Dr. Tang and his team are amazing! My mother went in for an emergency extraction of three teeth and Lupe, the Office Manager, did her best to schedule her appointment as soon as possible. This is my first time writing YELP review.., Have been visiting Dr. Tang's clinic past few weeks for "Deep Cleaning" procedure and I am really impressed and amazed by the professionalism displayed by Mr. Mandeep, the dental hygienist. Mr. Mandeep is extremely patient and soft spoken and makes it a point to listen and answer all your Q's and gives you a detailed explanation of the procedure to follow. For a person (ME) who has not seen a dentist for over 14 years... this was quite a pleasant experience and he was able to talk to me and reduce my anxiety completely (I have had a terrible experience in the past... 14 years ago). By my third cleaning session I got so comfortable with the technique, that I was fast asleep (snoring actually) while Mr. Mandeep conducted the cleaning. Now, I look forward to the tooth extraction and replacement by Dr. Tang and I am assured I am in good care. Cheers!! read more

Dr. Tang was a very nice dentist but I'm a bit iffy on the cleaning part. The front desk was very quick and efficient. No complaints at all. Wait wasn't long either, only about 10 minutes after filling forms and stuff. As for the cleaning, the flossing was done much quicker than I do it myself and it felt like everything was just run over quickly. Compared to the dentist I use to go to, I didn't leave feel like my pearly whites were that clean. read more

I went to Dr. Tang because he's the closest dentist to my house, and because a roommate said he had a good experience there. I hadn't been to a dentist in years, so I was nervous what Dr. Tang might find. I went in, the hygienist cleaned me thoroughly, took X-rays swiftly, and lectured me on the need to floss more, which I deserved. Towards the end of the cleaning, Dr. Tang came by and found a small cavity, which was a bummer. But I got an appointment for the following week at a time that was very convenient. The scariest part about getting a filling here is that after you get your painless shot of novacain (numbing gel is first applied to where the needle goes so you don't feel it), Dr. Tang heads off for about 10 minutes while your mouth gets numb. When he comes back, he asks if you're fully numb yet. That's the hardest question, because you think you're numb, but if you're really not, then the drilling is going to really hurt. So you cross your fingers that you're a good judge as to what "fully numb" really means and nod. Fortunately, it turned out that I really was fully numb, so the procedure was quick and painless. Dr. Tang is great. Everytime I come here, the wait has been no longer than 5 minutes. If you read my review about Dr. Beauchamp's, I'm not use to anything less than 2 hours. Sad. It's funny because everytime he's working on me, he tries to get to know me by asking me questions but I can barely talk with all the dental utensils in my mouth. Hahaha. I forget who I had but another time I came, one of the other dentists did my cleaning and she was super friendly too. I've been coming here for 13 years!!! As a kid I dreaded the visit to the dentist. I would even "play" hide and seek with my parents hoping they won't find me to take me to the scary dentist! When I started coming to Dr. Tang in high school, I had no more fears of the dentist! The way Dr. Tang cleans your teeth makes you feel like your gums got a nice massage. It's like a spa treatment for your mouth! He also never has hidden fees so walking in and out is always so easy! I moved to the South Bay two years ago and have switched optometrists but I never want to switch my dentist, even with my 1.5 to 2 hour commute to make my weekday appointments! Dr Tang is also fluent in Cantonese so he makes Asian parents feel comfortable. His staff is usually bilingual (Spanish) and are really sweet people. Oh and the toothbrush, floss, travel size toothpaste you get every time with your regular check-ups are super handy too! read more

I just went to see Dr. Tang for my semi-annual teeth cleaning. What can you say about a dentist...staff is friendly. Dr. Tang is friendly. His office is comfortable. It's kind of hard to hold a conversation when he's scraping your teeth, so a slight nod, since you don't want him to miss. I always get the reminder postcard and the phone call and the free toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss. He doesn't try to do anything that's not necessary nor does he try to use up your dental coverage. He seems to sincerely care about your teeth and offers suggestions on brushing if he sees an area that's being neglected. He's also convenient since he has an office in Castro Valley and San Leandro, so I can see him whether I'm close to home or work. Yay! read more

If one has to go to the dentist, one is lucky to go to Dr. Tang's office. Clean place (disinfectant between clients), amazing staff (they'll remember everything you ever told them, including who you've dated forever). No one's pushing unnecessary procedures on you, and they handle your insurance company for you (phew- who wants to deal with that stuff???). I get a bit anxious at the dentist, so Dr. Tang let's me hold the suction (and use it- gurgle). He tells his assistant that it's because I'm a nurse, but we all know that it's my way to retain some control... read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Tang for over 10 years and even though I've relocated to Los Angeles, my whole family still go to see Dr. Tang whenever we drive up to visit the in-laws. I was surprised by one of the negative review because Dr. Tang is always very attentive and takes the time to answer all my questions. He is also great with my little boy and makes him feel comfortable and relax during his checkups. The office is clean with lots of magazine to read in the reception area although I don't recall ever having to wait very long to see Dr. Tang. I would highly recommend Dr. Tang. My family and I have been going to him for years now. We recommended him to all our family and friends because he has done such a great job with us. As far as dental work for seniors, I would not recommend this dentist. Further, what an insurance mess!! It is 19 months later and the receptionist just billed me for what my insurance company would have paid! They let paperwork sit for months then decide to bill me for their procrastination and to top it off started adding late charges. This June I got my insurance company to call her to resolve the matter, but they said she never sent the necessary paper work they requested. Now billing me for THE LATE FEES TOTAL $60!! read more

Strange review by the Beverly Hills couple! I just returned from Dr. Tang's office and had my permanent crown installed. Went to Dr. Tang after reading most of his reviews (which most were a couple of years old). His office is small and outdated. Staff was very nice however Dr.Tang himself was short and seemed rushed. Im used to dentist who take their time to answer my questions and appricate my business. My husband also went to Dr. Tang and he felt the exact same about his service. Looks like Ill be heading back to the South Bay to Dr. Bittner's office where they have new technology and Excellent service!!! read more

i came in here a little while ago to get a check up. i haven't been to the dentist in a while (bad me) so i was a little nervous about how many cavities i've since conjured up. i was able to get an appt within the next week! the office was easy to find (in the corner of the plaza), and very clean. lots of magazines to choose from. dr.tang did my teeth cleaning himself. and to my surprise, i had zero cavities!! mark the day!!!! i can't tell you how happy i was. the staff was very friendly, and i got a goodie bag w/an extra soft compact head toothbrush (WOW!), crest toothpaste, and some dental floss. the receptionist even printed out a color copy of my teeth w/what treatment i needed done in the future w/insurance information. when did dentist offices start caring about their patients??? very good find. thanks to yelp. I don't like giving poor reviews, but I had trouble with Dr. Tang's crown work a couple of years ago. The temporary broke during the fitting since it was so thin, and I had to wait over a week for another one to be made. After he did some other things badly I gave up going to him. Now, only 2.5 years later, that thin crown broke into pieces and came off! I've had crowns over 20 years old and never had one break apart and come off. The work was so poor that I'm going to pay out of pocket to have my current very good dentist fix it. Unfortunately, I would not trust Dr. Tang to fix anything. read more

I can't believe it has taken me this long to provide a review!! I love this Dentist and the Office Staff. My daughter and I have been seeing Dr. Tang for over 5 years now! My daughter started going prior to kindergarten. He is very very good with children. It's often scary for kids to go to the dentist, but Dr. Tang handled her teeth so smoothly over the years that she actually looks forward to going. He created a completely non-threatening gentle approach. Plus he has kids her age too, so he understands! Lupe is always super sweet and my daughter looks forward to the prize at the end!! My experience with Dr. Tang is also positive over the years. I have had a couple of fillings and he is very gentle with shots (my not so favorite thing!) Another thing I really like about Dr. Tang is that he will make recommendations about procedures you might need to consider "soon" without being pushy about it. He's honest in telling you where you stand in regards to your teeth and recommends the next steps you need to take. I like his honest approach. I have my teeth cleaned 3x per year because I have a tendency to build up extra plaque. Mandy always does my cleaning. He' super personable and kind. He's very thorough and does an excellent job.
