WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I spent over $25,000 having new air conditioning installed at my home. They mistakenly put an $89 charge for the first "sales call" on my bill. They have told me over and over that this was a mistake and it would be removed. FOUR MONTHS LATER, I continue to get collection calls and emails from them, despite my repeated emails and phone calls to them, including to their sales manager Mike Lombardi who does not even have the courtesy to respond. I warned them this was coming but they just don't care. Total silence and disregard for their customer. I will never be using Fenwick Waychoff again. I guess this is what happens when private equity takes over and makes a company too big and too profit focused. read more

Tech came out because my AC stopped working. Air Handler was good but the outside unit the fan stopped running. He put his meter up to the compressor and it read BAD. Within 5 minutes of being there. You need a new compressor that is $2800 to fix. He recommended getting a new one for $10-15K since the unit was 9.5 years old. I told him let me think about it. Called another local company and got it running and all it needed was a capacitor. I suggest to question them and make sure you get a second opinion if you call them. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This company has gone downhill the past two years. Customer service is a joke with them. I have called them out 4-5 times to get my ac fixed. They kept coming out saying nothing was wrong but my house would still get up to 80. after calling them out several times I had another company come out and due an inspection. They found the issue right off the back. So then I called Waychoff due to me having a warranty and lo and behold they come back out and say nothing is wrong again. I am paying over 15000 dollars on an a/c that is not working this is ridiculous. I called them yesterday to come out to fix the issue again and they said they would be out today between 10-2pm. So 3 pm rolls around and no one showed, no text no email no call. So I called them back and the person who I spoke with stated my appointment is for Monday not today. Then I explained to her that when I called the night before they told me it would be the next day. The lady on the phone then laughed at me and said well that's not happening because they are completely booked out. This has been by far the worse experience I have had with any company. Now I'm scared to have them come out cause they might mess with my unit and make me pay more. The tech came out and said I had a freon leak and it was $129 per pound. He stated it would cost over $500 just to find out where the leak was. I contacted another smaller company & the charged me $299 and found NO LEAK. Not to mention, they showed dirty pictures of my HVAC, that Waychoff's should have cleaned 2 days earlier when they were here. Do not recommend. Terrible customer service. They overcharged us for the past two years. We've called customer service, and the problem still isn't resolved.

(Invoice# 361260) 2024/4/22 - New Daikin dz4se installed with 10-year labor and part warranty. The heating / cooling had not been on. I guess because outside temperatures were not cold/ hot enough to test if it worked. 2024/6/07 - After 1.5 months, We found that the A/C temperature did not reach the set temperature. The thermostat reading and actual room temperature are higher than what we set. We set the target temperature 75, but the house gets hotter at the afternoon up to 79 or 80 degrees. So I put a thermometer next to the thermostat and it read the same. Technician X's findings: Blamed on user that "the unit not cooling well due to filter dirty, delta t 19f, explained maintenance duties and explained future maintenance related issues will not be eligible for warranty... blah blah blah." After he left, the inside temperature had never met the set temperature. (Technician X - Problem not Fixed) 2024/6/16 - We paid extra service for the Air Duct Cleaning about $150 . The A/C had never met the set temperature. 2024/8/29 - The A/C system was down. We had to call Waychoff again. This time they sent the technician Antonio Moore that did a great work in finding the problems of the AC system itself. (1) A minimum repair for an HVAC system addresses the essential, (2) Replace Dual Capacitor - P&L Warranty. Since then, the Heating/ Cooling worked well for about 11 months. (Technician Anthony Moore - Problem Fixed) 2025/7/19 - (Technician Y - Problem Not Fixed) The entire system was down again. (The set temperature has not met since June. We did the filter change and regular maintenance by ourselves as recommended.) The inside temperature was 92 when the technician arrived. His findings: he blamed on the user that that the problem was a maintenance issue not equipment. He also sold the services for "Drain Solve", 360 comfort + 8 years Annual Membership, and we paid $350. After he left, the inside temperature has never been met the set temperature every afternoon up to now. It goes up to 81 today. We paid $9k for a AC/ Heat system, but it has been having problems in a year. Even one of the technicians Anthony Moore did a really good job to get the unit fixed last year, but for the quality of the system, I have to give 1-star especially the latest appointment did not fix the problem read more

They not only were able to service the unit the same day, but they arrived with-in 2 hours. The system was working in one hour. Their service person was knowledgeable and courteous. The cost to repair was small. I recommend this company. Waychoff had a app that follows the service truck so you can see when they are arriving at your home. I've worked with Waychoff's Heating and Air since 2019 and every technician that has come out has been polite, courteous, and on time. The first tech I worked with in 2019 ended up being my sales person when I needed to get a full system replacement month. The experience was fantastic and I thought the price was really nice. The sales process was really easy and no pressure. They did prompt follow up and overall really took great care of the situation. While they were here, one of the tax accidentally broke the backyard hose faucet. They had a plumber out within an hour, and the whole thing was fixed at no cost to me. 11/10 would recommend. read more

I used to use Air McCall, and I've had nothing but trouble since they merged with Waychoff. I was quoted for some work incorrectly and when it was done, the cost was about $2,000 more than was quoted, and they just kind of shrugged and said "whatever." They advertise same-day service and can't deliver (it's understandable in this heat, but stop saying it, then!) No preference or discounts for Comfort Club members. As soon as my prepaid maintenances are done, I'm switching to Snyder's. These people are terrible! Update 8/22/23: Still having issues with my system. Getting automatic emails from Carrier Infinity system about settings and profiles being changed on my system by my local technicians. Tried to contact Carrier directly and was left on hold. Decided to try calling Waychoff again and prayed I wouldn't get the same person. No luck. This lady is dispatch, she doesn't understand the system, and she's asking all kinds of questions about it, talking over me. I told her I needed to speak with a technician because I wasn't interested in explaining how the system worked to her and she said they had all gone home for the day. We contacted Waychoff's to take a look at my HVAC system because the home was getting very humid, although the system was cooling the home. Jerald assessed that the blower motor was constantly on and needed to be replace. Fortunately the part was under warranty for the 3.5 year old Carrier unit that was installed by the original company Air McCall on Jan 2021. Unfortunately, the labor cost was $840, which was a rip off. When asked why the labor cost was so high, Jerald just played dumb and basically said "that's what the people in Pennsylvania just tell us". But after all, he's just a pawn in the whole corporate scam. My wife called the company and was asking for a breakdown on why the labor cost for 30-45 mins of labor was so high. A lot of vague answers with no clarity. And supposedly a service manager was suppose to call back, but we know that's not going to happen. Jerald also then started talking about how the blower motor under warranty was a $2800 part, which is also bogus. Like really? You can do better than that, Jerald. Needless to say, we hate that our original installer Air McCall was bought by some corporate machine and is now charging outrageous prices. Had it not been that we had family evacuating to our home that day because of Hurricane Milton, we would have spent the extra day or two looking for a much more competitive price. We had a brand new HVAC system installed on June 16,2021. Since then we have had 17 service calls to repair our defective system. We have had to replace three blower motors, four control boards, a capacitor on the condensor, a contactor on the heat kit, the evaporator coil on the air handler, and 10 lbs of refrigerant at $105 per pound. We have spent nearly $5,000 out of pocket on AC repairs and our system is barely 3 years old. To make matters much worse, we recently discovered the air handler is leaking water through our ceiling which has caused severe water damage to our home. The system is still leaking and we have tried to contact Waychoff's three times in the last 2 weeks for help. We have been completely ignored. Brand new HVAC system 2021 17 service calls 3 blower motors replaced 4 control boards replaced Capacitor on the condensor replaced Heat kit contactor replaced Evaporator coil replaced 10lbs of refrigerant replaced $5,000 out of pocket for AC repairs Severe water damage to home yet to be repaired AC still broken! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We called them at the beginning of October because our air wasn't blowing cold. They ended up cleaning the coils. They charged us a "minimum fee" of $385. We had to call again a month later, same issues. This time they needed to flush the lines. This time it was a "minimum fee" $427. Would not honor previous work. I paid because I didn't want to get into a pissing match with the technician, because it wasn't his issue. Now, same issue again, but now it's cold outside. Each time those fees purportedly covered a diagnostic fee, but apparently they still couldn't diagnose the problem, because it's still not working. She indicated there would be an $89.00 diagnostic fee, if the issue was other than warranty related. An appointment was set up for between Noon and 4 PM [today]. About 1 PM - Waychoff e-mailed and texted information about their repairman [Cale Gilbert], and when to expect his arrival [tracking link for repairman's vehicle]. 2 PM - Waychoff's repairman [Cale Gilbert] arrived. We discussed my perceived issue ["Aux Heat On" message displayed, repeatedly, on thermostat display screen]. After checking the compressor, the representative believed that the issue was a coolant leak. He searched for and found a leak in the air handler Evaporator Coil. The part was ordered and the system was set up so that we could use the Aux Heat in the air handler, if necessary. We were told to expect that the part should be made available tomorrow [Monday], and that a new repair appointment would be coordinated by Waychoff. 3 PM - Waychoff's repairman departed our location. Monday, 12/9/24 9:30 AM - Waychoff's representative [Christine], contacted us by phone. She said that the required replacement Evaporator Coil was available. She scheduled a repair appointment for the following day [Tuesday], between 10 AM and 2 PM. Tuesday, 12/10/24 11:20 AM - We received both a text and an e-mail about the repairman [Cale Gilbert], and when to expect his arrival [tracking link for repair vehicle provided]. 12:00 PM - The repairman [Cale Gilbert] arrived and proceeded to remove and replace the Evaporator Coil in the air handler. After replacement, the coolant pressure lines were leak checked, evacuated [ensuring no extraneous gas (specifically moisture) was in the lines], and then refilled with coolant. Upon completion of his work, Cale cleaned the work areas. 4:20 PM - Work was completed. Associated paperwork was provided. Cale departed the house. Excellent communication, scheduling, timeliness, follow-up, and repair. FYI - the work was covered by warranty [no charge for evaluation, parts, or labor]. read more

We were promised that this expensive unit would solve out humidity problems. 4 months later with multiple visits by service techs the unit is still not performing. When we call Waycoff management they just hide behind the receptionist and and are never willing to take our calls. Based on other online reviews I can see we are not the only unhappy customer. We are not trying to use the Waycoff satisfaction guarantee which I uploaded. It is not even worth the paper its written on. RIP OFF ARTIST!! BUYER BEWARE!! Jacksonville, FL. The night family arrived in June from up north the air is blowing warm through the vents. Waychoff's was first to arrive, so I gave them the job to fix it. Tech said he replaced 2 capacitors in my pump outside and charged me over $600. After watching a few videos on YouTube, I learned how to do it myself and also found out Caps cost $13 and $15 each and could have replaced myself in 15 minutes (lesson learned). A few weeks later my neighbor tells me my unit outside is making a noise when it first starts up. I heard it once and before I could look into it that weekend, the air was warm again. Opened the unit and found of my 2 caps one was nice, shiny and new, while the other as old, corroded, swollen top and the bottom had blown out. The noise was the cap arcing. The tech had charged me for 2 caps and only replaced one. From the videos I learned my caps and had both on hand so fixed it myself in 30 min. Now I keep one of each cap on hand to repair cheap and with minimal downtime. Called to complain and never received a call back. read more

Waychoff merged with McCall AC, which is where I bought a new, highly recommended Carrier AC 3 years ago. Since then, the fan capacitor has failed, and more recently the compressor failed. That means the whole outside unit died in just a few years, and I had to pay dearly (again) to get it working. Fixing the compressor, which was supposedly under warranty, cost us more than $2,400 to repair. It took two different service calls to Waychoff's. The first call, a tech came out and checked everything, reporting that there was no reason why we were roasting in our house while the AC is on constantly. He decided it was the drain backing up, which it wasn't because I treat the drain monthly, and blow it out every 6 months. I was relieved it wasn't an expensive fix, so the tech took advantage and upsold me to the tune of $800+. He said I had some mold inside the blower housing, and if I would buy a maintenance agreement, it would lower the price of a uv light and that day's repairs. That night, we still couldn't get the house cool so I called them again. This time, it was the 3 year old compressor, which would cost $1,600 in labor to replace. I asked about the warranty and the maintenance agreement I had been sold a few days prior, and was told the part is covered, but not the labor. So after paying the second tech what amounted to $500 an hour, we finally had a working AC. In all, I had to pay $2,400 to fix my 3 year old, $4,500 AC. The reason I bought the new AC in the first place was so I wouldn't have to worry about the 12 year old TRANE that was causing minor problems. I wish the lemon law applied to HVAC. I'm 100% disabled veteran on a fixed income, so this unexpected cost really hit us hard. My advice? Avoid Waychoff's and avoid Carrier. Find a reputable company to do business with. read more

Why would you not just suggest that vs charging us an ungodly amount of money for Freon? I would think you'd want the business ($3500- for a new Trane unit) vs ($760) for Freon. Knew they screwed us over so we bought the new AC unit from Florida Cooling Store, Inc- they are reputable and don't overcharge their customers. I do not recommend companies that knowingly charge you for something (Freon) then turn around and give you a ridiculous estimate. Just out to make money. read more

Last Friday our AC, a Bryant unit bought from Waychoff with 5 years left off of the warranty. First they said someone would be out that afternoon to look at it. I got a call back about an hour later that said they would be out Saturday afternoon. The tech comes out, for a quoted 89.95 and then charge 139.95 (two phone calls got me the difference refunded) and after looking at it for less than 5 minutes says the fan motor is out and will need to be replace. He says they will have to order a fan motor on Monday morning, He also said I could get a non-warranty fan motor then but it would cost $16-1700 plus installation. I called on Monday afternoon and was told the part would be in on Wednesday or Thursday. It is now a week later and they still don't have the part, which will cost me $430 to install. These warranties aren't much these days. I would steer clear of Waychoff, which is now owned by a group called Strikepoint, if you possibly can. read more

Our home had a new Bryant system installed on September 27th, 2019 for the amount of $4,449.21. The work was completed as contracted and the unit performed well. Our "comfort consultant" was Rusty Winter. The following issues took place over a short period of time: June 18th, 2021 - Low voltage short repair $153 plus $89 dispatch fee. April 24th, 2022 - Installed new thermostat (warranty Honeywell pro 8K) $251 plus $89 dispatch fee. May 5th, 2022 - Bad capacitor (warranty DPFEC) replaced $152 plus $89 dispatch fee. March 18th, 2023 - low voltage short, diagnostics, replaced contactor, replaced thermostat $415 and dispatch fee was waved due to technician rescheduling from 17th appointment. (This is a total of almost $1,000 not including the dispatch fees, 25% of the total cost of the unit on repairs on a 3.5 year old system.) My wife and I are confused about the quality of the equipment we have installed. Our prior unit lasted for almost 20 years with only a few minor issues. When it eventually needed replacing it was mostly component efficiency and price of upkeep that prompted us to purchase the new heat pump and air handler from you. The individual component failure and wiring issues causing low voltage shorts are outside of the expected parameters of the equipment. The average home ac unit capacitor and thermostat have a performance expectancy of 10-20 years when installed new. We understand our expectations may be skewed when it comes to electronic specifications for modern component based equipment. However, we would like to be better informed on our systems performance. First the fan motor had to be replaced. Then on two occasions they said system is low on coolant and replaced but refuse to fix the issue. Now we're told legally can't replace coolant again. Why Is the even an issue on a brand new system. Running the ac on low coolant is destroying the system. We've reported to BBB and plan to hire an attorney. Run as fast as you can from Waychoff! Waychoff was the second business I called after waiting a full day for an appointment time from the first company. Waychoff was able to assure me on the phone that someone would be out by 7PM on a Sunday to fix my unit and they held up that. After almost two full days without AC I am very thankful they were able to get that done. Their employee, Jomar, was professional and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed my unit in under 15 minutes and even took the extra time to run my AC serial number to see if it was under warranty to save me money with the manufacturer. I really appreciate his time, even after fixing the unit, Jomar patiently waited for the house to start cooling to confirm that the job was done and that we would be able to sleep comfortably. That is the pinnacle of customer service, on a Sunday at 9PM he was patiently waiting for my AC to cool and can't express how much my family and I appreciate that level of commitment. I see that they don't have stellar reviews on Yelp but are very highly rated on Google. Not sure why the drastic difference. Either way, I highly recommend Waychoff based on my experience with them today. read more

I am not one to write negative reviews. I prefer to handle things more professionally; however, I am unable to get Waychoff's to return calls or reply to emails. For that reason, I am posting this review. I know it is long, but if you are considering using Waycohff's, please read this entire review, and check multiple review sources, not just Google. I had heard a couple of positive things from people who had the company replace their AC units (Not maintenance agreements though). When I was looking for a new company to enter a maintenance agreement with, I contacted Waychoff's. Their service was reasonably priced and the person I spoke with was very professional. I paid for my maintenance agreement, received a paid invoice, and scheduled my service. The night before they were to come, they canceled on me. I received a text at 7:45pm that they were no longer coming. Late notice, but I understood that emergencies come up. I called the next day to reschedule. The next appointment was one that I could not be present for because of work, but my son would be here. They were fine with that and we both stated that everything was paid for so there would be no issues. When the technician arrived, he performed the services but at the end of the service told my son I still owed an additional $59.00. Being a young adult and not in these situations, my son didn't really question him and paid the additional amount. He received no invoice and was told that one would be emailed to me. To this day, I still have no invoice, but the money is out of my bank account. When I got home from work and found out, I contacted the company. The person on the line said that it would take at least 12 business hours for the company to research the issue and that someone would call me within a couple of days. Not exactly what you want to hear when someone takes money from you that you don't owe, but I waited. After two days, I called the company back. After 2 more days, I called again and got the same type of response. I called one more time yesterday after the money has still not been returned to my account. Please know that you cannot contact billing or customer relations directly. In all cases, I was told I would receive a call back. Eight days later, I have yet to have anyone call me even though I have contacted them by phone 3 times and sent an email. The response that I got to the email and all phone calls was that someone would be calling me. I am posting this review to warn people that if you have an issue, you will not receive a response in any type of timely manner or maybe not at all. I am not writing a negative review about the technician, although the company did tell me it was his mistake for charging me. I would say that he was just doing what they told him to do. And the company's technical abilities may be great, but their customer service is a real problem if you have an issue. I am not sure about a company where you cannot speak to billing or customer relations directly. This "someone will call you back and I cannot transfer you" doesn't leave me feeling very comfortable. I am sorry to have to post this review. I have tried my best to deal with it internally. However, we all work hard for our money and can't afford to pay for things we don't owe. I purchased a new Amana system, with extended parts and labor warranties from Waychoff's for 7,737.45 in May, 2022 before they sold to Strikepoint Group Holdings headquartered in Newark, DE, in Dec. 2022. This August, the system quit working. I could not get an appointment sooner than 5 days even though I explained that I was elderly with extenuating medical problems. I resorted to calling David Grsy, who came out that evening. The technician showed me that ice had built up inside of the system and that it was probably caused by a problem with the blower. He could not do anything until the ice melted but also, he urged me to allow Waychoff's to resolve due to the warranties involved. He couldn't belive that they wouldn't have some protocols for dealing with customers on an emergency basis. I tried again, but W would not come sooner. When the tech finally came, he said there was nothing wrong with blower, or with anything else. He suggested that I get a dehumidifier, which I did, and he set the temperature higher. After a few days, it quit again. I was able to get an appointment for the next day as I tried to make the case that since the original problem was not resolved, they shouldn't be put to the back of the line. I turned off the a/c so that it would not be frozen and the technician could work on it when he arrived. To conclude, the tech wrote up his report that there was never anything wrong with my a/c. That he had been out twice and neither time was my system frozen up. He told me that I should have taken pictures of it to prove it actually did freeze up. (As if I'm a crazy person.) I wrote an email to his boss, (who was using a Fenwick email address) but rec'd no response. I boosted the temp to 76; it's working, but the problem remains. I bought a BMW and was given a Kia? I don't know, except that this is the first time I've ever been accused of being crazy - who would subject themselves to sweltering 99 degree Temps for attention? I would NEVER recommend Waychoff's/Strikepoint. I called Friday and was told the earliest appointment they have is Sun between 10am-2pm. Woke up Sun morning just before 9am to messages saying that the tech was on my property. When I went out no one was there. When I called back I was told that "because I wasn't available when they came they have to reschedule me AFTER everyone else and it won't be until maybe after 6pm." The dispatcher actually blamed me for NOT being available more than hour BEFORE my scheduled appointment. Since I didn't answer my phone at 830am to confirm that I was willing to accept an earlier appointment, they put me last on the list. How is that good customer service? read more

Waychoff's customer service manager contacted me and rectified the problem in a way that was satisfactory to me. I was pleasantly surprised on the quick turn around I received. Everyone deserves a second chance and I will do that. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! Waychoff's tried to convince me to spend $4K on a part that would have done NOTHING to fix my AC leak. I am glad I decided to get a second opinion from a better company! The leak was easy for the other company's technician to find and the repair was relatively inexpensive. Also, Waychoff's does not return phone calls. I tried to speak to a manager on Tuesday and was told they would call me back. I tried again on Friday (was on hold for about 15 minutes) and still didn't get to talk to a manager. UPDATE 5/3: Management finally left me a voice mail, but when I try calling them back, they do not take my call. I have been waiting for weeks to speak with a manager. read more

Called Saturday and when the tech came he said that we should replace our 6 year old unit just because it was low on Freon. After we said no he told us that it would be OVER $3000.00 to charge our unit after we told him no he came down to $1800.00. We had to pay we needed A/C just had knee replacement did not have much of a choice. I will send a complaint to the BBB and I wish there was a lower rating than 1 star. Joe read more

I replaced 2 units the first of Aug. have been unhappy. I think I was over promised, they haven't been able to get the humidity down unless I run it to cold for my comfort. have never had this issue before, my 8 and 9th units over the years. But the receptionist that answers the phone is rude. The policy they have in place is horrible. You cannot talk to anyone you ask for but they will email them and have them get back to you which doesn't happen. We bought a Bryant system from Waychoff less than 2-1/2 years ago and I've had 2 technicians come out for service calls in less than three weeks. First call out they changed out a capacitor in the compressor because the heater wouldn't cutoff and yesterday after well over an hour of troubleshooting I'm told that we need a new Thermostat for $400. Ironically, the first guy said capacitors usually last about 2 years AND yesterday the guy tells me the Thermostat they installed went out of warranty after 2 years. I was told that the capacitor was not under warranty but...the following was on their invoice: "Task # Diag warrantycap Envfee Description This is the fee charged to come to your residence and troubleshoot the problem. Labor to change out the warranty part, process the paperwork and return the bad part This fee covers the cost of performing our duties while maintaining a clean and safe environment as well as the disposal of non environment friendly products." Read before you sign... 1/28/2022 "I find and agree that all work performed by Waychoff's Heating And Air Conditioning has been completed in a satisfactory and workmanlike manner. I have been given the opportunity to address concerns and/or discrepancies in the work provided, and I either have no such concerns or have found no discrepancies or they have been addressed to my satisfaction. My signature here signifies my full and final acceptance of all work performed by the contractor." (Really? Again, read before you sign. I've requested several times to get something that show what is or isn't included in the warranties. (Air Handler, Compressor and Thermostat) For some reason this information was not supplied with this unit and I have yet to see one. This was our first AND last time we will use Waycoff's! There are are way too many good HVAC contractors in Jacksonville to settle for mediocrity. read more

Beware! First tech they sent to do some duct work repair/replacement said I should do the work myself to save money. I am a 70 year-old man and the attic is just exposed ceiling rafters. My AC. went out that evening so he came back next day and had to repair the outside unit. He didn't even realize my unit was under warranty and charged me as if it wasn't. (I only found out about the unit still under warranty when the second tech came out). Also, I was quoted a price for the duct work repair, by first tech, but when the second tech came out the price jumped $100. Waycoff did refund part of my money but not full amount. I also had asked that they refund the service charge by the first tech and they would not. read more
