While driving down to San Diego last week, we wanted lunch soon after getting south of the Bay Area. I yelped "diner" and Blue Flame was our choice. The food was great here and service could not have been better. I had a bacon cheese burger and fries and it hit the spot perfectly. My wife had a BLT and soup of the day and enjoyed both plus we shared Buffalo wings, also fantastic. And their strawberry lemonade was the best ever. If we're ever in this area again, this is the place we'll eat. Oh, and we're so used to paying (overpaying?) Bay Area prices, the bill here was another welcome surprise. Highly recommend.

I was in town for a meeting and needed to grab a bite before heading back to Sacramento. This place was so convenient so I popped in. It's super cute inside and the staff is great! It was busy at noon so they must be good... right? Well they are really good. When you eat at a place in a small town it's always hit or miss. This was a hit! I had a salad which the price for how much you get was perfect. The chicken was amazing by the way. My coworker got the burger and fries... the burger is huge! He said it was cooked perfectly and well he cleared his plate so I'd say that's a great sign. All in all it was a great little spot for lunch and if you're ever in Firebaugh stop by this place, you won't be disappointed.

I'm from out of town, passing by for work. Stopped by Blue Flame Diner and let me tell you, you'd be dumb not to stop in. The service was incredible and the food was (chefs kiss) freaking delicious! I took the recommendation from one of the owners and got the grilled ham and cheese with cheddar and American cheese and sweet potato fries and I have absolutely no complaints. It was perfect!! Also, let's not sleep on the pickle! Thank you so much!

My first time at this place was worth stopping in. Friendly staff and kind of a country feel to the decor. Multiple page menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner. I chose the Bleu cheese burger and curly fries. It comes with the usual plus avocado. Juicy and flavorful with melted Bleu cheese sliding out . Curly fries were perfect with it. I look forward to going back to try their pastrami sandwich. read more

All of the above! We were traveling through, in a pinch was able to order online a few miles out. Got it go. The waiter so sweet only waited a few minutes and I was out the door. We traveled from Sacramento to Bear Mountain near Squaw Valley to Mendota Pool and as we were headed to Sack Dam we decided to have lunch in Firebaugh and read the reviews for the Blue Flame Diner. If you are looking for a great burger, then this is the place. All three of us had burgers and all of us agreed they were absolutely fantastic! Everything about the burgers was fantastic and they satisfied the heartiest of palates. We also had the onion rings and they were fresh, hot and crispy. Finally, the young lady who took our orders was so down to earth and friendly and played along with our joke of making one of the guys pay the bill! Thank you and we will be back. Pat read more

If you're ever in Firebaugh CA, which you probably won't be. But if you are eat here, this place was fantastic! The small town feel and very friendly staff were absolutely exceptional. Even the customers were so pleasant and inviting. No one but myself even had their phone out the whole time I was eating. So I put my phone down and just enjoyed the community vibe. First time eating here. As soon as we (3 of us) entered the business we were greeted and told to sit where we wanted. The main course was good and the potato skins were delicious. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars was because they had empty tables with dirty dishes on them. read more

I would love to start off with saying how clean Blue Flame is & how friendly the staff is. Everyone is very welcoming mainly my server Amber. Such a sweet young girl always making sure we were doing okay. I live in Sacramento, Ca but I pass through Firebaugh once a month for the past 2 years and can't pass through without getting my favorite food. Garlic chicken pasta literally beats Olive Garden and DiCicco's. The food is worth it and the price is extremely reasonable can't wait to go back and take my family this go around! This was our first time trying Blue Flame. The atmosphere was very nice. It was a really nice and clean setup. We were greeted and served by Krystal. She's a sweetheart and would check on us often to make sure we had drinks and everything we needed. The food was really good and at a good price. It's definitely delicious and something different from all of the other eateries in the area. The pancakes were so good! We will definitely be coming back very soon and can't wait to try something new. I would definitely recommend bringing the family or a date to try their diner. Everything I have had here is great! Some of my faves are the Garlic Chicken Pasta, the Cajun Chicken Pasta, Deluxe Dip Sandwich, & the Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich. I give this restaurant 5 complete stars. Krystal is a wonderful server and person all around. They have gone above and beyond for me even opening up after hours to get me a menu for my mother who is ill. And the food is great too. Went in was told to seat my self sat down no waitress came to greet me. Sat there for several minutes another couple came in sat down behind me waitress came right away with utensils and a menu not cool. I got up and left will never ever come back. So, our 3rd time here- each time we have loved the food, the comfortable atmosphere, and the tops is our server, Krystal. We've picked a different meal each time, and each time our hopes were met! It hasn't taken long to get our order, even when we had a party of 9. The most important thing to me, though, is their willingness to help with the food allergies we deal with. I'm not saying they have a menu for those with specific food allergies, but, they bend over backwards to help figure out options that work for us! This is an awesome local eatery! Sad that some have had bad experiences, but I wonder what they expect? read more

The menu has some surprising and unique items and some classics with a twist. You can choose regular or dark roast coffee. I really enjoyed the sausage! My plate included scrambled eggs, biscuit and gravy and delicious sausage. Ben enjoyed his classic Benedict as well.

Service was great, our waitress was attentive and kind throughout our visit. The only other downside was the coffee, which tasted a bit watered down or just not very strong. Another is from the gift shop side and we also noticed people coming in from the side of the bar. One side is the restaurant which we looked at but ended up at the bar section. Which happened to be happy hour happening. Didn't know they had that to offer. Bar area was pretty quiet when we were there but it did pick up. There's also patio seating right outside there. Main menu pretty much has as everything but we just opted for some happy hour bites for now. Drink special was offered both for draft and bottle as well as cocktails and wine. Food menu, they were limited on that but the usual were offered. Both cup or bowl of the famous soup was available. Half order of the potatoes skin, onion rings and wings were available as well as the quesadillas. Soup was decent but could have been hotter. Onion rings, and the wings were ok. Good nothing major to rave about. Both served with ranch sauce. I also picked up some dessert from the counter which looked great. Happy hour items were decent for the price. The service for the whole place was great. All The staff and waitress were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress who was also the bartender was a major doll. She was very sweet. Outside there is a photo op and the building looks really cool. Inside, you can find all things Danish. However, I was sad to find the shop was so much smaller than the pictures on Yelp show. Everything is connected inside - the shop, bakery, restaurant, bar, and restrooms. The restaurant is huge and there's also an eating area at the bar and a back patio, although it was dusty and cramped and I don't think many people use the patio seating. They are dog friendly and the bartender allowed us to sit in a corner of the bar with our two dogs for our dinner. We also were able to walk them around inside the shop. Split Pea Soup 3.5/5* The soup itself is boring. There's a grainy texture, good flavor, but blah. You definitely need to order the toppings to go with it, which is a weird combination of stuff that somehow makes the soup so much better. You get cheese, sliced ham, bacon, scallions, and croutons but the crunchy green onions and bacon are what makes the soup pop. It feels like eating a healthier version of chili. Country Fried Steak 2/5* Not your typical country fried steak. The batter on this is thin and isn't very textured with crunchy edges. It was like a sad limp piece of fried patty. The steak had good seasoning but the batter really did it no justice. Hashbrowns were average. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and English Muffin was perfectly toasted. I do like that they give you a whopping amount of whipped butter for your toast! The bakery had some good looking pastries. The whole experience reminded me of a piece of Solvang. Great rest stop for something different. Plus, the bathrooms are huge and clean.

What a treat! My wife and I had never before stopped in Firebaugh, but we dined at the Blue Flame on a rainy Friday afternoon on our way back to San Jose after missing lunch due to a client call in west Fresno. Owner/chef George greeted us, kidded with us, and offered custom-made senior meals. Krystal, the server, was attentive and friendly, making sure that everything was alright. My wife enjoyed her rib plate, and my hot turkey sandwich was delicious. George threw in a complimentary cheesecake for dessert, decorated with Valentine designs. They are lovely people at the Blue Flame. George is so good that he must be a trained chef. read more

Good food and fair prices. When we want a good meal at an affordable price we drive to the Blue Flame Diner. It is about 40 miles from home but worth the drive. Check their menu, I'm sure you will find something that you want to try. read more

Ordered a Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich my first time to play it safe and it was worth every penny. Amazing and fast service as well. The restaurant looks amazing and very clean. Definitely recommend Blue Flame. read more
