Was referred here by a friend to get my racket restrung. Glad I did because the owner was very nice and made me feel welcome. He restrung my racket in about 30 minutes. Did not try to upsell me anything and recommended me strings for my arcsaber play. The place is a relatively small shop, but I got to know the owner. He said his shop has been here for a very long time. I actually drive by this place on my way to play badminton, but have never really seen it! His prices are incredibly reasonable, and I would surely come back to get a racket restrung. As far as shuttlecock or rackets for purchase, the selection is quite limited. The shuttlecocks were a bit pricey for the high quality ones, so I did not opt for them. He noted costs for shuttlecocks increased significantly due to tariffs. Anyhow, I am all for supporting small businesses, and he seems like an honest, genuine shop owner. Hope to see his shop succeed! Parking is available in front, shared with the rest of the plaza. The owner always provides great service and advice for players of all levels! They do have a 10% off yelp checkin so don't forget to use it during checkout! They do also have a website if you want to preorder items for store pickup. Free shipping is available for all order above $69.99 or same day pickup if you need it ASAP. But note prices are often better instore then online as with most of the local badminton shops. They do have a full line of yonex products with a small selection of Victor too. Restring service is available with either BYO string or purchased in store. They again offer the full product line of Yonex strings since this is an authorized Yonex dealer. I found this shop because I was looking for badminton shoes. Big 5, sports chalet, and sports authority didn't do it for me. Oh man, I was in luck. Wayne helped me out with my sporting need and pricing. He really knows his stuff. I also picked up a AT900 from Wayne a few years ago. I still have it and I don't regret his choice for me. Wayne's sporting supplies is a heaven for badminton players. The room is filled with his passion for badminton. He has a trophy case which he proudly displays. I've been meaning to pick up a badminton racquet for awhile now since I started playing again at the local community college. The racquets that the class has aren't bad at all, but they're a little worn down and grimy. I'm sure we remember the shared school supplies from high school. None of the local sporting goods places had anything of quality and I shopped a little bit online but I wanted to try out some racquets before I bought them. Then I found Wayne Lau's store. Wayne says he's a sporting supply store but he really only stocks badminton stuff, a real badminton pro shop. That's how you know when you're in the SGV, there's enough Asian people to keep this guy in business. Wayne was really nice and helpful, when I told him I was just getting back into it and needed an intermediate racquet he handed me not only the Yonex (more expensive) but a bunch of other brands that were also cheaper and let me try them all. He didn't presure me into buying beyond my means and let me have ample time to figure out what I wanted and swing the racquets around before I got anything. In addition to a great selection, he had good prices, comparable if not cheaper than online stores. He also included custom stringing on my racquet without an extra charges and if I wanted to upgrade the string, cost was minimal. I'll come back for my next racquet. read more

It was hard to find a badminton shop close by. I stopped by a few badminton clubs in the area and either they didn't have the racket I wanted or I wasn't happy with the customer service there. I found Wayne shop on yelp and decided to give him a try, I almost gave up because I went there twice and the shop was closed both times (his hours are very weird so call before you stop by) Since the shop isn't that far from my house, I gave it another try and was happy with my decision. Met Wayne and he explained to me about the rackets, also offered some great advises. He carry mostly badminton items there and a few other non-badminton items. I Went back a few more times to get a bag and my new racket string. I called to a few badminton clubs to see if they were willing to string my racket in 2 hours but they were too busy with others before me so I made a last minute call to Wayne and requested to have my racket string in 2 hours. Wayne wasn't at the shop yet but he asked me to drop my racket into the slot on the door with a note for the string type and tension I wanted. He called me back about 2 hours later and told me it was ready for pick up. P.S I think Wayne transfer the shop phone to his cell so even if the shop is closed, you can always call and he will probably pick up or call back shortly. read more

I don't normally write reviews. But Wayne is so awesome that i just had to sign up and post. This review is long overdue. I bought my first legit badminton racket here many years ago a Nanospeed 9000, right off the bat i knew this dude was awesome. I ended up buying 2 nanospeeds and a pair of shoes at very nice deal. I've been coming here ever since for my stringing needs and subsequent racket purchases. Countless occasion i'm running late because I don't get out of work until 6pm and he closes at 6:30pm. On my way, I would call him up and without fails, he says he'll wait til I get there. Usually I ended up getting there by 6:45pm and of course he's still open to wait for me. Few times I'm there to buy rackets and other big items, but often time, I'm just there for a re-stringing service that he would barely make a few bucks, yet he would wait for you. He is that awesome to his customers. To top it off, he would string it right away and wont just tell you to leave it racket til next day. After said and done, i'm out the door by 7:30pm, Wayne ended up waiting an extra hour of his time just to serve his customers. Where else can you get this top notch services, I dare you to find it. His selections of rackets are unbeatable, services second to none, Wayne's personality is extremely chilled and helpful, he is an expert in his knowledge of badminton and badminton products, his stringing machine is top of the line, can't say enough good things about this place, come meet Wayne for all your badminton needs, he's one cool dude! read more
