. Which is a bummer. We ended up ordering the fries with cheese and tots etc which was delicious. I love wayback burgers and Vote for this location to serve halal too. When I asked the staff I had to ask two just Incase they didn't know what Halal was and whether it was actually halal or not. Stopped here for lunch on the way down to LA from SF. Definitely a way better alternative to McDs. Nothing against McDs but the food was much tastier and fresh. My 6yo who initially asked for a burger only devoured her burger AND my chicken tenders! I've never seen her eat so much so quickly! I wasn't a fan of the fries but the tater tots were so amazing!!! Hot and crispy! Chicken tenders were also delicious! Yum! I've never heard of this place before and just looked them up online. It was nice to be able to stop at this burger place on the 5 in the middle of a long haul trip from the south. There's surprisingly little to eat on the epic journey. Unfortunately they got 2 out our 3 orders incorrect and I thought the food was mediocre. Lots of parking and gas stations at this roadside burg. Easy access. I never knew how truly desolate Highway 5 was until I actually tried to search for a supermarket and learn there are none on the five. I had tried this place once before and it was fantastic and this time was no exception. While this is a little bit more expensive than your other fast food joints, the quality is Leaps and Bounds better. The food have the similar quality and feel to Johnny Rockets with burgers made to order and excellent sides and trimmings. This is definitely going to be my go-to restaurant on the five. read more

Attached to a gas station and not AT ALL what we expected in every category. Absolutely poor quality food and order execution. This Firebaugh location doesn't carry most of the options we selected when we checked out online through their website. I purchased a blue cheese burger, but they don't have it. We purchased O Ring Fries and received two O's on top of a basket of regular fries. They didn't have any of the fancy sauces listed on the website. Our kids opted for Lemonade with their kids meal. Not only did they not have ANY drink ready when we came to pick up our mobile order, they didn't mention they only offer typical soda fountain drinks with less options than an average fast food joint. We ordered online and the website looks modern and lists all kinds of sauces, Strawberry hibiscus soda, all kinds of toppings and customizable options. Apparently this particular franchise is not upholding the brand's intended image of an upscale burger. No one working even cared that they were missing half of the details on our $44 order. They just looked at me and said "we don't have that" without offering any solution or understanding. read more

Wanted to like it, but expensive and salty... The cheesesteak, maybe should have melted cheese in the chopped (not over cooked) steak, as opposed to the salty, cheesy onions, with a side of over cooked cheap meat cuts. Additionally some food service issues, such as the cook employee messing around with friends in the dining room, the cashier helping food prep, but no washing hands between handling cash and food. Finally the ticket was clearly marked to go, but it came out "dine in", when pointed out it was all unceremoniously dropped into a bag with no thought of presentation. Atmosphere was great and people were friendly. Usually people say if there are not a lot of people there you should stay out because the food probably isn't any good but when we ate here the food was delicious. Aside from the fact that we found hair in our water which is weird. I had a buffalo chicken burger and my wife had the classic burger along with a full order of bacon and cheese fries everything was delicious and I highly recommend eating at this place just maybe don't order the water. read more

Solid burger joint in the middle of nowhere. We were on our way to SoCal from the Bay Area and made a pit stop at Wayback for dinner. The ambience is fast food like , but the food here is very fresh. We got about 2-3 burgers with assorted fixins and sides of fries. The patty was well cooked and so were the veggies that went on the burger. They tasted fairly fresh as well. The dressing/aioli is house made ! The milkshakes are solid and provided some much needed sugar for the weary traveler! Definitely recommend to folks looking for quality food along an otherwise dry freeway! read more

Burger were cook to order, but they were sitting on the countertop a little to long before they were served. The fries were a little cold when we got our order. The meat on the burger were dry. Waited 15 minutes for our order. The chicken strips and onion ring were very good. For a fast food that have a wait of 15 minutes, I think is a little too long. read more

On a road trip down to SoCal from The Bay on interstate 5, I stopped by this burger for something other then McDonald's. It was nice, clean, and seemed to have some options. They had 2 TV's playing the movie "Sing" which was pretty cool to watch while waiting for my order. I ordered the horse radish butter burger and fries which were cooked to order and fresh. The texture if the meat patty seemed leaner then average. The taste was not all there for me but not enough to detour one's interest. I may have ordered the wrong burger? I could give them another try. The other burger selections here at Wayback burger do look like delicious concepts. The fries were crisp and delicious. Didn't expect a gem like this in the middle of nowhere off the 5. We usually stop in Coalinga during our regular trips from the Bay to LA but our newborn couldn't wait that long. We ended up at Wayback Burgers and I'm so glad we did! The food was great- a nice break from road trip, drive thru garbage. Atmosphere also perfect for a family with three little ones. They even played Boss Baby on the TVs so our kids could chill out while we waited for our food. Will definitely be back on our next drive. read more
