You walk in and the entire staff is sitting at all the tables on the phone. Great no worries .... Order wings and leave the restaurant to go buy something next door. Wait in my car and as 20 min have gone by I walk in to get my order ... as I'm waiting behind the line ... I see them discussing my order in another language (make it less obvious guys) and i see a man (no gloves) reach in to fridge and dump wings in fryer. Used to order their pizza before and forgot why we stopped going. Charged me 25.5$ for a 20$ pizza before tip didn't add up so asked for an itemized receipt. The guy looked confused and upset. got the receipt for the half cheese half buffalo chicken large pizza they charged me $23 before tax when the large chicken pizza was 20$...upon asking the guy he said oh we charged you 3% extra for using a card.. wrong math...other guy said that we charged you more because you ordered half and half...the third guy said we charged you the price of the more expensive chicken pizza.. finally they all saw that the guy charged me 3$ extra for no reason and handed me $3 in cash. So get your itemized receipt at this restaurant to make sure they don't overcharge you. Got home and had pizza with unmelted cheese on top (attached pic). I have been ordering take- out food from Wayland Pizza for several years. Since 1-2 years ago, there has been a new group of employees there, and they are nice, professional and helpful. I order food for a family of five with different food sensitivities and preferences, and our orders have been accurate, which is greatly appreciated. Like many small pizza restaurants, they have an amazing selection of foods, including Italian, Greek and basic American. The pizza crust and sauce is very good. Two people in my family love the Chicken Alfredo with broccoli calzone. I love the eggplant subs, meatballs and pizza with eggplant, and Greek salad. And the baclava is delicious! I look forward to trying new items on the menu. As I mentioned, it is a small place, but it does have some tables if you want to sit and eat. read more

Well I stopped in the other day and ordered pizza and although the pizza was just as good as we have had before the service was meh, not very welcoming, abrupt and the most upsetting was the guy making the pizza had NO MASK on! They even have a sign posted inside that all workers will wear masks. Vulgar people. I ordered a calzone, and they told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I returned, and they said it was not ready yet. They told me it was in the oven and required more time, but it was not in range and not even prepared to put in the oven. I said it was ok if you told me 20-30 min but do not lie to me, please. Wouldnt come back here if it was free, place is covered in flies litterally every table i sat had numerous flies, steak and cheese was absolutely disgusting, both me and my coworker threw them away after one bite right in front of the workers. Noone even cared why we were throwing them away. If you drive by wondering if this gas station sub shop is any good, keep driving its not. Not a huge fan of the pizza, but everything else is quite amazing. Huge menu with many great items. Always greeted by a friendly staff.

This is the third time we have ordered burgers only to have delivered a bun and a patty. No lettuce, tomato, condiments...., nothing! Pizza used to be loaded, barely has meat on it now. Not sure I'll ever order again. Once is a mistake, three times is poor business. read more

When I was in high school, I always thought Liberty Pizza was the way to go. Now, being (much) older and (a little) wiser, I like Wayland Pizza House. The last time I was visiting Wayland we ordered two large pies (I've been in NYC for over a decade. I say "pies" now.) and they were so good! Well, I say "they," but I only had the peppers and onions one. The other one was some kind of meaty sausage delight, and I don't eat animals anymore. However, it was gone a lot faster than the P&O. Anyway, I'm definitely a thin, skinny, barely there crust kind of person. This is the one time that a slightly thicker crust was okay by me. It wasn't doughy, and it actually tasted good! The sauce was good, too, and I have very high standards for sauce now. The other thing was the $12 for a large pie! With toppings! What? I guess I'm used to NYC prices now. So cheap! So anyway, WPH. My first order of broccoli bites and chicken cutler grinder was meh. Standard bordering on sub-standard Greek sub shop. Tonight, I ordered for the second time and I will not be ordering again. I ordered mozzarella sticks and pasta with chicken parm through Eat24. I placed the order at 7:50pm expecting to eat around 8:45. I got a notification on my phone (love Eat24!) that my order should arrive around 8:25pm. Awesome! So, when it became 8:50pm, my food hadn't arrived, and it had been an hour, I reached out to Eat24. Eat24 called the restaurant, who told them that the driver was in a car accident. I truly don't know if this is true or not. This is the 4th time this year that I've been told (by various restaurants) that my order was late due to a car accident, so I am a little suspicious.But anyways, I was told the new driver was estimated to be 5-10 minutes out. After another 20 minutes, I asked to cancel my order. In between the time I asked to cancel my order and Eat24 called the restaurant, the food was delivered. I accepted the cold, long overdue food because I didn't know what else to do. I figured either I or the restaurant would work it out with Eat24, since I paid through them. I close the door, I sit down, I start typing the predicament to Eat24... and the doorbell rings again. It's the driver, and he puts me on the phone with the owner(?), who asks me to pay again since the order was cancelled. I tell him I'd frankly rather return the food, and he said okay. I went to get the food and when I came back with it, I was told just to keep it. I asked if they were sure, and they said yes. So... okay. Thanks, I guess. But... onto the food. Being more than an hour late may have something to do with this, but nonetheless: The mozzarella sticks were just gross. More of a batter than breadcrumbs, and the cheese, long since solidified, was grainy. Upside, the marinara was pretty good, though (of course) cold. The salad that comes with the pasta had a handful of carrots, one cherry tomato, one kalamata olive, and four pieces of lettuce. They could have at least filled the soup cup with a few more pieces of lettuce. The garlic bread that comes with the pasta was actually tasty, though could have used more garlic. The bread was very soggy and chewy, although you could tell that the edges had, at one point, been toasted (the toast didn't seem to reach the middle though). But again, could be the fact that it sat out for at least an extra hour. The chicken parm had lots of cheese. All of it solidified on the cover and pulled the breading off the chicken. Chicken tenders, by the way, not a real cutlet. The ziti was, of course, soggy and overcooked. Just no part of the experience makes me want to go back. read more

First time back here in a couple years - and I had a much better experience this time. The bacon cheeseburger was pretty good, tasty bun and toppings, but the patty was a bit plain and overdone. The experience here was awful, we ordered $50 in food where the delivery guy did not want to give change when given over $10 extra, then just to have the delivery guy drop one of the whole bags and food went everywhere. We then called and explained what happened and they said they would send over another order. The same delivery guy came back and then proceeded to start a fight with us. We called the store back to inform him just for the manager to be extremely rude and cutting us off as we tried to explain the situation. We're new to Wayland and therefore are in 'exploration mode' as we make our way around town and check out all the local establishments. Supporting local businesses is important to us, however our experience with Wayland Pizza has been nothing short of disappointing. The person taking our order couldn't have cared less that it was our first time ordering with them. When I asked the person what he recommended on the menu (we didn't have any menus, there aren't any online), he simply said "everything". Quite helpful. Although their delivery time was exactly as advertised, the food quality was not up to our typical fare. The pizza was too doughy and overloaded with greasy cheese (!) and their wings dipped in too much batter. We might try them again since I believe every establishment should get two shots, however there simply are too many great places we want to visit first. read more

TWO times we were significantly short changed, by dollars not change, and when it was pointed out - no apology. Great no nonsense, old-school, Greek style neighborhood pizza. I order from them often especially when I have company and my guests have always remarked about the great pizza. I always get three to four toppings with extra cheese with our pies here. The guys behind the counter are always friendly, personable and often asks about my family. I've eaten here many times. The large subs are LARGE and filled with what you ask for. They have great onion rings! I usually call ahead, and generally my order is waiting for me.
