Tried a new place to me, Wayback Burgers. Ordered the Cheesy Burger. Double meat pattie with loads of cheese. I had them add grilled onions to it and pickles. They actually take the bun and flip it inside out. So the toasted flat sides are outward. Gives it a patty melt on sourdough loom. Flavor for the meat was not bad. Not to salty. The grilled onions added a nice flavor to it as every bite I took had mounds of cheese in it. Very tasty burger. I also had their French fries. They had a good crisp to the outside and hit soft inside. Nicely done Wayback Burgers. Do not be shocked as you drive up and find it on a local Walmart. I was concerned that this could have been a bust but Wayback Burgers was a very tasty lunch meal. When in the area, this is for sure a favorite to go to. read more

This is the worst location I've been to by far! Fries were burnt chicken sandwich was burnt too smh then on top of that they put the top of the tomato on my sandwich asked for another tomato and they gave me the soggiest piece ever just ate it without the tomato smh worst part is that I drove 28 miles out of my way to get here and this is what I get won't ever come back to this location ever! read more

Update to this... actually stopped in to eat with a friend while shopping, and while the service isn't the fastest (they need more employees!) they were certainly very sweet. I tried the " Cheeeesy" burger and added pickles and onions... and lawdy! It was all that and more. The funniest thing was they toast the bun UPSIDE DOWN and serve it that way... don't know why, but it's still a mega cheesy excellent burger available in a single or double. Got the single and it was PLENTY! Plenty GOOD!!! They didn't skimp on toppings and the Heinz ketchup and mustard is sitting at the tables. My friend Kim had the "Tochos"... which were tater tots covered with (I think) cheese, barbecue sauce, sour cream, and shredded pork... and scallions, which she left off. Looked pretty good, but she fussed there wasn't enough pork on there and they brought her more without a fuss. Again, nice ladies. I made sure I left them a tip in the cup on the counter... especially since they bring the food to the table. Side note: went a second time with another friend and it was a totally DIFFERENT experience. Night and day. One lady in the back washing stuff. We stood there... finally my friend kind of hollered at her and she came up and asked US where the counter person was... (?)... and then said she guessed she went to the bathroom and we'd just have to wait... and went back to her dishes. (!) Wait we did. For about almost 15 more minutes. Finally a girl showed up and we ordered. Wish I hadn't. I forgot my phone so no pics to show you the horror that was their chicken tenders and cheesy bacon fries. I'll just say I won't order either again and will stick with burgers. Not a good day... but I'll give them another chance as it happens. Wow... I am thoroughly impressed with the order I just had delivered by DoorDash! I have passed by this little restaurant tucked inside the Walmart of Shelbyville, and thought to myself, "Self... you need to give this place a try sometime. It's a shame it's inside WallyWorld amongst all these Walmartians!" and then promptly forgot about it. I really wish it was a free-standing place and not where it's at, but the food makes up for it being where it is as there's no need to stay and eat it. Get itIt stayed hot all the way to my apartment, which is at least eight miles away. I looked at the menu DoorDash had on their app, and decided to do the "Double Craft Your Own"... as I'm a picky eater. Got my pepper jack cheese instead of the regular most places serve, and I must say their onions are awesome! I got the raw, but you can get sautéed. Then, thinking I might still be hungry (more on THAT later) I perused the sides menu. Lo and behold, I saw something I had never seen before... IRISH nachos! I'm like "Wait... WHAT?!?" How are nachos IRISH??? These things had chili, cheese, onions, and some of the best sliced jalapeños I've had in a long time... but... the CHIPS were thinly sliced POTATOES!!! There was my "AH HAH" moment when the Irish kicked in! Being half Irish, I had a good laugh about the irony of the combination, and it's a great combination to boot! Yummy in the tummy, and it comes in two sizes. I'm quite glad I ordered the smaller of the two. Regarding the portion sizes? They do NOT stint on them. I could not finish my meal. I ate, at most, 2/3 of my burger and maybe half of my Irish nachos. I am about to burst. It was all delicious, and like I said earlier, I'm a picky eater. Ms. Picky is still giggling about the nachos... I mean... IRISH nachos? How cool is that? Y'all go get ya some... but unless you're starving? Make it a small order! read more

I had heard this place had really good food, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the classic burger and a philly cheesesteak, w/2 orders of onion rings. The burger was very tasty and had plenty of beef, but the philly cheesesteak was probably the best one that I've ever had. It had toons of meat, cheese, mushrooms and onions. The onion rings were also very good. I'm hooked! read more

This place was pretty good! We enjoyed the chili cheese fries, hot dog, fried macaroni, and bacon cheeseburger! I would have to say I would have never thought I'd find this treasure in a Walmart! Words of advice have the staff work on giving receipt to customer and speaking up. The young kid had tough time reviewing and getting our order right. He also had rubber gloves on and constantly keep reaching around his waist pulling his pants up. I cringe when I see someone touching food and touching below their waist. I was happy to see the other guy with the beard prepared and delivered our food. Aprons and some kind of food handling class would be the reason for a the 4 star review! Almost turned around when I pulled up and discovered it was inside a Walmart, so glad I didn't. The two burgers we had were high quality with some tasty beef. Fries are really good by themselves too, didn't care for the chili on top of them though. The girl working was super nice and polite, the guy at the counter was the opposite. read more

I've had such great customer service from the people who work here. They are friendly and hard working. The burgers are great and I love the fried pickles. My daughter, who doesn't eat meat, loves that they serve the Impossible burger. Will keep coming back. read more

Do you like very subpar food, long wait times, and a dirty work environment? Then WayBack burgers is the place for you! The staff although nice and welcoming are very slow at what they do. I would not recommend this place to anyone in a hurry or just trying to get stuff done in general. My husband and I went in after shopping at Walmart and were BLOWN-AWAY with the fantastic food this place serves!!! We are old enough to remember the old fashioned soda fountain menu's, where huge cheeseburgers and real ice cream shakes were done right, fresh and taste fantastic. We are working our way thru the entire menu, but so far my FAV is the classic cheeseburger and the chipolte cheese steak is unbelievably Delicious! The onion rings are handmade there and the real deal, and the fries are to die for. The place is clean and rarely crowded, and they serve you right to your table if you dine in and don't take out. Honestly, this is surprise for Shelbyville, were there is rarely any franchise creativity in restaurants beyond chicken joints (of which there are 4 in close proximity to one another!), and only 1 McDonald's ...no Quiznos anymore or decent sub shops - someone please bring a REAL DELI to Shelbyville ! It would be a huge HIT, but in the meantime, thank God for WAYBACK ! read more

The food is above average. The first visit I was not greeted very well and felt like I was bothering the cashier when I ordered. I came back the following day and had a much better experience with the same cashier. Like the rest of us maybe she was having a bad day. Good recovery on my second visit. read more
